Seems to be easier to get in here these days. No wait and the service was fast and attentive. The chicken salad i ordered had lettuce, chicken tomatoes cucumbers, bacon, an egg, and came.with some garlic toast. Add avocado and.you have a chicken cobb. I didnt get much of the garlic taste in the garlic toast and the dressing was on the mild side. Other than. That, great salad....a bit high in price.
First time visiting this restaurant as a Natomas resident of nine years. The food did not have much flavor. However, it was true to the menu and cooked well. So the chef did his job well. We had to add our own seasoning. The server Dawn was really nice and hospitable. She took our orders correctly and brought out exactly what we order exactly how we ordered it! The ambiance was a good place to have a meeting. The space was great! The country music was loud and distracting.
This was my first time coming here. I got a recommendation from my girlfriend to come here. She has breakfast out more then I do. I think I've had breakfast out 3 times in the past 12 months. I'm just not a big breakfast eater out type of person. I'm just as happy having a bowl of cold cereal, oatmeal, or some ham and eggs made on the stove at home. So coming out to breakfast with my cousin was a stretch. We've been wanting to get together and this was the best time that worked for us so we went for it. Huckleberry's is just down the street for her and not a bad drive for me, it's close to the freeway. It's just past the new Costco on Arena. Parking- this is one of my pet peeves. The restaurant has to have parking if they want me to frequent it. Huckleberry's is part of a shopping center that has it's only private lot. It does get busy, but we got here early enough that there were plenty of spaces. We met at 10am on a Saturday. Capacity- This is a small restaurant, much smaller then your local Denny's even though it reminds me of a higher class of the Denny's type of establishments. They like Dennys have a huge array of breakfast items and they serve lunch at the same time. I didn't see an end time for breakfast so they may serve it all day. If you are inquiring about that I'd call and ask. Service- Service was great. We were seated quickly and given menus. Soon after our server came around and took our drink orders. I'm not one to typically order drinks, but I went out of my comfort zone and ordered a fancy drink. On the menu they had peppermint cappuccinos. I'm not a coffee drinker so I asked if they made it with hot chocolate and she said yes. It came out piled high with whipped cream, the good kind and flecks of peppermint candies. I was in heaven. It was so good, but if you don't like candy sticking to your teeth you should pass. It was a minor inconvenience, so I didn't mind too much. We were never rushed to order or rushed out of there. We probably took too long to exit as other people were waiting when we arrived. There was a line out the door a few minutes after ten after we were seated. People come in waves. When we left there were several empty tables and no one was waiting to be seated. We just lucked out and beat the crowd by a new minutes. Food- There were so many choices. The French toast looked so good. They had swirl French toast and banana fosters French toast. Both really caught my eye. I also liked the looks of the fried green tomatoes on the appetizer menu. They had fried catfish under the lunch/dinner selections that I would have tried if we were here for lunch/dinner. After studying the menu and drooling over many dishes I ordered the eggs Benedict. It was a tough choice. They offer 2 options. California and Crab Cakes. The waitress said she liked the California one with the fired green tomato underneath. She shad after a few bites the crab cakes one get to tasting a bit fishy. I'm anti fishy and a picky eater when it comes to seafood, so I opted for the California one with the beloved fried green tomatoes. It was so good. I'd order it again. My cousin had the chicken fried steak. The portion was so big that she took some of it home. She loved it. Especially the Huckleberry muffin. It came with a muffin or a biscuit. She said both were really good. To go- She took home the catfish dinner to her husband. We left around noon so it will make him a good lunch. Recommendation- I highly recommend this place for breakfast. If you aren't a breakfast person like me you should give it a try, it will change your mind on the one off day of having breakfast. I probably won't be back for breakfast any time soon as I said earlier I'm not a big breakfast person, but I can see myself coming here for lunch.
I arranged a lunch get-together with three other high school friends. I chose Huckleberry's because the location was about mid-way between those of us living in Davis and Citrus Heights. I had never been there before, but two of us had been and liked it. They have a large menu but finding entrees for those with dietary issues can be difficult. Many of the choices are fried and/or contain pork or shrimp. I asked the waiter if we could get separate checks and he said he'd be happy to do that. When we were done with our meal he brought over a single joint bill. As the others started pulling out their calculators, I called him back over and reminded him we'd like separate checks. He apologized and gladly reissued our bills. I ordered The Garden skillet, one of the few vegetarian entrees. The description said it was "Tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, spinach and bell pepper with Monterey Jack cheese and sliced avocado" scrambled with eggs and Country Reds. There sure were a lot of potatoes. I ate about a third (large serving) and only saw one mushroom and one piece of spinach in my fork. The bell pepper and onion was noticeable. While supposedly served on a hot skillet, the dish was a bit lukewarm. But it was filling. When I heat up the leftovers, I may add salsa to give it a bit more flavor. The restaurant interior plays into the New Orleans bayou theme with a big tree at the entrance and wall art. There was music playing, but we were talking so much that I couldn't tell what type. The restaurant is very casual. In lieu of napkins, each table has a paper towel roll on a holder. Knives and forks are in paper envelopes. There was a continual stream of customers. We never felt rushed to leave. We were there on a Thursday. The restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch. There were a lot of take-out pick-ups while we were there. Would I return, possibly if others want to.
After conducting some business with the state of California, my wife, sister-in-law, & I had brunch here. I had the flapjack, bacon & eggs with grits & a giant biscuit on the side. It was delicious. The grits were just the way my Aunt made them when I was a boy in Tennessee. The aforementioned biscuit was gigantic & super soft. The pancake & especially the bacon reminded me of growing up in Tennessee. (Did I mention that I was born in Humboldt Tennessee ). Sacramento is so far from West Tennessee, yet here is delicious food that harkens to that part of the country. The service was great & the best unsweetened tea this side of the Rockies. This place is awesome. Next time I will get some of the fried fish. 5-stars.
Came here for breakfast in between soccer games. The place itself isn't the most up to date in looks, but it was pretty busy, which is always a good sign. They told us it would be about a 30-minute wait, but we were seated in around 15-20 minutes. Our waitress was very friendly and gave us plenty of time to look over the menu she didn't rush us at all, even though they were super busy. I got the orange juice and the scrambled Benedict. It was okay, just a little on the bland side. The girls ordered sandwiches and really enjoyed them the flavors were great and the French fries were a hit. Overall, the excellent service made the experience a positive one.
We had a great experience on Father's Day. Our party of 7 was accommodated almost immediately. We were greeted, and seated by very kind and friendly employees. Our server, Dulce, provided us with exceptional and outstanding service. She was very attentive and patient. We had 3 kids in our party, and she was very kind and patient with them. The service alone, deserves the full 5 star rating. Dulce, and the other employees, made this visit a wonderful and pleasant experience. The food is great. I highly recommend, based on our visit.
We came here for breakfast this morning. It was definitely a very interesting place. Definitely has the whole Bayou theme going on including crickets as you enter the restaurant! Service was great. Our waiter was very friendly as was everybody who came to our table. Our glasses and cups were always full. Food was decent. I had the crab Benedict. The breakfast menu was probably a bit more expensive than similar types of places, but they had a good selection. Seat was comfortable, we could hear each other talk, even as the restaurant started getting busier. The crickets were a little bit annoying but I know that's the vibe they want. One thing that's worth checking out. Is the mural on the wall to the right when you first come in. It's really pretty amazing. Picture below! We will definitely be back here next time we are in Natomas.
First time at Huckleberry's - pretty classic vibe. Super seating and great service. I ordered the Stacked Chicken and Waffles - at first I was hesitant with the sauces being Sriracha aioli, Ranch, and syrup - but they worked great together. Delicious!!
0/5 stars. Hash-browns were RAW. Waitress didn't even give us refills or boxes. We asked for two peach teas to go and they couldn't even fill them up all the way. Horrible customer service. Let them know our food was raw they didn't even care. We come every sunday. Never coming here again. Management didn't even care to see our RAW food.
Huckleberry's is okay--not a place I love, but I don't hate it either. We went on a weekday for lunch, and even at 10:30, they were busy. Luckily, since there were only two of us, we were seated quickly. Service was efficient; our drink order was taken within five minutes. I tried the Huckleberry Sweet Tea, and while I love sweet tea, this one was way too sweet for me--borderline sugar overload, especially with the sugared rim. It was good, just overwhelmingly sweet, so I only drank about a quarter of it. For food, I got the chicken tenders and fries. Presentation-wise, it looked great and arrived hot, which I appreciated. However, the tenders weren't crispy, which was disappointing since I prefer a good crunch. Overall, Huckleberry's reminds me of Mel's Diner--decent but nothing exceptional for me.
I've been here a few times, usually I dine in but today I ordered togo. I was greeted shortly after walking in. The gentleman that helped me was kind. I already knew what I wanted, I asked for eggs, bayou potatoes and sourdough toast. He kindly pointed me to the combo that they had that featured each item. That was nice of him. It took about 10 min for my food to be done. I peaked into the bag and asked for ketchup, left him a cash tip and headed out. The downside. I asked for my eggs and potatoes to be cooked well. The eggs were, the potatoes were not. I prefer my potatoes cooked well and with a little crunch, soft potatoes just doesn't do it for me. I thought to myself, that's why you should've checked the food before you left. Yes, I should've and next time I will, however the order should've been made correctly.

