Such great fresh food and menu in Malibu. We had great tasty burritos. Amazing ambiance and screens are up so you can watch some FIFA World Cup Soccer games while you eat! Nice service and the prices are so reasonable too.

Howdy's is a gem and Howdy is a legend. This is fast casual. Patio only seating. Counter service. Love the food! My fav is the $18 Mexican pizza. It's the size of a pizza and delish! Located in the Lumber Yard by the Whole Foods in Malibu. There are electric car chargers right in front so you can charge as you eat.

Atmosphere and the price is to have sit down restaurant. But it is a sushi Mexican American and cross fit restaurant with order to sit. It is not what it seems like. Fairly warned.

The world famous lobster burrito is famous for a reason, it's so fresh and the ponzu and chipotle mayo sauce takes it to the next level. They have lots of outdoor seating, and the line moves pretty quickly.

Wonderful little joint with a lobster sushi burrito and a tempura shrimp sushi burrito. Both delish. My friend preferred the lobster and I preferred the shrimp - guess you will have to try both like we did! Excellent staff.

I come here often for lunch and I'm always satisfied with my meal and the service I receive. The food comes out in about 15 minutes and it's always delicious. As a vegetarian, my favorite meals are the veggie burrito or the teriyaki bowl sub tofu. The staff is friendly and attentive. If you come often the rewards stack up quickly and this translates to money off or free deserts. If you like spicy, I would definitely ask for the salsa habanero! It is soo good, one of my favorites!

So screw the locals??? Good motto. My issue was more the girls rudeness but if as an owner you don't care about the public then it makes total sense why she was rude.

Everything about Howdy's is top notch. Everything on the menu is so good. It's my go to and eat here 2-3 times a week. But aside from the food the entire staff is super friendly, treats everyone with respect and makes it so awesome to eat there. I love it.

Came at around 2 pm on a weekday so was luckily able to find a parking spot and there was no line to order. If it's busy, good luck. Food was delicious and priced well. Shrimp basket - 10/10 Shrimp were fried perfectly to be honest. Got 6 shrimp over french fries (the fries were also great, thicker pieces that were fried perfectly). Tartar sauce was great, the cocktail sauce as well (and I don't normally like cocktail sauce). Filled me up great. Small clam chowder - 7/10 Pretty solid clam chowder. I probably wouldn't get it again, but the first few spoonfuls were great and very enjoyable. Some of the clam towards the bottom was more chewy which wasn't ideal. Got a bread roll as well and it came with oyster crackers. Spent roughly $30 total, around $20 on the shrimp basket and another $6-7 on the clam chowder. Would 100% come here again, highly recommend if you're in the area looking for some tasty seafood.

We've tried the grilled salmon in the past- and it's nicely cooked and tasty - but the star of the show is their fried offerings. What could be better than a crisply fried piece of cod with delicious fries overlooking the ocean? They do a better job frying fish than much more expensive places (looking at you Santa Monica seafood restaurant). The coleslaw is always fresh, and we also love the creamy chowder, chock full of clam bits. My one note is that they do not season their food so you need to add salt and pepper to everything. The coleslaw benefits from salt and a squeeze of lemon or a few drops of the malt vinegar on the table (also good with the fries of course). I'm not sure why they don't season their fish or batter - but maybe they figure it's best to keep it unsalted and people can add seasoning? There is also hot sauce on the table which adds the perfect zing to the chowder. The people who run the place are friendly and the place is especially popular on weekends. I'd recommend coming midweek either before or after peak lunch hours. Highly recommend.

I've been coming here since they first opened, and it's remained a favorite for a reason...it never misses. There are a few things I consider completely non-negotiable, and the surf and turf roll is one of them. It's just that good! And if you love yellowtail sashimi, theirs is consistently fresh, delicate, and beautifully done. I always add extra jalapeño's, but do you. We went as a group of five and shared a bit of everything (the only way to do it, in my opinion), and there were so many standouts. The pumpkin tempura was unexpectedly addictive, and the scallops we had prepared two different ways, were absolute perfection... the kind that just melt the second they hit your palate. What really makes this place special, though, is the full experience. The service is warm and polished without ever feeling overdone, the cocktails are crafted just right, and the outdoor seating has that relaxed Malibu charm. It's the kind of place you keep coming back to, and quietly recommend to people who appreciate when things are done right.

