I can't believe I've never been here before. Ultimate comfort food with max flavor! Great service! So much history in the building and restaurant. We had the Fried Green tomato BLT and shrimp and grits, chefs kiss So delicious

Went to the Horse Inn last week and had a really good time. Cool place. You kinda feel like you are in an old horse barn which is actually pretty sweet. They do this mystery beer thing which is just a cheap beer but it's fun and feels on brand for the place. Food wise the beef tips are the move. I would honestly go back just for that. Good spot overall.

Cocktails Extraordinaire, "Tips and Toast" and Jazz Tuesdays! My recent first time visit to this eclectic upstairs Speak Easy bar and restaurant on a Tuesday night was a strikingly great and memorable experience! The room exudes a warm and comfortable vibe, super friendly staff, patrons and jazz- trio musicians. The bartender cranks out "best-in-your-life" versions of your favorite cocktail as only a seasoned pro can do (I went with a Knob Creek Rye Old Fashioned, later a Paper Plane that both knocked my socks off!) This kitchen is Lancaster's best kept insider secret! Fresh Lancaster County meats are featured on my buddy Alan's favorite two dishes there: the (Sirloin) Tips and Toast, and the Horse Inn Burger- we split and shared- and devoured both in "STUNNED SILENCE' Be sure to save room for their made-in-house Ice Cream for dessert- EPIC rotating along with standing flavors! The smooth "Tom Ponce Project" trio that plays there every Tuesday night attracts a group of local clientele that savor the entire experience, and I found myself wishing I had anyplace like this back home in the Philadelphia Mainline! Yes, the Horse In now tops my list of the very best things to do in Lancaster, PA!

Another delicious and entertaining night at the Horse Inn! Always consistent and welcoming!

I managed to snag a 5 o'clock Friday reservation two weeks in advance--the only time left. When we arrived, there was already a line out the door! We parked around the block without any trouble, but take note: the street in front is residential only, so use the lot behind the building or find street parking nearby. The Horse Inn is the oldest consecutively running restaurant in Lancaster City, and its setting alone is worth the visit. Located on a quiet residential street with little façade, you climb two flights of stairs to the third floor and step straight into a 1920s-era speakeasy vibe: low ceilings with exposed beams, original hardware and brick walls, iron gates and chandeliers, and dim lighting. There's even a small area big enough for a three-piece band, which I'm guessing plays jazz on live-music nights. The whole space easily exudes the coolest casual atmosphere in the city. The menu is simple but solid. We both ordered custom cocktails, which is not something we usually do, but this felt like a place we could trust, and we were right. He ordered the burger; I had the fried grains. Both dishes were solid choices. Dessert was the real showstopper: a scoop of sweetcorn ice cream that easily ranks among the best ice creams I've ever had. Service matched the vibe: our waitress was straightforward, checked in just the right amount, and seemed to anticipate our needs while keeping the table turnover smooth. All in all, a great experience. Next time, I'll try to visit on a Tuesday for the live music. Just note: it's definitely not handicapped accessible, and I did see older patrons struggle with the stairs, which tells me it's been worth the climb for a long, long time.

some of the absolute best food I have had in a long while. typically, we discuss what could have made this experience better? well the short answer tonight was NOTHING. food was seasoned perfectly and looked just as good as it tasted. we found this spot in Yelp, of course, and it was certainly worthy of the rating and then some. we didn't make reservations so we enjoyed beverages at the bar until our table was ready. we began our dinner with the pea salad . it was cool and refreshing with a hearty mix of flavors, he ordered the tips over toast and i had the burger. we splurged with dessert enjoying the chocolate mousse and another fresh fruit dessert. we enjoyed all of this delicious food in my favorite type of environment, dim lights and dark wood! i will certainly revisit this location ! it is one of the few true five stars for me! ZERO. complaints!

