This is one of the best hot pot restaurants I've been to! The prices are very reasonable, the food is delicious, and all of the ingredients are incredibly fresh. What really makes this place stand out is the unique rotating serving system. Instead of getting up to pick your own food like at most all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurants, the dishes come to you, making the whole dining experience much more relaxing. It gave us more time to enjoy the food while chatting with family and friends without constantly leaving the table. Excited to have a conveyor belt hotpot back in Tukwila. I went with a friend who was obsessed with the conveyor belt hotpot place at Crossroads that closed down, so we went in ready to compare. Friday evening at 6pm, there was no wait for a table but the place looked pretty packed. The inside was pretty big compared to how it looks from the outside. We were sat at the back next to the kitchen entrance so it got loud at times. The sauce bar, drinks, and buffet foods were all at the front. We focused on the hotpot so can't review the buffet foods but the drinks were nice, although limited in selection. The meats came out pretty quick after we ordered. They were fresh and didn't taste frozen at all. The waitress asked us right away if we wanted to put in another order of meat but we waited so we could try the stuff on the conveyor belt first. There was a decent assortment of seafood, tofu, noodles, veggies, and cooked meat products on the conveyor belt. The seafood was definitely frozen but that didn't affect the taste too much once dunked in boiling soup thankfully. There's acrylic panels between the table and the conveyor belt, with a fairly small opening to reach in and grab the food going by. And the food was going by pretty quickly; we would often just barely miss a plate that we wanted and had to wait for it to come around again. But that didn't take long usually since the food was going around so fast. The kitchen staff kept the conveyor belt full as well, so there weren't any noticeable empty spots when the food went by. I got the Golden Fish Maw Chicken broth, which was a little bland to me but luckily there's the sauce bar to make up for that. My partner got the House Special Spicy broth with beef tallow, while my friend got the Rich Tomato broth. They both seemed very happy with their broth choices. We got full pretty quickly but ordered a total of 3 rounds of meat, and each of us had 2 drinks. My biggest gripe is that this is supposed to be all you can eat but it only applies to like the conveyor belt stuff which is mostly vegetables and canned meats. I came with a friend and we were only allowed three plates of meat between us two. It just wasn't per person, which I think is a rip off because it just wasn't enough meat. And then it's not all you can eat imo. Disappointed they didn't have noodles on the conveyor belt, I usually like a carb with my meal. Unfortunately, today's experience was a bit disappointing. We learned that they don't always have the pineapple ice cream, which we absolutely love and feels like it really sets this place apart from other restaurants. The consistency of the ice cream was very off too. More icy- not as smooth and creamy like before. The seasoning on the appetizers also missed the mark today--they were noticeably bland compared to our previous visits. On top of all that, we encountered a situation that didn't quite make sense to us and left us feeling a little disappointed with how it was handled. My unpopular opinion about their gratuity policy. They have an automatic 18% gratuity for parties of 6 or more, which I can understand when a large group is actually seated and served together- more work for servers so automatic gratuity is fair. However, given the way their tables are set up, only four hot pots can fit at one table. So if a group of 5 adults or more comes in, they would have to be seated at separate tables anyway. If the tables are separate and each party is being served separately, what difference does it make whether they came in together or just happen to know each other? We met up with a few people and asked if there are available tables where we can sit across from each other. We were two completely separate parties--our table had only three people, and we were paying for our meals separately. When we checked out, however, both of our checks had an 18% automatic gratuity added. I asked the waitress if there was a mistake, and she said, "This is considered one party." I was confused because we were clearly two separate parties, seated at separate tables, with separate checks. I explained this to her, but she seemed annoyed and simply said, "Okay," before walking away. The 18% gratuity was eventually removed, but the interaction left a bad taste in our mouths. It wasn't so much the gratuity itself as the fact that the policy didn't seem to make sense in this situation, and the explanation we received didn't clarify anything. Hopefully, this experience can help the restaurant better train their staff on how to clearly explain and apply the automatic gratuity policy in a way that feels reasonable and fair to the customer. read more

