    Dining area with music playing
    Brianna E.

FYI: They take a lunch break between 3pm-4pm Good food and phenomenal service. The men who run the establishment are very kind, and very attentive. Inside the dining area is pretty dim which is nice and they have music playing on the tv. I've had the butter chicken and the chicken korma, both delicious. The chicken is cooked perfectly and the seasoning is on point. To go: I ordered a medium level of spicy for the butter chicken. It was perfect for me (I like spicy). The butter chicken was a favorite for my sister, (it does have a stronger tomato taste fyi) When I returned I ordered the chicken korma but they didn't ask me what spice level I wanted. Definitely considered asking the spice level when you order! I would have gotten it a little spicier. The chicken korma was really good in my opinion, my favorite thing there so far. It has peanuts! FYI The garlic naan is so good, it smells just like fresh garlic bread out the oven. Walking into the restaurant you can smell all the goodness being cooked up. Very aromatic The rice is cooked perfectly! To drink they offer pitchers of water, tea (unsweetened), mango lassi, and soda from India I believe, definitely foreign soda.

My daughter and I stopped by for a nice lunch. As other reviewers noted, this place is just a diner so don't expect much for atmosphere. I went with the recommended Dal Makhni, and it was very good. My daughter had palak paneer and enjoyed her food. The included rice was basmati. The nice thing is this place was able to adjust the spice for us. I had spicy with mine, and my daughter went for the mild. We asked what naan was recommended. Loved the meat-stuffed keema naan. The garlic naan was also very good. We had some lassi drinks. I tried the unsweetened masala lassi, another recommendation. This drink was awesome and went well with spicy food. My daughter thought the mango lassi was great. I'm doing the Mediterranean diet, so it's nice to see the many vegetarian and seafood dishes on the menu. Good food and great recommendations. I want to try the biryani next time. Come on, Katy! Support these small local businesses!!!

Chicken Kadhai: meh, Dal Makhni: too much tomato puree
    A G.

2.5* - meh. Not authentic esp after the might claims on the website. Decent service, okay ambiance. Cauliflower (Gobhi) Manchurian - okay flavor, but should be crispier and slightly less salty. Dal makhani - okay, but tomato puree was overpowering which shouldn't be the case, and urad lentils should be slow cooked for long time to give it a smoother consistency. Plain naan - good Laccha paratha - wrong, looked like a regular tawa paratha. Chicken Karahi - average, chicken lacked marination, should be more tender, overall dish was lacking in various aspects.

Garlic Naan Tulsi Chicken Tikka Masala Saag Aloo

I have been waiting to try this place for the fact that they have tulsi chicken. It was unfortunately, underwhelming. It reminded me of La Madeleine's tomato basil soup with chunks of chicken added and some red pepper flakes on top. This is not a slam, for it was tasty, just not what I expected. The aloo Saag was delicious, but needed a little more spice and salt. The garlic naan was flavorful and stood out as the best part of the meal, along with the pakoras. I just wish there was more chutney to go along. I'm giving 4 Stars for the absolutely polite and friendly man who was behind the counter. This place has a great backstory, I would love to support it. The music and atmosphere is fun and uplifting I just want more traditional spices next time. I hope they do well in their spot.

    chicken madras

We enjoyed having lunch at Tikka Temple today. Our server was knowledgeable of the menu, pleasant and kind. Overall ambience was good, simple. My vegan friend was excited to see a lot of vegetable options on the menu. Everything we had was good. There is also an option of the buffet for $10.99 that included select items from menu, which my mom liked as well as a glass of the mango lassi. For appetizers, we had the vegetable pakora, cauliflower Manchurian, and bullet naan (loved the spicy kick and the dips that it came with). I had the chicken madras, which was good but I wished it had some spice to it. My friend had the bhindi amchoori, which came out piping hot. Once it cooled off a little, we were able to enjoy. We also ordered basmati rice and chai tea.

    Palak paneer and Navratan Korma
    Kelly K.

Amazing, authentic cuisine!! Every dish is so flavorful, and with just the right amount of spice. The vegetable samosas are perfection: not greasy, just flakey goodness! Love both the dipping sauces too. The naan is out of this world, and with so many varieties too. Save room for desert: the gulab jamun can't be beat!

Great food, great service. Pictures are after I ate half the food already. :). I had the garlic naan, chicken pakora and palak paneer. All really good, especially the palak paneer. Was lots of food.. too much for me for one sitting, but had to try a variety from this new place. Definitely recommend.

Food is really good and the service is on point.

CITRUS HEAT CRAWFISH (medium heat): Strong kick when dipped in the juice at the bottom of the bag. Good flavor, but doesn't compare to my favorite crawfish flavor (The Mix at Crawfish Cafe). Large to medium-sized crawfish (late May). GARLIC BUTTER MUSSELS (mild heat): Really good! Large to medium-sized mussels. RAW OYSTERS: They were fine. Not bad, not particularly great. The word that came to mind was lackluster. I know they're gulf oysters, but I've had much better gulf oysters. Large to medium-sized. No small ones. Came with 1 small lemon slice and 4 small lime slices. LOBSTER BURGER: Really good! Great flavor! Good, brioche bun! Felt loaded! They didn't skimp on lobster meat. I saw a whole small claw in there! Appreciated the toothpick to keep it all together as much as possible. Would've been pretty messy without it. The FRIES were really good as well! Lightly crispy on the outside, soft inside, and well-seasoned. GUMBO: This was not very good. The rice was fully submerged under the gumbo, not on the side. The rice was also a little hard/undercooked. The meats were bland. The gumbo soup was very thin, like water (I prefer it thicker in consistency). On the bright side, the soup was flavorful.

