It's our go-to kbbq spot here in Fairfield and I never leave here unsatisfied. It's nothing fancy but it gets the job done. My personal favorite is the beef belly! I always get my garlic, lettuce, corn cheese, steamed egg, and onion on the side. The sauces are pretty basic but I don't mind?? My Family and I come here 1x a week! We prefer weekday for faster service and most importantly it is less crowded. We Always have an amazing servers, super friendly and attentive to details and always making sure our grill gets changed often. This place serves huge portions of every protein. Definitely a 5 star experience. Our server on Sunday (08/20) was phenomenal. Everyone was attentive and helpful. Everything was super fast. There was only like 4-5 other tables around but it was all super quick. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, they played a lot of different pop music. It seemed very clean and well organized. There was a noticeable flow in the restaurant. The food was good and the marinated meat was delicious. We ordered a variety of different things. They changed our grill twice which was nice. I would definitely go back again. When I read the negative reviews after my meal, I was surprised. The bad service must have come from someone else who works there. Maybe it was way to busy and they were understaffed. Maybe the customers themselves were rude and pretentious. There are a lot of factors when it comes to food service. Where do I start?! I so wanted to love this place as my 13 year old is super into Korean food. Let's start. Making the reservation, supper simple on the google reservations. I actually thought it was super thorough and gave you insight on what to expect. We arrive and we are greeted and seated relatively quickly. I think that is where the positives end. Let's talk about our server, he was so slow. He didn't make any recommendations. He didn't advise that refills were not FREE. I racked up roughly $50 in drinks because A. He was slow people kept refilling their drinks while we waited for the meat to be delivered. The last set of drinks took about 15 mins which is highly unacceptable. He didn't show any interest really in our group. I rang the bell like 5 times before he came over. I asked for the cake to be brought out with the song. Do you know he brought the cake to me not even the birthday girl, no song no candle no nothing. Keep in mind a smaller table across the way not even 5 mins ago had their nice bday song and candle. But mine, he just brought the cake?! WTH. So I said, hey where is her candle and song? He begrudgingly took the cake back and brought it back with the candle and the song. I now have the bill and I'm super annoyed. The server had automatic gratuity of $91 and we were treated as an afterthought. Nope. Not. OK. Food: the food was decent, I came more for the experience for my 13 year old. The shrimp had the head on and wasn't cleaned. I think it's a cultural thing. But the steak and pork were the best things. The little margarita was cool. Payment time: remember I told you they send the lengthy text with tips and rules. No where on there did it mention they do not accept AMEX! I only carry AMEX! So now I'm in panic mode. Thankfully, my capital one has a digital card in their app that I was able to use. Imagine how pissed I would've been if technology hadn't evolved. In short, I am waiting to talk to a manager for a resolution. The first local KBBQ I have tried. I have been to so many kbbqs places, in SF and South Bay, and this is the first one I have tried in my area.  TIP: if going on a weekend, call in advance to make a reservation! I reserved a table for dinner and called in the morning the same day. I have also called the day before to make a reservation. This place can get crowded really fast! And I think it's because there isn't a lot of kbbq places in this area.  We recently went over the weekend. The music was really loud, so it was hard to hear the server. Each table does have a ringer button, and we did use it and they came! But because it was so busy, sometimes, the server would get confused and check on a different table even though we were the one who rang.  For AYCE, the meat selection was decently good. Our favorite was the Hawaiian Bulgogi . We were a party of 8. We ordered 2 of everything and spent about 2 hours at this place.  Soju is extra charge, but we did order 4 bottles to do shots around the table. This was the first time I had seen Tropical flavored soju and trying it - it is now my new favorite!! So smooth, and you can't really taste the alcohol either!! I need to find where to buy! We also ordered the seafood pancake and the vegetable pancake - be aware that theses items are not included in the AYCE and are extra charge. There is an automatic service fee for parties greater than 6! Overall, I would say this place is decent and gets the kbbq craving fix done if I am not doing much and don't want to drive.  But, I will say, my favorite kbbq places still remain in South Bay and SF - so I will still be driving far on occasion to get my craving fixed over there! Everything was of high quality and tasted great l, wish they had some more seasonings and sauces on the table for you to mix with. Best part for me was the Soju, we tried the grapefruit, mango and Green grape. All were so delicious and you can drink so much of it .... Careful it will creep up on you. Staff was friendly at times but the restaurant was super busy and packed for a Wednesday night. I was surprised to find an awesome Korean restaurant near us when visiting my parents for the holidays, and it's now become our go-to Korean spot for when we get together! There's an option for AYCE at roughly $40 per person or a-la-carte selection. We opted for the latter and enjoyed a bunch of dishes: beef bulgogi, bibimbap, squid, spicy bbq chicken, tofu soup, and of course all the delicious banchan that come with the meal. All the flavors were on point, and they were at the appropriate spiciness levels for each selection. (Thank god because Taco Bell mild salsa is my spice limit...) The servers were all very welcoming and upbeat and kept things moving and grooving. It wasn't too crowded at all despite going on a weekend, which is