Sometimes reviews are harsh so I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt to these guys. Unfortunately it was right. I do want to say that the place is nice. It's pretty big with a lot of seating and they had these cool projections going the whole time. The service was nice too with no wait to be seated and prompt service for ordering. The let down was the food. It was misleading on how much you get. There was two people at my table and we only got three meat options between the two of us. At least offer 3 per person or something like practically every other hot pot place does. There were also no noodles at all available which I feel like is odd. The "all you can eat" refers to the conveyer belt with add in options that include vegetables, seafood and others. The food tastes alright for the most part. 3.5 Came on a Saturday at 7pm. The worker estimated a 45 minute wait, we ended up waiting for 90 minutes! I usually don't fault restaurants for the wait time, so not counting that in my rating, although I wish they had a better system for estimating the time. The hot pot broths were pretty tasty. I especially liked the Szechuan peppercorn one! We wanted to do the premium/upgraded menu but they were out of both the beef tongue and wagyu so opted for the regular instead. They allow you to order 3 sliced meats at a time. They didn't take too long to come out most of the time. The conveyer belt selections were pretty goodl. Some things were very rare to come by though, such as manila clams or bok choy. We only got 1 plate during our entire 90 min dining time. I really wanted to like this place because it came highly recommended by Seattle Foodie Adventure, but unfortunately my experience did not live up to the hype. It also wasn't a great representation of either his recommendation or the restaurant itself. We arrived around 8:30 PM, and despite there only being a little over 15 parties in the restaurant, it took about 20 minutes before anyone came to take our soup order. From what we could tell, there was only one server trying to manage four different sections of the restaurant. I don't understand why a restaurant charging premium pricing would choose to operate with that level of staffing during dinner service. The food itself was genuinely good--the soup base was flavorful and probably the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the quality of the food. We were only able to order meat twice because our server disappeared for long stretches of time. Every time we wanted to order more, we couldn't get her attention. Eventually we just gave up waiting and asked for the check because we had been sitting there so long without any service. Our plates had stacked up half of the table, but that doesnt matter. We paid around $40 per person for the premium option, but it certainly didn't feel like a premium experience. The value of an AYCE restaurant depends heavily on the ability to continuously order food, and when your server is unavailable, you're essentially paying for time spent waiting instead of eating. Before leaving, I mentioned to our server that this really shouldn't be happening, especially for a new restaurant trying to build a reputation. I understand that restaurants can have off nights, but being severely understaffed during dinner service is something management should anticipate and address. You have quail eggs fell of the plate and stuck in between those belts because they dont have any lids to cover them. Sliced meats were served in generous portions and were higher quality than we were expecting from an AYCE. The overall experience at Hotpot City was very chill and easy going. It's a very unique concept for hotpot as it has a conveyor belt as the main pin point of the restaurant. The conveyer belt was fully stocked with a variety of vegetables, noodles, seafoods, sausages, tofu, etc. everything looked and tasted fresh. You're able to order 3 plates of meat at a time, and then order more once you finish, which I thought was fair. The plates of meat came with a good amount of food. The waiters checked on us often to grab empty plates and see if we wanted to order more meat. They also stop by with broth to top off your soup. I did not select or mark any of the suggested tip options on the receipt printed at the restaurant. I intentionally left a $20 cash tip, so it simply makes no sense that I would also select a credit card tip. That would mean tipping twice, which I did not do. If you have surveillance footage and transaction records, please provide them. I welcome a full review of what happened. At this point, this is no longer just about the extra $15.06. It is about an unauthorized charge and the principle that customers should never be charged more than the amount they approved. If this was done intentionally, it is a very serious issue. If it was the result of poor training or inadequate internal controls, that is also the restaurant's responsibility. Either way, I hope you conduct a thorough investigation and ensure this cannot happen to other customers. Below is my original review content: My dining experience at Hotpot City itself was fine. However, today I discovered that my credit card was charged $115.47, even though I authorized and signed for $100.41. In addition, I left a $20 cash tip because I thought it would benefit the server more directly. Looking back, paying the tip in cash unfortunately created an opportunity for an unauthorized overcharge. I now have to spend extra time contacting my credit card company to dispute and reverse the portion of the charge that I never authorized. We arrived Wednesday at 5:30pm and there was a 15 minute wait. When you get there, you need to add your party to the waitlist via a iPad near the entrance. Most of the wait staff speak very little English. Once we were seated, we ordered so raw meat items and waited for our soup. Underlie us, their printer got stuck and our order was delayed. We waited about 10 minutes and we didn't get our soup. The waitress was very apologetic when they realized this happen and did everything she could to get us taken care of. We selected the basic version that gave us less meat options. The waitress then came back and told us they were out of all the beef options. So we decided to ask to go with the premium version. We were willing to pay for the premium version but since it wasn't our fault, they gave us the premium options with the basic price. They were very nice and apologetic. So I heard there was a new rotary hot pot in Tukwila so I had to check it out. First the wait was long. I think I had to wait about 75mins to get in. When you step in they have these unusual cgi screens on both side that show different places and animals. It's a bit jarring at first but then it starts to get endearing in a way. While the concept is unique and the broths are good, but the current operational execution does not justify the premium pricing. Here are my Key areas for improvement include: Operations & Pacing: Wait times exceeding 50 minutes for proteins indicate the kitchen requires a more efficient tracking system. The conveyor belt had only processed foods and vegetables would come maybe once every 20 minutes or something you may wanted would come once every 20-30 minutes. They were putting more things out that people weren't eating so the tracking of the customers consumption and demands were very low in their priority. 4 staff said they were helping us but we only did 2 rounds of meat or 7 plates of meat for 6 people. Which was what the table of 2 next to us had before standing up and walking out without paying. Management & Service: The team appeared overwhelmed, and management missed critical opportunities for proactive service recovery and constructive feedback integration. We were very upset that we didn't get to eat what we came for and was disappointed that the manager and management didn't understand that nothing coming to the tables were a big issue and that the sauce and hot foods bare not being refreshed in a timely matter is concerning. There was not noticeable hourly temp check at the bar or drink bar if the drink contained dairy. The belt had a lot of food that has been touch and avoided for a while so they need to remove it instead of leaving it as an option. There was food outside of plates rotating on the belt as well. As someone who used to work in restaurants it hurt me to see and me and my family was bussing our own tables and doing what we can to help but that should not be our responsibility as guest. Product Quality: The ingredient selection relied heavily on processed items with limited fresh vegetables. Additionally, patrons should note that the meat is served in unusually thick cuts. This is unfortunate if you are there for premium meats. Since they were think cut or cut against the grain the meats were not tender but chewy and tough. My buddy nalds found this place in IG reels and recommended we go here and I have to say it was quite good aside from my main complaint that the drinks machine not working at all. But yah I went through pretty much every drink in the fountain (except for Pepsi because we don't support Pepsi after they did our king of pop MJ wrong) but yah all the dranks tasted like either watered down or it was just acidic sparkling stuff. The person in front of me I seen they got a Pepsi and well their Pepsi had no color lol. Even the drinks to the right like the oolong tea and I think it was a berry tea ?? There was no taste to them and they was very warm. Also I wasn't able to find cold water it was only hot water at the drinks station. But other than that, the food was delicious! They had like veggies some seafood and little meats on the conveyer belt for you to grab while u at the table and also the broths is rlly good! I got the #9 and it was flavorful and delicious. They have good lunch prices and the portions of meats is plentiful. There is also a sauce bar that has a mini buffet style thing of Buchi balls, fried rice, shrimp & crab, fried Chgn wings, chgn feet, and some fruit. Pretty good! It was super super busy had to wait 1 hour but all staff and especially the host did her best to get us in and was very attentive. Very impressive despite the busy environment. I have been eating hotpot since I was young and I have been to many hotpot restaurants in Seattle, Bellevue and south center area. Service: 5/5. We came right as it opened and they seated us right away. When we had empty plates on the table, they removed it immediately. Staffs were all friendly. The food was very good and I especially liked the variety of drinks. One of which was the passionfruit. The food also had lots of variety from seafood to red meat to mushrooms and other vegetables. The service especially was extremely good, the waitress noticed that one of our burners wasn't working and the staff helped up troubleshoot and fix the problem without having to move to a different table. read more

