This place is so good I've been twice in the last 2 weeks. Service, decor and food quality are high. You have the traditional broths, but I prefer the Tom Yum and rich pork bone broths. If you love spicy my friends really enjoyed the Golden Hot Sour and Szechuan Hot & Spicy. Very rich in flavor and even after you refill it expect the strong flavors to still be there. Everything is self serve from the veggies, meats and seafood. Each table has a little stand at the edge to put all of your empty or dirty silver/tableware. I love how fresh the food is. The produce is nice and crisp. Yes, some of the meats may come lightly frozen, but nothing a hot broth can't fix. The lobster balls, lamb, and snow crab legs are a must order. The sauce stations to our tables were constantly being cleaned. They currently are only open during dinner. If you have a party of over 8 you may have to wait a bit. I'd recommend calling ahead just incase the restaurant gets packed. Don't forget to let them know if its your bday and they offer a nice discount as well. We went there on to celebrate Mother's Day and had a wonderful time! They have a great selection of meats, veggies, and noodle on their buffet. Feeling adventurous? ; you can get frog legs, tofu, beef tripe, and or go for the classics like their freshly sliced beef, lamb and chicken. For Mother's Day we got a free lobster. We all got the pork bone broth that was flavorful and delicious! It was great that the drinks winter melon green tea and lemonade came complimentary with our dinner. There was also a sauce bar, and dessert bar too. The staff is helpful and friendly. The place is spacious, and we also love the traditional Chinese decor! The best place to satisfy your Hot Pot cravings! They provide individual soup bowls and burners so that each person can choose their own broth base and cook what they please (rather than sharing in one big bowl). Customer service is great and responsive, and they explain all the instructions clearly. The quality and variety of food in their buffet is amazing and well worth the $27.99 special. I totally didn't take enough pictures but the ambiance and design of the place puts Hot Pot King on another level. Great place in The Hub to stop by for some all you can eat individualized hot pot! To start off you pick a soup base. I chose the mild Szechuan, which was pretty spicy! They have a huge assortment of foods to pick from for the hotpot. All sorts of noodles including udon and vermicelli, a variety of mushrooms and tofus, seaweed, canned quail eggs and fish balls. For the seafoods options there were snow crab legs, shrimp, frozen clams and mussels, crawfish and squid/octopus. They also had a variety of thinly sliced meats. After picking some items we stopped by the sauce bar. I ended up not really using the sauces I mixed bc the soup itself was pretty flavorful (and a bit too salty) that I didn't need to dip the items in anything. They also have a bunch of items for dessert, and if you ask the staff they can get ice cream from the back for you! read more

Glad to see that this place is now open -- we had been to the Hub over the summer but it was closed. It's a fun hot pot experience. Everyone has their own pot and burner, and it definitely makes for a great social outing as everyone is cooking their own food (we spent maybe 2.5 hours). When you arrive, you first choose your broth, as you eat some yummy appetizers already on the table which you can ask for more of. Lots of options for broth. I think the pork bone broth is pretty popular. I tried the tom yum as it was new and I am always a fan of tom yum, but it ended up being sweeter than I was used to (another friend said the same). It definitely provided a good spice though. Only when you get your broth, can you start going up to get your ingredients. I was pleased with the large selection of meats, seafood, veggies. There is also fruit punch and winter melon tea on tap (would recommend diluting - very sweet), and a full sauce station. Dessert section was pretty disappointing though, as there were just some cream puffs and little mousse things that left more to be desired. They also only had vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate ice cream when we were there. You can BYOB. Service was pretty good. Nice decor. Tip included with parties of 5 or more I think. The difficult part is that the table fills up with empty trays and containers pretty quickly so it's hard to eat comfortably. There is a little cart at the end of the table so you can start stacking your empty plates, etc, but even that gets filled up pretty quickly and the table feels cramped. The other qualm I have, and this is with the Hub (the food court that this is located in) in general, is that it's pretty packed in there. It seems other reviews have noted this too. Over the summer, there was plenty of distance between parties, but that isn't the case anymore. There's people standing around everywhere, and parties are seated closely near other tables. With Hot Pot King, everyone lines up in close proximity to get the ingredients, and are all touching the same serving utensils buffet style. Hot Pot King just opened inside the Hub and it's amazing! It's an AYCE Hotpot place with a little twist. There's a buffet area where you get your toppings for your hotpot vs the norm of ordering dishes. The Hot Spicy Butter broth was very tasty! My brother got the pork bone soup and also enjoyed that. There's also a little dish area next to your table for empty dishes which I thought was very convenient. They also had complimentary drinks and dessert! We were able to get a choice of strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, choco-mint or green tea ice cream! The dining area was a lot more spacious than I thought and was a pleasant surprise. I like this place because it's in a very convenient food court where I can get most of my favorite food. This place is all you can eat hotspot. There are varieties of soup base that you can choose. Tbh, all of the soup base tastes the same as I have tried 4 different soup bases here. They have lots of meats , veggies, and couple noodle to choose. You can