Firstly, Spencer greeted us at the bar and did an amazing job explaining the goal of this restaurant. He was extremely knowledgeable and very passionate about the food and tequila at this restaurant. We just wanted some appetizers and a few drinks. He made some great suggestions and we fooled his recommendations. The food was high quality and delicious. The margaritas were perfect. They were just opening up as I passed so I was the first customer if the day. The manager and bartender were friendly and welcoming. They offered unhurried recommendations as I was a first timer. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Food is AMAZING!!! I don't get excited about a dish very often but this place was the best mix of flavors - I'll never forget this meal. Service was great. Water comes in a 2L vodka jug, which was great because we were both thirsty after our full day of skiing. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and offered great guidance. Caesar salad (5/5): a must!! Grilled romaine was warm and charred perfectly. Roasted poblano Cesar dressing? GENIUS. What a fun and new combination of flavors adding depth and a roasted / smoky touch to the well known Cesar dressing. Shrimp and grits (6/5): AMAZING. Chorizo mixed with cheesy polenta and smokey mole was the perfect combination of flavor. The Mexican twist gave the typical shrimp and grits an additional level of flavor. So delicious. MUST TRY. I think of this dish still even 3 weeks later. Short rib (5/5): mole + short rib was the combo to change up the regular routine short rib. Highly recommend. Ambiance is ...odd. Inside looks like an old western saloon, condiments are on the table and the environment is very casual. This place was fire! Spent a week in Breck for Christmas and came here four times during my stay. Everything I had on the menu was great, from the Horseshoe Burger, Breakfast tacos, the Prime rib for dinner and the appetizers such as the Mexican Street Corn and Bread and Cheese. All great but my favorite because of my sweet tooth was the Big Cinnamon roll that I had two days in a row. The service here was outstanding, I forget our waitresses name but we've had her twice now and she is phenomenal! The Queso Blanco was a great starter, they give you a great portion of Chips and some Chicharrón. The tacos were tasty as well, I've only tried the Chicken & Pastor taco so far but they have quite a few options. Tons of seating area downstairs, with a nice bar to the right when you first enter. Travel upstairs and there's a great view of Main Street from the large windows. They also have a decent sized patio outside where you have a great view of Breckenridge Mountain. read more

Waitress dropped food on my lap, and, ran off without apologizing. Brought the food back out cold clearly stacked back together. Manager apologized and said they made it better by comping 1 drink and taking 15% off the entree. I would have personally preferred to keep my jeans in that trade, but it is what it is. Aside from that: The food tasted like a restaurant you try at your local food hall and think "I tried it, but I won't eat it again" . Amazing menu! So many things on the menu sounded amazing! We ordered the smoked brisket sandwich with tots and the traditional breakfast plate with the hatch green chile sausage and they were both absolutely phenomenal. We were a party of 9 so we had to book a reservation through their website. It required that we sign a form saying that if we cancelled within 7 days, or reduced the number of people, we would be charged $25 per person, but the person on the phone said it would be fine to cancel within a couple days notice. Well 5 days before our trip, we found out that one couple that planned to travel with us had to back out due to health reasons. So I contacted the restaurant immediately asking if we could cancel the reservation or, if not, could we reduce the number of people to 7. Three phone calls where I couldn't get through to a live person and left messages and three emails later and still no response. They have my credit card and I don't know if we have to show up tomorrow night or not. We have a handicapped person in our party which makes just getting to and from places difficult. It would be nice to know what the deal is but no response. This is the worst!! I finally got ahold of someone on the phone and they still had us confirmed for 9 people. So I guess we are going and I will update this review after we have tried the food. So far, service for large groups is a zero, but I hear the food is excellent so I will hope to still post a more positive review. We arrived and seating was cramped but it is high season and we were comfortable enough. We ordered one of each of their four espresso martinis to share and they were delicious - a real hit. We tried a couple of appetizers and different entrees and overall the food was very good. Best was the waitress, Kelly, who was attentive and very nice. So I will bring my review up to three stars. Considering this spot opened just one month ago, they are nailing their menu. We ordered the Grande Burrito, the Breck Tacos and a single pancake for brunch. My husband says it's one of the best breakfast burritos he's ever had. The shredded pork was so tender. The red sauce is good. Excellent flavor. I had the Breck Tacos and a single pancake. The tacos are served 3 to a plate and have a really nice savory rich flavor. I ordered then with Chorizo. Only wish there'd been more crispy potatoes in the taco! Since I love a little sweet, I also tried the pancake. It's huge! So fluffy and a fantastic not-too-sweet batter that is perfect once you add butter and maple syrup. Mimosas are also delicious - though maybe a little heavy on the OJ haha. Service was very attentive and kind. Michelle was great! Good music playing, not too loud. The ambience is awesome. Love the old saloon feel with updated decor. Our kind of place! Great character. Overall we are so pleased we walked through the door. Fantastic time!! Wow I cannot speak enough about this place. Horseshoe Breckenridge is TRULY one of my favorite spots in Breck. The moment you walk in you are greeted by one of the nicest gentlemen you will ever meet. Spencer the bartender is so nice, fun and great to be around. His energy is magnetic and super fun. He made the entire experience very memorable while we waited for a friend to arrive to have dinner together. We even had a drink after dinner at the bar bcz we didn't get enough of Spencer's fun energy. The place is a GEM. The drinks and food are amazing. The entire menu looks delicious and I want to come back to try it all. They make you feel right at home "family style" fun and relaxing. Our waiter was a young professional who's super charming, energetic, knowledgeable, fun 19 year old who definitely went above and beyond to make our dinner evening incredible.
