Hudson grille has an amazing brunch. $16 for unlimited mimosas during your brunch. I recommend asking for Adrian as a server. He was so attentive and noticed if we needed something or if our drinks were empty. He also noticed someone saying it was my birthday and brought me out a cake with ice cream. Recently began coming to HG for high school, and multiple friend reunions, etc. Place is massive so there has never been a problem with seating. Observed a private party room off main portion of restaurant/bar. My party and I ordered all of the appetizers to share and were not disappointed. Only thing was I wish I had arrived earlier as appetizers and drinks are at reduced happy hour prices. Waiter was quick, efficient and pleasant. Ambiance best described as over tanned aging attendees of former meat market type bars (you know the type-LOL) mixed with freshly legal young ones that can't hold their liquor. I happened to stay a little too late (10:30pm) and I felt like I was transported back to Daytona Beach Spring Break 1988, Music too loud and bathroom closed down temporarily due to some hazardous upchuck. Bathrooms are precariously placed downstairs which I'm sure has been host to a few patrons doing a header/becoming airborne. I will definitely return when weather is warmer as there is a tent and outdoor patio type area in the back. Parking is a P-I-A (meters 24hrs) to say the least and watch out for police if you've had 1 to many. There were plenty of cabs out front if needed. Overall great experience, good food, nice staff and certainly a lively evening. read more

I must say i was wonderfully surprised by this place on Saturday night. It was really busy yet organized, had a great vibe and although a lot of people were in the service was exceptional! Although we were seated in a stunning side room, which was quieter and exactly what I wanted the hostess attitude to her work was to be desired! When we were seated our waitress, Stefanie greeted us immediately and before we knew it we had drinks on the table!! Quick, efficient and always with a smile we were never left abandoned. The food was delicious and we took the suggestions of the waitress which was the Butternut Squash Ravioli and the Filet Mignon, both dishes were immense! The only complaint we had was the amount of time it took for the desserts to arrive, although the fact that it was explained to us that it may take a few moments left us comfortable in knowing that we we not forgot about. The cocktails we were made were amazing, the bartenders know what there doing. This was a dinner to discuss business with my clients and I was very happy with the service and the decor of the place made it a great venue. We will most certainly be back. read more

Their food there was delicious! I just recently moved to White Plains and was looking for a good spot to go and I'm glad I chose this place. The decor is upscale and I like that they have the outdoor seating option in both the front and in the back. A couple of Sunday's ago I took my family out for brunch. We are not brunch people so I took the recommendation of a friend. We arrived at Hudson Grille around 12:30 and it was very busy so I was worried about a wait time. The hostess sat us within 10 minutes which was great. Our waiter came to our table within minutes, introduced himself as "Adrian" and suggested some items for brunch. We took his recommendation and we were pleasantly surprised how good the meals were. Adrian checked on us numerous times throughout our meal and not one time did we have to wait for refills on water or drinks. After the meal I asked for a beer and Adrian recommended an IPA and he new quite a bit about the beer which was very nice to hear. Great food and we received world class service from Adrian!!! I would give an extra star if I was able because Adrian took the time to recommend a great IPA and actually knew something about the beer! Looking forward to coming back again! read more

Went to Hudson Grille for Mother's Day and it was awful. Ordered pancakes with fresh fruit.for $14. It came with 2 pancakes that were slightly thicker than a quarter and pretty small. The fruit was mostly melon. No strawberries or blueberries which is what you'd imagine. A real ripoff. But our waiter Adrian was terrific and couldn't be more empathetic. read more

