    Chicken tacos.

I have eaten at The Milton four times during the last three months. Rather than review each visit, I will comment on my meals. The chicken tacos, which I ordered on more than one occasion, were easily my favorite. Filled to overflowing, they hit the spot. Second, I ordered a tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich. The cup sized soup was robust and hearty. A slice of onion or tomato would have improved the grilled cheese although my dining partner really loved the sandwich and soup. Third, I ordered Mac and Cheese with bacon. Fourth and a distance last was their salad with peppercorn dressing. The salad lacked many ingredients, and consisted of lettuce and dressing for the most part. The bar/restaurant stays open quite late, but the kitchen closes around 10:30 or 10:45 pm. Several tables are available in the back, and six tables are located outside. It can be quite dark inside. I will definitely return to The Milton inasmuch as it stays open quite late and is relatively close by. Not to mention my fondness for their chicken tacos! A jazz band started playing on Monday, at 730 pm.

Came here for some drinks during october and they had a pumpkin spice espresso martini which honestly was pretty good. The pumpkin was not overpowering at all. Service was great, they were very friendly. The atmosphere inside during October was great - they had some Halloween decorations that were not too overwhelming. Entire bar had an orange glow from their orange lights.

I went with a friend for Saturday Brunch. The menu is full of the usual brunch items but with a different twist. I ordered the Ploughman . It is smoke salmon onion cream cheese with an English Muffin. The special twist is devil eggs sitting on a zesty mustardy dollop. The service was fine. I liked the ambiance.

I usually have no issue with brunch at the Milton but the eggs Benedict today was not up to their normal standards.. no runny yolk everything else was great. However, the yolk of the eggs Benedict should be runny.

Hosted a surprise engagement party for my son and his fiancée. The staff was so lovely to work with. They were gracious and accommodating. We rented out the whole place for the party. The drinks were excellent and the passed apps were good (beer battered shrimp, flatbread pizza, sliders, truffle chicken nuggets, spinach and artichoke dip). The owner Paul was great. We were allowed to come early to set up and we were able to bring in our own cake.

Great drinks, good service, nice ambiance! My friends and I tried the Keep The Heid, Campfire Old Fashioned, and Bourbon Banana Cream to start. Everybody loved their drinks, although the banana cream was the clear winner. Between the flavor and the vanilla ice cream cube, it was super! The old-fashioned was great, with the toasted marshmallow a nice accompaniment. The Heid was also good, and led to a lot of discussion to exactly what velvet falurnnum was. We made friends with the girls next to us, enjoyed the football game, and had an excellent time.

Stopped by the Milton on St Patrick's day and throughly enjoyed my meal. The Cottage pie was AMAZING! It is a large portion and heavy but packed with flavor! The bar is very cozy and the staff was friendly. The dishes were on the higher end $$ but I still enjoyed the food. I would go back for those chips and mayo dip! YUM!

Had our engagement party here and would highly recommend. The manager and staff are super friendly and flexible. They gave us a great deal and made sure we were so well taken care of. Personally a big fan of their cocktails too!!! Oh, and we brought an outside cake which they cut and served for us. 10/10

I'm bumbed how poor I took the pictures because they don't do the food justice by any means. I also didn't get a picture of the cottage pie but it was very good and flavorful! The corned beef and cabbage were fantastic! The chips and mayo were elite! Felt like true European style mayo (so much better) The vibe was a cozy Irish pub and the servers were so friendly! Very very solid place! A little on the expensive side but well worth eating here! Try it if you haven't yet!

Came here to meet a friend for a drink really. But I ended up getting some food. I got chicken tacos and my friend got a flatbread. She said it was tasty. My tacos were good. She to drink had a mule and for me I tried the cinnamon espresso martini. Very tasty and I will be back to try more of the holiday/winter drinks as they all look wonderful!

Surprisingly worthwhile spot for brunch in the UES. In a neigborhood whose food options make me incredibly sad when compared to many of the downtown neighborhoods, we can take solace in the quality, no frills brunch that The Milton is offering. I was able to walk in around 2pm on a weekend and it was pretty empty. The eggs benedict were great - jammy, runny eggs with a savory hollandaise sauce and salty, savory slices of meat with a chewy, hearty english muffin at the bottom. Potatoes were cooked just right and nice and salty. Love a classic American breakfast done well. Service was attentive and quick. The space is like a cabin of sorts, and quite charming. Almost feels like you escape the city a little. Def would consider coming back again if I was trying to stay within the neighborhood. This place def deserves more press.

Best fish and chips I've had on the UES? Lunch time is a good time to give it a shot. You'll very likely need dinner reservations. Outdoor seating good choice during good days.

The biggest question then became, where to go? We needed a place that was relatively easy to get to that would hold close to 100 people. Jungly was a contender for several reasons - it's location, size, vibe, and menu all seemed to check off. It also helped that I had done business with the owner previously at one of his other spots. It seemed like the natural choice, so I went ahead with the booking. Jungly is located in LIC - it's a pretty convenient spot as its close to the LIRR and the subway. Parking can be a challenge, but luckily I found a spot only a block away. The space itself is nicely set up - walking in you're immediately greeted by the bar area with dining areas both to the left and the right. Due to our size, they closed the place to the public and we were able to freely roam the bar area and one of the dining rooms. In addition to standard tables, they have some lounge space and high tops by the bar. The vibe is somewhat modern - a black/grey color scheme paired with neon and golds. It looks like the space could easily be converted to a club-like atmosphere. Since we were here for a private event, the food was set up buffet style - we chose three apps, four mains, and two sides. Ultimately, for apps we chose pita bread with dips, steak tacos, and shrimp tacos. For mains we chose fried chicken sliders, smashed beef sliders, cacio e pepe, and roasted chicken. For sides, we got fries and Brussels sprouts. In general, all of the food was tasty; the strongest dishes were the tacos, fries, and the chicken tacos. The tacos were generously filled, the fries were the crispy skin style, and the chicken sliders were nice and crispy. The weakest for me was the cacio e pepe - not much flavor and just not really a standout IMO. My communication with management to set up the event were a little staccato, though in the end everything worked out. For the most part, my communication with them was consistent in the days leading up to the event. Service the night of the event was overall good - they were very accessible but I found that they could have replenished the food a little faster in response to the rate it was being taken from the buffet. The bar, on the other hand, was great - both in service and variety of liquor available. Overall, we had a great event at Jungly. They were professional, fair, and delivered on the goods. I would definitely consider hosting another event there, or dine here on my own.

The bartender, the one person who should be welcoming and engaging, came across as rude and lacked any charisma. On a Friday night, good energy behind the bar makes a huge difference, and that was completely missing. I ordered a margarita, which is one of the simplest and most common cocktails to make. I asked for it really sweet with plenty of salt on the rim. Instead, it came out barely sweet and with almost no salt. For a $17 margarita, I expected much better. I've had to return the drink because I've had better margaritas for $12 at other places. While waiting for my friend, I had to wait with a glass of water because I didn't trust the way they made the drink. The bartender told me I either needed to order another drink or move, which felt unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming. To be fair, the food was good and the space itself is nice. However, the bar service left a very poor impression. There are plenty of more affordable places where the staff are friendly and make guests feel welcome.
