Friendly staff and amazing subs! My go to on Sundays is a steak and cheese but you really cannot go wrong with any item in the menu!

Whenever I go to Wolfeboro (after 20 years of living there and finally fleeing for the left coast) my visit is simply NOT complete without a visit to Huck's! Why? Nice Homey Atmosphere, Friendly Helpful Staff and pretty good subs and pizza. All the above available in take out or eat in at their large dining room. Have you ever threatened a life-long friend with physical or emotional harm if they came home without an extra sandwich from your favorite eatery? I live in Wolfeboro and love Huck's. I don't think I've had a sandwich there that I didn't like. The Pastrami Melt is delicious, and the steak and cheese is the best I've had since I moved out of Philadelphia 30 years ago. Desperation in the COVID era...got 2 subs from here for supper because it seemed like no place else in town was open. Meatball sub was not toasted, or even hot really, fiancé said the flavor was, "okay." Veggie sub was a sad amount of veggies on a roll with zero dressing. I'd call this place mediocre at best. Order the small. That is, unless you want to save half for a full second meal. I myself, would have a hard time saving the other half, due to deliciousness. The pastrami and steak are shaved so super thin they melt in your mouth. The hoagie rolls were so good and taste like they were just fresh baked (I did not ask for the origin and just enjoyed). I would not recommend the burger, and I did not try the pizza, but if you're looking for a cheese steak or a hot pastrami, look no further. I would absolutely drive 45 minutes for this food. Top notch even by northeastern standards. Game changing if you're from DC and did not know good sandwiches was a thing. Hits the spot all too well for a classic proper hoagie....and for something a little different the teriyaki nibs are devastatingly good. Only advice would be to add bungee cord or a pulley to help the door close automatically. They get comically frustrated when patrons don't immediately shut it but do their darnedest to complain politely! read more

Clean, quick, affordable. A real gem of a sandwich shop in a small quiet and obscure town in Lake Winnipesaukee. The lady the served me was sweet and has that presents that she love her job. I've ordered their meatball grinder (we call them grinders in CT) with provolone cheese. It is good, just wish it was a little hotter. But at least the sauce wasn't excessive like many chain sandwich shops which to me is always a plus in my book. read more

Super slow business. Waited for a chicken parm sub for 25+ minutes & it ended up just being literally chicken tenders with sauce in a sub roll. I was going to buy a bottled drink with my sub since that's the only option, but was informed that they were $3. Super awkward low ceilings made me nearly drop my food. After an 8 mile ride on the Cotton Valley Trail nearby with our kids we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Hucks! It was the perfect combination of good food and local people. We had sandwiches, chicken strips and pizza and everything was great! We were even treated to something off the menu - a chicken finger sandwich. While ordering I asked the girl behind the counter for her favorite thing. She mentioned that sandwich and asked what I'd like on it. I told her to just make it how she likes it! I wasn't disappointed. Fresh veggies, yummy chicken and delicious bread. Nothing exotic but a terrific end to our ride in Wolfeboro. read more

Being a New Yorker, we like to think places like NH know nothing about good food. This may be true for pizza ( sorry NH people!) but it was not true for a good sandwich. Especially the Italian hoagie. Been to this place a few times. Had the Italian Hoagie, Buffalo Chicken hoagie, and the turkey club. I gotta say it is just as good as many hoagie shops down where I live in the metro area. The Italian hoagie is my favorite. My boyfriends family just moved there from NY about three years ago and they feel this is the only place they can get to, to get a little taste of 'home'. The people are always friendly and the food is made quick. Great spot to go to grab a sandwich before you hit the beach! Prices are completely fair! I highly recommend this place! read more

Every time I come up to Wolfeboro, I get pizza at another place. This time I got the meat lovers pizza. It was so good, the dog didn't get much. The pie, sauce, toppings, and even the crust was delicious. I highly recommend Huck's Hoagie and I will definitely be back for more. read more

Found Huck's on YELP, steak and cheese is awesome, better yet my wife left her very expensive pocketbook on the chair and we didn't realize it till two days later, they were nice enough to drop it at the local Police station for us with everything in tact, Thank You to the owner!! Went yesterday for lunch with family of 6 and our pup. The food was fantastic but the service was even better. The super friendly woman (perhaps owner ) who waited on us was kind cheerful and accommodating to my weird menu requests. She even noticed we had a pup outside and gave us water for her. Then came out to meet her. Teddi is very shy bit she even loved her! Wish I got her name ! She even brought chairs out so we all could sit outside. Can't wait to go back! read more

I was in Wolfeboro on vacation this year and I'm from Philadelphia area, and jumped when I saw the sign to Huck's Hoagies. So we went in and I ordered a Ham & cheese Hoagie and my wife ordered a sandwich. Since I come from the Phila area, I know hoagies! Unfortunately I love them. I noticed on their menu board posted inside a few strange things. They mention the hoagies come standard with Cheddar cheese which is unheard of on a "real" hoagies, usually provolone, american cheese, swiss, but never cheddar. Which they also list. Also their menu board they list "Hot Hoagies", again doesn't exist. A hot hoagie is a "Grinder". So I got my ham & cheese hoagie, which I ordered, with lettuce, tomato, onions and hot peppers. Ham & Cheese hoagie, I ordered: - Didn't have the onions. - Lettuce was shredded, never on the real hoagie. - Roll was wrong, but can't blame them, since it's New Hampshire. (Phila rolls are made primarily from a company called Amorosa) - Hot peppers was actually a spicy/hot spread, again wrong. Usually banana hot peppers, jalapeno's or long hots. So my advice is change the name to Huck's Subs. read more
