We won a stay at this hotel on an auction for Give Kids the World Village. It is a beautiful hotel which is across the street from Wrigley Field. Our room was on the 6th floor so we had great views from our room. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was beautiful. No ice machine but they have whole bags of ice you can take on each floor.

I generally look for hotels with excellent shower pressure, lots of hot water, and plenty of amenities around the area...This place has it all! We came by for a stay of a couple of nights, we seemed to be the only couple who wasn't there for the Cubs game. Obviously with a location directly across the street from Wrigley Field, most visitors seem to be there for the game. We did do a tour of the stadium which was nice, but skipped out on the full nine inning experience. The hotel itself has plenty of friendly staff, most of the amenities you could need, and a lot of action all around the area with lots of restaurants and activities, along with easy access to the train station. It's a modern hotel in the Marriott Bonvoy family, and while I wouldn't call the rooms overly spacious, they were roomy enough for a couple. There are a few items of note, 1. If you want a mini fridge in the room, you'll have to either upgrade to a suite or request one in advance. 2. Also, the parking is quite expensive - we used valet parking at $80 per night. 3. If you want to pull up directly in front of the hotel, the standard Google map directions don't take you there, Google takes you straight to the garage entrance which is around the back of the hotel. 4. There's a fire station and a police station nearby, so there was some siren activity at night, which could be heard in the rooms. It didn't bother us too much. As a business traveler, I'd likely be staying in a downtown hotel if doing business downtown - this location is really ideal for Wrigleyville and the northern areas. Overall however, this was a five-star experience, and I'd certainly look to stay there again if I was ever visiting the stadium area.

If you asked me if I wanted to stay in an upscale boutique hotel that faced Wrigley Field during baseball season, I would've given you such a case of small-mouth. However, Jamie W. went ahead and booked us a Queen room here for three nights for $440 per night (without tax), and frankly it turned out just fine. Although the hotel was full of zealous Cubs fans, we managed to avoid them for at least two nights. We had a lead-footed marcher above us the first night. The front desk was quite responsive and moved us to another room for the rest of our stay. No further marching heard. The rooms were quiet otherwise as well as spacious. The bed felt pretty comfortable, and the bathroom was well maintained. The only drawback was that there wasn't a mini-fridge, so there was no place to store our leftovers from all the great Chicago food we were going to eat. All the social activity appeared to be happening on the second floor where a full den of Cub fans dominated the expansive lounge. We slipped by and either walked over to boisterous Boystown (about 15 minutes) or took the local bus up to more gentrified Andersonville (20 minutes on a good night). Why, we even went to a Cubs game since it took us thirty seconds to get to the entrance gate. Psss, I just may be a closet Cubbie yet. RELATED - Exploring Chicago? Wow. The Hotel Zachery was incredible. The service, the food, the vibe, the location...everything was FANTASTIC. Having an incredible time just simply wasn't an option...and I didn't even go to see the Cubs!

If you're a Cubs fan you have to make it a point to stay here at least once. The proximity to Wrigley Field, being able to overlook Gallagher Way, and be right in the heart of everything on game days is an incredible experience. Hotel Zachary put so much thought into the details from the art, soap, table books in the room and even a welcome gift of none other than Garrett's popcorn. The stay is by no means a cheap expense, but the experience was well worth it. There are only two things that would have made it better. The first is access to a fridge in the room, rather than just the ice bucket. We stopped by a craft fair and got a free canned coffee beverage that would've done better in a fridge. The second piece would be allowing/encouraging breakfast on the patio. We were fortunate to be there on a beautiful day, but were informed there was no service outside so the only option would've been staying inside missing out on the up front view of Wrigley.

Every detail of this hotel is meant to be enjoyed. The small details are not taken for granted. Plus, there is no better view to wake up to than Wrigley field! Although it's pretty great to also go to sleep looking at the lights of Wrigley. I loved being able to sit outside and take in the sights and sounds of Gallagher way! The soap brand was even called Ivy and I loved the smell. The ice was in small individual bags which was amazing because typical hotel life machines are disgusting (if you didn't know now you know). The only thing that wasn't as top notch as I would have liked were the pillows. I will admit I could have just asked for extra and didn't.

    Wrigley post game celebration.

The outdoor seating overlooking Wrigley Field is great!!! The service from Heath was great and the manager's attention, Jack Hiss, is incredible. The food and the cocktails are top notch!

The location is amazing. Cubs games, concerts, etc....it cant be beat. The rooms are clean, spacious and very well appointed. Its got alot of great history about the area, and the names associated with Wrigley. The lobby is awesome, great bar, lounge, and outdoor patio. My only wish...that the outdoor patio was bigger..and alot bigger..its just too small. The bar is great, and amazing staff overall. The restaraunt has a nice menu but its meh...so thats the only downside but there are so many great places to eat in the area its hard to standout. GO CUBS

Incredible location, responsive and helpful staff that goes above and beyond. Loved this hotel and my dog had a great time on his first trip to Chicago.

