We had some good food at this little Italian restaurant. We ordered the Bambino Panini, Lasagna Bolognese, Eggplant Parmigiana, and a Burrata Caprese. The panini was very tasty and I loved the bread; crispy with a little chew. The Burrata caprese had very fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and a sweet and tangy balsamic vinaigrette. The lasagna was very tasty, with layers of pasta, meat and savory tomato sauce. The Eggplant parmigiana was very good as well, similar to the lasagna. The restaurant has plenty of seating inside and in the patio area. Staff were very helpful, friendly, and attentive. Food came out quick, hot and fresh. The restaurant is kept very clean, they have a small section where they sell various Italian goods. We can't wait to come back and try their other items! Happy Nom Nom!

Amazing! Went with a couple close friends and this place has some incredible Italian food..it's a walk up to order but sit down place (indoor and outdoor seating) inside it's very nice but even better to enjoy the California weather. Food came out very quickly and they cleaned up your table after being served. Everyone really enjoyed their meals so much. The Pesto prosciutto was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Incredible bread and ingredients. Also love the Italian sparkling water. The gelato and Cannoli dips were fantastic too! Definitely a must try in Simi Valley

The half nobody wants to try...

Looking forward to trying a new sandwich place and the results were pretty mixed. My first issue is, you pretty much take what you are given without enough options. Honestly, I don't want somebody else's idea of a perfect sandwich, I want it made just like I prefer. That aside, I took half of mine home, scraped off the stracciatella, toasted pistachio, salsa rossa, arugula, added mayo and mustard, plus some lettuce and onion and it became wonderful. Their mortadella is some of the best I have ever tasted, but with what they put on that sandwich, you really can't tell. Their bread is wonderful too. My wife became very ill a few hours after our visit, and remains unwell two days later, she refuses to even look at her remaining sandwich half, and now I'm afraid of it as well. Oh, and their cannoli's are not great either. So unlike Clemenza, I'd leave the cannoli's and take that other thing. Staff was friendly, the place looked clean, but both of us have decided this is a one and done sort of visit. Too bad too, we really wanted to like this place.

I'm so glad Simi Valley finally has a spot like this. It's honestly one of the only Italian delis around here that really delivers. I ordered the Bambino, and one bite says it all. The sandwich is loaded with capocollo di Martina Franca, Genoa salami, and prosciutto cotto, layered with provolone, pepperoncini, tomatoes, red onions, and lettuce--and somehow everything comes together perfectly. The flavors are bold but balanced, the meat is tender and juicy, and every bite just hits. The bread has that perfect crunch and holds everything together without falling apart, which makes a big difference. And the size? Huge. Definitely worth it. What really stood out too was the service. The person who took my order was very nice and attentive, and you can tell they genuinely care about their customers. I saw people dining in, and right away they were being welcomed, seated, and offered drinks. It just feels like a place where you can relax and enjoy yourself. The inside adds to the experience--it actually feels like a true Italian deli. They've got shelves stocked with Italian sodas, snacks, sauces, pastas, and all kinds of condiments you can take home to make your own Italian dishes. Everything looks high quality, and it makes me want to come back just to try their products and cook something at home. I'd easily compare this place to Criccas in Woodland Hills, which says a lot. The best part is I don't feel the need to make that drive anymore--I'm more than happy staying local now. Picked it up to-go, went home, relaxed by the pool, and just enjoyed an amazing sandwich. This place made my weekend. If you want a great sandwich and a welcoming place to dine, this is it.

At last I got to try this new establishment with my friend and a fellow Yelper!!! I have been eyeing this place for awhile and been looking forward to trying a new non chain restaurant in town where you can get quality food. And this restaurant fit the bill! This restaurant offers an array of salads, sandwiches, pizzas and more to fill any tummy! Plus they offering catering where you can get larger portions of salads, trays of sandwiches, lasagna and more. They also offer a variety of Italian treats and drinks to enjoy with your meal. My friend and I decided on a couple of sandwiches. Sandwiches range from about 17 dollars to 22 dollars. They offer both meat sandwiches and vegetarian sandwiches. I settled on the chicken parmesan sandwich. I appreciated that it was not overly breaded with the perfect amount of cheese and sauce. The bread was the perfect touch. As it was a beautiful day we were happy that they offered outdoor patio seating. Some of the seating is directly in the sun, but they do offer some in the shade. There is a mixture of high boy and regular tables. Plus there is indoor seating as well. The staff was super friendly at the restaurant. Plus very patient with us as it was our first time here. Plus the gentleman who provided boxes, napkins, etc was super friendly and aim to please- thanks for great customer service. Lastly they do offer happy hour during the week with several dollars off glasses of wine.... Cheers!

