Two technicians from Huckleberry Electric did a consultation visit about installing an electrical outlet in my washer dryer closet so that I could install a wet switch. There was an existing outlet and I thought I would need another one. They looked up the specifications for the wet switch that I was hoping to buy on line and then looked at the amperage and voltage on my existing outlet and the plug for the washer dryer unit and determined that I didn't need an additional outlet after all. I could use the outlet that I have for both my washer and the wet switch. Because I didn't need service, I was not charged. It was convenient to schedule the consultation and the appointment was in an short time window. The EV charger installation on a house with a backup generator required a load shedding module which was not communicated to the install team. They had to order the device and come back. When I look at the installation, they did a fantastic job. Very neat and tight installation from the breaker box over to the EV charger. They cared about how it appeared as well as getting the job complete. When they had to come back, they let me know when to expect them, showed up and got the job done. UPDATE: I wasn't in the apartment for several days. When I returned there was no power in the unit. Huckleberry Electric came back the next morning to diagnose again and determined the issue was not with my unit but either with the building or the energy company. I feel so bad to not remember the names of the wonderful gentlemen who came to fix the problem I was having, but I won't forget their explanations or promptness. Especially the explanations as I had plenty of questions. I was having issues with my GFCI outlet where it kept tripping whenever I turned on my window AC unit--a problem I did not have the previously--even when it was the only appliance using that outlet (or electrical circuit!) The original quote they gave me was to have a new dedicated circuit installed just for AC unit. Due to time constraints I did not get multiple quotes from different companies, however they provided me a quote that was within reason for the work being done. To my surprise, though, the day of the installation, they did another round of troubleshooting and were able to find a solution that did not require any extra work to be done and saved me around $650. Imagine passing over $650!!! I did not expect that level of integrity but deeply appreciated it. I have plans to renovate my kitchen and I will definitely keep Huckleberry in mind. 20/10; I've already recommended them to a friend. read more

Changed my review. They get one star for prompt response. Bathroom remodel where they placed all electric switches, fans, heat and light fixtures. They fail because many of the outlets did not work due to forgetting to hook up at main box. Bathroom fan does not work which they are refusing to come out to fix. On my testing it does not show electricity at that particular wall switch. Hiring a new electrician to fix their errors. IF you hire make sure everything works before they leave. I had mixed feelings with their service. Let me start with what I liked. The service quality definitely met, if not went beyond, my expectation: messages were always responded quickly, the folks showed up on time, they were very polite, and the job was done smoothly. The only but nontrivial downside is that the price went too far beyond the original estimate. The original estimate given was $300-450 and what I was charged in the end was $900+ for what I think was a pretty standard task (installing an outside security camera on a carport). To be fair, they gave me this $900+ quote before they started working and I agreed as I was too busy to find another folk. But still wonder what made this 2-3x time difference before the final estimate and the initial estimate especially when the task does not seem to involve anything unexpected. read more

May be Yelp, may be the wrong time of the year, but we were not able to set up an appointment, even though they have replied and showed interest in the project. I have left messages over Yelp, I have left messages over their phone, and I got no follow up response. They did promise to show up on a Friday during a two hour interval, turns out they didn't even book it on their schedule - nobody called, nobody showed up. Everything about this company initially was great and wonderful and I would have given them 5 stars. They were so responsive, very professional, technicians so helpful and skillful and I was very pleased with the service. What I wasn't please was with the price. My understanding was that it was $200 for the project , which was to change a faulty switch. What wasn't immediately clear was that that their rate was $200/hr with a minimum of $400 for a job even though this job took probably 15 minutes. I felt that this was not clear, althought they insisted they were "transparent". However, when you go see their site and their response, it mentioned "Project estimate of $200". What it should have said was "Project estimate of $200/hr with minimum of $400". So BEWARE...this company is wonderful, but the minimum is $400, even for a small job. For price, I would give them 1 star. read more
