I don't understand the Hot Box slander because my meal deal was only $25 and was delicious! Back in February, they had a Riley meal deal where you paid $25 for a large one-topping pizza, breadsticks, one dipping sauce, a dessert, and two drinks. That's much more than you get at any other pizza joint for that price! I placed the order on their website for pickup in Broad Ripple. This location is closest to my apartment, but it's a little tough because the parking is not great. I am pretty sure I parked in a lot for another business, but I had no idea where else to park so I just risked it for the sake of the pizza. I came right at my pick-up time, but I still had to wait about 10 minutes. It wasn't a huge deal, but I was sweating that I would come back with a ticket on my car. Thankfully this didn't happen! I will say that every hot box location is pretty dead on the inside and honestly a little grimy. I doubt people actually eat inside often. We feasted when I got home with the food, and it was delicious!! A large pizza goes a long way for a family of two, so we had leftovers for lunch the next day. My favorite thing about Hot Box is their ranch. Both their breadsticks and their pizza dipped in the ranch are amazing. We had plenty of breadsticks left over for the following night (in which we dipped them in chili!) The drinks were standard in their plastic. reusable cups. I wished we had gotten the Riley-edition cups, but they gave us Christmas leftover cups instead. Lastly, we had their cookie pizza. We each had a slice the night we got it with a glass of milk. It was quite tasty. I love chocolate chip cookies in general, so a slice of chocolate chip cookie "pizza" was no different. We saved the leftovers for the next couple of days. I am extremely happy with our purchase at Hot Box! We don't get pizza too often, but it's definitely a place I would order from if it's in close proximity.

Breadsticks- little bland but still good

Got the deal for a large pizza, breadsticks, and 2 drinks. We got a skinny crust pepperoni pizza. It was good, seasoned well and the crust was nice and crisp, not at all soggy. The breadsticks were ok but I feel like they could have been seasoned more. The drinks tasted a little weird, I think the ice was made of tap water and it tasted off. The drink holders are handy, not a drop spilled. The staff are friendly. Parking can be a bit of a problem, limited street parking. Overall I'd order from them again.

Very good pizza. I ordered the deal which is 2 drinks, 6 breadsticks with dipping sauce and a large one topping pizza. I modified the pizza and added black olives, green olives and mushrooms on half, pepperoni all over the pizza. I'm a thin crust pizza fam so i ordered the skinny pie, which is just a thin crust pizza. The pizza with the extra toppings was so good, I wished i had ordered the entire pie with them instead of just half. The breadsticks were quite tasty with the nacho cheese sauce. The only down side were the drinks. By the time i received my order, they were watered down and fruit punch is not very good watered down.

Since Pizza Express in Bloomington, I've always been a huge fan of the breadsticks. I used to not be a huge fan of their pizza (just my preference - I like thin crust and it was more hand tossed). I was craving their breadsticks and wanted a pizza to go with it, so looked at their menu. To my surprise, I noticed they had thin crust! I believe I ordered Porky the Pie and added banana peppers. (It had a different name for pride month.) It was perfect! The pizza was fantastic. I will definitely be ordering their thin crust again. I ordered through them and the delivery actually got to my place a little early and they followed delivery directions perfectly. As I'm writing this I'm craving their pizza again. Might have to be on the menu for later this week!

I spent most of my college experience being a "Box Rat" at HotBox West Lafayette (the BEST HotBox) and I really do love Hotbox to death. They have great specials if you join the text club, and the people who they employ are always pretty stellar. You cannot beat a place that is open this late with quality food. I also enjoy collecting the wide array of colored cups. I wish they would recycle the super high-quality cups though! My favorite pizza will always be the "HotBox" with buffalo sauce and dipped in the nectar of all that is holy, ranch dressing. You must try the Stix with cheese. Or else I will just Jedi mind trick you into doing so. Also any place where you can make so many jokes from their name and laugh at people who don't understand that is pretty okay in my book.

Our service was appropriately paced for the time it takes to make a Chicago deep dish pizza. I liked the TVs they had in the center of our dining area, which had some pre-season football coverage. The booths have taller partitions so it feels more intimate. I also liked the marquee saying "EAT PIZZA". I will certainly follow instructions there! The pizza we got was "The Special": sausage, green pepper, onion, and mushroom. I thought the pizza was fine, my only thing about Chicago style is that the vegetables can't caramelize like they would on a regular pizza. But that's just a personal opinion. I am pleased with the range of mocktail offerings, which are all $7.

