Came here on a Saturday for brunch with some friends. There wasn't too long of a wait and parking can get a little tight, located within a plaza in Benicia. Ok brunch spot for all American/creole type of place. We started off with the Mardi Gras beignets, 3 that had fruit. We all ordered different things-- I got the crab Benedict (kind of burnt), shrimp po boy, chicken strips and fries, cup of jambalaya and stuffed French toast. The food came out pretty quickly, the restaurant is pretty spacious and the service is great and friendly. The food is ok as it is a wide variety but it's more of a franchise type of restaurant/diner. Over the weekends this place gets busy. They also serve alcoholic drinks too. read more

Not eating here again!!! Got seated at my table. Wait a while on a Sunday afternoon to place my order (haven't even been offered drinks). I looked around and noticed a guy across the room getting his drink and order first (he was the party before me). I finally ordered and received my food and drinks. I noticed I didn't receive utensils. I waited awhile again while my food was sitting there. I asked for no butter on top of my waffles and it came with butter on top (no biggie at all since mistakes happen). It was a bit hot so I finished my drink and waited for a refill. Waiter took my drink and told me she'll get me a refill. I waited and waited, my refill never arrived. Finally, I gave up without my refill and finished my food. My mouth was super dry. I asked for my bill and informed the waiter and the host that I would be giving a 20% tip out of kindness, but these are the things that needs to corrected. Never again. read more

Food was alright. Price a little higher for a diner style eatery, but the portions were generous, so I suppose it balanced out if you prefer more carbs than quality. Service was lacking a little only because water or drinks were not offered to me when they delivered food and obviously I didn't have a anything to wash down the waffle and chicken dish they placed in front of me. Granted I sat down after my friends were already seated. That's the difference between okay service vs great service...management should've have trained servers to notice the details at each table and they didn't. Most likely won't go back since it doesn't offer to die for food worth traveling for. I met up with friends who chose the spot and I drove 18 mins there. As a first timer, I'd pass. I will start off by saying that I have been to this Huckleberry's a few times and had better experiences in the past- hence the 3 stars, but this time we had a poor experience. I will be back at some point, but would probably avoid on the weekends in the future. What we ordered: #1 Strawberry Waffle #2 Chicken fried Steak combo with eggs over medium, potatoes, (subbed pancake for the biscuit cause they were out of biscuits) #3 Hucks Combo (half waffle, bacon, 2 eggs) and added potatoes The Good- The Strawberry Waffle was enjoyed The Chicken fried steak from the combo was delish The Bad- The hucks combo was missing to added potatoes The CFS combo was missing the pancake and the eggs had broken and leaked all over the plate. Asked for eggs to be replaced, and waitress seemed annoyed. Once she got the replacement eggs, she disappeared for a while. Waters were never refilled. Finally flagged someone else down to let them know we were still missing items. Be the time they arrived we it was probably 10 minutes after were done with the rest of the meal. The Ugly- When the pancakes arrived they were burnt (see pic) and kinda hard, not soft and fluffy. One of our forks had gunk on it when we pulled it out of the pack they put it in. I eventually asked for the manager so that i could let her know about our experience. She made things right by taking the potatoes and pancakes off the bill, and still replaced the pancakes. I went here last weekend for breakfast/brunch. We arrived at the right time and were seated without a wait. Less than 2 minutes later our server stopped to introduce herself and told us she'd be back soon. She didn't keep us waiting long and checked on us during our meal. Food and drinks: The blackberry mimosa was tasty and the price was right! My friend had the strawberry and loved it as well. As you can see from the picture, the servings are pretty healthy. I could only eat half of my plate. Everything was seasoned right and delicious. So although it looks like a basic chain restaurant, it's definitely worth a try for some good reasonably priced food and great customer service. read more

A friend and I went last month. Let's just say I cook better at home. Beignets were definitely reheated. My friend ordered a steak and it tasted as if cooked on a dirty grill/pan. Patrons beware of this place! I had brunch with my daughters. I ordered the Mississippi and the second bite I took, I felt a crunch. I thought it was egg shells and spit it out. Upon very inspection I found A shard of glass! How in the F would glass be in my food? They don't cook with glass utensils.... It was placed in my food. Of course i complained to the manager. In my entire life, I don't think I've ever gotten worse service than here today. I ordered food for pickup to be done at 1205. I arrive around noon, and food was handed at 1225. Timing isn't the issue, in the 25-30min I sat there, I got 1 check in at 1220. Another couple was waiting just to be seated for nearly 30min without aknowledgement. They must have no staff but you need to add a bell or some alert in the front but to have people waiting 20-30min without a single person even saying hello is ridiculous. To make things worse, my food is bland, they don't even season their eggs and I asked for salt and pepper packets and got none. -__- read more

