Next to our hotel, so the location was great! The coffee and latte were good, but nothing special. It was the first beignet I've had and it was good and not overly sweet. We were the only ones there, so it came out immediately. They also have an outdoor spot that was very cute!

Hot Bennys helped me check an item off my NOLA bucket list, BUT I do not think they offer the best beignets in the area. The cost was a bit high (~$7 after tax for 3) for the small size of the beignets and taste. They were HOT and fresh and extremely messy so be careful so you don't get powdered sugar everywhere or burn the roof of your mouth/tips of your fingers trying to have one. It was warm inside the restaurant. Fans were blowing but it almost felt like the AC was out. The restaurant is cute on the inside and they are cashless. Overall, it is worth trying for yourself, but I found that there were other options on Canal street that gave me a better bang for my buck.

We stayed at the Double Tree Hotel, right behind this spot. I was up early and went in to get a coffee and try their beignet. Cute little place, taht has an outdoor seating area. It took a while, with no line, so I assume they were fried up fresh. The latte was good, and the beignet were hot and fresh, on the small side and the most expensive of all of the beignet that I had on my trip. I also saw that they served bloody Marys.

Went for coffee and of course Beignets! Cute little coffee shop with wonderful, hot, and fresh beignets! Couple tables and chairs outside for outdoor seating as well as inside! My barista was very nice and friendly! While in New Orleans this is a must try!!

Stopped here briefly on the way home on a late night right before they closed. We had a bloody Mary, coffee, and some beignets. I would say the beignets are comparable if not better than what I had at Cafe du Monde. I am sure its better during the day.

Very good beignets here!!! If you are in the area come try Hot Benny's by Canal Place. It's really clean inside and they play really good music! It's also very clean inside here! The coffee is bomb! I ordered the hazelnut coffee with oatmilk and it was good!! Very fresh and flavorful! The beignets were the best too, and actually better than Cafe de Munde in my opinion!! Very soft and fresh! I highly recommend here !! I will come back here when I return!

    Trying another beignet place. Hee

This was my first time at this particular beignet café. It was walking distance from our hotel, and I wanted to try another style of beignet. The dough wasn't as fluffy as the ones we had in the French Quarter, and they didn't have as much powdered sugar, but they were still tasty. I still rather go to the one in the French Quarter, the traditional/main one I guess. I wrote a review on them as well. Inside this little café, it was incredibly warm, which was great because it was freezing cold outside and they were tables and we were able to bring some tables from the outside inside to sit on them. We had a large group of 10 so it was nice that the café was accommodating for us. Everything was delicious and made in a timely matter and I wouldn't mind coming back here again. Coffee was also a little dark for my stomach but if you dip the beignets into it, it wasn't that bad. Lol.

Good little beignet shop with very limited seating. About 10 tables inside and out. But great for people that are just wanna grab them and go. Very limited menu basically beignets and coffee drinks. The beignets.come out hot and fresh. Excellent taste. They come in a set of 3 to a bag. As in all beignets.they are covered in powdered sugar. Not like cafe Simon's, so they are easier to handle without getting covered in it. They are also smaller than the ones at Café Dumont, but three was a perfect size for breakfast. Crisp on the outside and super soft and fluffy on the inside. Staff was very nice

They make the beignets right there while you wait. Excellent of course. It's a small place, clean though. Service was good. I didn't understand the default taxrate of 11%. Maybe that's a city tax. I didn't ask. In & outdoor seating.

Was feeling lazy and didn't wish to walk the extra 3 blocks to café Du monde--mistake! Benny's were not great = more doughy, served waaaay to hot and more expensive. In a pinch, I would not go back, I would go without and save the calories for something else.

This place has the most amazing beignets!!! I discovered Hot Bennys on a recent trip to New Orleans. It was so good I went there two days in a row! You can get three beignets for a pretty reasonable price and their coffee selection is also very good! I really enjoyed the vanilla lattes. This is a must visit if you are in New Orleans!!! Its very close to the convention center and in walking distance to many hotels.

We ran in here for a quick coffee and some beignets. The space was clean and the staff member was friendly and efficient. We had the house coffee and it was really good. We also had an order of the beignets and they were a great size and tasted fantastic. Hot Bennys is conveniently located to a lot of area hotels and they have a very cute courtyard seating area. We had a great experience there.