We ordered online for delivery, and that may be part of it since deep dish really is best eaten fresh and hot rather than after a delivery trip. We tried the Meat and More Meat deep dish, which was very heavy. To be fair, that's probably just the style. Chicago stuffed pizza is rich, double-crusted, and seriously filling by design, but it was a bit much for us. We also got the family-size Rigatoni Bolognese. That one's actually worth the cost in terms of portion size; you get a lot of food. The flavor, though, was underwhelming. It wasn't bad, just not very flavorful. I can see why Giordano's has its fans, and the deep dish has a big following, but our experience was middle-of-the-road. If you're set on trying it, order for dine-in or pickup so it's fresh out of the oven.

We ordered a half-and-half pizza with the Spicy Bee on one side and the Bazbeaux Special with pine nuts on the other. Everything was delicious. It's all made fresh to order, so it took a bit of time to come out, but that's exactly why it tasted so good: fresh ingredients, a crisp thin crust that stays sturdy under the toppings, and great flavor throughout. With many toppings to choose from and a good beer and wine selection, there's a ton to explore here, and it's very vegetarian-friendly, too. The service sealed the deal for us. The staff was extremely friendly and kind, and our waitress was the highlight. We ended up staying a little past closing and started to rush, but she reassured us to take our time and enjoy the meal instead of feeling hurried. That kind of genuine hospitality goes a long way. Cozy, casual atmosphere, excellent pizza, and warm service in the heart of the Mass Ave arts district. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend.

I have to laugh that my first review for this location of Bazbeaux, an Indy pizza icon since 1986,…read morewas actually my 300th Yelp review. Now, I'm over 1800 reviews and Yelp has become a huge part of my life. I was attending a nearby event related to Indy Shorts Film Festival and decided I wanted to visit Mass Avenue a bit once the event was over. This was early afternoon. After looking around a bit, I opted for a long-awaited return to Bazbeaux. Of course, a lot has changed in this area in the last few years. Parking prices are up (way up), though it's pretty plentiful with nearby street parking (metered) and parking along Mass Avenue. You also have a couple nearby parking garage options. Finding an accessible spot is fairly easy - curb cuts remain solid in this area and there continue to be some (but not all) crosswalks with audio. As was true nine years ago, accessibility on Mass Avenue can be challenging. That said, I think it has improved. I entered Bazbeaux and immediately noticed some improvement right away. There are two sides - a dining side, a bar side (with tables), and an aisle you can use for carry-out. The interior is warm, calming, and surprisingly intimate. The bar area is a bit louder, it's a bar area after all, but it's still pretty quiet. Service here remains strong. The hostess offered the bar area or a booth. Tables are not all wheelchair friendly, however, there are quite a few accessible options. My server, Samuel, was friendly and attentive without being overwhelming. He paced my meal nicely - I ordered garlic bread, my usual unsweetened iced tea (I think they still serve Mighty Leaf - an unusual choice that I love). I ordered a small (10") pizza with one-topping (pepperoni). I lingered a little bit, though not excessively so like my last visit. This time around, I was alone and my meal time was more traditional. The prices were definitely higher than last time, however, what price isn't higher than nine years ago? They were on park with the market these days and I had no issues with it - I think my meal came in at about $19 for the pizza, garlic bread, and iced tea (and I did get my always desired refill). Bazbeaux is unique in that every location (Mass Ave, Broad Ripple, Carmel) is located along the Monon Trail. They all have outside dining options, as well. They serve beer and wine, sandwiches, pizza, and more. One thing I have to say - accessibility is improved. I was noticeably bothered by it the last time I was here. This time around, I was comfortable and could easily function (I did not try the bathroom). While I could still see it being a bit difficult when packed, I arrived at an ideal time and was quite comfortable. The food was good, the service was very good, the prices were fair, and the atmosphere was nice and peaceful after a busy morning event. It really hit the spot. So, yeah. Last time around, I gave Bazbeaux a 3-star review. This time, I'm forking over that 4th star.
