We had stopped by the highway, where the view of lush greenery and rolling hills was nice. I approve! It was nice to sit on the patio watching the passing cars, and the tarp above us provided pleasant shade from the sun. My daughter and I shared the Biscuits and Gravy with scrambled eggs and sausages. The homemade biscuits were buttery and flaky--absolutely delicious. My partner and her daughter shared either a skillet or an omelet; I don't quite remember since I didn't take a picture. Regardless, we were all satisfied with our meals and ready to continue our adventure. The service was friendly and efficient. I didn't even get to check out inside the restaurant. Was there an inside? A quick tip: you'll need a key to access the restrooms. I noticed several people walk over only to discover the door was locked, so I made sure to ask for the key. According to their website, this place has a fascinating history--it once served as a miner's supply store before becoming a hotel. I believe there are still rooms available, as I noticed you can reserve cabins with twin and queen beds. While I might not stay in a cabin myself, I would definitely return for the food.

The only thing to note is that parking is limited so I image some days are busier than others so you may want to stop by during off hours. We came for an early lunch on a Monday on our way back to the city from visiting Yosemite. They offer breakfast and lunch options. All the food taste fresh and the prices were reasonable. All of us ordered different burgers with a side of our choice. I had the hot and spicy burger which was topped with jalapeño, pepper jack cheese and salsa. It was not that spicy but had good flavor. The salsa was a bit messy so I probably wouldn't get it again. For my side I had the sweet potato fries and wish they were more crispy. I enjoyed the regular fries off my husband's plate more. I also had a taste of the coleslaw which was also good. The burger itself was cooked well but not dry. We all shared the cheesecake for dessert which was thick and creamy just as you expect. I also had the fresh lemonade which was refreshing but could have more lemon flavor in it. Overall we all enjoyed our food and would recommend visiting.

Finally, on a whim, my brother and I decided to give it a go on our way home from our latest visit. The history and architecture of this place are phenomenal. Made me nostalgic for summer trips to Reno and the short drive up to Virginia City. Our waitress was super nice and let us know about the special of the day, chili verde. My brother ordered that and I got the pulled pork sandwich. Both dishes were excellent and, despite really enjoying my sandwich, I had some order envy because my brother's chili verde was so good. It came with beans, rice, a grilled jalapeño, and two tortillas. There could've been more meat in the dish, but it was a great plate overall, and a better chili verde than I've had at some Mexican restaurants. The pulled pork was absolutely delicious. Tender, smoky, and a ton of meat piled between two soft buns. The fries were great, too. You could smell the meat smoking from inside the bar and it was so pleasant, combined with the atmosphere inside and the setting sun outside. The only gripe was that the food definitely took a while to come out. Not sure if there was a backup in the kitchen or something, but it would've been nice if someone had come out to acknowledge the wait and at least let us know when it might be coming out. Regardless, the waitresses were nice the entire time and the meal was fantastic, so I'd be happy to come back on our next visit -- and won't wait another 20+ years this time.

The portions are generous (if you are a senior with a smaller appetite they have a senior portion on some menu items at a reduced price). They offer indoor & covered outdoor dining. There is also a daily specials board with dishes not on their regular menu. Today I had their cranberry coconut banana bread pudding breakfast (from the specials menu). It came with choice of breakfast meat & 2 eggs. Loved it! I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a solid breakfast at a good price. They offer a lunch menu too, but I am all about breakfast. Yum!

I ordered the chile verde omelet, and it was very good. It was flavorful and clearly something they do well. My server was very sweet and welcoming, which always matters to me. After I was seated, I was left alone for some time. It wasn't a big deal as I wasn't in a rush. As I mentioned, everyone was very friendly. If you are traveling through Jamestown, this place is worth a stop. It has a genuine local vibe and it feels like a spot the community truly supports.