After having the debate of whether our GPS had betrayed us and dropped us into the middle of nowhere, we finally followed some Yelp pictures to find this spot. It's not that the signs aren't visible or the address not accurate, it's just that it feels very out of place in an urban downtown without a ton of other businesses close by. Moving past that initial hiccup, you climb up a flight of stairs to reach a trendy, fun inn with great food and a deep beer list. My group was seated immediately by a friendly hostess, though we were met by a waitress who seemed to be having an off day. Happens to the best of us! What wasn't having an off day was the food, which was stellar. We got cheesy fries with sausage incorporated as an appetizer, and they were phenomenal. I grabbed a burger after that, which was a combination of short rib, brisket, Chuck, and dry aged beef. The flavor oozed out with every bite, with crisp, fresh toppings punctuating every delicious morsel. To top it all off, the salad was awesome too, both in look and taste. This is why you can't always trust your instincts, even when they scream "your wife is right, you did put the wrong address in the GPS."

I got the burger with onion and tomato and an order of wings. I really like the atmosphere of the restaurant. It was something very unique. Food was excellent.

We walked in just past 5:00pm and were able to snag the last available table. Pro tip: make a reservation! We aren't from the area so we had no clue how busy it would be. Every seat was filled. There was live music (pianist) who was incredibly nice. We took our baby daughter near him to get a closer look as she was really enjoying it and he played a short, fun rendition of "If you're happy and you know it..." for her, which she loved! Service was very friendly and the cocktail was stellar. Food was great. Burger was perfectly cooked. Fries were fantastic - had a light breading on them, providing a crisp exterior. The burrata appetizer stole the show. Don't think twice; just order it. The shrimp and grits were just OK - probably wouldn't order again but I'm not a huge shrimp and grits fan anyway. The pot du crème dessert was the perfect end to a great meal. Great experience. If we are ever in Lancaster, this is where we'll go (and we'll make a reservation!).

Our last dinner on vacation in the area we came here and it was delicious! We were staying right up the street so we actually walked to dinner too which was nice. Service was great.

After my second hike no question that I wanted to come back here for another visit. Station Taproom is an attractive and comfortable pub with what I found to be an unexpected menu. Many dishes had an Asian influence, but with the additional plus of showcasing some exciting combinations of ingredients. VEGAN BANH MI ::: I had this on my first visit. The sandwich was made with plant-based meatballs, along with carrots, cucumber, plus much more in the mix. (I detected a note of hoisin in the mix, though not mentioned in the menu). "Meatballs" were definitely unexpected in a banh mi. WONTON NACHOS ::: On my second visit to the Taproom, which was last week, I had "wonton nachos". As per the menu, some of the ingredients were "hoisin-berry BBQ pork" as well as mozzarella and pepper jack, and wonton chips. Presentation was important, and I could see that they had spent extra time in plating the dish. A finishing touch was the "micro cilantro" that was delicately sprinkled over the top. I love cilantro, but had never seen it in "micro" form. It was very fresh, wondering now whether they grew it themselves. BEERS ::: On both my visits, "Rachel" made excellent recommendations for hazy IPA's. Great experiences both times.

But the taste is what really matters and Grilled Sesame Salmon didn't disappoint. Wow!! I thought British food was supposed to be flavorless. The Salmon was both sweet and spicy with the teriyaki bang-bang glaze. The jasmine rice cakes added the perfect amount of crunch and the vegetables were as fresh as they appeared. The pub side of the restaurant feels British with ornate wooden features and sounds of laughter from all around. The bartender are knowledgeable and engaging. I'm breaking my own rules, because I feel the 3.9 rating is pretty accurate, with one 5 star + exception. This was a business lunch and a convenient location so there we were. The duck fries as an appetizer were good but needed to be seasoned with a little more salt. I had a strawberry salad with some grilled chicken that was good with the greens, but dry as the desert with the chicken and borderline inedible. Here's the twist!!! My two compadres both had the grilled cheese and lobster sandwich. They both looked at me sheepishly and said, you f ed up!!! William was kind enough to break off a substantial bite and let me try it. Angels sang, children wept, and I almost passed out! It was the kind of perfection we all agreed we would have eaten 5, maybe 6 of these unnaturally awesome sandwiches until we passed out! 3.5 Star service, 4 Star ambience, and some 10 Star bites!