Unlike other establishments that launch pumpkin-everything to signify the arrival of autumn in September, Huckleberry's didn't offer their Pumpkin Spice Pancakes Platter until October 16th, 2023. A little late to the party. 2 for dine-in around 1:00 PM on a Tuesday, no wait, got a booth. I maintain that Huckleberry's Pumpkin Spice Pancake Platter is way better than Black Bear (original sweet cream pancakes with pumpkin drizzle), IHOP (pumpkin spiced pancakes with whip), and Denny's (buttermilk pancakes made with pumpkin pie filling and glazed pecans topped with pecan pie sauce). Huckleberry's version has pumpkin pie spiced pancakes topped with fresh whipped cream, salted caramel, and candied pecans accompanied by two eggs, and your choice of bacon, sausage, or ham; hash browns or country red potatoes. The price has gone up over the years by a few dollars ($15.99 today) but still generous portions and worth it. The bacon was a very nice crisp, the pancakes fluffy almost muffin-like without being tough, even the shredded hashbrowns were buttery and crisp. Definitely had some happy little moments of pause with each bite. My breakfast-for-lunch companion went with the Cajun Benedict: two poached eggs over grilled Andouille sausage, sliced tomatoes, toasted sourdough, topped with green onions. Served with your choice of Country Reds or Fresh Fruit. If you were expecting English Muffins, you won't find them here. Water refills and check was brought promptly. Great service, clean dining area, and food came out fast. In the past I've had their omelettes, Huckleberry muffin, beignets, skillets and coffee. Can't comment on their catfish, gumbo, etc. Their Monte Cristo always catches my eye but I'm not curious enough to give it a try, as I'd rather go to Tower Cafe for the sure thing. This place was great! We went on a Saturday morning with a party of 13 and they were amazing! They offered the patio and got it ready quickly. Our server was amazing with the kids and got us all drinks quickly. Our food came out shortly afterwards and it was delicious! I got the pumpkin spice latte and yum!!! I also got the Cajun eggs Benedict and I ate every bite! I will definitely go back! read more

