Pizza 4/5 Roast beef 2/5* I'm leaving this review so you guys can improve a sandwich that is very close to being perfect. I'm a big roast beef guy. Will travel for it. Have done so for almost 2 decades. This one is so close to being great, but the main ingredient needs a little bit more attention. The onion roll, bbq, Mayo, and cheese are all on point. But the beef needs to be sliced thinner. Many pieces were not able to be bitten through. Too thick for the doneness it's being served at. Had to pull many pieces out in order to eat the sandwich. This was the case for two others I was eating w as well. Not sure if it was just the person slicing that night or what, but yea, get that beast a little thinner and this is a solid solid roast beast sandwich...Dined on 7/7 evening. read more

Horrible service. Took an hour to receive food, pizzas were burnt, and saw cook use unwashed hands during food prep. We ordered two of the same pickle pizzas which came out entirely different--one was covered in grease, the other was burnt. Had the potential to be good but we left extremely disappointed by the service and cleanliness of this place. read more

I ordered one cheese and one mushroom and onion pizza and honestly the only reason why I didn't give this place a one star is because I loved the crust but honestly these were the most disappointing pizza I've ever had. I got pizza delivered from Hot Box Pizza while I was in Boston for a conference. People recommended the pickle pizza so I decided to try that. The pickles add a nice tangy flavor to the cheesiness of the pizza. One small pie was plenty of food for one person. Give it a try if you're ever in the area. read more

This pizza was below average. Edible but nothing special. Went with the Classic with no toppings. They have a 20-minute wait on Sunday afternoons, which is fine but you would expect better pizza for the wait time. If you want reasonably good pizza in Boston, try Semolina's in Medford. read more

Finding North Shore Roast Beef anywhere is hard south of the city. I'm in Dorchester, and I'm so glad I found Hot Box on Uber Eats to deliver! I got the super beef 3 way and it's what I have been craving for months! The dill pickle pizza was spicy, different and nothing less then delicious! One of the few--if only--places in greater Boston that serves legitimate South Shore Style Bar Pizza. It's not Town Spa by any means but it's still excellent. The roast beef sandwiches are also very good. Plus, you can bring their food over to Remnant Brewing next door. read more

Took my kids on a Sunday to check out Bow Market. Didn't realize there was no seating at hot box, have to go to communal sitting in a hall next to the market. Anyway, got the pizza which was mind blowing. I love that burnt crust. Just fantastic. Ordered the roast beef sandwich. Comes with Mayonnaise which I am not a huge fan of. I'd be the last person to know what exactly is a South Shore pizza but I have to say the cheese pizza from Hot Box was much better than many I've ordered recently. The pizza was not overcooked or burnt and the serving was enough for leftovers. I ordered via Door Dash and everything came quick and hot. read more

I really wanted to love this place. Love bar pizza, love Somerville, love Union Square, and especially love Bow Market. However, this was my experience: - the pizza was okay -- I found it to be a bit too greasy (yes, it's pizza but this was a little over the top for me) and the crust was overly charred to the point where our mouths tasted like charcoal for a good while after finishing - I ordered off GrubHub/yelp, since I was at a loud bar nearby and wanted to order online and that was the option I saw when I googled. When I picked up the pies, the guy at the counter asked why I used GrubHub. I told him that it was for convenience or something along those lines, and he replied with some sarcastic quip like: "that's a 30% charge on us, great, thanks". I guess I understand that restaurant margins suck, but why take this out on the customer? Isn't GrubHub opt-in? If it's a bad deal for you, then don't use them? Sorry if I I'm missing something, but just felt rude and was a bad customer experience. Anyway, I left with a pretty bad taste in my mouth, literally and figuratively. read more

Ordered the mushroom & onion pizza. It was definitely good, but a bit smaller than I had expected for the price. I went on a Sunday evening, and they had already run out of the sauce required for the white pizza, which was a bummer. The wait time was longer than I had expected, and I recommend calling ahead and ordering over the phone to save yourself time. There is also no indoor seating, and all orders are "to-go." They also don't have any forks, which was super annoying, because I do appreciate utensils. No parmesan or any of those sorts of pizza toppings either. The service also wasn't fantastic. And, not a whole lot of good vegetarian options. The pizza was tasty, but overall, probably wouldn't go back unless I ordered it beforehand on the phone and took the order home/elsewhere to eat. read more

This review pertains to their service and their food. I ordered delivery through door dash but realized that I hade mistakenly ordered only one instead of two pizzas (exact same pizzas, same additions, not complicated). I called Hot Box and was put on hold, when I realized that I wasn't on hold just off the receiver and after several minutes of the guy chatting with his mates, I hang up and call back. I get the same guy, who seemed "out of it", and explained the situation. He did not understand. After multiple passes, I get him to understand that we're missing a pizza and to make two of the same pizzas. Mid sentence he starts talking to other people about other thing, without warning for several minutes. At this point the driver is heading there way. I ask him to check my order. He explains that there is no such order. That's bewildering, as I have a receipt right here. At this point I call and text the driver (no reply at any point but that's not relevant to this review). Within moments of arriving, the driver... picks up my order? So my order is there? Ok well now the driver is on the way with half the order but at least it's what we ordered... right? WRONG! No drink and the pizza is missing ALL the toppings. It's ice cold, greasy and burnt on the edges. God awful and will never order again. read more

I would give this 1 star. I order cheese pizza on the Toast Takeout app and it said it would be ready at 6:30. So I took the time and drove over there. Not only it wasn't ready, they weren't aware that I ordered. I gave them my name and showed them my order on the app. That's when I decided to tell them to give me a credit.