Stopped in here with the family to try some beignet. They were really good. The only complaint that I have is there is only 3 in an order.

Longer: So I was a little hesitant to go to CDM, because it's such the tourist stop and the first joint anyone mentions when they say "beignet". But this was our first stop, morning of first day. The beignets are piled in sugar, they are warm, crunchy and crisp on the outside and soft, warm and delicate inside. I gotta tell you, the texture is just a little different than Cafe Beignet, the Four Seasons, and even the other CDM in the park we tried a few days later. To me, this is the best one. Now, as a coffee person, their black coffee is strong, rich, and a good compliment to the real show - the beignets. But I did not pick up on nearly as much chicory in their chicory coffee as, say, Cafe Beignet's version. Also, I have to let you know the other location in the big park serves a non-chicory version (in addition to NOLA chicory) that is head and shoulders the best coffee we had in New Orleans. But this is the joint. As a bonus, it's colorful, has consistently great street musicians, and has lots of walkable sites as you struggle to waddle around after too many beignets. Gotta go!

Don't be deterred if you see a long line - that's for takeout only. The tables are first come, first served. Portions are quite large so good to share a plate (3 beignets) between 2 ppl. The Vintage - New Orleans, LA…read more The Vintage on Magazine Street was our very first food stop in New Orleans, and it turned out to be a great way for my wife and me to start our trip. From the moment we walked in, I really liked the atmosphere. The place has a cool, relaxed New Orleans vibe with a little bit of an upscale café feel without being overly fancy. It's the kind of spot where you can come in, sit down, enjoy some good food and drinks, and just take your time. Of course, we couldn't come to New Orleans and not start things off with beignets! We decided to go with the Fancy Beignet Flight, which gave us a chance to try several different flavors. We got the raspberry, s'mores, and Chantilly. They came out looking almost too good to eat, covered in powdered sugar with all the different fillings and toppings. Almost... because we definitely ate them! They were warm, sweet, messy in the best possible way, and a fun introduction to our New Orleans food adventure. For my meal, I ordered the Italian Panini with the truffle Parmesan fries. The sandwich was packed with meat, cheese, and flavor. Looking at that cross-section, they definitely weren't being stingy with the fillings! The bread was toasted nicely, and everything worked well together. The truffle fries were another highlight. They had plenty of seasoning and Parmesan and paired perfectly with the sandwich. I also grabbed a small iced mocha, which went really well with the food and especially the beignets. One thing I really enjoyed about The Vintage was the atmosphere. The interior has a lot of character, from the marble tables and vintage-style flooring to the bar and pastry display. It feels like a place that belongs on Magazine Street. It was comfortable enough that we didn't feel rushed and could just enjoy being in New Orleans together. The service was good during our visit, and everything came together for a really enjoyable first meal in the city. Our bill came to around $48 after tax and tip for the two of us, and considering we had a sandwich, upgraded fries, drinks, and the beignet flight, I thought it was a good experience for the money. Most importantly, this place gave my wife and me a great start to our New Orleans trip. When your first stop includes a loaded Italian panini, truffle Parmesan fries, iced coffee, and a whole flight of beignets, you know the trip is starting off right! Definitely a place I would visit again. Great food, great atmosphere, and a great first taste of New Orleans. 5 stars from us!

Still a New Orleans Gem - Visitor since 2018!…read more I'm updating my review as of April 2026 because it's important for visitors to know that The Vintage has absolutely "still got it." My last review was in 2020, and I'm happy to report that the quality and atmosphere remain top notch. Whether you are looking for a morning pick up or an evening wind-down, this spot covers all the bases. Their beignets and coffee are a classic must have, and I can personally vouch for their Americano. It is consistently well made and delicious. They also have a great selection of beer and cocktails if you're looking for something a bit stronger. What really sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. We have always had great interactions with the staff, but a special shout out goes to Jimmy, whom we met this past week. He was incredibly kind and hospitable, truly making us feel right at home. Jimmy if you are reading this, THANK YOU!! If you want a spot that feels authentic, welcoming, and consistently excellent, put The Vintage at the top of your list!
