Tried hotpot at this location for lunch with friends. They have a clean restaurant, lovely decor, places to take pictures, trinkets around the place. The staff are generally excellent, they took care of my party and all of our needs. I wished that they would orient us to the process and let us know where to put our dishes once the food was completed, but otherwise they were very pleasant and helpful. The food was fresh, the broth was very meaty in flavour. And there are secret sauce recipes that you can find online to mix their sauces for something unique and delicious. The meat was fresh, as were the veggies. My one complaint was that the condiment table was not well stocked, I wish they had someone to do this, as everytime I went to get fruit or rolls there were small amounts, and when the rolls ran out, they were not replenished. This was at approximately 1:30 pm, so lots of time left in the buffet for lunch. If you like hot pot I think you will enjoy this. The interior was very Chinese oriental style, the furniture and utensils were quite detail-oriented. The place was spacious, which provided a good ambience for both group party and intimate dining. Food was OK. There were some meat items that were great, some were so-so. One I think was beef which was thick-cut and hard to chew, squid wasn't recommended either. We went for the Yin-Yang hot pot, and the spicy side was really the authentic Sichuan type of numbing spicy, so spicy food lovers be aware. All you can eat menu is extensive, we did not feel the need to order from the paid items menu. The traditional spicy soup base at level 2 spicy has a good kick, and gets spicier the longer it boils. Staff are fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin and come by often to change plates, refill soup base, and refill water. Love the decor for this hot pot restaurant. Upon entry, you scan the QR code on your phone and everything can be ordered from there. For regular adult it was $29.99 (AYCE) and for seniors $19.99. There are different types of soup base where you pay an additional fee. You can get individual pot or share. For the soup base, I chose the one with crab, additional $6 something. The aroma was so nice. There are some items where you can pay additional for on the menu. I thought even the list that you don't need to pay additional was extensive enough. The beef was fresh and thinly sliced, shrimp paste, dumplings, wonton, corn, tofu products, shrimp, clams, fish fillet, squid, calamari, different types of fish balls, stuffed fish balls with meat and the list goes on. We are always looking for new hot pot restaurants during our yearly visits. The flyer caught our attention but ended up it was only for June 1st. Kind of misleading. Pros: - good variety - cooked items not bad - mini station with condiments, dessert, shrimp, chicken, etc was good. But I would recommend a cover over the condiments as there were flies. Cons: - our food came before our broth which took a while to boil. Typically the broth should arrive first. - the spicy broth was spicy but not much flavor. - after the mushroom broth was refilled, it was super salty. A group of us took advantage of the current promotion where 1 person dines free if you bring 3 others (exclude drinks and soup base, cash only). The moment you stepped inside the restaurant, you were time traveled back to ancient Chinese era. The chairs, the tables, the decorations, the rooms for bigger parties, even to the beam screamed "dynasty era"! The menus were via QR-code, and the sauce bar was in the center of the restaurant, along with a few cold side dishes as well as some Chinese desserts. We ordered the crab pork bone soup base for our AYCE dinner ($33.99/ person on weekdays). The soup was pork bone soup base with the addition of crab paste mixed with it, very "crabby" in terms of aroma and taste, yet didn't overpower any of the food we cooked! Unfortunately, we had a little "OH CRAB!" moment (excuse the pun)... Perhaps it was the colour of our soup, one of the server mistakenly used the wrong soup base when he refilled our pot- he added the tomato soup into a pot of pork bone soup. Once the soup boiled, some of us smelled the acidity from the tomato coming from the pot, and one of us tried a sip of the new mixture before confirming it was indeed the wrong soup was added. We immediately notified our server. At first, he didn't understand what the issue was (language barrier?), until one of my friend explained the situation again. The manager was even called to the situation, but we were extremely disappointed with how she handled it- she chose to ignore the situation and looked like she didn't want to deal with it and said nothing (not even apologizing on behalf of her staff's mistake!) The server apologized for his mistake again and again, and tried to rectify the situation by adding more diluted pork bone soup and gave us a plate full of the special crab paste, hoping the tomato taste would be gone. However the soup was already contaminated and the tomato taste was still there despite the amount of crab paste and pork bone soup they have added. One of my friend who's sensitive to tomato, couldn't finished her meal. Luckily the incident happened near the end of our meal so she was at least 85% full. By the time we paid, the bill came up to $36/ person after all discounts and tips. We were hoping the manager would void the cost of the soup base ($12.95) due to her staff's error, but given that no acknowledgement nor apologies were given, we didn't expect it to happen. What a beautiful place! The interior was spectacular! I'm amazed by how detailed the venue is. Everything from the structures and floors were imported from