Though it didn't seem to be needed tonight, we had a 6:15pm dinner reservation for our 3rd wedding anniversary. We were greeted immediately at the hostess stand. Courtney was our server; she was excellent & made sure we had what we needed, as well as willing to take a photo of us. I will say... the aioli they use for the tuna crudo was AWESOME - it also pairs great with the chicken marsala. I asked for a 'house margarita' which they were able to accommodate. I noticed that the bar area was slightly more busy. Mind you, it was a Wed. evening in late Sept. I cannot wait to go back to order a few apps, paired with nice red wine. My wife ordered from DoorDash for pickup last Friday (02/20), unaware that the restaurant was recently closed for renovations. DoorDash refuses to refund her, as they said they restaurant accepted the order and confirmed everything on their end. We've tried calling and emailing multiple times to rectify this issue, and there's been no response from Diomede's. Diomede's needs to TURN OFF online ordering ASAP, as everything was processed for our order according to DoorDash, so they will not refund us. They also didn't even believe my wife when she informed them the restaurant is closed, and that I had driven there trying to pickup the food that DoorDash said was 'ready for pickup,' according to the restaurant. Will be happy to delete this review if this gets rectified and resolved, but as of right now we're out $60 and nobody seems to want to fix this issue. read more

The place itself is nothing special to look at but the food is pretty satisfying. The portions are grand, definitely splittable. We prefer the bar, so we sat in the back and had a very delightful service experience with Samantha. We will be returning to try other dishes in the future. read more

My wife and I finally got around to trying this place, and were VERY impressed with the experience. From the food, to the service, to the value... we have nothing but good things to say. We were greeted and seated by a very pleasant hostess. A few minutes later our server, Joyce appeared with an app (I think it was called Bruschetta) and some heavenly warm bread with oil. The menu is fairly extensive, including three daily specials. My wife chose t he veal parm and I the veal marsalla (I'm not Italian. Pardon the spelling.) However, when they arrived there were two veal parms. When I questioned the server she apologized profusely and graciously offered to exchange my meal. I told her that wasn't necessary and that the parm was delicious. Throughout our meal Joyce was friendly and helpful (without being overbearing.) We found the prices to be a bit higher than other local places but the quality and portion sizes made it well worth it. All in all, a delightful experience. Will absolutely return! read more

Service and atmosphere are great. My main drawback is I asked for Chicken Parmesan and I was served Shrimp Parmesan. They did replace my meal at no cost. I'm just lucky I am not allergic to shellfish as I bite in the shrimp and chewed it before spitting it out. First time at Diomedes first they served this tiny portion appetizer on a Christini delicious but inadequate then asked for lemon in water came on deaf ears not impressed with service but then I ordered eggplant Parmesan. We knew this restaurant was under new ownership and we heard a lot of good feedback so we wanted to give it a try.We didn't expect much. outside and upon arrival to the parking lot we noticed nothing had been touch outside so we were hopeful inside renovations were done. Looks like the definitely clean up and changed "some" things. The music was super loud for fine dining and had to ask multiple times to turn it down so my husband and I could converse privately. The music didn't fit the vibe, so that should be rethought. There is a lot of potential here and I hope that they are working on it. The portions are very large, I hope that they aren't doing that to get more people to come in cause that's just gonna cause them to be packing up meals to take home for customers to have for second meals. Or cause people to share the dish rather than buy 2 dinners. This can kill a restaurants overhead'. It's still early, and it seems like there's lots of room for improvement. We will revisit this in a couple of months and see if things have improved. There's lots of shrimp and chicken options, but not really a big variety of anything else. Formerly Dominick's Restaurant, Diomede's Restaurant opened on NH 28 in Chichester across the road from the Flannel Tavern (old Parker's), just south of the Pittsfield TL. Similar to before, Diomede's serves up Italian cuisine in a family casual atmosphere, current open for dinner only 5 nights a week. They serve up a variety of pasta dishes, dinner entrees (chicken, seafood, steak, pork - served with vegetable & smashed red potato), salads, appetizers, and desserts. They also have a children's menu and a drink list of beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks. The prices are moderate here. While driving through the area, I noticed that the former Dominick's was now a new Italian restaurant named Diomede's. I decided to complete an errand first and return to Diomede's for dinner. The parking lot was just about full on a stormy Friday night. I walked in around 7pm and the place was very busy and the hostess was busy answering phone calls. The place has dining rooms to the left (tile floor) and right (hardwood floor) and lots of old photos hanging on the walls. I put my name in and the hostess found a table for me in 3 minutes. All tables had white linen table cloths, linen napkin wrapped utensils, and candlelight. I was already given a paper menu as I entered the restaurant. The server arrived about 5 minutes after I was seated with an ice water glass. After placing my dinner order, they brought out complementary Bruschetta, which was diced tomato mix on top of ciabatta toast (crostini). For a starter, the Stuffed Quahogs ($10 plus tax) was comprised of 3 stuffed clams which had a mix of chunky clams, crabmeat seafood stuffing, which had a salty taste and a good composition of seafood and minimal bread mix, parsley, served with a spicy aioli dressing and mixed greens & lemon wedge. As I was waiting for my dinner entrée, I could see other tables being served good-sized portions of pasta and other dishes, which indicated to myself that I would probably need a box later on. For dinner, the Eggplant Parmigiana ($18 plus tax) was a generous portion of 3 big round breaded eggplant slices smothered with thick layers of melted mozzarella cheese over fettucine pasta and a slightly sweet marinara sauce. This eggplant parmigiana dish was very tasty, but I eventually asked for a to go box. I passed on the dessert offer since I could not eat another bite. The check was presented, which was $30.38 with tax and before tip. The check had a QR code, which I scanned and paid online through ToastTab. Overall, the food I had was very good. The service was adequate on a busy night. My server seemed tired and worn out from being busy and did not seem too happy at the end. I would definitely return again for another dinner, but I may skip the appetizer so I can save room for dessert next time. read more