My wife and I had lunch at Porcellino's this afternoon, and it was fantastic! The service was friendly and attentive, and our food came out incredibly fast. I had the Bambino sandwich, and it was excellent. The freshly made bread really sets it apart, and the cold cuts and cheeses were all top quality and delicious. My wife had the meatballs appetizer--three meatballs served on a plate--and they were outstanding as well. Everything we tried was fresh and full of flavor. We were both very impressed and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend Porcellino's if you're looking for authentic Italian sandwiches and great food!

This place is legit and authentic! I love that they import their flour from Italy and you can tell! I usually bloat anytime I eat supposed Italian food but not here!!! 1st time here and Happy Hour had many yummy options! Started with the Margherita Gluten Free pizza and it was delicious and cheesy! Also had the GF Panini,#12 and it was amazing' Service was cordial and attentive! Ambiance was relaxing and upbeat! Wine was also very good! My new favorite Happy Hour in town!

The paninis are definitely the star of the show here -- really solid and flavorful. The chop salad was also delicious and surprisingly fresh. If you go, I'd recommend sitting outside since it can get a bit warm indoors. Service is great and the staff do consistently check up on you even if you're outside. My only real wish is that they offered more cold drink options, especially iced coffee or a bigger soda selection. Overall though, great spot for a casual lunch.

I will make it easy peasy Customer Service 10/10 Margherita Pizza 10/10 Arancini 10/10 Buratta Caprese 7/10 I feel like it just needed maybe some balsamic vinaigrette or oil olive.. maybe a little cracked pepper. Overall this place was very delicious, great portions, the price maybe a little high for lunch but when I tell you it's worth it - it really is ! The ingredients are so fresh and you can taste it in every bite. Definitely worth the lunch splurge

Yum, a new delicious Italian Deli on the westside of Simi Valley. Tucked in the corner on Madera and Royal you can find this place. Straightforward you order at the front, get a number and find a seat. My friend and I both ordered sandwiches as that appears to be their specialty. I can see why. The bread is outstanding. Really makes the whole sandwich. And also where you take one bite, you immediately want to follow up with another. Before I knew it I had devoured my sandwich. Very tasty. I ordered a salad to go (Tuscan Trainer) and it was delicious. Will return here again for more food.

We had a good experience here. Our food came out perfect and quickly. That wasn't the case for a few other diners around us. Missing sandwiches, long waits. It seems that they are suffering from pains as a new restaurant. Looks like they need to work on their systems. They have table number flags that they give you when you order. But from what we witnessed that doesn't seem to be working that well. That being said- our experience was very good.

This is our first time here and it is absolutely fabulous! The prices are decent, the atmosphere is gorgeous, and the food was so good! The staff was really attentive and the owner was there and explained the dish we were wanting to purchase. We were so pleasantly surprised at the quality, the taste, and by the way... The bread is fabulous! They even have a very nice patio with patio heaters and beautiful furnishings. We highly recommend our new favorite restaurant in Simi Valley!

Tables were pretty close to each other but I don't think this was harmful to the experience at all just a thought. They had Christmas decorations still up. Food: We ordered the Calamari Fritti, the calamari was underseasoned but well fried and the shrimp that came with it was well seasoned but only came with 4 pieces. The pesto aioli that came with it was very tasty. Alfredo sauce in the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo was strong and its high fat content added a lot of body to it, very garlicky and American, but be warned it was very salty! The pasta was pretty overcooked. The Chicken Parmesan was well seasoned and quite a large portion, we chose to sub the mashed potatoes it comes with for a side of spaghetti (highly recommend for $4 extra). The spaghetti was a little undercooked but luckily the heat of the dish and rest of the food allowed it to get a little better as we ate. Service: We had called in and made a reservation ahead of time to make sure we could get a table. We got to the restaurant 10 minutes before our reservation and the host had somehow already crossed out my name, although that happened, they still had a table ready for us and we were seated within about a minute. The overall vibe that we got from our server was a little odd. She checked on us sporadically and it just felt that we were getting treated a little differently than others. With that being said, the bus boy was extremely professional and helpful. He brought out our food in a clean and calm manner. He was easier to get a hold of compared to our server and it felt that he was always willing and wanting to help.

