Came to Houlihan's for happy hour on a Wednesday night- a friend and I were quickly seated in the bar area and greeted by an attentive server. Houlihan's has always been a thought of mine for decent happy hour specials- they feature $1 off draft beers and a few of their appetizers are discounted to $3- $7. I was somewhat disappointed with the food choices we ordered, including flat breads, buffalo chicken fingers, and nachos. Nothing out of the ordinary- and ordering a Blue Mood for $5 is definitely not a note worthy happy hour price. The four star review has to be credited to the service and cleanliness of the restaurant. Our server was knowledgeable and never left water cups empty throughout the meal. read more

We used to come frequently at night until the smell of cleaning products, bleach, etc made us sick while they cleaned behind the bar as customers were still sitting there! I asked mgmt why don't they have an outside cleaning crew do it & not the bartenders! They said oh it's not done why the customers are sitting there -oh contrare! I came here on a Wednesday night with my girlfriend. As soon as we got there we could tell it was busy, not a problem. We gave the front desk hostess our phone number so we could be put on the wait list and she told us the wait was 25-30 minutes, no problem. We went to sit out in the parking lot while we waited for our table and came in as soon as we got the message that our table was ready and surprise! The front desk hostess had given away our table in the 45 seconds it took us to leave the car and come inside. She was also constantly pulling down her mask to u lock her phone and texting the entire time. After waiting another 10 minutes for another table to come along she offered us a high top table which was unbelievably sticky to the point we had to put the cloths wrapping our utensils down so our arms wouldn't stick to the tabletop. The server we got was great, the food was good, but the initial customer service we were met with was enough to make us decide we will not be coming back. More like FOOLihans. read more

I come here often and never had any problems. Food is always delicious and the service is usually great. Many times we come here before going to movies and even when we're on a time crunch they get us in and out with great food and service! Today we sat in the bar for happy hour and it did not disappoint! Decided to order a few appetizers to share instead of meals. Got the bar nachos, chicken avocado egg rolls, and the burger sliders. Had one of today's specials. The " Short Ribs Lasagna " was highly recommended by our waitress. I agree with her. It was great. This is a restaurant with everything one seeks for a holiday meal with family. I have never felt rushed or unappreciated. One of our party uses a walker. Have to say this place surprised me. After a seminar with hubby & a friend we decided to stop at Urban Coalhouse for a beer & some food. Much to our surprise on a Friday evening the place was closed so we went to Houlihan's located in the same shopping center. I didn't eat but my husband did. He ordered a salad of pecan encrusted chicken which looked fabulous & he said was very good. My review this trip is for the beer. I had never seen any decent beer selections at a Houlihan's in the past so I have stayed away, however, I was very please to have a few choices here. The food here was really good. Coming from New York and being new to this area it's good to find a place that serves great food and has a nice variety. The prime rib and jalapeño popper chicken was delicious. My kids also enjoyed their shrimp and stir fry meals. Can't complain about anything taste wise food was on point. More importantly the service here is excellent. Laura our waitress was on top of everything we never had to look around and ask for refills or wait long to see her. She was around and checked in perfectly from time to time. One of the best waitresses I have every dealt with. Very nice young lady. No request was a problem for her. Also the manager Amanda did a great job at making us feel welcomed , with smiles and friendly conversation . She also made sure everything was good and took care of us. She def knows how to manage a restaurant and how to treat patrons. Both young ladies represented the restaurant superb. I Highly recommend if you want quality food and great service. We stopped by here at 11:30 pm after we checked into the hotel. We were seated in the bar and our waiter TJ was right with us. I had the New Orleans Gumbo and Joe had a Juicy Lucy burger. The gumbo was the best I have ever had and Joe said his burger was perfect. My Margarita was very yummy too! I would go back and eat there again tomorrow if I chance. read more

I usually always order a burger which are very good or the Ahi Tuna Salad which I had Monday. Always good but was disappointed in the dressings which tasted a little bland. Not as good as I remember in the past. Also I ordered Sauvignon Blanc (white wine) but she brought me some kind of red wine not realizing the error. She did correct the mistake with no problem. We just moved to the area so my boyfriend and I came here for lunch. We were surprised at how busy it was for a Sunday afternoon. The food took a little long to come out so we were both saying we probably wouldn't come back but right as we were saying that the manager I think her name was Jennifer came over and apologized, said the kitchen was backed up and she took 20% off our bill and for that reason we will most definitely be back. This is the most disgusting place ever!! Do not ever order from here. First off the potato skins were cold and dry, the ribs were ok but super dry. Went a few nights ago, just to get something, very friendly wait staff and host. On Black Friday I visited this place for apps and drinks with a friend, I had my wallet in my jacket and unfortunately I misplaced it at this place, when I got home I didn't have it so I decided to reach out for help, the people who helped initially seemed to want to help me but after taking my number and information the place did not reach out, I called again to speak to a manager to see if they could help me track it, . They never returned my phone cAll nor seemed able to put a sense of urgency. Regardless of wether the wallet was theRe or not no one seemed to empathize with my situation. Had dinner at the bar, chicken came out pink so I questioned it. The bartender told me that is normal for Houlihans, she came up with a two minute explanation why that happens to their chicken. So, I took her word for it and ate my dinner. Unfortunately I never made it out of the restaurant. I had to run to the Houlihans bathroom to get sick from what was served to me. I called the restaurant , the first manager I spoke to hung up on me! I called back and somehow got to a second manager/chef. He also made excuse after excuse why their is nothing wrong with the chicken and pink chicken is normal at Houlihans . Still not understanding and still sick I talked to the GM. He agreed with me, said the chicken should not be pink and they have nothing but problems. Gary the GM said he'd send me a gift card to come back, gift card never was sent. Really good! Went with the kids and my husband to the new location on Route 70 in Brick. The kids meals are under $6, come with carrots/ranch appetizer (they allowed a substitution of steamed broccoli for my 14 month old daughter who can't chew carrots yet) the meal, drink and ice cream. Great deal. I got a burger with Gorgonzola cheese on it. The burger was actually done "medium" which is what I asked for but which rarely happens when I order it at a restaurant - they usually come to me well done. The cheese tasted a little like goat's milk, but I'm pretty sure that's just what gorgonzola tastes like. The BEST part was the desert we ordered. The Creme Brule was seriously the best dessert I've ever gotten out to eat. It was delicious and had the crispy sugar coating on top that you know they used one of those hand held torches to create. One of our favorite restaurants but when we visited a few ago it was a little rough, 45 minute wait for us but somehow there were several parties that came in a seemed to have known the hostess and were seated right away (at tables, not the bar or the high tops). Then we waited at our table for a good 15 minutes before we were acknowledged and then over an hour for our lukewarm meal to get to us. One of the things that makes this place great is it's happy hour. From 4-7 in the bar area, you can get $5 appetizers (there is a list on each table of which ones are on the special) and $1 off pints of beer. I love the Thai spiced wings so I always order those but I've seen the sliders and they look good as well. The tuna wontons are very good. Tuna sashimi wrapped in a wonton and fried, cut like a sushi roll and put on the plate with wasabi and a little asian style salad. I did have dinner once at which I ordered the prime rib. I'd definitely come back. It was a very nice, soft piece of meat with all of the fixings. Loaded baked potato and string beans and don't forget the horseradish!
