during covid-19 houlihan's has been doing outdoor dinning and doing a very good job at it! they have a full court yard area available for outdoor dinning as well as some seats available in the front of there restaurant. my family and i decided to try out houlihan's for dinner and i ended up getting a appetizer of a house salad as well as an impossible burger without cheese and with a gluten free bun. it was so delicious! there french fries are amazing as well! my family really enjoyed there dinners as well. definitely recommend trying if you haven't! read more

I had a birthday voucher for $15 so we went on my birthday, 5/28, and when I showed it to my waitress, she said I could pick any entree except the $21.99 set price category, which is what I wanted and always get. So I picked an entree that cost $23. My wife however picked an entree not from the set price category. We ordered. I was still upset with the situation. Then my wife said I should have given her the voucher and I could have ordered from "the forbidden category." it was too late to change. Next month is her birthday. We have had such a great experience in the past but I must tell everyone do not order delivery.. I ordered Traditional Chicken Tender (20) Weds 3/24 @ 6:21pm.. The email said expect delivery in about 51 mins at 7:12 pm.. 7:10 came and refreshing website and nothing is changing, so I call the location spoke with Cary which I said I just wondering about my order as I ordered about an hour ago, puts me on hold and comes back to say well you ordered at 6:39pm so it's not been an hour, your food is almost prepared and we are waiting for a Door Dash driver.. So at 8:04pm I get notification that a doordash driver was on his was to location to pick up my order.. Finally get our ordered delivered at 8:39 pm all the food is 80 degrees and we only received 12 tenders when I ordered the 20 tenders as the platter.. My mom really likes Houlihan's, so I've been to the Brick location 3 times over the past two months. I, however, am not as big a fan as my mother. If it were up to me, we would dine elsewhere, but it's not a bad choice for a night out with friends, etc.,... or mommy dearest! hehe! So what's good? I would stick to appetizers, burgers, soup, salad, and quiche! I'm a huge quiche fan and Houlihan's makes a really good one. My favorite is the Florentine, nice and fluffy and healthy, too! I had the veggie burger once with a gluten free bun and that was quite good. It was also nice to see that they have some gluten free options. The lettuce wraps are also a yummy appetizer, and I've had the french onion soup as well as the potato soup- both equally satisfying. I also had the calamari and one of the flatbreads here before, but of which were pretty good. No complaints! The creme brulee is also a must have for a desert coice! Delicious. Drinks are pretty good. They have a decent wine selection as well as beer. They also have a lot of drink specials and lots of TVs in the bar area to watch sports, etc. If you like to drink, the bar area (whether you are seated at the bar itself or a hightop table), is a fun place to grab a drink and an appetizer with a friend, etc. Where Houlihan's falls short is their entrees. Perhaps I have just ordered the wrong thing. They do give you large portions, but quantity does not always mean quality. I had the steak fajitas not too long ago, and opted for lettuce wraps rather than corn tortilla. The fajitas were super salty. I ordered the vegetarian fajitas another night (trying to cut down on meat), and that was even saltier. It was really a "stir fry". I remember searching for the peppers and onions I love so much and being really confused by what I had ordered. I know Houlihan's is not a Mexican restaurant, so I didn't order either entree with huge expectations, but it's safe to say I won't be ordering those two items again! I switched things up and had the Zucchini Marinara with chicken tonight. Not good. The coffee shop I frequent puts this dish to shame.... and it's a coffee shop!!! The zucchini pasta itself wasn't too bad, but the marina was just so so and the zucchini did not taste fresh. The chicken that came with the dish was the kind of chicken you would buy to put on top of your salad.... and it just did not mix with the pasta dish. I hate wasting food, so I took the chicken home for my dog. I LOVE my dog, so don't get me wrong- the chicken wasn't that bad! My mom always gets the chicken parm every time we go to Houlihan's. She likes it, but admits it's not the best she has ever had. She likes that she gets two chicken breasts and can pack one up for lunch the next day. The chicken, however, lacked flavor. My mom even pointed that fact out to me... she is just not as picky as I am when it comes to food! Chicken parm is a really easy meal to make, so if you are Italian or are used to Italian cooking, I would pass on this dish. I also feel as though I should add that the bread they give you along with your dish is SUPER sweet... and really doesn't pair well with an Italian meal. My sister and brother in law came with us one night and the both ordered the Navajo Chicken Pasta. They enjoyed it, so that might be a good choice. It's supposed to be spicy, but it's not. Which might be a good thing if you are looking for something on the mild side. I'm a bit perplexed as to why they named it Navajo... I am probably getting carried away at this point, but I don't see the connection? Service, however, has always been excellent. Very friendly waiters and waitresses. One time a manager checked to see how we were doing, which was nice. They also accept the local flavor app, which is great! Overall, this place is exactly as the stars indicate, it's A'OK! We decided to give them another try... this place used to be GREAT! We used to be regulars... but ever since Covid it has been really bad. Today we were there for lunch at the bar. Ordered drinks and we're perusing the menu when my Bloody Mary arrived with a moldy celery stalk. When I alerted the server as to the situation she took the stalk and threw it away. I've got to say for a big national chain this place impressed me. I usually avoid places like these but being after 9pm and our first choice was closed (on a Friday night?) we decided on Houlihans. Three of us sat at the bar and ordered beers. Their draft selection was meager but I managed to get a fresh local ipa. I was the only one eating and decided on the salad with pecan encrusted chicken. It came with a large amount of chicken, crumbled bleu, dried cranberries, apples, mandarin oranges, and sprinkled with spicy roasted pecans. There was good dressing on it but no clue what it was. I totally enjoyed the salad even if it was served on a dumb triangular plate :-). Service was excellent; glad we stopped. read more

