We went with a few friends and everyone was delighted with their food, and the Carabello's coffee was an additional pleasure! We had never been there before but liked their menu. We booked a table for 14 but the number increased last minute. The manager advised us that it would be no problem. We all got seated and our sever Leanna took drink orders while various party members got themselves seated. She seemed very comfortable waiting on 15 adults and two toddlers. Leanna showed an excellent knowledge of the menu and quizzed guests on their likes and dislikes while making menu recommendations. Many restaurants would have assigned two servers for a group that size but Leanna seem totally at ease on her own. The food was delicious and the portions plentiful. The only the complaint was from my 18 year old who graduated high school earlier in the day. That's OK because he is always a pain when it comes to food. He liked shrimp but not the texture of the grits. If you ever get a Yelp from him just disregard it. We will be back. read more

Came for dinner with family. the dinner area is gorgeous and comfortable. The wait staff wasn't the most attentive, but the food was great - the Brussel sprouts were amazing. From a covid stand point, not a lot of guests were following protocol. There were guests walking around without masks and mingling from table to table and even encroaching on our space/6 foot distance. I have clearly checked into this fine dining establishment greater than the number of fingers I possess on one hand (that's five at current count) and thus by default can now account for nearly every single menu item. Let's begin by saying I've had all kinds of encounters here a) evenings out with girlfriends, b) patio drinks met with laments over men, c) first dates that can't be awkward because the pimento cheese makes literally everything okay and d) baby showers with a large group. Everything (service, atmosphere, music, seating, "draft" wine) has been nothing short of amazing. Don't ever miss the ham/jelly biscuits, pimento cheese on any carbohydrate you can find, the burger with a side of "tots" (stacked potatoes, dip them in ranch, consume them all), fried corn fritters, the charcuterie board -- the pork chop, the hanger steak, the chicken pot pie, the cheeseburger, the shrimp and grits. Second visit to HC. First time, enjoyed some appetizers at tge bar and some nice craft cocktails. They have an amazing collection of bitters. Everything was great, food, drinks, staff, atmosphere. Loved it and was looking forward to returning. Went back last night for dinner, day after giant NYE party at the hotel and they were able to seat us even though we didn't have a reservation (thank you). Our servers were great, I enjoyed all of tge food from the corn fritters to the roasted chicken with a side of carrots and a great Old Fashioned. Giving 3 stars because of cleanliness. I hope this isn't a trend for this restaurant. The spoon in my silverware set was very noticeably dirty. How does that happen? That had to get by several people before I saw it in front of me on the table. Server apologized and brought a new one. Perfect. At the bottom of my roasted chicken dish was another surprise. We reported it and received apologies and no charge for the entree, again, handled well. In town for a conference, I am blown away by how delicious this place is. The cauliflower small plate and lamb tartare were beautifully plated and immensely flavorful. The bed was not too comfortable- it's extremely firm. There was Noise coming from the outside, not allowing to sleep. The location is not that great, 30-40 min walk to downtown Cincinnati. You pay for self parking near hotel, $10 per 24hrs. No free water offered by hotel in your room. The bathroom was not 100% clean. read more

Friendly service, completely approachable as a hotel restaurant, and a great selection of taps and wine. The country-ham biscuit is amazing - it could work both as a bar snack (one) or meal (two). Fun date night spot. Food was great, appetizer portions were big with the entrees being on the smaller side. We ordered several apps (Pimiento spread and the tots were AMAZING) which worked perfectly then we split an entree (braised pork, was OK and will try something new next time). We had a great experience at Hotel Covington! The customer service is outstanding. We went here for our anniversary and it was a very romantic setting. The decor in the rooms is very cool, however the velvet headboard was a little dusty. Maybe they need to vacuum those more often. As someone who is always cold, I loved the faux fur throw on the bed. I'm not sure how often they clean them though, so I just used it on top of the regular blanket and tried not to touch it much. It didn't look dirty, but it just looks like something that would be difficult to clean. Free WiFi, free coffee in the morning, lovely ambience, wonderful smelling bathroom products-- you can't go wrong. I got our room pretty cheap through hotels.com. I think their rooms go on sale a lot so definitely keep an eye out for that. We had drinks at the bar, and they were outstanding! I ordered the Mojito which was so refreshing on a hot day. My husband ordered the Liquid Knowledge--be careful because that is a BIG cocktail and it is very alcoholic! I don't even like Bourbon much, but even I liked that cocktail. Overall, it was a lovely experience and I highly recommend it if you're visiting Covington or Cincinnati. read more

