Found this little place by searching for the best Thai food near me when I was in ABQ for biz travel. Not kidding, this little hole in the wall was top notch! For my appetizer, I had the Fresh Rolls, and they were super fresh and rolled beautifully. For my entree I had the Yellow Curry with chicken, it was a HUGE portion and so tasty. The right amount of sweet, creamy and spicy! The rice was perfection and the atmosphere was quiet and quaint. It appeared to be family owned and the gentleman who waited on me was soft spoken, and kind with a very timid demeanor. He was attentive and checked in me often throughout my lunch. Lunch/Dinner post workout, and first restaurant review of the year was at Hot Pink Thai in Albuquerque. The choice today was soup or noodles, and noodles it was! This clean , quaint strip mall location felt cozy (you can hear neighbors conversations, which depending on your personality or mood thar day can be a good thing or not). The food was fresh and came out quickly, (within 10 minutes) allowing us to leave and arrive on time for our next stop. Having eaten plenty of pad Thai, I appreciate that the peanut sauce carried throughout, without having to ask for more! (A nice treat!) the price was reasonable for the portion size received... 5/5. I placed an order for pick up. I was told it would take 30 minutes. I ordered the vegetable egg rolls and ton yum seafood soup. I eat Thai once a week and always on a work trip. The vegetable eggrolls, 6 to an order were light, perfectly fried and came with two sides of fish dipping sauce. They are good and I was satisfied. The Tom yum seafood soup is absolutely disappointing! The broth is clear; usually the broth is flavorful, has depth, lots of seasoning and spices. Check out my photo and you'll see how clear the broth is. Also, there's more vegetables (cabbage, broccoli, carrots) than seafood. I have eaten Tom yum seafood over 50 times and I have never seen those above mention vegetables in it! The shrimp were good . Two nights in a row, I ordered oriental food and both bad meals. Maybe it's a sign to not eat oriental food in Albuquerque. read more

Hot Pink? Brings up other connotations. But hey the name gets noticed. We go into a small place - about 8 tables. We are greeted by a server who tells us to sit anywhere. He drops off the menus and gets our drinks. Lots of choices. We start with pot stickers, deep fried (not normal for us) But hot & crispy with a flavorful dipping sauce. Curry's my go to so red with pork for me. According to the chart I opt for mild. After Eating I could have gone for my usual medium. The wife got green with chicken. Lunch came in to-go containers. You're warned ahead of time, no surprises here. Bowl of rice into the curry and feast away. As I said mild heat was too mild for me. We filled up with no room for the Mango Rice, my favorite dessert. We did end up with lunch for both of us the next day. Our meals were good, nothing really stood out to compare with other like places. Not spectacular, not bad either! read more