I told him YES, that is a wonderful idea and by the way can we eat at Houlihan's! So we set up a reservation and my local family and I of course, all gathered together for my Birthday dinner. Right from the get-go, we requested and were provided with a hi-top table. Very critical for me due to a muscle disease, I cannot get up from a lower standard dining room chair. This was my first time visiting the Houlihan's in Cherry Hill. Previously I have only been to the one in Brick and every experience there was highly favorable. Had a reservation, we were sat promptly but it took 15-20 mins for the waitress to come to our table and take an order. After that it took another 20 minutes to get the beverage I ordered. The waitress was courteous but I was not happy with my experience. My dessert was ruined by the frozen sugar then put on my cheesecake and my entree was missing an item I had to ask for. read more

Super impressed with this restaurant for lunch. Stopped in for a quick bite and they have pretty decent lunch menu specials. Had the unlimited soup deal along with salad. Potato soup was crazy delicious! The salad comes with a roll that they'll bring you more of and if your a carbie like me, you'll def enjoy them. My friend had the fish tacos which she polished off quickly. Waiter was super nice and attentive. Suggested the soup and the $5 pineapple mule which did not disappoint. Best chain restaurant in NJ hands down. Food is delivered fresh daily, therefore you'll never have anything frozen. Meals are always consistent. It's difficult to try something and not like it here. This was our first visit and we only stopped because everything else was too crowded on a Friday night. We have mixed reviews because while this was a chain restaurant the food was surprisingly good and there was plenty of it but the problem was none of the food was hot. not even the soup and that's a turn off for me. The disco fries had a velvety brown gravy that was wonderful but there were only like 3 strands of cheese melted and the base of fries were also not hot. While our waitress was cheery, welcoming and smiling all the time she piled our three courses all on top of each other so we literally had all three courses on the table at one time -- another huge no no. We will not likely try it again even though the food really was tasty. .... just poorly executed and even worse, so badly served. read more

My wife and I went at 6:30 Saturday night. We were quoted a 30 minute wait (no problem, understandable). We were called in 15 minutes, pleasant surprise. We were sat at a nice booth. Our server, Jenna R had greeted us immediately. I have a long background in the restaurant industry so I may notice things others do not, I tend to find myself watching everything that goes on. I observed a noticeable pleasant attitude not only with Jenna R but with many other servers and staff. The staff seemed "happy" to be working there and it showed that they liked what they were doing. The place was packed but the managers were doing rounds, communication was obvious and the restaurant s front of the house was running like a well oiled machine for a busy Saturday night. Jenna R was excellent! If she's not a trainer-she should be! Spot on everything! The kitchen seemed like it was well run and organized. Our food came out at perfect times.