China, as per a staff. The food and quality matched its interior. We were all happy to eat to our content as it is AYCE ($33.99/per person). The selection was great as they had every item we wanted for a good hotpot experience. We were here last Thursday after attending an event nearby at approximately 8:30pm. It was a very quiet night so it was nice to dine in peace and distant from other diners. The restaurants has many private dining rooms for larger parties which is nice for my future celebrations. The staff were super friendly and continually ensured we had enough to eat before their last call for food before they close the restaurant. One staff member offered us to taste their desserts, especially the alcoholic rice dessert which wasn't strong of sake flavour but very easy to eat. Parking is inside the building and is complimentary for dining guests for the first 4 hours. So remember to have your parking tickets validated. The servers all look so unhappy to be there, no one bothered to tell us how to order or where the QR codes were. Normally soup base will arrive first to allow it to boil, ours took 15 mins while the dishes came first. I was skeptical at first as I've not been to a AYCE hot pot place. I am worry the ingredients they served will be crap. But to my surprise....all the selection under the AYCE menu is great. High quality ( except the seafood) , lots of choice and everything we ordered are fresh and taste good. They certainly did missed some of the stuff we ordered, and I have to asked for the staff to help , but is all you can eat- you can just order again... seafood selection is very limited but the meat selection is great. Vegetables are very fresh and lots of selection as well. They also have a bar to make your own dipping sauce, the type of sauces is not too bad as well. The place is huge and deco is impeccable, very grand looking. Cleanliness was ok- acceptable but not outstanding. Service is almost close to none. I booked a table online and was lead to our table and we were left there on our own. No one came by to tell us what to do? How to order ? I figured it out myself by scanning the barcode and start ordering. I almost like a self serve environment until you need help, you can ask for attention. Hot Pot 9 is a well rounded experience - both times I've been here I've received fast and friendly service. The decor is quite nice and they definitely try to put you in the ancient Chinese interiors kind of setting. There is a set price per person for all you can eat, as well as a cost associated with the soup base you choose (I think you can choose boiling water for 0 cost but that's a bit boring). Our bill for a group of 5 turned out to be around $50/person. The selection of items is huge and they bring orders out relatively quickly. Some items are considered premium so still have an individual price associated with them - my groups so far haven't been hungry enough to try those and have definitely been satisfied by the standard offerings, such as lamb, pork belly, beef, seafood, various meatballs and fish balls, and many more. There is a sauce station with a few appetizers and ingredients (sesame paste, sesame oil, cumin, ginger, green onion, sugar, chili oil, etc.) for you to make a dipping sauce. There are no instructions - I never asked anyone for help so I kind of just made sauces randomly but if you know what flavour profile you want and know which ingredients to use, you'll be able to go to town here. It's worth noting that if you don't speak mandarin (which I don't) and you've never had hot pot in a restaurant before (which I have) it can be slightly intimidating - there's very little explanation and if you ask some of the servers, some might struggle to explain. In fact, the first time I came, there was a bit of a wait and their system would send me updates in Chinese (which I can only barely read). Overall, though it's a bit pricy, I would return and would be happy to introduce friends to Hot Pot 9. They have a great variety of soup bases, items, and sauce ingredients at their sauce station, and it's a good experience for first timers and veterans alike. read more

Hot pot 9 decor is amazing, takes you back to the olden days perfect setting for hot pot dinner. Got here at 5:30pm and it was already packed only 2 tables left or the wait would've been over 2 hours according to staff. Back to the decor the fine detail and the workmanship is a work of art. The plates and the hot pot itself with the dragon head adds to the atmosphere. They bring out the food quickly and you order yourself via your cellphone so it was very easy to manage. They have a section to make your own sauce with almost everything you will need. The meat quality itself was pretty good. However it was a very good dinner but only thing lacking was the dessert which we didn't have any cause they ran out. That shouldn't be the case as it is premade dessert and it was still early in the night when we were done. So minus 1 star there for that. read more

This was the worst experience that I've had at a hotpot restaurant. Despite ordering multiple rounds of food, our orders were not fulfilled properly. We ordered 8 shrimps, only 2 was presented to us (how were we supposed to share it between 4 people?!). We ordered veggies, mushrooms and it did not arrive until I specifically asked the server for it (this happened multiple times for multiple different ingredients). The quality of the food was mediocre (many other hotpot restaurants have better quality). The shrimp paste was not as good as other hotpot places. Everything we ordered, we received less than half of the quantity. After 1.5 hours I was not even full (and I am a tiny 5'2" female).
