I wanted to come one last time before they officially close on Sunday, October 5th. Both the Cupertino and Dublin locations will be closing, but the manager told me that their Los Angeles locations will remain open. I've come occasionally from time to time to pick up an item or two, usually their sponge cake. People also really love their breads and their whole cakes. I came one last time because I realized I actually never tried their mooncakes. Honestly, it was just ok. The pastry part was a bit dry. They're shipped from Asia. Turns out I don't think I was missing out as far as their mooncakes. I will miss their sponge cakes though. Always soft and fresh. Not overly huge like a lot of other places. Stopped by today for a pork floss bun, cocktail bun, and the Soypresso Black Sesame Soy Milk. They're the only ones I know of in the area that sell Soypresso. Guess I'll have to go to Soypresso directly next time. I spoke with an employee today who told me that the owner was retiring and they're going to close permanently on Oct 6th. So unfortunate that no one is going to take over the business. Love everything I've ever had here. They've got a ton of mooncakes prepping for mid-Autumn festival. A solid four stars is what I would rate this bakery because you have the variety of Asian pastries that are of Hong Kong style. The variety and colors and even the smell when you walk in is intoxicating but what really gets you is all the pastries that are on display with the glass and also they give you samples of the Friday of pastries that they make in house. Pricing is not too bad for the area and if I came back, I would try the egg and spam sandwich that looked delicious but also all of their shortcakes and their egg tarts were pretty good. They are closing towards October timeframe. I will miss this HK bakery which is my favorite one. I love Kee Wah over Sheng Kee's bakery goods. They do a traditional pineapple bun and pork bun just right. During the moon day festivals, they offer both freshly made moon cakes and the tin ones. Leaving the Bay Area, it will leave a hole that no other bakery can compete with. Kee Wah use to have a stand in the Great Mall but was closed down during COVID and they never returned after post-COVID.I don't live near Cupertino and the Bay Area traffic is horrible. It always smells yummy of freshly baked goodies even towards the end of the day. Excited to bring my cousin during my latest visit because she loves cake so much. I bought 3 items that I haven't tried before: Phoenix crackers, walnut cookie & almond napolean like dessert Phoenix crackers is savory sweet with essence of char siu. Intriguing & enjoyable flavor profile. Almond napolean was filled with a baked egg white based filling. Haven't tried walnut cookie. I'm hoping it will have the texture of traditional almond cookie. Came by the other day and it was a mediocre experience. Parking is available on the surface lot next to the bakery or inside the parking garage behind the bakery. Kee Wah Bakery is a Hong Kong style bakery. During my first visit late afternoon, the bakery was deserted with only a couple front of the house staff members. The remaining baked goods included a dozen varieties of baked breads, cookies, along with a few slices of sad slices of cakes. Ordered a tiramisu cup and it was mediocre. It was more on the creamy side and the coffee powder on top was quite strong. During my second visit shortly after lunch, some of the bakers were still hanging out and there were a couple patrons coming in to buy baked goods. The baked egg tart was the flaky pastry crust and had a nice egg custard filing. The Portugese egg tart was decent although the 85C version seemed to be better and cheaper too. Amazing Chinese bakery! I got my birthday cake here and is was so light and not too sweet with tons of fruit on top and inside. We loved the cake and not cheap at $40 but worth it! I never paid so much for sponge cake before ($3) however it has been many years since I have bought it and eggs are super pricey right now. I really liked it and would pay this price again. Tried to order online, but there was an issue where I could select location but wasn't able to select date or time for pick up (both on mobile and on computer), so I ended up just calling them. It was very easy to place an order via phone and the cake was ready at my scheduled pick up time. They ask if you want any special writing on top or offer a chocolate "happy birthday" sign. It also comes with a candle and a cake slicer. The cake came with a variety of fruit on top, including unpeeled