Quaint theme and menu items. We were seated promptly on a Sunday morning. Beignets were not that fluffy and needed more powder sugar but the accompanying sauces were delicious. The fried green tomatoes were delicious. The Mississippi scramble was decent but pricey for what it is. The huckleberry lemonade with vodka was tasty and reasonably priced. I'm not sure that we'd return but it was a good experience. read more

Upon arrival we were greeted by a host and seated within minutes. I loved that they gave us a window seat with a spacious booth. Our server was attentive and the food came out in a decent amount of time. I ordered the The Louisiana Skillet and that was ok. read more

This honestly was not the experience that I was expecting, after ordering the Cajun eggs Benedict, and the crabcake Benedict is when we realize that this was the worst hollandaise sauce we've ever had, on top of the crabcakes being frozen crabcakes they're not fresh, the undoing sausage tasted like it was not fresh at all, the beignets tasted more like croissants. They were very flaking. It was just a overall horrible experience. The manager didn't take accountability for our complaint ended up still charged us a bunch of money for our drinks and stuff, but I feel like we should've been compensated because at the end of the day, we didn't end up eating none of the food not even my youngest daughter liked any of her food. It was just a bad experience like I don't know what they're doing in that kitchen. Nothing was flavorful at all. It was just bad. I don't know how else to put it. Where is $40 I ever spent in my life. We will never return never give this place a second chance just because of the encounter we had during our first not even just how bad the food was, but the customer service the lack of accountability, the ambience was decent. It wasn't like the other huckleberries, but this one just did not set the tone. I really want a refund, but hey left with the worst taste in my mouth. I had to brush my teeth twice lol read more

