I love salad bars cause you get to choose whatever veggies, fruits, etc to go on your salad. I'm a BIG fan of Salata so I was excited to try this place out. I don't like to compare, but I wish this place had more topping options like Salata ! More veggies, more fruits, more seeds/nuts, and more dressings. There's a lot of protein options which is cool, they have different ones such as duck and shrimp. You could order a salad off the menu or you can go down the bar line and build your own, which is what we did. I got the Japanese ginger dressing and it was really good ! It's super gingery so just be aware of that. I sampled the spicy chipotle Thai and lime cilantro dressings and I wasn't a big fan of those. I was sooo full after finishing the salad, but it was the good full. Not the greasy, tired full feeling. In my defense, I needed to balance out all the ice cream I've been eating lately. They have a TON of ingredients that I haven't seen elsewhere- edamame, caramelized onions, sautéed squash, mango, watercress, and duck! I got grilled chicken breast as my protein, which could use some work. Granted, salad dressing would've helped with the dryness, but I am not a dressing person. They are not stingy at all about portions like the salad Nazis at Salata. It was SO MUCH food that I couldn't even finish after 2 meals and had to throw the rest away (my dog s don't like kale, apparently). The cashier tried to lure me into buying a house-made cookie, but I resisted. See comment above on ice cream consumption. I tried a slice of my friend's Margherita pizza, and it was standard. This review is only for their happy hour. I've been here twice during happy hour and once did the wine and pizza deal with a friend and the other time did some of their happy hour specials. I would definitely recommend the latter more so personally, but I enjoyed both. I enjoyed their happy hour cabernet, and even my friend preferred it to their pinot noir despite liking pinot noirs better. Select wines are $5 and certain sides/apps are discounted. We got guacamole and zucchini fries and enjoyed both. We also luckily were given a free sampling of some buffalo chicken tenders with two interesting sauces. In fact, these apps and the wine served as dinner for both me and my friend, so the portions are definitely generous. My friend mentioned to the bartender that I had just gotten engaged, and she was very sweet congratulating me then and again before I left. I really appreciated the hospitality of this and the sampling of food, and I could tell they had some regulars there. Around 5:30-6 this place is not packed at all, so while the parking lot can get busy, there's a ton of room inside. Also, the lot is so huge that you will never have an issue (HUGE plus). Green is randomly located in that strip center at sage and richmond-the one that has the chipotle, specs and 24 hour fitness, but I usually find myself in the galleria area, so no complaints here! They are a fairly new local business and have only been opened for roughly 10 weeks. When you walk in, the interior is very minimal try hard=white space with wooden and green accents. Think of it as salata meets true food. It reminded my friend of Tender Greens in California in terms of look and feel. However, their logo and type choice needs some work. I WAS LIKE AHHH COMIC SANS cringe. They don't false advertise the "farm fresh organic natural bullshit," but they do pride themselves being an establishment that creates their juices as well as other offerings in-house. They offer pizzas, a salad bar (choice to make your own or order off their menu), coffee, smoothies, beers, wine and pressed juices. My friend and I decided to split their signature Salmon Ginger Salad, Mushroom Truffle Pizza and Watermelon Smoothie. It was a bit confusing at first since we didn't know how the ordering process worked as newcomers and there wasn't any visible signage on how to order what & where, but we asked the first person we saw behind the counter and he told us we could put in the salad and pizza order with him and to order the smoothie with the person at the register. After ordering we went to the register, where they told us that they have a promotion going on: if you show that you've checked in on FB, they will give you a coupon for 40% off your next visit to H.S. Green (SWEEEET). My friend and I decided to sit at the coffee/smoothie bar where we met the manager (I assume) and he gave us a complimentary cold-pressed juice of our choice (coconut water, vanilla and pineapple I think) to share! (THANKS! It had the perfect hint of sweetness from the vanilla. I recommend this one. #refreshing) Onto our food & drank order: Salmon Ginger Salad: Salmon was cooked to my liking=when its soft and melts in your mouth kind. Ginger was not too overpowering, just enough. Portion size of greens was a tad underwhelming. It was a bit over dressed to my liking but I'm picky with my dressing and I should of said something at the get go, so my fault (I still ate every piece of green on the plate tho). Mushroom Truffle Pizza: I put a 1/4 tsp of truffle oil in everything I cook at home for the most part. I think I'm addicted. Sometimes (and I mean sometimes), too much truffle oil can ruin it for me as it can over power the food (taste/smell/grease) versus compliment it. In this case, the pizza had fair amount and complimented the mushrooms and the rest of the pizza (ahem sorry Boheme). The portion size of the pizza was perfect! The Watermelon Smoothie: Refreshing as predicted with watermelon. We got to see it being made at the smoothie/coffee bar and they even offered to split it into two cups for us. DAMNnnnn VICKY BACK AT IT AGAIN WITH THEM YELP ESSAYS... Only critiques I have is ... as they grow as a business and have the opportunity and the means to rebrand, I suggest a type change (no more comic sans, or whatever ya'll used) and total price would of been perfect if it was $2-3 less, so it is a bit pricey to eat here daily. The food is delicious. I normally get the prosciutto and arugula pizza with capers. The crust is perfect and the staff is probably the nicest and friendliest staff I've ever met. They are willing to accommodate and add capers to my pizza. They greet you with a smile and are always extremely friendly and polite. I've also had the duck pizza, which was amazing, and I love the turkey wrap also. The turkey wrap is now off menu but they are more than happy to still make it for you. The prices are very reasonable and the place is extremely clean and refreshing. I always leave with a smile on my face. Went here for lunch with my friends after hearing about this place from a coworker. I was surprised about how spacious and clean this place is. There is a pretty juice and wine bar in the middle of the restaurant. I like the idea of a make your own salad bar and pizza line. The line was a little chaotic and the people working behind it didn't always seem to understand what I was asking for. I also paid for avocado, but got a measly four pieces. The next time I'd probably order a salad from the menu instead of doing the salad line. The grilled chicken that was on top of my salad was super moist, and I snagged a bite of my friend's tofu and found it was expertly prepared. For $11.99, it was a yummy and filling salad.