SO disgusting and disappointing. I took my best friend for his 30th birthday breakfast and i am embarrassed I took him here. There was good reviews on eggs Benedict ... and when we ordered ours it was soggy and on burnt toast ? No English muffins ? Which is odd because the people across from us has English muffins on theirs... Him and I have been cooks and servers in the industry many years ... Came for breakfast and was told a 35 minute wait. We weren't seated until an hour. Placed our order at 11:10 and it's 12:15 now where our waitress has not checked in on us at all. I'm sure the large party of 11 who was before us impacted the wait but I still believe that they could have done better to serve and satisfy the hungry and annoyed customers. The business has to do better to inform customers of delays or decline customers if they lack resources. They could have offered complimentary items such as coffee, biscuits, juice. The food is better than average but not worth the wait. Recommend not waiting anything longer than 15 minutes especially if you have a pregnant person in the party. I've NEVER waited this long to be seated and served. Local resident and will not recommend unless people don't mind the wait. I wouldn't be surprised if this is my last time dining in. read more

It was wayyy more greasy than the first time I tried it. The sriracha aioli was way too overpowering... It took away from the sweet and savory-ness from the chicken, waffles, and maple syrup! :( - Classic Burger: It looked decent, but my dad said it was okay and a little too greasy as well. They aren't very generous with their fries, too. Sooo yeah, I don't think I'd recommended anyone getting a burger here. The atmosphere was a little dark for a breakfast restaurant, but the food was good but my daughter's order wasn't correct so I couldn't enjoy my meal fully because of it. When my daughter finally got her meal she she said it was good. Then my waitress went on break and her replacement Never came back to check on us for refills and extra syrup. We had to ask the hostess up front for a refill of our drink and boxes for our leftovers. If I had one gripe about the restaurant itself it would be the restroom. For the size of this restaurant, to have only a single restroom for male and one for female. The best thing we experienced was the food and the hostess was nice and friendly. read more

Went today about 11:30, got sat within 5 minutes (only 2 people waiting before us), Perin was our waiter who did an outstanding job...got coffee and food in a timely manner, country potatoes (I always wonder which country are we talking about, just like what continent is continental breakfast from) were cold but Perin had them replaced quickly, omelettes large and tasty. Whoever this place has prepare their to go orders can't seem to ever get things right. This is the 3rd time (and last time) in a row they sent us out our food order that was completely incorrect. It would almost appear that they do this on purpose because we didn't order anything with any special instructions. I ordered chicken fried steak, they sent me no gravy, toast with no butter or jam, and a spoonful of potatoes. Asked for bacon extra crispy and it was limp and chewy. They gave us 4 cups of syrup and we didn't order anything you would put syrup on. This was a door dash order, which does not make door dash responsible. The person preparing the food should be responsible. But when you have to wait for over an hour for your food and pay delivery charges and a drivers tip, you would hope they would take an extra step to make sure your food is ready. When we called to let them know, they said i could drive over there and pick up some gravy...if i wanted to pick up my food i would not have paid delivery charges and drivers tips. Then they said they would re-make our order but we would have to wait 2 hours. Which i found pretty insulting. You should put your incorrect orders to the top of your priorities to make sure your customers get their food in a timely manor. By the time i would get my food it would be passed lunch time. It was a really tough day yesterday and stopped off to eat her on the way home. We had driving from Elk Grove to SF to say goodbye to our mom. We were both straving and even a decent meal would have been excellent. I have not eaten here in 6 +years. The food was sub par. My brother ordered the chicken and waffles and maybe got 3 little chicken strips with hardly any breading and appeared pale. I got the country fried steak one had a strange spice taste and the rest of it had no taste. The fruit I got had strawberries that were sour. The coffee my goodness it was weak. You can easily miss this place unless you are familar with the area. Tucked away in a corner of the Southhampton center it brings to life the simpleness of comfort food and southern hospitality. We had a great host and waitress both who went by the name of Tracy. Since it was our first time at the restaurant we were surprised with a beautiful plate of beignets garnished w/huckleberry, peach, & strawberry sauces. If you go there you have to order the Fried green tomatoes...no doubt...and I dont usually eat this unless Ive made them myself. The crab cake Benedict here is the best I've ever had in a restaurant! Some of the workers here are more enthusiastic than others and sometimes the food may take a while and may lack consistency, if it weren't for those two things I would say it is the perfect place to get Cajun food. They have a large selection menu as well so if you have a bad experience you may have just came on a bad day because on a good day the food is excellent! read more

I tried to eat here the other day. Told the wait is 10-15 minutes which was fine. 25 minutes passed. During that time people stood for ages waiting to pay their bill. No one came to the front. I saw one person leave money on the counter and left because she was tired of waiting to be helped. THEN The host stared at us on his way out with a cup of soda as we watched him walk over to Starbucks. Again it was way past the time we were told. I came in for brunch with my dad yesterday, I had never even heard of this restaurant but I'm glad we went. I've been a server myself so I know hope yall will give this server a standing ovation for her excellent service. Rikki was hands down the best, very polite and friendly she made us feel like we were regulars. She definitely needs a raise.