I'm fully aware of the "dress code", how ever we are mid summer w/ an emphasis on 4th of July & the bars are in a full disapproval of tank tops. It's a bit ridiculous considering we're mid July & they'll let girls in wearing crop tops &/ or no shirts. It's a bit sexist & disgusting. I believe if we're gonna attempt to be in a society that's equal we need to begin treating men & woman equal regardless of surroundings. I just let my friend walk in before me & my girl (friend) was wearing spaghetti straps, they let her in & did not let me in because I was wearing a patriotic tank (not a wife beater) but a printed shirt w/ no sleeves. It's honestly disgusting & how sexist this world has become. It's actually quite sad to think that the world still views gender inequality even after this new founded equality for all mankind. This place could be four stars except the food falls totally flat. Ive been here at night for drinks only and its ok, nice strong drinks and nice outdoor area although sometimes it can be too crowded. But coming for dinner was a letdown. Service was adequate, the outdoor seating was nice but the food was tasteless. My steak sandwich had two tiny slivers of steak - so the majority of bites had no steak whatsoever. My side salad had a light coating of oil and no vinegar no cheese no veggies no crutons - no flavor, its was the most pathetic salad i have ever been served at a restaurant. This same salad made up of the majority of my steak sandwich as well. You can tell they are skimping on everything here. Appetizers were also bland and our side of spinach had nothing - no garlic no nothing just soggy spinach. Two managers came to check that everything was to our satisfaction so they seem to care about the service but they should really be focusing on the food. I would go back for drinks only, but for food there are too many excellent choices right next door, for example the filet steak sandwich across the street at lazy boy is to die for. Saturday night dinner for 9. Not our first choice, first choice had a 1hr wait and we ended up here. I called a few minutes before to let them know a party of 9 was coming in in fifteen minutes. We got there a bit early so we headed to the bar. We order a few drinks, bartender checked our ids. Some random guy, who did not even identify himself rudely asked for our ids. I told him the bartender had checked them already, but he insisted. I have a NYS license and he said is this yours?, he checked my friend's passport and he said it was expired which it wasn't. Mind you, he was not a bartender or a bouncer, some 50 year old irish man who could not read english correctly. Did i forget to mention how loud he was and out of place he made us feel? He left and the rest of the night went OKAY. The food was disappointing, too greasy and not what i expected. My two star rating is beyond generous, one for the place decor and one for the beer! Def NOT going back. I have worked for customer service for more than 7 years, and as business manager this type of behavior is unacceptable. read more

Came here with a friend I was visiting for dinner last night, it was my first time here but she had been here several times. I had the shrimp chopped salad which was really good, there were so many different flavors in it and it was a good size. My friend has the honey & thyme roasted pear salad which she always orders because she loves it so much. The dessert was also excellent. I had the banoffee pie and the bananas in it were really fresh. Friend had the brown sugar & almond profiteroles which were cream puffs filled with ice cream, I tried it and liked it. We got wine, too, but I wouldn't in the future; the pours were quite big but the bottles were really cheap. I liked my sauvignon blanc so when I looked it up to possibly purchase a bottle, it was listed at $4.99; at something like $8 or $9 a glass, the mark up on that is a bit high for me. The owner was really friendly, he asked us several times if we were enjoying our food. It is always nice to feel like you're being attended to. Bottom line, if I lived in the area I'd probably make it a more regular spot. read more

The service was terrible. You name it - drink orders, appetizers, main courses - the server took forever to take our orders. And at one point, walked off while one of my party was trying to add something to his order. One meal came out completely wrong, so that person had to wait for her meal to be prepared while we ate. The manager did come over and apologize and let the person know that he would comp her glass of wine for making her wait for her order. Meanwhile, 2 of us ordered steaks -medium and medium rare. They arrived well-done - well, incinerated would be a more apt descriptor, but we had waited so long that by this point, we just ate them. We were presented with the check - which we had to send back because the glass of wine had not been comped as promised. To top it off, it took so long for us to eat, that we ended up getting a $25 parking ticket. Looks like a great place - grab a drink there, but avoid it for eating. read more