The Food 5/5 As someone who follows a gluten-free diet, I had always avoided pasta restaurants, assuming options would be limited. I was thrilled to find an excellent gluten-free menu! I ordered the Salmon with Asparagus Pesto and a side salad. Both were absolutely delicious, the salad dressing is clearly homemade and very flavorful. My husband loved his Carbonara with Angel Hair, and our friends both enjoyed the Salmon Salad with asparagus and artichoke. We shared the Crème Brûlée to finish the night, and it was exceptional. The only downside was the service. Our waiter seemed a bit impatient from the start. Once our entrees were served, we didn't see him again until the very end of the meal. We all wanted a second glass of wine, but were never offered one, and our water glasses remained empty the entire time. It was a slow night, so the lack of attention was a bit surprising. The kitchen is doing everything right! The food is high-quality and safe for those with dietary restrictions. I will definitely be back for the salmon, and I'm hopeful that the service will be a bit more attentive on our next visit.

Absolutely terrible experience and some of the worst customer service I have ever encountered…read more We were planning my grandmother's 100th birthday celebration with approximately 50 guests. We met with Maria multiple times, visited the restaurant on three separate occasions, and were told we had a private patio room reserved for the event. Based on those assurances, our family moved forward with planning a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Then, only a month before the event, we were suddenly told they could no longer accommodate us because it was a "busy hour." How do you tell a family they have a private space reserved for a 100th birthday, allow them to spend months planning around it, and then pull the rug out from under them at the last minute? This wasn't a casual dinner reservation--it was a milestone celebration that can never be recreated. What makes this even more disappointing is that my grandmother immigrated from Italy at 13 years old and specifically wanted to celebrate her 100th birthday here. That opportunity has now been taken away because management apparently decided that maximizing revenue during a busy time was more important than honoring a commitment they had already made. The ownership and management should be embarrassed by how this was handled. If they were unable or unwilling to host the event, they should have been honest from the beginning instead of leading us on for months. Their lack of professionalism, communication, and basic respect for customers turned what should have been a joyful family celebration into a stressful scramble to find another venue. If you're considering this restaurant for an important event, be aware that even after multiple meetings and what you believe is a confirmed arrangement, they may decide to cancel when it becomes more convenient for them. Our family will never trust this establishment again.

I didn't like the antipasto toppings separated by topping. I like everything chopped and tossed together. I like to have a little bit of everything in one bite. Even after tossing the salad I still got a bunch of olives in one bite and red onions in another. The dressing was a little vinegar forward and caused me to cough. Pizza was okay. Nice thin crust. Not too doughy but also not a thin crispy crust. There was no cheese pull and maybe 1-2 pepperoni per slice. Our server was a decent server but not overly warm or friendly. She checked on us once or twice but very minimal. My salad plate and salad bowl was never picked up. She never asked if we wanted more water. The restaurant looks pretty dated. The booth we sat in was a teeter totter. Two girls sat on one side and as I slide in the bench went up. When my friend got up I wasn't prepared and I sank to the floor. My friend said the lights were the same ones she had in her trailer (50 years ago). We were there until 8:30 and didn't realize they closed at 8pm. A weird time to close but it is Simi Valley. I guess everything closes early like Mayberry. That's an old tv show reference to Andy Griffith Show for you young kids. It was nice they didn't kick us out but they did turn on all the lights and start wiping down tables so we got the hint.

It's a local gem tucked in between California Fish Grill and Cold Stone creamery.. Lulu was working the register and recommended the Hot Honey slice. It was a great big slice of Wonderful. It's thin crust, so a little crispy, but an excellent combination, paired with the Valkyrie Amber, which is a local brew. Price is reasonable, considering the multiple TV decor, and the quality of the food. Well recommended, will return.

