My husband and I just had dinner here. I told the waitress I will have caesar salad first before my entree which is a small order of fried mushrooms. The mushrooms was brought out way before my husbands entree which I thought was not the proper way to serve. The Caesar salad had hardly any dressing so I asked for some on the side. To my surprise they charged an extra $0.50 for this. I've been eating out at restaurants in Columbus for 35 years and no restaurant has ever charged extra for salad dressing. We've eaten here many times as a family and with friends before. Would I come back? Not by a long shot. Too many other choices to be so aggravated by such poor management. read more

Walked in by myself for dinner and even though the restaurant was only 1/2 full was told a 10-15 min wait. Asked why so long and pointed to the empty tables? She said "we want to space out the customers so our waitstaff can better serve you." ??? I asked if the were under staffer? She said "no". Asked if I could sit in the bar since it was even less full and she hmmm'd & hawed and said I guess so but you'll still have a wait. ??? I don't understand why they wouldn't seat people when there are empty tables. I sat down in the bar and was basically ignored for 10 minutes before someone (who was pleasant) came to even give me a menu and get a drink order. The drink was good the food was pretty good, but I think they need some help training their staff...if they can't handle a 1/2 full restaurant with as many crew as they had working, there is a problem. read more

Anything I have tried has tasted good. I prefer the Boneless Thai Chile wings most of the time. I have ventured out a little this last time and tried a small plate special on the asparagus salad. A friend and myself decided to go to this location for a quick bite to eat, the food was wonderful, but the female bartender was very sloppy, she finished a wine bottle and left it sitting right in front of me, her purse was also behind the bar as well as a Ipad charging in plain sight. There were about 15 dirty glasses that were in need of being washed and while the bar was not busy she and the male bartender did a shot with two female customers instead of picking up the bar. I'm applaud that the bartenders there are allowed to drink while working and having work to be done. This is the first time I have ever been to this location and will be my last! Houlihan's on Airport Thruway in Columbus, Ga has always been a favorite. It's pricier than a normal eatery ($15 per person), but I don't mind splurging every now and then. The food is definitely worth the budget splurge! Love the Thai chicken, Thai chicken wings, pulled pork, fish tacos, pot roast. I haven't had anything bad to eat here. The servers all have exceptional service. Portion sizes are perfect. In the past, I've had several different alcoholic beverages, and they were all delicious. read more

Tonight I had the worst experience at Houlihans. We waited 30mins for someone to greet us, only to tell us that there was a 15minute wait because she couldn't get her staff in order. She said we could sit at the bar, and we were more likely to be served faster at the bar then waiting for a table. Well, we sat at the bar. While at the bar, the bartender was more concerned in taking shots of liquor with her buddies who worked at houlihans (they were off the clock and in regular clothes) than taking our orders. Literally waited for 30mins before she finally realized she forgot us about and finally got us our drinks. It doesn't stop there....... she continued to take more shots with her friends while on the clock, and yelled vulgar words back and forth with one another. Never heard someone say "bitch" so much in my life. It got to the point where I just wanted to pay for my drink and leave. The service was horrible. I will never go back and definitely don't recommend anyone to go here ever again. I used to love this place. I don't know how it got so run down.... To the bartender in the auburn shirt, PLEASE QUIT... You were the worse bartender I've ever encountered and it was awful for me to continue seeing your plumbers butt. The four of us were greeted and seated immediately on a Saturday night. Our drink orders were taken and promptly served and then our dinner orders were taken. The dinners were served in a hodge podge fashion. It seams like they were served as the kitchen prepared the dinners except for my meatloaf dinner which was served after everyone else had finished their dinner. The service is always prompt and courteous, the restaurant and restrooms spotlessly clean, and the food tastes good. We have homes in Georgia and Alabama, and Houlihan's makes a very good halfway stop en route between the two. It's a little out of our way, but worth the extra effort. read more

Not what I expected from a Hoolihan's. I've been to a couple and they were so much better. Food was alright but when the woman who seemed to be a manager came over with our food , she only brought one pair of chopsticks , I was with my husband and she didn't care to ask if we needed more. Stayed at the hotel all week and the beer taps didn't work for the entire week. Had three bar tenders all making excuses and most blamed the owner for "being too cheap to fix a long running problem". On the third day, the manager came out and offered nothing but "yea, they aren't working. Called the vendor and they aren't responsive". A whole lot of excuses but no one taking action to fix things. Additionally, the hamburger I ordered was very over cooked and the fish and chips a college ordered were cold. Overall, not a good restaurant experience after multiple visits, I'd recommend you spend your money elsewhere. read more