eat as much as you can and the price is $29.99 per person which is typically the same price for most of the all you can eat hotspot in the area. The desserts were okay, not as great as I thought. You can ask for ice cream, they will bring it to your table (they do not allow you to open the fridge to take the ice cream out yourself due to COVID). One of the guys who working there never come back for my sprite when we asked. We were waiting for like 20 mins and I never seen him come back. I had to ask the girl, Mimi, and she came back with our soda so quickly. Overall, this is a good place to hang out with friends, food is okay, not the best. We were sat within 15mins coming in on a Saturday evening. We did call ahead on the way to get on the waitlist. Once sat there was already popcorn chicken and some banchan for us to snack on! I ordered the Szechuan broth without butter then headed to the food like to grab all the necessities. Yes, you have to go up and get all yours meats and veggies but luckily everything is already placed in individual plates and super easy to grab. Also so many options to choose from! They even had blue crab! I made my way to the sauce bar and also had some winter melon tea. The broth was soo delicious, you can tell it was better than other spots! The service was quick and friendly. There were carts going around clearing dishes and also refilling water and broths. I highly recommend ppl giving this spot a try! I've tried the mushroom and the herbal broth and I highly recommend the herbal one. Mushroom was amazing too but I found it a tad salty in the end. They have fresh ingredients and so much variety. Check out her review for another perspective :) This was my first time ever getting hot pot, but I was with a group who were able to guide me on what to get and how it works. Essentially, you select the soup that you want base-wise, which can be a pork type, spicier, vegetarian, etc. They then fill up your soup, it starts boiling, and then you go to the veggie/meat bar to fill up on various things to add to your pot. This includes a variety of different types of veggies, meats, seafood, tofu, etc. You then go back to your table, and get the veggies in because they take longer to cook typically. The meats that are raw, they are very thinly sliced and thus take a lot less time to cook, FYI! The AMAZING flavor comes from the sauce bar! There are a ton of different types of sauce, such as garlic sauce, chili sauce, soy sauce, etc. You grab a bowl, then combine with different flavors to create an epic dipping sauce for the meats that you grab out of the bowl as they cook. I personally love garlic based sauces, and thus the roasted garlic and the garlic sauces they had were amazing! Right below your bowl of boiling soup there is a switch that you can increase and decrease the temp. That is nice because once your meal is nearing an end, you might want to turn down the heat in order to enjoy your meal without piping hot meat...but it is totally up to your preference! There was hand sanitizer available for your use at each place where you would be grabbing a utensil or grabbing your toppings, which I thought was nice. And there were little side tables for larger parties that were further apart from other tables, which in my view should make people feel more comfortable and distanced if you're concerned. read more

I love this place! I came here on a date...and got distracted by the unique decor and lighting LOL. Our appetizers came out before we were seated. This is more of a buffet type of hot pot place so we got to choose our own meats instead of ordering from a menu. They have a solid variety of meats, seafood, and veggies to choose from. I didn't like that the meats were so cold that it was stuck to the tray, which made them hard to take off. We literally had to put our trays on top of the hot pot to heat them up. Tired after a day of travel so forgot to check in and take pictures. But the place was incredible. A truly all-you-can-eat hotpot place with all the dishes available for grabbing, rather than having to order. All the meat and vegetables are of solid quality, but the biggest surprise for us was the offal selections. Pork liver and pork kidney were juicy and tender (recommend cook for longer to well done), could taste the fresheness. Beef tripes were bouncy, no bad taste at all. Duck blood was smooth as silk. For some these may not be very attractive, but if you love offal for your hotpot, this is the place no question. The place is now our No.1 hotpot place in Baltimore after only one try. Two issues though: service could be a bit slow and spotty, and the place could be very noisy and crowded during peak hours. read more

They started out giving us style popcorn chicken (included!). The selection of broth wax verrry good. The food was buffet style, as we grab the meats, sides and noodles ourselves. This is actually very smart as it was something for us do as our soup boiled, and we didnt have to wait for waiters to serve it. We grabbed everything we needed in the beginning and then enjoyed ourselves full. They had an AMAZINGGG selection of seafood including raw oysters which is something I don't see a lot of other hot pot restaurant have. It was all included! Came here with my husband because we've tried most of the other places. We found it nice that this place offered a variety of seafood. The pots they give each person is rather tiny and the placements of where they sit on the table is odd and uncomfortable. It's literally an inch or two from the edge where you are seated. I didn't like the fact that you go up for all your own items: meats, veggies, seafood, soup spoons, literally everything. We came during dinner, so at one point about 15 people were up grabbing things. The place isn't that large, so it feels like people are hovering over one another for food and sauces. Pricing is decent for $31.99/person. Our meats we chose were actually like rock hard frozen and our server directed us to place the plate over the soup pots to defrost it which didn't seem right. I came here for the seafood and actually ended up not even getting the crab because the pot is so