Hey, it's Houlihans - it's exactly what you think its going to be. Location is good, food is decent enough, usually don't have to wait, service is friendly. Its super convenient if you are going to the movies across the street. My favorite is that on Sundays (may be only during football season but I hope not), they have $5 appetizers at the bar. They have excellent boneless buffalo chicken strips (awesome!) and very good bruschetta. They also offer some beer specials but nothing on mixed drinks during that time. read more

Surprisingly good value and a good meal for a chain restaurant. It had been a while since I had been to a Houlihan's and they have made some nice menu changes. They now offer a great selection of small plates when you don't necessarily want a full meal or would like more then the appetizer sampler for some variety. They also offer an option other then fries to go with sandwiches which is great. Try the disco fries when you go and be sure to check into Foursquare when you are there, as I got a $5 discount on my meal for being a 'newbie' there. read more

The service was alright, the tables and menus were sticky and dirty. We had the firecracker cauliflower to start which was the best thing I've ever tasted. However the entree was not that great. Well, as a former server for the company today was the first time I went to dinner in Secaucus and the service was horrible. We were served by Steve and he was dismissive and just all over the place. My mother showed him that her knife was dirty once she undid her napkin and he looked at her and walked away. I had to point it out to him again once he returned. I get it he may have been a closer and had to check side work, but that doesn't mean that you slack on your tables. He never did the 10 minute check after dropping our food. We wanted waters and had to wait for them. I wanted a to go box and he said ok. I had to ask him 2 more times. Also, he looked completely disheveled his shirt was tucked out. I've been going to houlihans from edgewater to Paramus, NJ all my life. But this one (Secaucus) seems to never get it right. Last time I ordered to go. I asked for buffalo chicken tenders the young lady who took my order asked me did they have them... I mean you work there you should be the one to know. Then today my bf and I walked out due to lack of service. Sat in the bar area and waited 10+ minutes as no one came to ask us if we wanted menus. Let alone a glass of water. I'm not a big fan of other menu items at Houlihan's but they have a scrumptious, classic American pie on the dessert menu - the apple pie with ice-cream. It contains walnuts and it's a little bit crunchy on the top, which both add to the taste experience. I think it's the best dessert in the area, good enough to make two stops if I eat out just to have it (hint: if you just want dessert, try to find seats at the bar for a much faster dining experience). This is a pretty good spot for some food, beer, and sports. Plenty of tv's around in the bar area and it's a fun atmosphere. I ordered a salad and wrap combo, pretty standard. Friendly service. This location does get super packed on weekends.. when the weather is nice it seems to never matter Because there are benches outside and an area to walk around so it helps kill time. I've never had an issue with the food here it's always been good. read more

I'm new to the Houlihans bandwagon but I'm a fan. The sriracha wings app is delicious. My fish tacos were enjoyable. The fish was breaded and crispy and flakey on the inside. Bf had a chipotle pasta dish that he liked. The restaurant and menu constantly advertises to "add it" on FB for discounts and specials. A week prior we did and got a free app coupon. Since we didnt print the coupon, the manager gave us a little push back. After a little talking, we were able to use it. If you come to this location, save yourself a headache and print whatever coupons you have. read more

The fish tacos were actually pretty good(talapia crispy on the outside battered and fried hard), but waiter service was not great by the bar if you have a table off the side. She got better as the night progressed, but at first it seemed like she never had taken an order before and was all over the place. They had newcastle on tap which is always a plus and the nachos we had as an appetizer were demolished quickly. The nachos was scarce on the meats and jalapenos though. If I could give a lower rating, I would. We walked in with our party of four and wanted to be seated outside, where we saw two empty tables that needed to be bussed. The hostess asked one of the waiters what the wait time was, he gave her a dirty look and told her 45 min. I should have just left then but we decided to stay. It was downhill from there. The restaurant was so smoky like something had been burned in the kitchen, the bathroom garbage was over flowing and only two of the four stalls were operational. After checking back on our table myself, we were seated outside. Where there were now five empty tables. The food was ok. But we just got apps. We had to chase down our second drinks at the bar when they never came, and then also our waiter when we wanted to pay our bill. There are too many locations to chose from for the Secaucus location to do so poorly at customer service. Very disappointing. read more

I go there quite often - Food is very consistent and always good. I'm a big fan of there new small size plates. Get some slider, some of their fancy fries, and you got yourself a meal with a lot of variety and interesting flavors. Definitely some creativity in their menu. Whenever I need a bite to eat and a smiling face after work I stop by Houlihan's. The menu is extensive and the beverages are great. A recent stop I was greeted at the door by Zaida the manager who found me a seat at the crowded bar. The bartender's Ashley and Mousia were great. Always made me feel welcome. If I ever had a complaint about Houlihan's is that they need to improve on their craft beer selection. Too few craft beers on tap and bottled. I had a very nice time. The wait staff was impeccable, we had a server named who was attentive to our needs. The atmosphere was very mellow, dim lights and the works. I particularly enjoyed my meal, the "coriander salmon". It had a DELICIOUS cilantro lime sauce. I'm not sure why I returned to this place. I've been here a few times now, mostly because a co-worker wanted to go. Tonight though I wasn't even greeted when I walked in. I walked up to the hostess station and with a smile, I said hello and asked how she was doing. She just gave me a blank stare. After an awkward moment of silence I told her how many were in my party.