We wanted to give this place a fair shot, despite all of the odd, negative reviews, so we came in once for a weekend dinner, and once for a weekday lunch. Both times, we were blown away by the phenomenal service, and the great quality food, especially for the price! It's clear that the staff work hard to cater to every table and take pride in keeping the space clean. We were regularly checked on for refills of broth and meat, and our empty plates never stacked up past a few high before being picked up. We'll be making this a regular spot from now on. read more

TERRIBLE!!! So disappointing. I was really looking forward to a new AYCE hot pot place in Tukwila. But we walked in at 11am and immediately they tried to upsell us on the "premium" menu. That's fine. It was only $5 more. We sit down and start ordering meats. The lady said they did not have any Wagyu meats or beef tongue, Ok so we ended up doing the classic meats instead. I then got up to get some drinks and almost of their soft drinks was out. All they had Mountain Dew left. I go back to sit down and our broth was still not there. We waited another 10 minutes before it came. Another 10 minutes after they bought us ONE plate of meats for the two of us. We asked for more, it took another 15 minutes for the next plate of meat to come out. After an hour, we have had 4 plates of meat and some veggies and noodles. They also did not replenish the conveyor belt food either. There was gaps of space with no food during the hour we were there. I finally gave up and hungry. We got up to leave and the server tried to apologize saying they didn't expect so many people today. That was annoying. She did give me 30% off my check but honestly I wouldn't even go back after that. We ended up getting boba and donuts after because we were so hungry. Don't come if you can help it. Service is ok. Waiter forgot to bring our orders of beef....waited more then 15 mins for 3 little plates of beef... Quality, I personal gave it a one star.... beef look like beef but not taste like beef. The stuffs on the belt is alright. Nothing bring a big hype.... Soup base is salty.... I had a bad experience at this hotpot restaurant today. My family and I arrived shortly after 11:00 AM. After we were seated, a staff member informed us that--since it was a holiday--we would be charged the dinner buffet price. I hadn't seen any notice about this at the entrance, but I agreed to it anyway and started ordering. However, when it came to selecting the soup bases, several options listed on the menu were unavailable. Then, when we tried to order meat, the staff said that premium items like Wagyu beef and beef tongue--listed under the "PREMIUM DINNER" section--were all sold out. Moving to the "CLASSIC DINNER" section, we were told the shrimp paste was out of stock. So, I have to ask: aside from the shrimp paste, how does the "CLASSIC DINNER" menu differ from the "PREMIUM LUNCH" menu? Why rip customers off like this? Is that kind of pricing really reasonable? I think it would be more reasonable if the restaurant stated that today is a holiday and charged only the PREMIUM LUNCH price for the midday meal. read more

This is an update to the manager's response, I'm very disappointed that you're trying to cover up everything I stated. You first said that the wait list gets removed as a guests are seated. My name was on that list and I saw her remove it so I stood there waiting for her to call my name which she never did. Number two. The belt had hardly any variety that was described on the first review. It was mostly vegetable. There were clams and oysters and that was just about it. No abalone like had said there was and several other items were not present. The self-serve section where you get your condiments and other meats were not up to Temp. The oxtails and the chicken wings were at best 70° which is in violation of the health department. The quality was very bad has the oxtail were so tough and dried out like they sat there for a couple hours and it being cold was another thing. How you can cover up or think you can cover these things up and not accept your faults is beyond me. I know the Food Business very well and trust me if the Health Department Where to make a surprise visit that day? They would have shut you down no doubt about it. Also one thing I didn't mention it had to have been 85° in there or even warmer. You wouldn't even turn on the AC. That's pretty cheap. Don't really think and you can go ahead and try to tell me all your little lies that I just read but I wasn't the only one there that day and I can guarantee you many people were not happy. If you want to keep running this place the way you are you won't be in business long. You are very poor excuse of a manager!! read more
