The Samosas were large and flavorful, the cheese nan was delicious and the Chicken Biryani was flavorful, just the right amount of spicy and a lot of chicken!! Wow! It's always good when you come across a restaurant expecting average and the cuisine turns out to be quite an unexpected surprise! My wife and I were craving Indian food, yet being in an area with very limited, good options that deliver, we decided to order from Hot Bits and I must say that I am so glad that we did! I have to admit, I ordered almost everything on their menu and I can honestly state that every item that I order from their menu was delicious! I ordered Tandoori Chicken and cubes of Chicken Tikka Masala and both succulent, tender, well-seasoned and delicious! Additionally, I ordered the Butter Chicken, which contained a deliciously rich sauce along with tender, juicy chicken pieces. Lastly, my entrees were rounded out with Palak Paneer (Creamed Spinach), which was a fine touch and great addition to my entrees. I also ordered butter and garlic naan, which were very hot, warm and delicious upon delivery! I'm glad that Hot Bits is a part of the Richmond-Katy community. Don't let the name or location fool you, these guys make amazing Indian food. We ate here for the first time last night and everything we ordered was amazing. Our meal included butter chicken, chicken saag, lamb curry, and samosas. So great! We cannot wait to go back. If you order online please do so using the restaurants website and not Grubhub. So we went to Tasty Bits having heard about it on a whatsapp group. The place is a little far from our place but looking at their menu ( and pictures) we thought its hopefully worth it..... So after 45 minutes of driving and two conversations of " when will we be there" ...we arrived at a rather inconspicuous place they are calling Hot Bits... We were very very ....almost superlatively floored....with this place's food! We ordered a Chicken tikka pizza and promised ourselves to " come here more often". Amazing stuff...like it defines how desi toppings should be used to bring about the true flavors which touch one's soul! Pro tip: Save half the pizza for next day and reheat it in an oven or toaster grill....it becomes twice as awesome! Yes it gets even better with time....its like marriage...maybe... We also ordered kathi rolls and they were also amazing!! However, there is scope for improvement on the portion size of the Kathi Roll. They are about $8 each and leave you half way in your culinary nirvana...because they don't last long ...they probably stand for the bits in " Hot bits" .My wife struggles with finishing 2 slices of a medium pizza and for the first time in many moons...she wanted to order more after the Kathi roll....so if the portion size could be improved...that would have us come back for Kathi rolls too...which we love by the way for the taste part( Still thinking about it).... They haven't gone brute force on the marketing yet...but with the taste they provide in the food....they don't need much! Wanted to try someplace new other than our normal Indian place. Yelp search for something in the area and off we went...... Food was okay not bad. Young server was a bit overwhelmed but he was friendly. Lots of business coming in and out (take outs and deliveries). Very small place inside to eat. Had the chicken korma small portion it was ok. Also had the the chili paneer was a little over cooked for my liking. The bread basket with variety of naan breads was excellent and a lot. read more

The food was pretty good (a little salty but not too bad) but the wait was VERY long. I did have a "party of 6" that was 3 adults 2 children and a toddler. We arrived around 7:50 PM and we didn't get served until 8:54 PM. Long story short food was good, bill arrived I was about to pay.... Then the owner came out with a NEW bill to charge us the extra 15% fee for a party of 6. I didn't complain I just paid it. Why is this a problem? My family and I go to Bombay Grill most of the time for our Indian food especially for a sit down dinner. The taste of the food is excellent, but the wait tends to be a little long bc they cook everything completely from scratch. The owner has been nice to us and compensates us when the kitchen is running behind. In my opinion he does business the right way; he creates relationships... that's why I/we always goes there. The main reason I chose Hot Bits was bc while I love Bombay that night we couldn't wait long. But hot bits came in a very very close 2nd in terms of wait time and we ordered water and we received 6 bottled waters with straws. That doesn't happen at Bombay. The wait service wasn't much to be desired to warrant the service fee, but I digress. For me I just find it petty that the owner would present us a new bill as I'm in the process of paying the first bill he JUST brought us AND we had to wait a very long time. He even apologized for the wait. I don't have a problem paying the 15% service fee (even though 3 of our 6 people were children) if everything is on point glasses if filled, the waiter checks on us, etc. Interested to see if the owner responds. If not we won't be back for dinner we will just stick to Bombay Grill. At least I know he appreciates my business. read more