5 stars does not do this place justice. I stayed at the Double Tree, which Houlihans is attached to, for three months. The service at this establishment is second to none. All of the wait staff was beyond welcoming and accommodating. Never at any point in time during those three months did I ever have an issue with service. The food was delicious and timely, and the bartending staff (Hope, Matt, Christel, Michaela to name a few) was beyond excellent. The staff was so open and welcoming to the point that I made friends with almost everyone. I would recommend this establishment to anyone and everyone in a heartbeat. They brought out the wrong food, and when they brought out the correct dish, the french fries were mostly raw and white, and the cheese was not even melted. I arrived at Houlihan's for a going away party for a friend which was in a party room. The hostess, who was standing at my station, ignored me. I had to call my friend for her to tell me where she was. My group had already ordered drinks. I ordered the same thing they were drinking. Ten minutes no drink. Thirty minutes no drink. Fourty five minutes no drink. Keep in mind other people have joined us after I did and received their drinks. An hour later the waiter decides to try and bring me a drink and I refused it. There were several issues with the food. One plate had to be sent back twice because the food was cold. The asparagus was still frozen!! The manager, a red headed lady, handled the problem with an attitude. Needless to say I will NOT be back. read more

Ordered something simple, French Onion Soup. When served, it was only Luke Warm. I apologized for asking to have it heated up a bit. You could hear the kitchen staff from the bar and they became pissed that I sent it back. When brought out a new one, it was just like the first one, NOT very hot and just Luke Warm. Obviously the kitchen staff is going to serve it the way they want to and NOT accommodate the customers request. I won't be back. They can't even heat up and serve a cup of soup! I've been to this Houlihans a couple times after work to meet friends and have a few drinks. Every time I have been it has been great. However, we came this past Tuesday and sat at the bar and the bar tender acknowledged us but then waited 10 minutes before even asking us what we would like to drink. We stopped by after church for lunch and were very disappointed. There was a church service going on in the conference room. You could hear the whole thing through the walls. Very loud and distracting while you're trying to eat. There was a couple making out in the booth across from us and we felt very uneasy. Our waitress talked to the hostess the whole time. I've been a fan of the downtown Columbus Houlihans for a few years (admittedly hit or miss quality) and I was optimistic for the Airport Way Houlihans. I've been three times to be fair, and each time is worse than the last. Dinner is hit or miss. Lunch is horrible. The staff / leadership are definitely not the varsity string. Ordered the Truck Stop fries as an App (which are addicting), ended up being served the more expensive Disco Fries (pot roast / gravy instead of cheese). I asked the waiter if they were the truck stop fries and he insisted they were. I always want to give the wait staff the benefit of the doubt (they work with the menu), so I let him walk away. Since the kitchen decided to serve the app with the meal the next time I saw the waiter was 10 minutes later when he accidentally made eye contact (there were only two tables occupied in the whole place) and showed him the menu. He took the dish back to the kitchen and returned 5 minutes after we were done eating with the Disco fries. They weren't even half cooked, completely white and only hot from being dunked in the fryer. The cheese was about half melted. When confronted, he agreed not to charge us for the fries, but only because they were inedible and we hadn't touched them. Classy. So bottom line. The entrees were extremely average. We went to Houlihans specifically for the Truck Stop Fries and through an impressive display of apathy they managed to jack it up twice. Its also the first time I've ever sent a dish back to the kitchen... so point Houlihans. Stick with the Downtown Columbus Houlihans if you want tasty apps. The only reason I'd ever go back, or point someone to the Double Tree Houlihans is it's Friday night and you don't want to wait an hour for a table anywhere else in Columbus. /kind of hoping they switch management. read more

I never thought this place harbored such racist ideals. Myself along with several others were invited to interview for jobs. This was held in the banquet room. Some of us were asked to sit out of that area until called apon. About 20 mins later the manager/owner approached us and said, in a very rude manner,"Y'all gotta get up and out of my place." The service was excellent with a competent staff. The atmosphere is mellow and inviting with colors of fall. The menu is appealing to the majority with options of seafood, country, salads, and meat lover's delights. Appetizers like the stuffed mushrooms are wondrous in taste and portion. We had an extremely long wait. Took forever for a waiter to come to our table. Once they did arrive we asked them if we should bother staying or should leave and go to another restaurant. We were told that the wait would be long but we would be taken care of. It was my moms birthday so we didn't mind too much waiting long and talking. However, the issue is that once our food arrived, it arrived with no silverware. We asked multiple times for silverware, my father having to go back to the kitchen twice to ask for silverware. My family stared at our expensive meals in front of us with no way of eating it. The food got cold in front of us and I finally started eating with my hands. We were told by a manager that they had no silverware. Once the waiter came back, he said he cleaned the silverware himself so that we could have it. But it was way too late by then, our food was already cold. Heather the manager came out and told us they would "buy more silverware in the future." They said they would take off a meal for the birthday discount available on their website to compensate us for our horrible experience. However, only $10 was taken off our ticket. This has been my most insane dinner experience. My family all said sorry to my mother for her horrible birthday dinner, a courtesy not shown by this restaurant. The food was horrible. At this restaurant, for my sister's birthday. 9 peoples at table 4 people did not like meal. I ordered a steak, added 5 shrimp with loaded baked potato and asparagus. The steak tasted like it was cooked on a flat surface ( like you cook pancakes) and not on a grill. No Heinz 57 steak sauce. House salad had corn in the salad yuk!
