    Culper dip sandwich

Most of the food is good! However, for almost $30 where is the meat?? The sandwich was so full of arugula, mostly some onions and mushrooms, but the meat was so thin. I would never spend the money on this sandwich again. I could go to Sarges for $31 and get a very thick corned beef sandwich or brisket. Although out of neighborhood in Murray Hill! This was supposed to have short rib meat in it but there's very little. I like the place but cannot eat there at a simple restaurant and pay that kind of money to have hardly any meat in my sandwich. Very disappointing seems to have gotten thinner the arugula overpowers, and even on it . You've raised your prices, Why do you have to lower the amount of meat? it comes with a side. Had the house salad it was very good and fresh as. Always!! I recommend this place, but not this sandwich . If it had more meat, I would recommend it

First time in the city with contacts and they stay dry, but that's Scotch and Guinness can't be beat.

The food comes out looking like a million bucks and tastes like it too. There's everything from a cold Guinness, to Johnny Walker Black, to ciders and local brews. Jorge and Duncan took impeccable care of us at the bar. This is a jivin' little local bar with lively atmosphere and TVs for everything you'd want to see. I won't waste time going to any other bars this trip. Clean bathrooms for the ladies even on a weekend night!

Good bar to watch sports. Food is okay. Decent happy hour prices. Happy Hour is only at bar seats.

I like the late night food here- I've ordered chicken Parm twice, and it's always hot and fresh. Cocktails, I'd prefer elsewhere-

Hook Burger with Brussel Sprouts for side dish

Unbelievably delicious burger! I got the Hook Burger, with grilled tomato, Cole slaw, .... Had Brussel Sprouts for side. Also delicious! Great bar. TVs a bit small, but they have a large one front and center.

There hanger steak was cooked perfectly medium. To my liking. We sat at the bar and also ordered the Brussel sprouts w/ Mashed potatoes on da side ! The Macaroni and cheese is good also ! The bar area is a u-shape design! And there ambience is a wave of pictures on the walls . The have a good $10 cheeseburger midday till 2 pm . The seating at the bar can also be tight . At times

Great bar! Came on a Friday night. Live music that sounded great. Food was delicious and drinks were great! I'd highly recommend the nachos - the queso on them was fire. Also recommend the fries with gravy and cheese. Huge portion and soooo good. Our waitress was a little slow with drinks, but it was a good experience overall.

. This place is great! it has an extensive selection of solid beers and delectable bar food. What sets it apart is the variety it offers, including an all-day brunch, variety of tacos, and a mix-and-match sliders option that caters to pretty much anyone's tastes . The staff is not only friendly but also attentive, going above and beyond to ensure guests feel welcome and taken care of. It's also clear that this place has a loyal following. The delicious food, and exceptional service keeps me coming back for more.

Wonderful neighborhood pub! The atmosphere, vibe, food, and service is terrific. It's a casual spot to have a drink, go watch the game, or have a nice dinner. There is a very patriotic theme here from the decor to the menu. Think George Washington revolution era yankee doodle dandy set in a modern placing. Around 16 beers on tap with many local brewers featured along with some imports and domestics. Bottle and cans of the more regular varieties. Nice house list of cocktails too and some wines. Fish & Chips were so good here and not greasy at all. Shiner beer on tap reminded me of my trips to San Antonio to visit family. Everything was fairly priced but also not on the cheap side. You'll drop some cash here for dinner and drinks, but the good portions and tasty food are worth it.

It's a pretty nice sports bar with large TV screens throughout the place so will definitely be on my list of places to hit up to watch a few games! What to make of this place?…read more When we visited in September (at that time), a wanna-be sports bar had just taken over the Greek taverna Blue Sea Taverna (before that, two iterations of Akrotiri). Both Greek tavernas had failed or gone out of business. So we were curious to see what changes had been made. When we entered, we were initially confused because the seating, especially the lounge seating, did not create a sports bar vibe. Even adding a bunch of TVs did not give us that feel either. Instead, our initial impression was that they were trying to convert an old Greek taverna into a gastropub, similar to other well-known ones in the area. And I should also add we had not been following the local news about the controversy regarding their name association with a World War II fortified bunker that was blown up at the end of the Second World War, and only read about the controversy over their name after we left, and on social media. Apparently, the owner(s) were most likely unaware of its historical context when naming their establishment. So we did not factor that into this review. Upon entering the Wolf's Lair, the seating was that of a modified Mediterranean restaurant. We chose the comfy seating looking out towards 29th Street and 30th Avenue. It had been raining heavily, and so we were just glad to be inside. Because our initial impression was that we were in a Mediterranean gastropub, we ordered lamb chops with lemon potatoes. The waiter, who may have been one of the owners, informed us that this vegetable was not on the menu; however, when our chops arrived, as you can see from the photos, we were indeed served lemon potatoes. We got what we ordered, which made us happy, and the chops were cooked to perfection. As we usually do not drink alcohol, beverages were not factored into our review. However, there was one thing we found a little strange and creepy. When we left, one of the employees, presumably an owner, insisted on coming out to help take photos. This was a little off-putting. Nevertheless, we got some good shots. In writing this review, we spent a lot of time deliberating our experience at the Wolf's Lair. We focused on the restaurant, service, food quality, and atmosphere. While the overall experience was excellent, we did not find Wolf's Lair to have a sports-bar atmosphere, but rather a family-dining atmosphere. On the day we visited, there was hardly any action at the bar, and most of us seated were into the food, if nothing else, with one family having a birthday party for one of their children. Overall, we had a good experience. Whether we come back to see if the Wolf's Lair becomes an actual sports bar, well, that's another matter.

Huge space, lots of TV's everywhere, great selection of beers and food. Lots of beer on tap from Germany that is rare to see at most bars. The Grilled Party Mix ($39) was quite filing for two people and went great with the beer. The drinks line eventually became too long to bother and was moving glacially slow, but luckily we had gotten a bucket of canned beers by then which lasted us the rest of the night. The place was packed to the rafters the whole night making it hard to watch the games. Sight lines vary wildly depending on where you're sitting.
