Chicken Taco

I genuinely don't thing I've had a worse taco.... Service was okay, people there were nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place is clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But the food? Omg? Each bite I took of these tacos made me increasingly more aggravated and upset I literally had to stop bc I was making myself mad. Idk if the other stuff on the menu is good but don't get these tacos pls.

This time-worn little diner is located in a small, obscure plaza. The clientele seems to skew older. I have passed by it from time to time and decided to give it a try for lunch on a weekday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have several booths indoors and some outdoor seating as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You order at the counter and your food is brought to your table. The menu board has many options, mostly sandwiches and burgers. I decided on a chicken club sandwich and a strawberry milkshake. This stacked sandwich had fresh lettuce, tomato, and avocado along with some pieces of real chicken breast (not the sliced deli stuff) and crisp bacon. It was presented cut into four pieces which made for easy handheld eating. The shake was superb, very flavorful, topped with whipped cream and even had a strawberry in the glass. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to bus my table after eating but saw a tub near the counter so deposited my finished plate there. 3.5 stars rounded up due to friendly service.

"Is just fruit flies" according to your employee, Hot Off the Grill.

On Saturday morning, my husband and I visited your Seal Beach, CA location after noticing an advertisement while passing by. It was our first time at your restaurant. We ordered two burger deals--my husband got an Orange Bang, and I got an Orange Fanta. While waiting for our food, my husband began drinking his beverage directly from the cup. After a few sips, he noticed several black specks inside. Upon closer inspection, he discovered that his drink contained multiple fruit flies. Alarmed, we immediately informed the cashier, Claudia. What was most concerning was not just the contaminated drink, but the response we received. Before my husband could finish explaining, Claudia interrupted, saying, "There's fruit flies," and replaced his cup without any apology or further action. No sign was placed to warn other customers, and no attempt was made to address or remove the contaminated dispenser. When I approached her again to ask for the manager, Claudia stated that she was the manager. I explained that my husband had unknowingly consumed fruit flies, and expressed my concern about the lack of apology and corrective action. Claudia's response was, "It's just fruit flies," followed by refusal to post a warning sign or clean the machine. When I mentioned that I would report this to the health department, her reply was, "Do whatever you want." This response was extremely unprofessional and dismissive of a clear health and safety issue. My husband consumed a contaminated drink, and other customers remain at risk since no corrective measures were taken. I find this unacceptable. I am requesting that this matter be taken seriously, that the dispenser be properly inspected and sanitized, and that appropriate action be taken regarding the lack of accountability shown by your staff. I would appreciate a call back to discuss how your company intends to address this issue. I have left a review on your company page with my contact information. I also called and left a message, with my contact information. No response. This picture was when he had already drank, almost half way down. Imagine how many he accidentally swallowed!?

The rude woman in the back is incompetent to work in any hospitality sector

Today Sunday 7/30/23 My family and I attempted to dine at "Hot Off The Grill" in Los Alamitos, CA and I'm compelled to share my disheartening experience. Being disabled I've always known that restaurants in California accommodate all customers with disabilities, in compliance with the law "Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)". Upon my arrival, however, I was met with surprising resistance by a verbally aggressive employee as I kindly asked to be seated, I am accompanied by a service dog, a companion who assists me daily due to my seizure disability, and is permitted by law to accompany me in all public places. The female who is pictured in the attached photo refused to give me her name and yelled "No dogs allowed" my dog wearing her "Medical Service Animal" vest and badge, regardless I kindly replied " It is a service animal" she need said " I don't care! No dogs allowed we have the right to refuse service" the customers seated all turned around including (2) Los Alamitos police officers. I then said "This is against the American Disability Act" and she aggressively replied "I don't care!" and completely refused to serve me due to the presence of my service dog, which is a clear violation of the ADA. I tried to explain the legalities and the importance of my service dog, but to no avail. This experience left me feeling marginalized and discriminated against. The staff's lack of understanding and empathy was quite disconcerting. It is my hope that this incident will serve as a learning opportunity for "Hot Off The Grill" to improve their staff training and awareness about the ADA. It is essential for businesses, particularly those in the hospitality sector, to ensure their operations are inclusive and non-discriminatory. For now, I'm left with no choice but to give "Hot Off The Grill" a low rating and make a complaint to the ADA. I urge potential customers, particularly those with special needs, to consider this incident before deciding to dine here. The restaurant's non-compliance with ADA laws not only diminished my dining experience, but also showed a significant lack of sensitivity towards those with disabilities. It is my hope that no other customer will have to experience the same.