I was craving Indian food and decided to order take-out from here based on reviews. My husband and I ordered the naan basket, goat curry, chicken tikka masala, and chicken biryani. All the dishes were pretty tasty, but my favorites were the naan and goat curry. The ingredients tasted fresh. I appreciate how the price are so reasonable! Overall, I recommend this place. We ordered delivery from HotBits and all we could say was wow! Everything was phenomenal. We just couldn't get enough. It felt like we were eating a home cooked meal made but he most loving grandma, mother's and aunts! Best Indian food we have ever tried. My husband tends to order half the menu so we tried the Chicken Tikka Masala, The Lamb Korma, Aloo Baigan, Yellow Daal, Chili Paneer (gravy), The Mixed Grill, Samosas and Raita. And yes, of course we ordered the garlic naan AND the bread basket! Then my husband decided to call and see if they made papadams and if so, could he add them. And they did. I truly loved everything but my absolute favorite was the lamb korma and I'm not even a lamb person! Everything smelled amazing, felt very "clean", fresh, vibrant, hot, crispy, spicy, salty, creamy, and perfect. We also felt that the portions were fair for the price. We received a ton of bread and plenty of perfect basmati rice. The only negative was that some of the meats in the mixed grill were a little dry. So, i ordered Chicken Biryani from this place after not having power for 3 days and still not having water for past 5 days. What a joke!!!! they just simply mixed some over-cooked, leftover chicken curry with some basmati rice. Even that basmati rice wasn't cooked all the way. It was disgusting. I understand that Biryani is not something that you can whip up in 15 minutes, but one shouldn't have it on their menu, if they can't do it. i wish I could this this place less than 1 star. read more

Second time going to the restaurant today after a long time. The chicken dish Kadai chicken we ordered tasted like tomato paste/sauce from a can and the chicken was clearly stale and had an old smell to it. When I tried to tell the chef, he simply dismissed the comment saying 'not possible' and was not willing to take a constructive criticism from a loyal customer. Don't know if we will be back!!! Great experience tonight and first time taking our children (10 and 12). We all loved it! Kids were arguing over who was going to finish the samosa and both loved it. Tomato soup was great. My son loved dipping the nan in it. Butter Nan was a generous portion enough for the 4 of us with kids that love any break. The chicken tiki masala was great for the kids and they made a spicy version with lamb for my husband. The chicken vindaloo was very spicy as expected and tasted great. My daughter ordered the mango drink and the kids shared it (aka fighting on who got the next sip). It was so good and tasted like fresh mango. They were very busy with take out and had a few customer alike us dining in (it has about 6 tables total inside). The waiter was likely the owner or manager and was increasingly kind. It was slow service at times given some he had to direct the other employees at times, answer the phone, take the orders, and cash out. I would wait a few extra minutes any day for this great food, kind service and believing it a small family owned business. Ashamed I have not tried it before after driving by so many times. The service was absolutely terrible! Sat down for 7-10 minutes with no water nor waiter. We ordered Vegetable curry, Naan and samosas, the waiter brought the naan out first before anything which was insane. I cannot eat spicy food not even a little spicy. I was eating the food and 2 bites in I noticed the food was starting to get real spicy so I stopped eating. We asked for a refund on that item due to it being spicy and we specifically said no spice please. The manager told us we could not get a refund and demanded us to pay because I took a few bites of the food. . The manager never told us that all food comes spicy, there is no such this as " no spice " apparently. He was extremely rude and was demanding us to pay and we were trying to explain we asked for no spice due to a serious health condition; He did not care and was still forcing us to pay and then a lady offered to call the owner. We spoke with the owner and she told us what the manger said which was not true at all. We explained our side and she understood and apologize. She ended up telling the lady to take the curry that we didn't eat off. The only reason I give the restaurant 2 stars is because of the service and management. If owner see this, PLEASE hire better managers. I will not be back to this restaurant and I use to come all the time but after today experience unfortunately, I will not be back. read more