    In house cured salmon breakfast

Great hotel. We had a wonderful time for the last weekend of the Cubs regular season. The rooms were small but that's expected in a downtown hotel. The restaurant was really good for breakfast and late night drinks. In house coffee bar was equally good. Nobu is walking distance if you want.

We ended up booking the Hotel Zachary after a bit of a hotels.com fiasco with a different hotel. I'm so glad we did because this hotel was really nice! It's right across from Wrigley Field and has a bespoke feel. The lobby is on the second level where there's a bar and plenty of space to work or relax. When we checked in, they let us know that they upgraded us to the stadium view, which was fun! Definitely not something I'd pay for normally, but a nice surprise. Since we were there in the off season (aka not baseball season), it was quiet and not at all crowded. We only stayed one night, but the beds were super comfortable and the double queen room was really large. There was no fridge in the room, also no coffee maker but you could take your key down to the bakery/coffee shop for a free cup of coffee in the morning. We didn't do this but it's a nice touch for guests, although I'm sure many people would prefer an in-room coffee maker. We were going to a concert at the Metro, so it was nice to be in walking distance. There are lots of restaurants and bars in this immediate area that we had fun checking out. We reserved a parking spot on SpotHero nearby for way less than the price of valet parking (valet at the hotel is $75 per night). The hotel is a Marriott and is pet-friendly.

However once we reached the top, there was no need to worry. What a lovely space this was to have an event. There was a reception area for drinks prior to the ceremony. The room was set up nicely with a combination of standing cocktail tables and seating to sit down in. The bar area was set up nicely and was well organized. I was so surprised to see the outdoor space next to the room where the ceremony was held. The room itself was beautiful, but seeing the outdoor greenery made it all the more magical. After the ceremony everyone retired back to the reception area for drinks. I kept trying to figure out where dinner was going to be served. While having drinks, the staff kept walking around with these amazing hors d'oeuvres! I had so many that I almost did not want to have dinner, they were that good. Well color me surprised as the same room we were in for the ceremony was transformed into a dining area, with a second room next to it set up for a band and dancing. UNPROFESSIONAL OWNERSHIP Update: an indication of the lack…read moreof professionalism is the suggestion that I rallied my friends and family to leave low reviews in search of a refund. We already know we aren't getting a refund. The owner made that clear when we tried to remedy the situation with her over the phone. Nicolle was informed of the lack of AC during the event by a staffer who told me herself that she'd contacted Nicolle. Another indicator of her lacking professionalism is the angry emails she sent me regarding my Yelp review - no apology, just anger and threats to have my Yelp account blocked and shut down. She says we toured the venue 6 times... we saw it 3x. Finally, she dismissed the fact that her staffers were unprofessional and didn't know how to tap kegs/mix drinks just because my dad provided a generous tip. If you read the review my dad left (HJ), you'll see that his generous tip does not reflect his dissatisfaction with the service. He's just a generous tipper. I want to start by saying that I had an amazing wedding; definitely the wedding of my dreams thanks to my wedding parties and family. However, the service from the owner Nicolle was just terrible and so unprofessional. When it came to securing a contract or receiving payment, she was on top of the communication. It wasn't until after she met my now-husband and wedding parties that her friendly and responsive demeanor entirely changed. She was condescending and treated us like children. Prior to meeting my entourage, I asked about security and she said that we wouldn't need it unless we wanted it. After meeting my entourage, she told me that since my crowd is mostly younger (it wasn't) she would be contracting security for our event to ensure that we weren't serving alcohol to minors. What an assumption! Whatever age we are, we are paying her and deserve to be treated with respect. Her contract stated that a week prior to the event we would communicate any accommodations or other details for the event, including possible early drop off or arrival of decor. I called her twice and emailed her a follow up - never received a response from her except for her to tell me that she was unable to accommodate us any more - 6 days later & 2 days before my wedding. Her lack of attention to detail could have ruined my day. Bartenders who couldn't tap a keg (she knew we'd have kegs 6 weeks prior to event date) and refused to mix drinks, and her "industrial strength AC" that she promised didn't work throughout the entire 80 degree day and showed "service required." She refused to honor any of these mistakes and stated that there was an event the day after and everything was fine. Maybe a smaller crowd would have been fine but 80 people in suits and cocktail attire were drenched with sweat. Fortunately I had fantastic family and friends who made sure my day was magical. The space is cute but the professionalism is nonexistent and a HUGE headache.

Appreciated the option to have some light catering to sustain us, without having to do all the legwork for that - and Nicolle was attentive to requests during the contracting/ setup phase. For a corporate meeting - we challenged the wi-fi capacity as we had a lot of folks joining video remotely; if A/V is your top need, this may not be your ideal spot without some additional technology brought in.