Menu on the wall says $14.50 for the chicken strips dinner, but they charged $13.99 instead

What can I say? Tantalum = tantalizing…read more From start to finish, everything is brilliantly curated: atmosphere, menu, staff, and service. They've a waterfront location with the most lush environs and sumptuous atmosphere. Dark & tranquil with a hint of sexy and the bay views - come on now. The menu is so fresh and bursting with Asian flavors, and nothing was too heavy. Do try the hoisin ribs - so tender - and the chicken wraps, which were so bright; the burger was also a hit. For the table, the Buddha Rice - hearty and perfect to split. Their staff was all fantastic and it starts at the top. Manager Joe brings a genuine touch to every guest encounter -- he's rich for conversation, so grab him when he makes his rounds and allow him to suggest a fantastic wine pairing. Beautiful service all around. Also worth noting: while they're perfect for enjoying date night, they can easily accommodate larger groups as well. It may have been a rehearsal dinner or joint bachelor/ette they were hosting, but either way, they were entertaining a large party who were also having a blast. Wonderful energy, great vibes. Looking forward to visiting with friends soon!

Ambiance is nice, very romantic by the water, you can see the sunset while enjoying cocktails or a glass of wine. Food was good, I had the miso glazed mahi-mahi, I would prefer a side of salad instead of 2 cups of mashed potato, sauce was a little on the sweet side for my taste. My husband had the Scottish salmon, and he cleaned his plate, the sweet potato hash w/ pancetta was yummy.. it enhanced the taste of the salmon. My sister in-law had the pan seared scallops, I also think that the side should be optional instead of rice and there was only a few pieces of the scallops. My brother his friend had the Wasabi crusted filet mignon, which they've enjoyed but also should have options for the sides, not everyone like mashed potato, the mushrooms was a bit salty, maybe better with shitake & asparagus. We have the calamari and warm fried brie which were delicious :) Maybe they can add the fried tofu as an appetizer instead of brussels, just a suggestion. I've had the Tahitian Sunset which was too sweet for my taste but you can taste the flavor of the passion fruit , the strawberry fields was better, maybe next time I will try the cucumber crush... I will highly recommend this place, you will definite enjoy yourself with a singer/band performing while you enjoy the food.

From the moment we sat down, her attitude was rude and dismissive. She questioned my boyfriend's drink order after he had already told her what he wanted. Even after I told her I wasn't ordering an alcoholic drink, she still looked at both of us and asked, "Are you guys sure you're over 21?" The way she said it came across as condescending and unnecessary. After bringing our appetizer, she disappeared for a long time. We hadn't eaten all day and were starving, yet she repeatedly walked past our table to check on the tables around us without even acknowledging us. It made an already frustrating experience even worse. The food wasn't very good, but Elizabeth's attitude made it even worse. At one point, she asked my boyfriend if there was a problem. He calmly replied, "Yeah, and it's not the food." Instead of trying to understand or resolve the issue, she responded in a passive-aggressive tone, saying, "Then what is it, life?" Her comment was rude, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. It caught us off guard and made the situation even more uncomfortable. We left feeling completely disrespected and unwelcome. Whether we were being judged, profiled, or simply treated differently, that's exactly how the experience made us feel. No customer should be made to feel that way. If there were an option to give 0 stars, I absolutely would. Save your time and money and eat somewhere you'll be treated with respect.

This place is honestly a joke…read more We waited in line for almost 2 hours while security kept people outside for no reason -- and when we finally got in, there was so much open space inside. It wasn't even close to full. They're clearly holding people outside on purpose to create fake hype, which is honestly pretty messed up. You're telling me dozens of people are stuck waiting forever while there's plenty of room inside? It's giving manufactured crowd and poor management. To make it worse, they stopped serving drinks and turned the lights on at 1:15 AM, way earlier than literally any normal bar. So after wasting hours in line, you barely even get time inside. And it somehow gets worse -- at 1:35 AM they were literally kicking people out of the restroom. We weren't even allowed to finish or wash our hands before being rushed out. That's not just rude, it's straight up unhygienic and disrespectful. Overall, completely overhyped, disorganized, and not worth the wait at all. Don't fall for the line -- it's fake.

Upscale Restaurant on 2nd Street with Delicious Food…read more I've visited Saint & Second on multiple occasions: for drinks, a casual lunch, and my birthday dinner. Reservations are fairly easy to get, which make it an optimal choice if I'm looking to have a nice meal. The ambiance of Saint & Second is what sets it apart from other Belmont Shore restaurants. There's indoor seating and rooftop seating upstairs, and both areas are designed impeccably. The food menu changes every few months, which is great because it allows the chefs to experiment with new menu items, but I have been left missing past items. When I returned for the third time for my favorite hummus, I found that it was discontinued for a nice, but less tasty green hummus (which leaned more into an avocado flavor than traditional hummus flavor). Overall, if you'd like to return to Saint and Second, you should expect some changes to menu items every few months and plan accordingly. One appetizer I'd recommend is the tuna on crispy rice. This is a consistent item with great flavors that trump other tuna crispy rice dishes I've had at other restaurants. The amount of fish on this item is generous. If you are celebrating your birthday here like I did, they offer a delcious smores-flavored dessert. However, this dessert is not complimentary, and we were charged without the server informing us of the dessert's price. Overall, in terms of food, this restaurant offers a fresh array of menu items. I believe the server told us that their kitchen is a scratch kitchen, which contributes to the great quality of the food.