We got there right as they opened. After a night in a hotel and long day of driving ahead of us, we were looking forward to a nice breakfast. Unfortunately, that's not what we got. Terrible service - we saw the waitress twice (when we ordered and when the check came). The coffee tasted like tar, and they only had Vanilla flavored creamer (no half and half). The majority of our food was bland at best - the bacon was the outlier. It was tasty. But overall, we'd never return. read more

This location is good with regard to location, staff and inviting dining area. The food is your average breakfast style food. I ordered their create your own 2 eggs with sausage and ham. It looks like they forgot my ham and hash brown looked more uncooked even when I asked for extra crispy. This was my 1st time so I will def give it another try later in and see if there are any improvements on quality of food. read more

The service was really good. We got seated pretty fast. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and potatoes. I honestly didn't really care for the biscuits and gravy they were really dry. The potatoes were mostly veggies. My friend did love the meal she ordered though. The coffees we ordered were really good. It was a cute restaurant and I would give it another try, but maybe try something else. read more

Time to stop for breakfast as hubby and I are traveling to Seattle, WA to help relocate our son for a new job. Thanks fellow yelpers for your review so we decided to give it a try. Our server, Devin, was so helpful. He greeted us with a big smile and welcome and questioned us... is this your first time? Since it is, he suggested to try southern food since Huckleberry is Southern food. He recommended the beignet (Ben-yay) which I ordered and hubby ordered the New Orlean skillet with huckleberry muffin. Delicious! I had their mocha iced tea, refreshing. The place is family friendly, and welcoming to anyone who walks in there... very clean too! Thank you to Devin for making our breakfast eatery a very good experience. Definitely coming back when we're in the Sacramento area. read more
This restaurant was so cute! We went for brunch on a Saturday morning and only waited about 15 minutes. Our server was so sweet and made sure to check on us multiple times and offered us recommendations. I got the banana foster French toast which came with eggs, sausage, and fried green tomatoes. It was delicious! The fried green tomatoes were so good and I loved the ranch dipping sauce as it wasn't spicy at all. The French toast wasn't too sweet and tasted yummy but I wish there were more bananas on it. Would definitely come back and try other items on the menu! read more

Stopped by Huckleberry's for breakfast and tried the Mississippi. Comes with ham, bacon, cheese, and sausage. It was surprisingly good. It's similar to Denny's or Black Bear Diner but better food with a Southern swampy twist. The service was good as well. Still diner food so don't get your hopes to high. Definitely a solid spot if you're looking for hearty comfort food with a bit of Southern feel. read more
The wait time to be seated on a Saturday is LOOOONG! The wait time for food to arrive on your table is equally as long. Hours have past and your food comes out cold. Also the portions are horrendously small. I finished my meal in less than five minutes. Maybe it was intended for children but at an adult price. Also they ran of fried tomatoes! We had our eyes set on stopping into a Huckleberry's and decided it would be great on such a cold morning. We were seated right away, and for a Monday was surprisenly busy. We were served our coffees quickly and our friendly server Michelle arrived to offer suggestions and took our orders right away. I ordered the Quiche Florentine and my boyfriend the Louisiana Omelete. The food came out very quickly and was delicious! The flavors of both dishes was spot on. Michelle provided great and accomodating service! My boyfriend wanted to try the huckleberry syrup so she brought a side with his huckleberry muffin. It was SO good! We've already decided when we have our cheat days we'll be back to try more of their menu items. I highly recommend. read more
I am not a fan of this chain since my first visit to a location in Fairfield ! I gave it another chance because my friend wanted to meet there for a little lunch ! I ordered the Monte Cristo Sandwich with bacon and a fried egg. It was very bland along side of overcooked fries.. even the blueberry compote they served it with did nothing to add to the taste. I give the sandwich a 4.5 out of 10 .. fries get 2 out 10 .. My dinning companion didn't enjoy her breakfast dish either . The best part of my meal was the Vanilla Carmel Macchiato.. which I enjoyed 8 out of 10 , Anyway, the service was good, friendly servers so that was nice 8.5 out of 10 though we weren't properly greeted when we initially walked in . The restaurant itself was clean and in good condition compared to Fairfield location so that was nice ! Would I patronize Huckleberries again , I don't think so. Always such good service. The last place I ate was at the one in elk Grove. This one was amazing service. Super nice staff my husband always loves when his drinks are refilled so that was great. The mimosas are really good. The food is excellent and so savory and yummy, the building is nice and the location is perfect sorry but dived into the food part. Got the chicken with waffles so great and the fried green tomatoes are a must try! read more