This is an absolutely beautiful, luxurious and modern hotel. The staff is friendly, helpful and attentive. All of the architecture is modern, unique and ascetically pleasing. There is a large courtyard which features outdoor games, a fireplace (!) and twinkle lights that are beautiful. There is also a restaurant on the first floor, a fitness center in the basement, a ballroom and a conference room. Each room is clean, chic and it's own vibe. The location to Cincinnati is incredible. We were able to walk across a beautiful bridge to get to the Great American Ball Park and see a Reds vs Yankees game. It was also enjoyable to be out in the courtyard at night relaxing in a quiet environment. The lobby, bar and courtyard are suitable for working, reading and relaxing in a serene space. The room I stayed in was full of comfort and luxury. The beds were beyond comfortable, the pillows fluffy and it was like sleeping on a cloud. The rooms are quiet, the views are spectacular and there are snacks available in the room. This is a beautiful place to stay. If you are looking for luxury and beautiful surroundings, Hotel Covington is the place for you. read more

Tried Coppin's tonight for the first time - disappointing from the start and went downhill from there. We had 8:30 reservations, arrived at 8:25 and were asked to wait. They were busy, I get it. We enjoyed the trendy atmosphere for 25 minutes. We both had green salads to start - quite good. I ordered the Walleye with fall squash, braised lentils, brown butter. I asked to substitute house fries for the lentils and was told that was fine. My husband ordered the Hanger Steak with cippolini onion, scalloped potato, carrots, bone marrow butter. When our meals came my order was totally wrong. I got three small pieces of walleye sitting on top of a small pile of lentils served in a huge bowl. I told the gentleman it was not correct that I had asked for fries instead of lentils and I thought it was supposed to come with squash. He said, "No the walleye is served on a bed of lentils." I questioned that response and then he apologized and said he would get it corrected right away. My husband's meal was served correctly and I told him to go ahead and eat. By the time my corrected meal came out my husband had finished his meal. Sad, I had hoped to have dinner WITH my husband. The service we received from D., our waitress, was deplorable! She saw that my meal was missing and asked if it was being corrected. I said yes and she said "ok" and disappeared. She could tell that we weren't happy and her response was to avoid us as much as possible from that point on. When the walleye did come it was mediocre at best, a bit soggy. The fries were greasy and soggy as well. The fall squash was flavorless and the "brown butter" tasted like someone scraped pan drippings and mixed it with mayo - the most vile thing I've ever tasted. D. returned, finally, with a desert menu which we quickly declined. Ten minutes later she returned with our check. When it came time to fill out the tip D. finally apologized and acknowledged that I probably would have rather had dinner "with my husband." Wow, rub salt into that wound D! Mediocre food and worst service ever! Not going back any time soon. read more