such a nice change of pace from all the crowded Korean BBQ restaurants I'm used to. (Guess it's just more popular in my area in the Peninsula.) All in all the food, price, and service were all on point. The service was a bit slow, but maybe that's because we weren't eating AYCE. It took a while for us to get a refill on side dishes and also, it was weird that only the soondubu came out first. The miso soup was cold. We ordered the hot stone bibimbap, seafood soondubu, and the kimchi pancake. The bibimbap was okay. The soondubu we ordered spicy but it wasn't spicy so we had to get it remade. The kimchi pancake was nice and crispy but not a strong kimchi flavor. The server never told us the dipping sauce was at the table in the squeeze bottle. She also didn't initially give us sauce bowls until we asked. Love the food. Love this place. BUT Loud ass music in restaurants is annoying af when it forces you to almost literally yell to communicate with your server or dinner date. To be fair a lively ambiance is great and they play great music. I've been here many times and enjoy it. But whatever was going on today with the volume was kind of ridiculous and was really disruptive to my experience forcing me to ask multiple times to please just turn down the volume just a little bit. Also extremely loud environments can be very triggering/overwhelming for those w certain medical conditions. This Korean bbq place is smaller than other Korean bbq places I've been to in the past, but I would say there is good variety. If you don't eat meat the restaurant doesn't offer a discount, but I would say there are still a good options and sides to choose from. If you're eating plant based, it's best to come during lunch time M - F since it's $30 plus tax. Other times, it's $38 plus tax. It dawned on me that I've barely had Korean food this entire quarantine! That changed when we ordered a huge to-go feast for my mom's birthday. The meal was fantastic! On to the food! We ordered veggie tofu soup, kimchi fried rice, japchae, fried mackerel, beef bibimbap, and beef bulgogi. We also had banchan, miso soup, and steamed rice on the side. I've been vegan for a little over a year, so I only partook in part of the meal, but what I did have was delicious! My favorite dish was the veggie tofu soup! It was bursting with flavor! The japchae and kimchi fried rice was yummy as well! I definitely recommend these three dishes. My parents said all the meat dishes were great, and said they'd recommend them as well. Great place for Korean food. I usually get their menu items rather than the AYCE option, but I've tried both and they're good! When I do AYCE I like getting beef belly and pork belly and wrapping them in the rice cake wraps. I also get various vegetables like mushrooms, zucchini, and garlic. When I do the regular menu, my go-to orders are the sweet (royal style) rice cake and spicy cold noodle soup. The noodles from the spicy cold noodle soup can get very chewy (I love the texture though) so I'd recommend to ask for scissors to cut the noodles. read more

This is mine and my fam's fave ayce KBBQ spot. The meats are excellent and the sides are delicious. The more recent times we've dined, we've noticed that the pork belly is tough. I don't know if it's based on how we're cooking it, but it used to be one of our favorites to order. They play great music and there are plenty of servers, who are all pleasant. Some cooked foods from the kitchen take a while to get to the table and sometimes, we have to flag the waiters down or check with them to see if they put in our orders because of our wait time. Needed a rest break and a quick bite to eat on our Westbound I80 return drive from the Reno / Tahoe area to the SF Bay Area. Remembered a Korean restaurant in Fairfield that had great Korean Fried Chicken (KFC), you know, like the type always eaten in the K-Dramas. The four of us agreed on the food-type and exited the Interstate. Parked in the large lot (don't leave valuables or luggage visible) and walked in and lo and behold, the place does not have KFC anymore and is now an KBBQ AYCE. The menu looked promising for a weekday grill your own lunch at $29.99 per person but we weren't prepared for a Tuesday lunch AYCE since you know you basically skip or eat a light meal before going to any AYCE establishment. Additionally, we weren't prepared to smell like KBBQ for the rest of the day especially with a two-hour drive remaining. The host / waiter, not wanting to lose four customers, showed us a menu and said we could still order ala carte. We perused the menu and agreed we'd try the ala carte menu knowing we weren't that hungry and didn't want to splurge on an AYCE lunch. Happy we stayed! We ordered: - Korean BBQ'd Short Ribs, they grilled in the kitchen for us, which came out to around 4 strips cut into traditional three pieces each. Ok, math experts - that's 12 pieces for the four of us. The meat came out hot, moist and tasty with the tinge of Korean BBQ marinade sweetness. - Seafood Pancake, which is a concoction of seafood mixed with veggies fried to a crisp. This dish can be a challenge to make as you need to make sure it's not overly thick that it gets gummy but not too thin where you think you're getting cheated on the seafood. Like Goldilocks and the Three Bears, we found it was just right - fried to a nice crisp. Dip in the accompanying sauce and you got yourself a flat tempura thingy going! - Chap Chae with Beef, otherwise known as slightly sweet glass noodles with beef Bulgogi pieces and veggies. This was our base carb and was also tasty. - Additionally we had the "Banchan" side dishes composed of six-eight items with refills. The Banchan was made of your usual small dishes of: Kimchee, Fish Cake, Cooked Broccoli, Bean-spouts, Pickled Seaweed, Sliced Pickled Radish, Pickled Cucumbers, etc. a good mixture with different textures, sweetness, sourness, spiciness.... Overall, we were pleasantly surprised with the ala carte menu and received excellent service (hit the red button on the table for service). Not sure if we'll ever try the AYCE menu since we're two hours away and don't want to smell up the car but happy to say the ala carte menu sufficed. Glad they have this option. read more