First time ordering here and I really liked the fried rice!! Good flavors and not too greasy. I like the spice too nice and hot. I've tried a few different places and the fried rice is always bland but this place has good seasoning. The pot stickers were nice too with the sauce. We went to Hot Pink on a Thursday night for dinner. We initially thought the restaurant was closed since there wasn't a single car in the parking spaces out front or diner in the restaurant. The owner (and sole employee) seemed completely indifferent we were patronizing the restaurant. We ordered Sprites, which came as bottles we poured into styrofoam cups. I ordered the pad Thai with tofu, mild spice. The dishes were delivered on paper plates, and after they were dropped off we did not see the server again. The pad Thai was quite bland, and my husband's pineapple fried rice was both dry and tasteless. After waiting, I needed to walk up to the window to ask for our check. The owner was watching videos on his phone and seemed unconcerned we were there. No other diners came in to dine, which absolutely made sense after we experienced the lack of service, the disposable cups and plates, and the lack of any music or atmosphere. First off, I love the name of this place. Mostly because I get to see people's expressions when I recommend the place. The food is delicious and good bang for buck. We got the veg egg rolls, Vietnamese rolls, green curry fried rice (I didn't even know such a thing could exist) and a noodle dish. We got about six egg rolls which is unprecedented in the history of Asian restaurants and egg roll portion sizes. That itself amounts to a whole meal! The green curry fried rice is, in a word, a genius concept. I couldn't have timed it better because on that particular day, I was craving fried rice and also the warmth or a green curry. The Vietnamese spring rolls were well received by the husband. I wish they came with different fillings but that's alright. The husband also reported that the noodles were alright and that's high praise since he's not a big fan of Thai food. As for the spice, I got the medium level, but honestly did not feel the spice too much. Probably because it was a rice dish? This is my office's go-to spot whenever we're craving Thai food! We've been able to do big orders with at least 8 different dishes, and we've never had issues making sure everything is right. We've learned to order at least 45 minutes in advance, but everything is always piping hot and fresh when we go to pick up. From their noodles dishes to their curry, everything has been really delicious. The spicy levels can be a bit of a gamble, so if you're weak like me, aim for mild! Based on Yelp recommendations, we decided to have a late lunch here while passing through Albuquerque. What a perfect choice. The restaurant is a small place located at the end of a strip mall. It was quiet, clean and pleasantly decorated. The service was fast and friendly, the prices were reasonable and the portions were hearty. Most importantly, the food was delicious!!! We started with the chicken satay which was very tasty and cooked to perfection. I had the mixed vegetables with tofu (with medium heat) which had a nice array of vegetables and was served with an eggroll and jasmine rice. My boyfriend had the yellow curry with chicken (with medium heat) which had just the right kick and the most wonderful taste. (I can't wait to try to recreate this one at home with big, juicy shrimp). It was also served with an eggroll and jasmine rice. We both had enough leftovers for dinner as well. I've driven by this joint a million times. I can't believe I've never dined here. It's centrally located at San Pedro and Menaul. The ambiance leaves a lot to be desired. The was are decorated with Thai artwork. Basic ceramic tile floor. Very basic chairs and table. Probably best for lunch. I ordered a Pepsi, but they only have coke products. Idk why because it came in a bottle. I like my Pepsi! I started with potstickers. They were very good. For my entree I had drunken noodles with shrimp. It was a big heaping portion served on an oval paper plate. The sauce was watery, but tasty enough. A little too spicy considering I ask for mild spice. Overall the food was disappointing. I don't recall specific entrees we ordered but the food was similar. The menu described a noodle dish with assorted vegetables. What we received was a plate of noodles which were dry and with only hints of vegetables in my case one small broccoli bit and a fragment of cabbage. Both our dishes had very few bits of flavorless meat. Finally I had the Rangoon appetizer which claimed to contain crab, all they contained was a mass of cream cheese. This is my new favorite thai place. I'm disappointed that I haven't been here sooner. The location is a little odd but the food and service is good. I've had the pad thai, red curry and fried rice from here. The flavors are so amazing and the portions are just right. I am a spicy addict and will recommend that anyone else that is also a spicy addict let this be known to your server. The spice (spicy) levels aren't as hot compared to other thai restaurants. This restaurant, located in a small strip of businesses at the Northwest end of the Staples/Guitar Center parking lot, has been around since my undergraduate days at UNM. Yesterday I dropped by for the first time in years, and was surprised to find that the name had changed to Hot Pink. Luckily, the food was as good as ever. You could call this a hole-in-the-wall, or a mom & pop restaurant, as the owners also cook and serve the food. The menu features quaint color photos of various items, with the options spanning the standard range of Thai cuisine: curries, rice dishes, noodle dishes, and soups. This time I had the pad see ew, while my companion selected the pad thai. The lunch specials are a great deal, as we received our entrees for a few dollars off normal menu price, and our food also came with a vegetable egg roll, hot and crispy. My noodles were delicious, cooked just the way I like. The broccoli was firm and the chicken exceeded expectations. I considered adding sriracha, but the dish stood on its own feet and ended up needing no further seasoning. Albuquerque is blessed with a great selection of Thai restaurants (and Vietnamese, Chinese, etc), and I encourage people to eat around and find places they really enjoy. I was impressed with Hot Pink, and though my loyalty still likes with Thai II, I will gladly return. read more

We love this place. We eat here all the time. We tried almost everything on the menu & never not like anything. The guy who works there is really nice. Only down side is that food can take so long sometimes. Even for pick up. I only ordered a Thai basil chicken & that took 25 minutes. But I guess at least I know they make everything fresh.