My beef with this hotel is in regards to blocking rooms here for a wedding, so if you're just staying as a guest, feel free to read other reviews instead. I got married at the wedding venue next door to this hotel and it was suggested I block rooms here, so I did. Big mistake. First of all, they set our room block to expire almost two whole months before the wedding, when most people are just getting their invitations (6-8 weeks prior is the norm for invitations), so almost no one had time to book here before they closed the block. We had no say in this date and they refused to change or extend it. Secondly, I often had to email the coordinator I worked with multiple times or wait a week or more before hearing a response. They wouldn't send me a room list unless repeatedly prompted (the other hotel we blocked at did this regularly without me even asking), and I needed one to know how many welcome bags to deliver there - which I found out later they charge $2 per bag just to hand them to a guest when they arrive. I've never heard of a place charging for this. They also charge for parking (our other hotel didn't) and their "discounted" room rate is still over $200 for a basic room. I'm not sure why some other reviews mention free parking and an "affordable" price. To me, this place offered neither. The straw that broke the camel's back for me and my husband was when we asked to see one of the guest rooms - shouldn't be a huge request for someone bringing them business. We were asked by the front desk staff to wait 15 minutes to be shown a room. We stood in the lobby for half an hour, completely ignored, until finally leaving. In spite of the fact that we brought them hundreds of dollars in business that weekend due to our guests booking there, we were treated as nuisances throughout our whole time dealing with them. So brides, save yourself the headache and block rooms at the Courtyard Marriott. They treated us like royalty there. read more

The kale salad was fresh with pecans and a tasty dressing that had a nice spicy bite to it. For my main entree,I had the catfish it was in a nicely prepared batter. We had some issues with the hostesses- while they were friendly, they looked confused most of the time and a little annoyed when we wanted to add our name to the hour wait. I ordered the Cauliflower sandwich, not knowing what to expect. GRACIOUS! It was delicious! I really love brunch at Coppin's! My family typically goes after church on Sundays in a large ish group -- sometimes 9 people -- and we never have trouble finding a table here. Highly recommend the Bloody Mary and the Shrimp & Grits. SO good! First experience at Coppin's at Hotel Covington was great. It was for my friends wedding. We all had an old fashion. One of the best I've ever had. Went back a couple weeks ago (a little over a year later) to get a couple old fashions that I've been talking about for over a year to friends. We order two, the bartender pours it out of a tap, puts a lemon peel and a cherry in it and charges us $12 each. The drink was watered down and not very good. When asked why they poured it out of a tap the bartender replied, "if we were to make every old fashion ordered we'd be making them all night." So you would be a bartender all night? Your job? It was about 10:30 on a Saturday and maybe 7 people in the entire place. The bourbon bars are always packed and they "make their old fashions all night." $12 for a premix, lemon peel and a cherry? I've been wanting to try Coppin's for dinner after a great experience for lunch several months ago. I love the ambience of the hotel and the restaurant within. We took a work colleague here who is in the food industry so we wanted to impress him. I think Coppin's delivered. The service was fabulous. The waiter was attentive but not a nag. We had the deviled eggs and corn fritters as appetizers, both delicious, especially the corn fritters. They also have wine on tap, which I happen to love. As entrees, I had the pork chop and my husband and colleague both had the shrimp and grits. My pork chop was perfect and my husband said his shrimp were delicious. We had a great experience. Five stars for the location - especially if you can take advantage of the courtyard. It was spectacular on a warm summer evening - it felt like we were on vacation. The hotel lobby is gorgeous as well. We didn't stay there so I can't comment on the rooms. The food at the restaurant was very good but unremarkable - the menu is small and it may push you out of your comfort zone if you're not a foodie. The burger was pretty good (though not life-changing as our server suggested!). We also had a fish special that was delicious and a satisfying charcuterie plate. This is the busiest hotel bar I've ever been to. It is such a cool open space and I really enjoyed the vibe here. The drinks are decently priced and taste wonderful. I was here on a Saturday night and was able to grab seats at the bar. It's loud in here but not so loud you can't hear each other talk. Everything about this place is amazing. The decor is gorgeous and features pieces created by local Covington artists. We sat in the bar portion that is connected to the lobby, which is a seat yourself area. There is an atrium room that was saved for guests with reservations. It was very apparent that every detail was very well thought out, all the way down to the Roebling Bridge shaped paper clip attached to the check at the end of the meal. The menu is small, but everything sounded incredible. I opted for the burger which was topped with a bacon marmalade. So delicious. The fries were fresh cut and perfectly seasoned.