Diomede's prepares delicious, authentic Italian food (as confirmed by my 89 year old Italian mother). The sauce was perfect and the pasta delish. They have an excellent wine and drink selection. The owners Paul and Kim Diomede are true gems. We enjoyed talking to them about their life in NJ and how they ended up in NH. We also loved Paul's stories about his appearances on TV in The Soprano's, Law and Order, and in works by Spike Lee. The chef (who served us herself) and the servers were personable, patient, and extremely friendly. Diomede's is totally worth the trip from wherever you're coming from! Walked in as hangry strangers left stuffed full feeling like apart of the family. We stumbled in by chance a large party an hour before closing. They welcomed us in with open arms and gave us an amazing experience, delicious food and generous portions. The food industry is so hard now a days and I haven't been blown away with a restaurant like I was tonight in many years. We had dietary restrictions (gluten free) and they were super accommodating. Espresso martini was delicious. Chicken Parmesan was absolutely spectacular. And the dessert.... I didn't have room but made enough for a few bites and I'm so glad I did. Price point was insanely good for the portions. Easily two large meals. Our server was the sweetest and went above and beyond. We even met the heart behind the food. Here's a pleasant surprise in little Chichester -- don't judge this book by its cover, because the nondescript exterior belies terrific Italian fare (and care!) straight from NJ and NY by owner-chef Paul (who likes to come to the table, and is just a delight). We had scampis and parmigianas and picattas all around -- portions are huge, everyone loved the flavor. This is a wonderful family affair. Diomedes is a great place to stop while driving up to the lakes region from Boston, and is worth the drive over to if you're local. I had no clue this place was open, the building was no branding in it there is a large sign out front so it's easy to finds but currently are open limited hours. Had I know I would have come sooner. Julian (the owner) recommended side dishes specifically the sausage with peppers and meatballs, both of them were phenomenal. The portions are above average and very affordable, however don't let the affordability fool you, the quality and taste of the dishes are out of this world! First visit here and we cannot say enough!!! Huge portions and top notch service. My plate of eggplant parm was enough to feed three people! Neighbors had seafood and both plates were excellent. My husband is a chicken marsala fan and he brought some home. That never usually happens. Generous salads as well. You cannot leave hungry. We went to Diomede's restaurant in Chichester for dinner last night! Our second time since they have opened their doors in the past few months. Great food, great service, huge portions and a decent price! Me being partial to the previous restaurant Dominick's that was there for many years and being friends with the family, also being the listing sales agent that sold it. Knew it was going to be pretty tough to replace. Although we do miss the Ambrose family and their smiles. I have to say Paul and family have done a tremendous job redoing the building to suite their style and have hit it out of the park with their culinary cuisine! Definitely a must try restaurant! I love that a quality Italian restaurant has set up shop in Chichester! Service is always friendly! But the food quality and time we have waited for food varies greatly. I have been there when it was crowded and our food was out in 20 minutes and I've been there when it was not crowded and it took almost an hour for our food to come out. I tend to order the same two dishes and sometimes everything is cooked perfectly and other times it misses the mark by quite a bit. I would like to see more consistent food wait times as well as consistent food quality. Also, the exterior needs work. The black sign they put up is gorgeous but the plastic changeable letters look cheap and take away from the upscale signage. The front is in dire need of flowers and a professional paint job on the trim and doors. Inside it could use softer lights as well as professional paint. I'd really like to see this place succeed. read more

Unbelievable find! New to the area and Have driven by this place for a while. Was a great experience from start to finish. Hostess was extremely nice and welcoming. Opted to sit in the back bar area, which was very clean and had a nice feel to it. The bartender, Sam, waited on us and continued the overall theme of open and friendly. Answered all our questions with a smile and was attentive throughout the evening. The food was outstanding. Had the meatball app and they were a good indication for the meal to come as they were juicy without relying on breadcrumbs to provide substance. The main courses of eggplant and veal parm were some of the best we've had. My wife got hers prepared gluten free and you couldn't tell the difference. On top of it the portions were massive, which is appreciated as I can now enjoy them a second time. Highly recommend this restaurant and will now be making it a regular stop.