We had a reservation for outside but was in the tent portion--not what we wanted but ok..Our service was terrible. the food took over 45-50 min to arrive. No bread till the end? Great food - the plates came out quickly and the taste and presentation was spectacular. I would give the back of the house 5 stars. The front of the house, however, was awful. The hostesses were impersonal and the wait staff made us feel rushed and like we were inconveniencing them. I would love to pin-point exactly who but I was never given his name (along with never getting a "Hello, welcome to Hudson Grille"). As we were seated, we waited for 15 minutes to get a waiter and another 10 minutes for water (we had to ask for it). I don't think I'm asking too much of the front of the house as the restaurant wasn't very busy and these things are basic duties of the staff. People who work at fast food restaurants do better than that. I would go back for the great food. I will say something to management if I'm ever treated like that again, however. read more

Where do I start? The venue is great, that's my 1-star. The waiter was not very polite. The food was terrible: (1) the beans in my best friend's dish seemed old and as if they had just been pan-fried to bring them back to life (sorry buddy, I didn't tell you then because I didn't want to ruin it for you). The sausages/chorizo, were overcooked - almost charcoaled, and dry. (2) His girlfriend's specific, clear, and concise instructions to please have the steak cooked with no spices whatsoever, due to her food allergies apparently were too complicated for the restaurant's supply chain, so after getting her steak with clear residue of spices, she had to do with just a fruit salad. (3) My chicken Cesar salad was just a plate of saggy lettuce smothered in some heavy mayonnaise dressing I just could not convince myself to eat. Don't get me started on the chicken - it was rubbery and dry like overcooked frozen chicken breast or like precooked chicken that had been sitting in the refrigerator for days and then slapped on the grilled just when I ordered it. (4) My girlfriend's brunch quesadilla was actually the only thing tasty and decent so I had some of it. But when we got home, we actually felt a bit sick to our stomachs. I went to Hudson Grille for the first time on Saturday to celebrate my best friend's birthday. I know White Plains very well and I had been waiting for this place to open so I could try it out. We were a group of 5 women and were excited because we had read such great reviews on yelp about how the food was amazing and the service was great. Well, I am sorry to say I was not impressed. The food was nothing that stood out to me from the places surrounding it. All of us had chosen different dishes and non of us were happy with our choices. I admit tho that we did like the mac and cheese and the calamari appetizers. The drinks were ok nothing special. The decor I loved it was classy and chic def a step up from it's sister bar next door, Porter House. I don't know if the night we went was a bad night, but the service was so slow. We waited a long time for our appetizers and even a longer time for our entree's, I guess they wanted us to digest our appetizers so we could have room for the main course. It was a Saturday night but they were not crowded so the slowness of the service was uncalled for. The waitress although sweet barely came over to our table to check on us and when we tried to get her attention she was slow to respond. Over all I was not satisfied with our experience. It's my local hang out area so I am disappointed. It's definitely not a place I would recommend to someone looking for great food and drinks. I have definitely had better. Compared to everyone's good reviews, maybe we went on a very off day. I hope that's the case. read more

The quality of food and service here has really gone down. We have been back a few time in the last two years and each time was a disappointing experience compared to when they first opened. Most recently we had a server who seemed to not care about taking care of us, he couldn't even stand near the table when taking our order and then the our orders were wrong when they came out. I ordered a simple salad and the greens were overdressed and the rest of the ingredients were sloppily prepared. Basically the same for the other dishes we ordered, which were not technically difficult to prepare. I hope both the food and service get better here because they have a nice space and nice bar! read more

