Went to dinner here after reading reviews and overall enjoyed our experience but did not realize how small this place is. We had a group of 6 plus baby and ended up sitting in two tables so that we did not have to wait. Our only other option at the time was the bar since the few other tables that could have accommodated us were taken. Our table started with the cheese fondue which came with pretzel pieces, pieces or croutons and veggies. It was good to share with a group of our size. We also tried the fried raviolis which were also tasty but definitely only able to share with a smaller group than our party of 6 if you wanted a whole ravioli. Overall our food and service were good. If you have a larger group would definitely suggest takeout. read more

I LOVE this place! I went 6 times the first week I moved to Baltimore. Luckily I only live 2 blocks away. I've tried basically everything on the menu and it's all delicious! My favorites would be the cheese curds, the pizzas(any kind) and the Juicy Lucy burger. The staff is incredibly friendly, Dana is my absolute favorite! Their Saturday & Sunday brunch specials are AMAZING! $14 bottomless mimosas, bloody Mary's, BOH mosas and screwdrivers from 10am-3pm and you can mix it up between the drinks so you don't have to drink the same drink the entire time. This was my first time here and I already know I will definitely be back. So many positives about this place, super cute environment, great long bar with tons of seating (and a few outdoor tables), really friendly service (we sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly and good at her job). My fiancé and I had the hot beef sliders as an app and I had the pork and grits and he has the meat lovers pizza. All the food was delicious and came super quick! Really, and this would be me looking for a negative, the only thing I would have changed is that I wish my egg was a little less cooked and more over easy, but again this is me splitting hairs! Huck's doesn't have their full kitchen yet, but is still going strong with their food and beverage menu. It's mostly cold sammiches and dips. This is a great place to watch a football game - nice quality tv's, sound for local teams and plenty of space. It's definitely still a beer bar, with about 20 beers on tap. I should have started with beer, because the wine wasn't my favorite - still for $6 it's a decent choice and a large pour. They do have a large selection of crushes, that I like on a football sunday; I switched to the Palmer - sweet tea vodka with ginger infused simple and fresh lemon. As for food - most of the choices are simple - dips with chips and toasted bread and some deli inspired sandwiches. They sounded delicious. I had a bite of the American Deli with ham, turkey, and bacon, topped with Amber16 Cheddar and layered on a kaiser. It was tasty, a little salty, but I was craving salt having just left a Bikram class. My favorite thing of the day was the soft pretzel - a jumbo soft pretzel with as many dips as you like. We did the trio - whole grain mustard, a cinnamon icing, and beer fondue (WAY BETTER than the "beer cheese" you find at WOB...) Ordered a Ginger Mule, had virtually no ginger beer in it was extremely overpowering, was not refreshing or light at all... didn't even finish it. For dinner had a New England Bake, seafood was fresh (shrimp, clams, mussels) the potatoes and corn were good as was the bread however the broth was just slightly off, almost sour. Honestly everything at this place had a sour theme. For desert had the red white and blue shortcake, the berries were spiked. The strawberries were fine but blackberries, already a sour fruit was extremely sour that combined with huckleberry jam makes for a very tart dessert and I like tart... it just didn't go. My boyfriend had a grilled cheese and fries, he agreed was meh and seemed underwhelming in terms of cheese. Prices are reasonable enough however portions aren't overly generous. The Philly cheesesteak was a little different than what i am used to, probably maybe because of the pepsi marinade used, but it was good. The bad boy was stuffed to the brim, so yeah it is not a small sandwich, it come out hot too. The potato salad that came with it was great, the chicken sandwich a friend said was great as well. My boyfriend and I came here for Happy Hour this past Tuesday. We grabbed a seat at the bar and were immediately greeted by friendly bar staff. It was during an Oriole's game so we enjoyed $2 Natty Bohs!! We started with the St. Louis Toasted Ravioli. They were so delicious. Crispy, with gooey, melted cheese on the inside (not the kind you find in a mozzarella stick either!) We split the Veggie Pizza Pretzel Pie and the Minnesota Juicy Lucy since it was Burger Night. The craft beer fondue was so delicious! It partnered with the veggies in the most delicious way! The Frezno peppers on the pizza give it a good kick, but nothing too spicy! But ultimately, the pretzel dough crust is what makes this pizza so unique. It's thin and crispy crust is unlike anything I've ever tried. It's saltier than your regular thin crust pizza and much thinner but doesn't feel flimsy under all the toppings. This is genius! The Muenster stuffed burger was the main reason we decided to check out this spot. My bf loves Muenster and it's hard to find on burgers, let alone stuffed inside. This was delicious, I basically inhaled it!!! Overall, great experience and great food! I definitely plan to be back!! Bottom line up front, visited for the first time on a Sunday mid-afternoon, so by no means a super busy or crowded time, and the food took over 30 mins to come out, and was marginally warm, with the appetizer and one of two entrees brought out together(?), hence first impression was not good. Chili Cheese fries "appetizer" was comprised of overcooked yet soggy fries, a barely discernible amount of chili (maybe a heaping tablespoons worth), and some shredded cheese and red jalapeno pepper slices. Hucks "Rachel", a turkey Reuben, tasted alright, but again, barely warm food is not appetizing at all. Finally, their "country bowl", a combo of fried chicken, hash browns, biscuit and gravy, and a couple semi-fried eggs again had decent taste, however, was luke warm, egg was runny, and fried chicken and biscuit were extremely dry. Maybe we caught them at a bad time? but regardless, will not be rushing back anytime soon, if at all. read more