5* Food 5* Service 4*…read moreAmbiance I can never have another pizza other than Tony Gemignani's Slice House! I fell in love at first bite. Although the ambiance is a basic order at the cashier and pick-up, the pizza here is anything but ordinary. Whether it is New York, Detroit, Sicilian, or grandma style dough, it is expertly fermented, resulting in a crust that strikes that perfect balance between crisp and tender. It has just the right amount of chew, and a subtle depth of flavor that speaks to pure craft and technique. The crust is the foundation, and it just gets better and builds from here. The sauce! I can drink it up as it has all the right notes of sweet, tangy and flavor. The toppings feel intentionally selected for both quality and compatibility. Nothing is excessive, nothing is lacking; every component is beautifully balanced. Whether it's the brightness of fresh herbs, the richness of meats, qualty cheese, or the perfectly seasoned sauce, everything works in unison. We ordered the Hot Honey, Wiseguy, and Rosa. Each bite is indulgent and satisfying. You can taste the influence of a skilled chef in every detail, from the texture and flavor development of the crust to the thoughtful building of toppings and finishing touches. This is the kind of pizza that redefines expectations. It goes beyond comfort food and enters the level of an indulgent culinary experience. We also had an order of the meatballs to start; it was moist, flavorful, and indulgent. The meatballs were drownng in the sauce, which served as a great way to savor the remaining crust. They serve wine and beer which further elevates the experience, and really, there is no excuse to have pizza anywhere else!

I've been to Italy multiple times and grew up around Italian baking, and this is hands down the best frittelle I've ever tasted. Light, golden, and filled with vanilla custard, then finished with a dusting of powdered sugar, it was truly unforgettable. This is a real Italian bakery, and once you step inside, the space completely opens up--high ceilings, a beautiful interior, and a hidden, speakeasy feel you'd never expect from the street. The young man with blonde hair who helped me was so kind, knowledgeable, and clearly proud of the bakery. It made the whole experience even better. The latte was perfectly done as well. Everything here feels high quality and thoughtfully made. I'll definitely be back. Thank you--support local.

Within ten seconds of walking in, I was greeted by Ama, who set the tone for the whole visit. She was warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout. She even let me sample different gelato flavors and suggested some great dishes to try on my next visit. That kind of thoughtfulness goes a long way. The affogato here is on another level. Most places serve it in a paper cup where the espresso and gelato just blend into a mushy mess. Not here. Carrara's presents it beautifully on a stone tray, with a proper espresso cup and a transparent glass so you can actually see the layers of gelato and espresso. And Ama personally poured the espresso tableside, which really topped off the whole experience. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

For many years I've been a big fan of Presto Pasta. I've been to at least five of their locations…read more They almost always have friendly staff who seems genuinely glad that you stopped in, and a helpful attitude about assisting you through the ordering process. Our Sweet Granddaughter (6) actually asked to go to Presto Pasta when we had her with us the other evening. As she's a picky eater, that's a major endorsement. She really likes going to Farmer Boys and Presto Pasta with us. It's so wonderful that she has this positive association with these restaurants and going out with her grandparents. The reason that I'm giving four stars this time, instead of five, is that I'm struggling to find a good side pasta sauce. I can't handle cows' milk dairy in sauces, which leaves mainly a marinara or meat sauce, or olive oil and garlic. I'd Love to have Fettucine Alfredo again, but sadly, that doesn't work for me anymore. Much as I love Spaghetti Bolognese, I'm not always in the mood for a red sauce. The last couple of times I've gone with the olive oil and garlic, they actually put too much garlic and it had an odd texture. It quickly became overwhelming. I'd like a lighter hand, which I've had in the past there, but something changed. SG ordered the child's spaghetti with meatball, but didn't care for the meatball. I tried it and agreed that it wasn't the best tasting meatball, which is so unusual for Presto Pasta. Not sure if the recipes have changed? And the third flavor comment is that their options for drinks which don't have caffeine or copious amounts of sugar are limited. Still and all, it's great to have the option of picking your own pasta type and sauce, plus delicious soup and salad, garlic bread, cookies or other desserts, decent prices, friendly service. We will be back, and I will adjust my side dish choice.
