I've been frequenting the Canton Local for a few months, and it's definitely a top spot amongst my friends. The best deal is absolutely the Wednesday wing night - they are cheap and delicious. That said, it's getting pretty popular so if you want a table and want the wings quickly, you need to show up on the earlier side. The last time I came, they had to turn some people away. That said, the service is always good. They could maybe use a few more employees on busy days, but they try their best. Overall, I'd recommend this nice pub-style spot for some cheap, standard food & drink. read more

First off, it's air conditioned. There are places in Canton that are not, so that is a consideration these days. Roomie corner pub with plenty of room. Friendly bartender. Friendly cook. Friendly patrons. I got the fish and chips and it was awesome. I got it for takeout and as I was walking home, I was thinking, I wish I had some malt vinegar in the house. I didn't need it. This is a nice spot I've visited a couple of times. I'm always distracted AND walking when I go here, so I don't know where it is and would have to use GPS if I were to drive. That said, the interior is decent, though it feels very dark in there to me, which isn't a problem - in fact, it's typical of a Baltimore bar. Plus the bathrooms are nice and clean. I've not had food here before, but the beer selection is decent, and the staff is attentive and friendly. read more

I hosted my birthday party here and couldn't have asked for a better experience! The bar was packed on Wing Wednesday, but they reserved tables for my friends and me and made sure we were taken care of all night. Jocelyn was an amazing bartender, and the owners, Mike & Brice, jumped in whenever things got hectic -- you can really tell they care about their place and their customers. They even went above and beyond by putting my name on the sign out front, which was such a fun surprise! It's the little things like that that keep me coming back. The perfect neighborhood spot: fun, welcoming, and the kind of place where the owners aren't "too good" to show their own faces. Highly recommend! read more

It is a classic neighbourhood Irish Pub with a great selection of pub food and drink options, a pleasant atmosphere, many locals, and friendly, attentive staff. It's worth a visit if you're In Canton. We walked over and got caught in a downpour. The barkeep made us Hot Tea Toddies that warmed us up (I'm too cold-hearted for it to have warmed my soul). The Beer cheese is to die for; I would ask for that at a last meal). We split the pretzels with the beer cheese. I had the Fat Tire Cheese bomb with the house Beer Cheese (add the option fried onions and grilled peppers). The fries were perfect. My hubby had the Stout Mac and Cheese (with bacon and the house bread crumbs)- the best Mac and Cheese in Baltimore (and it doesn't even have crab) We are lucky we walk 1/2 a mile before and after visiting so we can indulge here. This place has AWESOME innovative cocktails. I go to a lot of speakeasy's and cocktail lounges in and out of the country and i really like the creativity they have. I will say they make their flavorings, syrups, etc., in house so they do run out of certain things so that said if you see a drink you'd like to try order it first. Their Desert Rose is delish and their Old Fashioned is on point. I prefer it with a rye bourbon though. Their prices are comparable to other places that serve drinks like this so don't get sticker shock. read more

We always enjoy the food, drinks and service at The Canton Local but tonight I found my new favorite dish! I mostly eat fish and love when places offer ahi tuna and this particular tuna dish was delicious and very healthy! We always get the pretzel bites here which were delicious as usual. This was my first visit to The Canton Local. When I arrived, I was greeted and asked to sign in (per Baltimore City COVID regulation). There weren't many tables inside and the bar stools were separated for social distancing. I didn't order any adult beverages, so let's get down to the nitty gritty. Once I found out the Reuben (my favorite sandwich) was on special, I HAD to try it! Normally priced at $13, it is available for $8 EVERY Thursday. Their version is served on Marble Rye; as it should be in my opinion. The marble rye is thick enough to not get overly messy with the toppings of this sandwich. The Reuben was tasty; not the best I've ever had but I'd get it again. The bread held up perfectly for the sandwich. My only issue was it was warm, but not as hot as it could have been. Maybe it sat a bit while waiting for my side? I did opt for the healthy upgrade with the roasted veggies instead of fries which was an additional $3 (stated on menu). Those veggies were sublime. It was cauliflower and green beans but they were perfectly roasted. Not too soft. Overall, my verdict was 4 stars. Food was very good; I'll have to come back for some Jameson next time...they had four varieties! I think The Canton Local proved to be a good neighborhood bar! The new owner is Greg Brice is a horrible human being , drinks too much on premises , butts into the personal lives of his patrons , yells at patrons publicly, and is incredibly rude and unprofessional. Really happy to have a new Irish Pub in the hood! And brave of them to open in a pandemic with dinning shut down! Must support! My husband and I ordered to-go obvi. And on a Friday night they said our order would be ready in 15min, so they are speedy! We got the fish and chips with fries... a metric ton of shoestring fries I should add. They were very good, a little chilly by the time we got home, I could only imagine how much better if hot from the fryer, but they were still delicious and we ate every last one. Fish was also good! Two big pieces and a delicious Chesapeake remoulade on the side. Also ordered the Salmon BLT with a side salad, which was an additional $3, but totally worth it! It was a delicious salad actually, and I say actually bc it's Iceberg lettuce which I find not usually desirable but with their fixens and the Jameson honey mustard dressing (bombs) it was so good! I would absolutely get again! The salmon BLT was also delicious on their marbled rye (I think?) bread. They should list their bread on the menu bc I wasn't expecting that, either way it was delicious! I need to go back and get more of the traditional items on their menu, like bangers and mash, Ruben, shepherds pie, and the not so traditional egg rolls! Last thing, when picking up they have beer, wine and cocktails to go! I got a 4pack of Guinness Blonde for $10 I think it was on special that night! Super convenient. First time was great, second time, was good, this third time was not so good. Called for takeout and they said 15-20 minutes. Got there about 20 minutes later (live just a couple blocks away), and the food wasn't ready - waited about another 20 minutes. They were apologetic - said it had been a crazy night. Got home - the smash burger, which I had gotten before was on rye bread instead of the brioche bun, the burger only had one patty (instead of two) and the french fries in both my entre and my wife's were miniscule, particularly compared to previous outings. I want them to do well but was pretty disappointed with the service today. Called to let them know but they seemed pretty busy so perhaps I'll follow up during the week. read more

When they say Irish it's a thin veil just meaning they put beer in every dish. Basically a natty light or Pabst blue ribbon beer. As for the taste it leaves a lot to be wished. I got the cheesesteak and the cheese was granular like sand and the bun was a generic grocery store sun roll. The max and cheese tasted the same way but came smelling more of beer than anything. Probably not for kids. The service was good but the a diner for 16 dollars really brought down the mood. I could see maybe charging 8/10 but 16 is too much for the taste. read more

Tried this new local spot last night for dinner (carry out). We got the bangers and mash and the fish & chips. Both meals were delicious! Portions were large and the food was fresh and well seasoned. I loved the onions & mustard on the bangers and the remulade dipping sauce that came with the the fish was awesome. Looking forward to trying more menu items soon! read more

Stopped in for the Local Coco ended up leaving with a McGregor Smashburger. Definitely made the right decision, the carmalized onions are a perfect compliment and the fries would perfect crisp! Can't wait to try more. read more

Ordered carry out last night-definitely a nice addition to Canton. We had the salmon meat balls, shepherds pie, & seafood pie (with cauliflower mash). All three were outstanding, the dill dipping sauce that accompanied the salmon was ridiculous. Order was ready quickly, pick up was easy, food was packaged neatly and in a way that retained the heat. All in all excellent experience. Look forward to trying other items! read more
