I feel bad giving a not great review but the description "Meh. I've experienced better" perfectly describes my feelings about this Hot Bagel location. Got 2 bacon, egg and cheeses; one on plain and one on everything. The eggs were overcooked which is funny because Paul R. said his coworker's eggs were undercooked. Both sandwiches were skimpy on the bacon which was a little too soft/undercooked for my liking. I gave my boyfriend his egg sandwich without telling him where it was from (usually we get it from Hot Bagels on River Road) and he knew after the very first bite it wasn't from River Road. He didn't like his egg sandwich and unfortunately I didn't like mine either. The bagels themselves were dry. But it was mostly the egg and bacon that were the biggest disappointments. I'd be willing to give this place another chance because shit happens and everyone deserves a second chance. Also, their menu is wayyy bigger than Hot Bagels on River Road. Maybe they make better egg platters/omelettes. read more

Let me start by saying I'm not a germ a fob but what ongoing to say below is just some basic sanitary issues that always get me. The bagels are very good, great selection of assorted cream cheese and tasty bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. The one and only issue is a lot of the staff wears one sanitary but they touch the food, tmoney, register,etc. then on their way helping the next customer. They try to use one hand but it clearly does not work. The gentleman with beard who hasbeen there forever is the number one culprit as he's been doing it for many years as are others. Seriously, I know it's a pain in the butt to take off the gloves every time but it's truly necessary. This has been going on for a long time as I lived in town for many years(occurred then) but moved out a few years ago and I was in there this morning and it's still happening. Usually my favorite spot in town. However, the staff can be very rude (i say this based off of multiple occasions but today really upset me). They recently changed their hours to close an hour earlier which i was unaware of. I was having a difficult day and unable to eat so i asked a friend to pick up a bagel for me and she ended up being there 20 minutes before closing which the staff made terrible remarks regarding the new time change and being close to closing time. I am normally not the type of person to go into an establishment to order a huge meal knowing that they'd probably already started their closing duties. But a bagel? That's clearly on the basket behind them and cream cheese that's directly in front of them. There was very minimal preparing to have been done. And then being upset because they had to "plug in" the toaster?? If they don't want the business, there are plenty of other bagel spots in town that probably would appreciate it. read more

These are the best bagels I've ever had and I've tried a good amount. I find these bagels are generally softer than some other authentic bagel places, but I prefer them that way. They have good quality lox as well and their bacon egg and cheese bagels might just be the best sandwich I've ever had. Definitely get there early as these are made fresh daily and he best ones go early. read more

I ordered a Bacon egg and cheese and a Bacon and cheese with an extra slice of cheese. As I waited patiently for my food another customer came up to complain didn't think much of it until I realized they messed up my order as well. I did not notice until I got home that I received two bacon and eggs with no cheese on them. Luckily I had some cheese at home to melt on them. The only good thing about this experience was that the bagel wasn't hard. I would understand the mistake if it was busy but it had to be me and 3 other people in the store. These bagels do in fact live up to their name as they are hot and also bagels. The shop isn't huge, but there is at least some seating. The bagels are nice and fresh in the morning though and there is a large variety to chose from. They go great as a sandwich or with some creme cheese too. read more

I've also order for delivery and had it within 15 minutes. I don't usually have much interactions with the employees but when i have, it's been great. She served me a bagel with butter and then she rang me up - touched cash and coins. I purposely waited to see if she would change her gloves when helping the next customer and my instincts were right - NO SHE DID NOT! She served the man behind me with the same gloves she used to prepare my food and touch money. HORRIBLE!!! The bagels are pretty good, but I've had a few frustrating experiences here and I'm finally to the point I'm just not going to try anymore with so many good bagel places around no matter how close it is to me. The older man that I believe to be the manager treats regulars he knows like gold but makes you feel like you don't exist if he doesn't know you. The service in the morning during the week when they have to be more fast paced is fine, but three times now I have come on the weekend when its slow and just been straight up ignored by everyone. The teenagers that work there are too busy messin around and talking about things no one cares to hear about and I saw one grab a handful of chicken salad with no gloves (yes, this specifically was my last time there). It has taken soo much longer than it should have for simple orders; they tend to ask you what you want, give you a chance to barely finish saying something simple like 'plain with cream cheese" before they disappear without giving you a chance to order anything else. Then you have to waaaait for them to come back so you can order item number 2 and so on. Maybe should consider writing things down?? Excited to try river road hot bagels, heard good things. Takes forever to get basic food items.

Soo..the bagels are typical, good but nothing extraordinary. They serve your regular sized bagels and mini bagels as well for those health conscious eaters. As soon as you walk in you notice how clean the place is which is a huge plus. The variety of different fresh cream cheese's makes your drool and tempted to try it even if you only like plain cream cheese that's how good it looks. I didn't notice anyone writing down orders which scared e a bit because mine was on the detailed side. So ready to hear it..? lol An everything bagel, scooped out( in which they take some of the bread out of the bagel ) very heavy toasted with vegetable cream cheese. It ended up costing me $3.75 which is a bit pricey because I could've gotten an egg sandwich but nevertheless, it was good. The vegetable cc had a nice crunch to it, it consisted of red and green bell peppers, carrots, and scallions, the crunch was the best part. Service was fast, I was noticed immediately once I walked in the door. She did have to ask me though what kind of CC I wanted after the bagel was toasted but its ok, I'll let her slide on it, but I would come back again, the order was correct in the end and that's what matters! read more

Forgot to add that my co worker complained about his eggs not being cooked thoroughly. Now that he mentioned it the eggs do seem a little runny. I usually ask for eggs well done and he thought it was considerably better. Do the same as him if you don't feel confident in the consistency of the eggs. read more

4.5 stars. Killer bagels, breakfast sandwiches, coffees and spreads. They also have great pastries and a variety of lunch-type stuff, which I've never tried. Service is generally good as well. The bagels could use a bit more flavor, but are close to perfect. read more