So, my wife and I decide to have brunch on the Mamaroneck Avenue strip on a beautiful Sunday early afternoon. We drop into Lilly's, since they've had some decent reviews on Yelp and wandered to the outside dining. We take our seats on the left side of the outdoor dining area. Little did we know that the seating was no longer Lilly's, but Hudson Grille - until after we ordered some wine. We figured that they were operated by the same management and decided to play it out and see how it goes. The wine came relatively quick. It was 1/2 price bottles for Sunday brunch - which is pretty awesome. As people who enjoy a good bottle of wine now and then, we decided to take advantage of it. The wine was not as chilled as we would have expected -especially a Riesling which should be about 45-50 °F. This was definitely a little warmer. After a few sips of wine, we put in our order. And then --we waited. And waited. Now, if it was really busy, I could understand it. If we ordered things that took time, I could understand it. 25 minutes go by and people who were seated after us started to receive their orders. We inquired about our meals to several runners and busboys. Eventually our waiter came out, didn't apologize and said our food would be out soon. We got our food. I ordered Steak and Eggs and my wife ordered Croque Madame. My steak was cooked perfectly as was the eggs. My wife's order was also cooked perfectly. We had no real complaints about the food, but the service was just horrible. A manager, who didn't introduce himself, came around after the "20 bite mark", poured water to our empty glasses of water and inquired about the meal. We nicely mentioned that it was good, but the 25-minute wait was a bit much. He never apologized! All he said under his breath was "That's not good" and walked away. After we ate, we stared at our empty plates for another 15 minutes before the busboy cleaned up our table. And then waited some more. Asked a few other waiters, runners, and busboys to have our waiter get the check, as we were pretty much done and wanted to leave. Eventually, our waiter came by with the check and then we paid. Not sure if we will be going back there. Also, Lilly's I think is owned by the same owner(s), so we're not sure if we'll be going to either establishments any time soon. read more

RACIST. Yesterday I went to the bar with a few friends ( I am hispanic and they were both hispanic and Caucasian ) we showed our ID and easily got in. Two of my friends were on their way to the bar ( who were african african american ) when they arrived they tried showing the bouncer their ID and they were denied. When I was walking in the bar i saw the bouncer deny other african american men. I went to the bouncer and asked him why my friends couldn't come in and he told me because they weren't up to standards with the "dress code". I didn't understand that because they were both wearing button up shirts and i just saw the bouncer let in someone with a hoodie and he even let in one of my friends who had a t-shirt on. I would give it more starts ,but there was on negative thing that happened. The bartenders ask for tips before the drink is consumed. If I do not like the drink I am not giving a tip. I will say that this is the most popping place in WP hands down. There is always dancing and socializing to be done. I always see people I know here which I like as well. Its also not the people I do not want to see. I feel that If they had a dance floor this place would be amazing. We tried this place out during Hudson Valley Restaurant week, and both did the 3 course menu. It was great! For starters, I had the spring carrot soup with coconut, ginger and coriander cream. It was beautiful! The flavors complimented each other perfectly. My husband had the char grilled lamb salad appetizer and it was great as well. The lemony dressing was tangy and delicious. I had the horseradish crusted filet of beef for my main course and it was cooked to perfection (although I realized after it came out that the server didn't ask me how I wanted it cooked, which was strange). My husband got the pork tenderloin which was good, but it was too well done on the outside, though the middle was tender and moist. For dessert, I had the banofee pie which was fantastic! It was like a banana cream pie with toffee cream. My husband had the triple chocolate caramel cake which was more like a chocolate lava cake, and not any better than any we've had elsewhere. Hudson Grille is my usual spot on a Friday or Saturday night out in White Plains. I have never ordered food here, but I have ordered a ton of alcoholic beverages from the indoor and outdoor bars. My friends come here for a good night out on the town and to dance the night away. Lately, the crowd has been alittle ratchet and the DJ has not been playing the usual party dance songs we enjoy. I have always liked that you can choose to hang outside by the outdoor bar in addition to the indoor dancefloor and bar. I always order Redbull Vodkas here and I was annoyed to find out that they raised the price from $10 to $13. That is overpriced for White Plains; it is not Manhattan. The outdoor female bartender was also very rude when I inquired about the price change. Hopefully, Hudson Grille will return to the Hudson Grille I know and enjoy. For now, I will be hanging out at Brazen Fox. Overall, I give 3 stars. read more