Our table was stable, but because of the angle from the windows, the light kind of blinded one of our friends in the face. I would recommend stronger blinds for the front. I really liked the decorations. They were all sea shaped based, like a few of the lights were "waves". I thought they were cute. I didn't recall anything bad about the place, and given the rave reviews since then, I thought it was time to return. Based on reviews, we showed up early on a Friday evening (~5 pm). Even at that time, it was mostly full, but we were able to snag seats at the bar, which is first come first serve. We ordered the "regular" grilled oysters (5/5), which were anything but regular, as they were topped with peanuts and a really great flavor. I'd get these again. Fair warning, these take 20 minutes to come out, which I didn't mind, but I did not realize that they would not bring us anything else until after the oysters since these are considered an app. I thought they'd just bring things out as they were ready. This meant, we did not get our crawfish until we were already sitting there for an hour. About halfway into the wait for the crawfish (after the oysters), the fried rice (1/5) showed up, and I have to say, it was underwhelming. It came out room temperature, which to me is cold, and I thought this was just how they do it. Except 15 minutes later, the seats next to us got their fried rice, and it came out piping hot. You could still see the steam coming off of it. Besides being cold, I didn't think the fried rice was that good in terms of flavor. I also generally prefer the short grain rice, and this was more of a long grain. Once the crawfish showed up, we were well past an hour, so we dove right into it. Both the garlic butter and combo mix were great flavor - some of the best I've had in Houston. However.... it made me remember why we did not return. About 20% of the crawfish were TINY. And by tiny, I mean they were smaller than my pinky finger. Maybe I'm a crawfish snob, but at this time of the season, there should not be that many tiny crawfish. Maybe a few small ones, but not tiny. Crawfish flavor = 5+/5, crawfish quality = 2/5, crawfish cook = 3/5. Then I made the mistake of ordering a cluster of snow crab. That took another 30+ min to come out, and it was again room temperature. The service at the bar was fine (4/5), but the kitchen service (1/5) is not something I want to experience again, especially not for the crawfish quality/size. Yes, the flavor was amazing, but I'm not fighting for a table for lukewarm food and 30 min wait time for each dish. The pricing was some of the lowest I've seen ($8.99/lb crawfish), but I'd rather pay $1 more at other places for the quality.

The food is consistently flavorful, and whenever I'm missing New Orleans, this place gives me a taste of home. What keeps me coming back is not just the food, but also the outstanding customer service. The staff is always kind, welcoming, and attentive. Many times, I've placed an order before work, and they have it ready with the same level of care and hospitality as if I were dining in the restaurant. That level of service is truly appreciated. The food is always fresh, hot, and prepared consistently. One of my absolute favorites is the remoulade sauce. It is incredibly flavorful, tasty, and complements the meal perfectly. The music is a mix of EDM, Hip-hop, Rap, and R&B. They have tables and bar top seating. If you have a bigger group, I'm sure you can find a table depending on the time you arrive. There is a lot of seating. To start off, I ordered the Matcha Martini. It was STRONG omg, definitely a sipper, but it was so good. It was creamy and had a good matcha flavor. I love how they added matcha powder on top. For drinks, I also tried their espresso martini and Bubbly Pineapple. The espressos here are good, no complaints. The Bubbly Pineapple is so cute; it comes out with a bubble of smoke you can pop. The drink is very refreshing; it really tastes like pineapple. FYI, the drink has little black seeds, so if you don't like textures in your drink, maybe this one isn't for you. Also the drink came with a little frozen pineapple you can add to your drink once you pop the bubble As an appetizer, I got a dozen raw oysters and decided to add the $5 tobiko (fish eggs). Let me say, they were not stingy with the Tobiko, there was so much on my Oysters, I mean a lot! The oysters were good, and so was the tobiko, but I feel that with so much tobiko, it kind of took away from the oysters. Still good though, especially for $21 for the dozen with the tobiko! It was very filling I'm not gonna lie, I got pretty full with the oysters, but I still had to eat my entree As an entree, I ordered the Short Ribs, which came with rice and a side salad. I didn't think I was going to eat much of my entree since the oysters had filled me up, but I ate the short ribs down to the bone! Every single one of those ribs I devoured, no meat was left on my plate. I didn't have space to eat, but my stomach made space for this. 10/10 would recommend the short ribs, especially with the delicious sauce it came with. I think it's like a fish sauce 10/10 for food and drinks. Bonus: the staff here is really friendly. I really enjoyed my time here. I need to come more often for sure, this is definitely a Katy gem