Looking back on my recent weekend in Baltimore, this might have been my favorite meal. They have a bottomless boozy brunch deal for mimosa, bloodies, or Bowties which I took full advantage of: 2 bloodies and 2 Bows. This bar used to be literally around the corner from my house and now that I live approx 6 blocks away I still try to drop in from time to time. I've been frequenting hucks since it has opened and so Ive been around for when it had no food, sandwiches, and now a full menu. The atmosphere is always great and I love the concept (even if they do have Canadian made fireball hiding under the bar). I also love that i was given a "vip card" which allows me to choose one of their weekly specials and instead make it an always special just for me. Although I also think that as a newer establishment (and now especially with the full menu) there are some kinks to work out - my boyfriend and I recently dined in for brunch and we got our meals before our drinks. Despite this the staff are always friendly and more importantly open about any issues they may be having. read more

We hosted a Sunday morning after-wedding brunch for friends and family this past weekend at Huck's. The space is cozy and very esthetically pleasing, and convenient as we got married in the Inner Harbor. There are two 4-seater tables, a handful of high-tops and one large group table, so things got tight but still enjoyable. But what truly stands out was the exceptional staff at this establishment. I coordinated with Emily to set up a 10 am reservation, expecting 20-25 guests max. We ended up with over 30, which I felt awful about and worried for how things would turn out, but the team never missed a beat. They were attentive, kind and truly made this an unforgettable weekend. I am so incredibly grateful for the experience we were able to have with friends and family thanks to Huck's. As for the food, it's phenomenal. Such a fun menu, everyone cleared their plates and kept commenting on how wonderful their meal was. Big hits were the Route 66 bowl, the western omelette and the fruity pebbles waffle. I had the blue collar breakfast and it had the best sausage links I have had in years. Our servers and Emily stayed so friendly and upbeat even with a full house, they are truly amazing at what they do. A few members of our party also enjoyed bottomless mimosas, bloody Mary's and a few other brunch-type alcohol drinks, which for $14 cannot be beat in B-more. All-in-all, I honestly cannot find enough good things to say about Huck's. Emily and her team, their chef, and their bar are incredible. What an excellent surprise this was after we went looking for a quick bite nearby. The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, the decor is cool, the staff are friendly, the vibe is communal but low-key...and the beer list is a collective guide to my favorite labels in America. The only real heartbreak was not staying for more than lunch. If I lived in Baltimore, I would do all I could to make this my regular spot. Loved it. Knowledgeable bartender, innovative menu ("American" is a catch-all phrase everywhere but here, where it actually features regional signature dishes from around the lower 48.) A good place to grab a bite to eat if you're looking for upscale bar food. It's tough to go wrong with anything on the menu - The beer fondue, the burger specials, or even the Mac and Cheese are all really, REALLY good and the portion sizes are generous. The prices, while reasonable for the food, aren't exactly cheap; so the budget-conscience may want to order with one eye on the prices. They started off as just a bar and the local craft beer selection is pretty good. The outside seating is nice when the weather cooperates and is quite a bit quieter than inside. During the evening hours or game days the inside can get a bit crazy and packed, but it's a bar, after all. We usually bring friends to Huck's when they're visiting Baltimore and we need something solid without being too pretentious. They've all enjoyed it so far! read more

We popped in on a Monday night to check out something new. We were interested in the appetizers and weren't disappointed. We sidled up to the bar and Jonathan immediately greeted us warmly. A quick review of the menu and we ordered water and a cider. Continuing on, we ordered Buffalo wings, old bay wings, St Louis fried ravioli and Chicago beef sliders. We ordered the wings extra crispy and they were perfect.. not overdone and dry! The ravioli was 4 large delicious cheese filled pasta pillows. The sliders were delicious, served with Giardinera, au jus and horseradish. The ambience was that of a small, clean, quiet, friendly neighborhood bar with plenty of specials. On my quest to find the greatest brunch of my existence, we stumbled upon this simple spot. Here we were treated to bottomless drinks for $15 which proved to be an excellent start to some day drinking and an Orioles game for a few out-of-towners. It was the dish that made this experience truly unforgettable, though. I imagine this is how the natives of Indonesia feel upon encountering a Sumatran orangutan, whose population has dropped nearly 80% in the past 75 years, leaving only 7,300 left in the wild; it's a moment you need to take in and appreciate. The country breakfast bowl left me speechless and wanting more. The combination of fried chicken, biscuit, egg, and bacon was perfection, topped off with some sort of syrup. I'm a juevos rancheros/eggs benedict brunch guy but I'm happy I took the leap of faith due to our waitress's suggestion (she actually created the dish).