orange slices (which makes it so you have to take the slices off to eat) -- but the highlight of the cake is the green tea cake with the mango mousse. The cake is light and fluffy, while the mouse is flavorful and airy. Overall, the cake is not too sweet. Cung trung thu (pray during the moon festival) is something my entire family still carry. I started my carnivore diet on 8/22 and knew I wouldn't be able to enjoy it, but I went all out and bought a tin for my mom for her pray, too. I ordered 2 red bean tins and 1 red bean w/ egg tin, but they gave me 2 red bean w/ the egg and 1 red bean. On the website their limited custard moon cakes were sold out, but I saw 2 boxes near the register so I snagged it. The order mixup did not bother me. I ended up giving my moon cakes to my mom because my diet will not be ending till November. Pricey, but the packaging is lovely, and it's once a year. My mom said the custard moon cakes were not all custard. They are assorted. I didn't even ask her to elaborate which flavors she had. She also complimented that both red beans were very good as well. I got an 8 inch taro birthday cake here, and it was popular amongst everyone at the birthday party, to the point that people asked me where I had gotten the cake! The cake itself is light and airy, and I liked that the layers of taro paste. I had seen reviews saying they would have preferred taro chunks, but I actually think the taro paste was yummy and worked well with the sponge cake. The cake was also not too sweet! I also got a Hong Kong milk tea here - it was pretty typical and less sweet than ones from other places, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Love this place for mooncakes! They have the lotus paste mooncake with 4 egg yolks, which I've never seen anywhere else, but I like salted egg yolk so the more the better. Most of their buns are ok, but when I make my way out here then I also grab myself a few baked pork buns to snack on or save for breakfast. If you are like me and obsessed with foods, I'm sure you have seen vlogs and blogs about the Chinese Moon Festival coming up for 09.21.21 and how you need to get going on pre-ordering or finding a nearby Chinese bakery that'll have mooncakes in stock. Well being Korean I didn't grow up eating Mooncakes but since living in the bay I've had my share of delicious Mooncakes from SF to Oakland. I've never had the famous Kee Wah Mooncakes, I just preferred visiting the mom and pop places. This year my schedule was packed and I couldn't make it to any Chinatown bakeries, leading me to finally sample and try Kee Wah! At exactly 10:03am I walked in on 09.20.21 and hoped I wasn't too late on getting mooncakes. Nope, tables and shelves were still filled with all sorts of goodies. They didn't have the yolk filled single Mooncakes and I wasn't about to buy a tin as it's just too much for our family. So the single Mooncakes that were still available was a lotus paste and the red bean. Both were very good, I believe Kee Wah cakes are a bit sweeter than some of the bakeries I've tried but I think it's better that way, definitely a decadent baked good. We have yet to break into the mini fruit yogurt Mooncakes I got for my toddler, they look so cute. I also couldn't leave without buying some of the other goodies and I have to say they are a pretty solid bakery. Very organized and the customer service was friendly and quick! The building has a parking lot which is always a plus, but if you are like me and go right when they open it's a ghost town so you'll find a spot anywhere. read more

I ordered a beautiful and delicious 8" mixed fruit birthday cake for my son yesterday. I couldn't have been happier with the quality and taste of the cake. It was perfect, just like the photo online. They did a good job with writing "Happy Birthday" on the cake. I would definitely recommend this bakery, especially for a birthday cake. My in-laws don't like desserts that are too sweet and they enjoyed the cake. The filling was filled with fruit and I liked the sponge cake with light whip cream. WORST TASTING SPONGE CUPCAKE EVER!!!! i was in the area and yelped for chinese sponge cupcakes as i usually go to SF for these. They are $3 and since i saw many reviews i purchased 6...... BIGGEST WASTE OF $18 EVER. There is this extremely foul aftertaste in the mouth, the spongecake looked/smelled nothing out of the norm, slighty eggy smell. But once you take a bite, there is this unexplainable weird smell that leaves your nose, NOTHING ive ever tasted/smelled before compared to numerous bakeries i have tried them at...