Their Happy Hour deals are served until 5pm and are a great value. You can get a sushi combo or a sashimi combo or a 3 hand roll combo for $18. There are also some deals on bowls, beer, and wine. The deals ARE eligible for takeout which is nice. I opted for the sushi combination, which came with 5 pieces of nigiri (albacore, yellowtail, shrimp, tuna, salmon) and a choice of either a California roll or spicy tuna. I got the spicy tuna. It was a great amount of food and the sushi was wonderful. The size of the nigiri was generous without being cumbersome to eat. The ratio of rice to fish was on the lower end as well. I was a little bummed they didn't include ginger in the box but they did give soy sauce and chopsticks. -1* because it took much longer than quoted for my order and because the packaging was cracked and so when I tried to use the top as a "bowl" for soy sauce it leaked and got all over my countertop. Nonetheless, I would definitely go back and would order the same thing. Highly recommend it for sushi in Malibu at prices almost unreal.

Another employee - a woman with a long braid - is darting in and out, clearly busy, but never once acknowledges me or says hello. I eventually go inside to request a menu. The same young man asks if I'd like water; I say yes. The water never arrives. The woman with the long braid continues going in and out of the very small shop another five or six times. I'm seated directly outside the door, yet I'm completely ignored. A third employee appears, and it's clear there's confusion about who is doing what. Still, no one takes responsibility. I have to ask - again - if my order will be taken and also request water once more. At this point, I ask the young man directly whether I should just leave and go somewhere else, because it's obvious their operations aren't dialed in. I'm hungry and already know what I want: the blue crab roll and the Mexicali roll. The food comes out fairly quickly, and while it is fine and did what it needed to do, nothing ruins a meal faster than inattentive service. No one checks in to see if I need anything. At one point, the third employee mumbles a quick apology and mentions they want to close the shop door. I won't be coming back. The overall service communicated a clear lack of care, and what they managed to do exceptionally well was leave me with the impression that I didn't matter at all.

We went on a Saturday around 3pm after the beach and it was busy, but we still got seated right away for 2 people. We sat inside near the windows and honestly it still felt like we were part of the outdoor seating with the ocean breeze and open vibe. Our server Brandon was great..super friendly with a good attitude and made the experience even better. We started with 2 dirty martinis with goat cheese stuffed olives. I'm not a huge drink person so I can't overly critique cocktails, but they tasted like a proper martini and were made well. Apparently they're known for their martinis. Of course we got oysters..4 east coast and 4 west coast. The east coast oysters were smaller and I personally liked those more. The west coast ones were creamier and a little bigger, but both were very fresh. Food wise: * Clark's burger was simple but really good. Thick patty, cheese, amazing pickles (seriously I could eat a whole jar of those), and skinny fries that were almost chip-like. I personally would've liked the fries a tiny bit less crispy so they felt more potato-y, but still good overall. * Tuna carpaccio was delicious and came with this garlic aioli-type sauce on top that was sooo good. * The crudo plate was super refreshing with capers and this citrusy sauce that honestly stole the show. I asked for lemon on the side and squeezing that on top reallllly elevated the flavor. The sauce was so good I started dipping my tuna carpaccio into it too lol. Overall it was a vibe. Great atmosphere, fresh seafood, good service, and a really pretty setting. I'll definitely be back to try their dinner menu too. If you want outdoor seating (which I highly recommend if the weather is nice), definitely reserve ahead because that area fills up fast.

We had the Tuxedo and Blue Hill bay for starters and they were right on point. The steak tartare was excellent. My cocktail, the salty surfer, was not the most exciting, lacked depth, would not order again. My entree was the halibut with the chimichurri and paprika sauces. Not sure if the fish was bland and completely lacking flavor because the sauces were on the side, in which case that would be my fault, but it was meh. My Husbands sea bream was far more flavorful and a better choice. One of our party had the burger and was very happy, and another, the lobster roll. The Kale is a very strong smoke flavor with an acid topnote, very different, but not sure in a good way. Likewise, the fries were just overly salted plate decor. Dessert of pote de creme was delish, as was the key lime tort. I did not care for the chocolate mousse cake, it was not overly sweet (good), but also not a very developed chocolate flavor as it was overpowered by the fruit rather than complimented by it. The ambience is festive, which is to say loud. It is located in one of our new strip malls and had it been warmer, the patio would have been the better choice for conversation. The staff is friendly, attentive and at no point did we feel rushed. Our waiter really knew his menu and was excited about the food. This is a great option if you order the right items and such a treat to have a quality choice for dining in Malibu!