small that a crab cluster wouldn't make sense to put in it. It doesn't seem like the place is necessarily that clean because it is dark and the table felt a little sticky. Our server was nice and it's nice that they come around often and pick up your use trays. However, the experience was not like I experienced at other locations. Food: I have been to a few hot pot places in the area and "Hot Pot King" is definitely my favorite. The soups are individual for each person. I like how to why have the different ingredients set up in the back with a buffet style set up. Everything is clearly labeled. The appetizers they give you are delicious. We decided fried chicken and some pickled vegetables. You're also able to have some of their green tea which I'm a big fan of. I had the pork bone broth this time around. So good and tastes great with all the other ingredients. Since this review I've been 2 other times already! Service: There's a button on the table that lets you call for the waiters. I came here with a friend on Tuesday around 6pm and we got seated right away. When you walk in you notice the interior and it is very beautiful, it is a bit dark inside though. You get seated and a server will come around to get your order for your soup base, i got mushroom. They also give you appetizers: bean sprouts, seaweed salad, spicy cucumbers, and karaage. For the ingredients you walk to the back and they have a variety of different things to add in your soup. They don't have separate tongs for the ingredients and they will be mixed up from people putting them in different ingredients, so if you have any allergies it's probably best you use chopsticks or ask for new tongs. In the winter hot pot is life. And Hot Pot King DELIVERS. The selection is great. At this location you order your type of broth and get appetizers right off the bat. Then you take yourself to the wondrous room of tasty treats and grab whatever you want. You'll want to pace yourself as the tray can only carry so much. The only thing I'd change is having the soup bowl and utensils on the table instead of picking it up yourself. It takes up precious tray space. But I did a quick back and forth run to grab the utensils then food then to the sauce bar. Sit down and just enjoy! The atmosphere is great too. Recently opened hot pot place in the area within The Hub Asian Food Court. They check your temperature once you enter. The decor in there is very pretty! Even have virtual aquarium on two of their columns that my daughter absolutely loved! Once you sit they bring out appetizers/sides and you choose type of broth you want. I chose Taiwanese tomato soup (because they didn't have tom yum soup like other hot pot places) and my husband got pork bone broth. They were both good. Pork bone broth reminded me of pork ramen soup. Also, I'm glad they didn't make the popcorn chicken spicy like they're usually made so my 4 year old can eat it. Once you choose your broth and they bring it out, you would need to get the food items you want in your hot pot yourself. Pretty wide selections of vegetables, meats and seafood. They also have sauce station, where you can make your own sauce. However my husband was really disappointed shacha sauce was not one of the choices. Hands down the best hot pot spot in the Baltimore area! I am so glad this little gem opened up down the street from me. First off, their hostess is super friendly which I can appreciate. They are set up a little different than other places around here. Instead of ordering on a tablet, you can physically go get your fixins at the back of the restaurant. This method is extremely useful because you can choose how much you're getting and see what it is as well. Additionally, they have such a large variety of options for seafood, meat and veggies. They have oysters, crab legs, squid, shrimp, frog legs, fish balls and crawfish to name a few. It's ayce for about 28 bucks including dessert and the free juice at the buffet station. Also, if you prefer soft drinks they sell them separately for about $1 each. Can't best those prices!! Last but not least the set up inside is fairly spacious and looks beautiful. We were up in Baltimore exploring a posible move. After looking, we wanted to check how long it would take to get to Ellicott City/Catonsville as well as pick up lunch. After our first choice had too long of a wait {Father's Day}, we tried Hot Pot King. Glad we did. When we were sat, the table had a number of plates of small dishes including Karage & spicy cucumber. They were quite good. The selection of broths was quite good. We had the pickled cabage broth {really quite good and a little edgier on spice than the menu indicated} and Tom Yum. The tom yum was great to start but as I cooked more and more, it seems to show a sweetness. Next time we will try the pork bone broth and I will have the pickled cabbage. After you get your broth in an individual pot, you go tot he back to pick up your items to cook, most of which are pre portioned in small dishes. There was a huge selection. Also being Father's Day, we got a lobster which was frozen and quite briny. Probably the most disappointing thing we had. On the other hand, there were winners galore. The best items were bamboo shoots, slices sausage, spam, sliced pork loin, sliced pork belly, fried taro root, some sort of small shao mai style dumpling, oysters {we cooked them and they held up well}, shrimp, frozen tofu, bean curd stick, assorted fish cakes, several types of fish balls. Only so-so were small sausages and several of the seafood items. But the very good way outweighed any misses. The service was really good despite the staff clearly being hard pressed to keep up with the Father's Day crowd and we came in after the first wave. There is just a continuing flow of people rotating around the tables clearing plates, pouring water or adding broth, and in general making sure everything was going well. They are running a $29.99 special and at that price, it is a good deal. This was out first Hot Pot in the Ellicott City/Catonsville corridor so we can't compare, but we do eat a lot of hotpot in DC area and they clearly are a player. read more