The location is great. It's in a shopping center that has other restaurants, convenience stores, a nail salon, and a gas station in the up and coming Costco business district. Parking is plentiful in this area. The wait time for a party his unbelievably long. We waited an hour and a half for a party of 6! Even couples had to wait more than 45 minutes to be seated. Perhaps they are short staffed but it felt like there was a Supreme shoe drop going on or something because there is always a large crowd waiting outside to be seated. The wait times have always deterred me from eating here but we decided to wait for a special occasion. The service is alright. Our sever only came a couple times to check in on us but it did feel like we were left alone for a while. The food came out very quickly. The flavor of our food was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed my steak sand which. The iced coffee and the black berry lemonade were certainly sweet. The pancakes also tasted homemade. The portions were LARGE you will definitely be full after finishing your plate. The prices are a slightly steep. I'd say for a breakfast for two you can expect to pay around $40. Bottom line/TLDR: long wait times but great food read more
For my birthday September 29th my beautiful amazing daughter took me out for breakfast to your amazing restaurant that was small but yet cozy we decided to sit outside which was very nice I like to say that Anna our server was amazing very professional very kind with the beautiful big smile that made us feel very welcomed! I most definitely want to give great big compliment to the chef or chefs my breakfast was excellent Huckleberry French toast delicious!! So if anyone is looking for a great little restaurant full of flavor flavor this is the place to come!! read more
I drove a bit out of the way, but I knew that our group all had different cravings. Between wanting breakfast, a cocktail, lunch, or brunch, this was our choice. It's got that southern country vibe that is expected when you think of the name. We had the Mississippi Skillet, the Big Cheese Burger, Stacked Chicken & Waffles, and few cocktails. The food is good and reasonably priced when it comes to eating out. The location is a bit out of the way but easy parking and depending on the time you arrive, you can get seated pretty quickly. Limited staff that day had the majority of the people in one area as the side/rea needed a buss person to clean up. Didn't let it bother us too much as the wait was only a few minutes. read more

Well, I was hoping to get some real southern comfort food, but was sadly disappointed with most of my order. I had the New Orleans omelet which was very under-seasoned, even with the country reds and Creole sauce. As a native Nee Orleanian, I didn't understand the flavors at all. The biscuit was very good though, nice and fluffy! I like the idea of the potatoes with the peppers and onions, however, salt and pepper lacked. I added hot sauce to most of my plate just get some heat and flavor. I will return to try the Mardi Gras Beignets but this meal was a flop. The service was pleasant and consistent. The ambiance was comfortable but the restaurant is a little dark for my taste. Overall what's missing is flavor. New Orleans and southern cuisine as a whole is robust with a lot of powerful herbs and spices which cannot be substituted with salt, pepper and hot sauce. read more
Awesome breakfast place! The breakfast here is always amazing. I like that they offer both sweet and savory breakfast, like sweet fruit waffles as well as scrambled eggs. Everything comes out fresh and warm. The potatoes are warm. The food always come out the way you expect it. The Huckleberry lemonade tastes really good. Somehow they got the berries to match the lemonade taste very well, especially with the sugar on the opening making the drink feel fancy. For the side, I always choose the muffin. It's the best side. Portions are huge. Staff are friendly and pays attention to what you need. Price is reasonable. There is almost always a wait at this place and I can see why! It is also open until the afternoon, perfect for families who wake up late and looking for breakfast, especially on Sundays. Overall, will definitely come back again. read more

I've been to huckleberry's multiple times at a few different locations. You'll always see different servers here; there's a lot of turnover and short staffing as is typical of many restaurants post-covid. It's usually pretty busy for Sunday Brunch. We tend to come back for the delicious peach iced tea and large portions. Pro's of today's visit: -Short wait of 10-15 minutes -Seating was comfortable -Server was nice Cons of today's visit: -They forgot to leave out the bell peppers and onions as specified by my date. -They forgot his side of hash browns -They forgot 1 out of 3 toppings that come with my omelette. The server was nice when I brought it to his attention. He talked to his manager and was able to comp us for my date's meal. read more
