The Hudson Grille is a delicately balanced upscale sports bar that truly embodies class. We decided to eat here before a movie at the cinema down Mamaroneck Avenue and definitely did not regret it. It showcases the fact that sports and bar atmospheres do not have to be seedy, unclassy, and that they can be classy but unpretentious. The sandwiches are particularly special and the wait staff was extremely accommodating of my gluten allergy, something pretty much unheard of at other sports bars. Went in for brunch on a Sunday. This is the perfect blend of sports bar/brunch spot. The place is decorated classy, the tables and chairs are very comfortable, and everything my group had to eat was above average (I had a bacon cheeseburger with a sunny side-up egg, grilled onions and a chipotle mayo on top - delicious!). Nice selection of beers here and the bloody marys have just the right amount of kick. Overall this place gets 4 stars and I will most certainly be back. The only reason I couldn't give it that 5th star was because the service was a bit slow (though they were extremely nice). For a somewhat quite Sunday afternoon we had a hard time getting our drinks refilled. I hear this place has a cool patio area for the spring/summer months so I look forward to returning to check it out. read more

Nice upbeat and fun environment mostly on Saturday nights and they also have an excellent choice of music to keep the vibe going. I don't know why, but I keep coming back. I guess once I've had enough drinks elsewhere, this place becomes tolerable, although it is completely and utterly overpacked. I've actually had great experiences with all the bartenders, and the music is typical top 40 pop mix. Pretty good for dancing (or grinding, because that's all you have room for). Absolutely love this place, was here for Oktoberfest, decided to do my birthday here as well. Accidentally mixed this place up with the Porterhouse next door, didn't have an issue though considering theyre connected through their patio. Huge bar area, very nice crowd. Place does get really crowded though, so if large crowds aren't your thing dont stay late on a weekend. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone for a night out or a celebration. read more

Got mixed feelings about this place. The service took a while to get to us, but they have a nice area outside to eat. The drinks were quite good, and so was the food - although the portions weren't too big. One of my mates did suffer food poisoning the following morning from eating oysters (or some kind of shellfish), so maybe stay away from those. It's a nice place, but it's not the best. We could've been there on a bad day, but I did avoid going back th following days and preferred looking for better places to eat (and I found them). read more

Great variety on their lunch menu. From soups, to appetizers, to salads, and entrees. Bit pricey for dinner with not as good variety as for lunch. On weekend days they only have a brunch menu until dinner hours. Great bar to sit at try the variety of beers and potent potables they serve. Great Friday happy hour also. Ambiance was nice. Outdoor seating is a plus. The staff was friendly and aimed to please (waiter and bus boys provided good service). Unfortunately, the food was extremely bland. Had the salmon salad, guacamole, chicken lettuce wraps and a pasta dish, shared among friends. The salmon was cooked well, but lacked that wow factor that makes you want to eat more than you take home. The Apps all lacked flavor. Decided to give Hudson a second try after my last bad experience. I went to Hudson with 10 of my friends for a St. Patty's Day celebration. Dinner was good. Our server, Manny was very attentive. However, my friend was assaulted later on in the night by another patron. The fight went on way too long before a bouncer intervened. The bouncer was on the stage face buried in his phone before we had to get his attention to assist in the melee. I personally went to the Manager to complain and was brushed off not really believing me that the bouncer did nothing until we got his attention. The Security Manager did the obligatory thing and went over to my friend to see if she was ok but I highly doubt anything with be done about this situation. I seriously question my safety now going to this establishment went the bouncers are too busy on their phones to protect the customers. read more

The food and service were great! We weren't happy with one of our drinks and our waiter replaced it without having to be asked. Very proactive in insuring a good experience. Came home for quick visit and my mom took us here for a late lunch. Maybe they can open a place in San Francisco. Everything was great. Granted we were practically the only people there but the food was great, the drinks were fantastic and I understand that they have live music. I had the most wonderful dish. It was the Vegetarian Napoleon. Inside the filo was butternut squash polenta,carrots,wild mushrooms and other veges. The Salmon was perfect but the fish and chips fish wasn't so fresh. We traveled from Fairfax, VA. We were celebrating our friends birthday and to watch the playoff game. Made a reservation for 9 people in front of the TV. 3 star place with 4-5 star prices. A colleague and I went here the other night and entered when it was not crowded at all. We were seated at a high top near the bar area. We ordered two beers right off the bat and they didn't arrive until about 10 minutes later. When they did arrive, my colleagues Black and Tan was essentially only black (terrible pour by the bartender). We ordered the calamari appetizer and it was really good. Would definitely recommend. I had the Steak & Frites and it was average. The New York is served bone in, which I like. However, I ordered a medium steak and it came out more well done. The sauce that they put on top of the steak lacks anything special and seems more confused than anything else. The frites were alright, though they were not the type you'd find in Belgium - they were more equivalent to American fast food fries with a little more flair. The service was also confusing. I think we Spahn 4-5 different people tend to us at different points throughout the meal. Every time we looked up a new face was there. In summary, this place would get more stars if it were more honest to what it really is. 3 star food at high prices. read more

Not a review about food, but about nightlife: Out of all the bar/clubs on Mamaroneck, this one is the best. The music is loud but pretty good (gets particularly good after midnight), the vibe is fun, and there's a lounge to the side when you want to take a break from the dance floor. Went with a couple of friends and here's what we ordered. We ordered the guac and chips which was flavorful. Cool taste with fresh onion and not too spicy. Could have used more than just 10 chips and a small scoop of guac for 4 people. It did come with pico and I mixed it with the guac which I think was the rout to go. I ordered the steak sandwich that was great. Very tender on ciabatta bread and was not try at all. The fries were excellent. Thin, crispy, and not too salty. The mozzarella and basil pizza w sausage was cold. The cheese wasn't melted and it wasn't enjoyable. The lobster salad was ok but it comes w the head and tail of the lobster for presentation. Huge piece of lobster. The truffle fries were ok. I've never had truffle but the garlic and seasoning was a nice additive. The truffle flavor was airy. The spicy lobster pasta was good. A last minute dinner decision was a terrific find in Westchester. Expected Hudson Grille in White Plains to offer standard pub fare, but the food and the service were really great! Generous pour of Ardbeg scotch. We loved the delicious Brussel sprouts "small plate" and grandma's pizza as appetizers, fish tacos, pear & gorgonzola salad, porterhouse steak, and paella as entrees. Servers were attentive and anticipated our requests, mgr (owner?) also stopped by a few times to check on things. Will definitely put this on our A list. read more

Came in April 15th with dinner reservations for a party of 10 they let us come in and eat with no problem we were able to order small plates for the table when we were ready to order more they told us we couldnt anymore because the kitchen was closed our waiter never advised us about the amount of time we had to order food well onto the rest of the night after dinner the place turns into a night club so we paid our bill and stayed to party of course and around 1 am we decided to go out into the front and smoke a ciggarette walking past two security guards who saw us come out now we are back in line to get back in with our friends who were still inside and they wouldnt let me & the other guy back in because they claimed we were "out of dress code" whatever that means since clearly people inside were in jeans and , and caps looked like they came out of a trailer park! they had the nerve to tell us that we shouldve never came outside! Lol after we spent about $500 in there establishment, they let the two white women we came out with back in who walked out with us but wouldnt let me (hispanic) or my (black) friend back in! But they were letting white boys in with ripped jeans and sweaters and baseball hats! Im assuming they had significant amount of minorities inside already so they were controlling the numbers they kept inside so they didnt seem to racist! Never going back there ever and ill let all my "minority" friends not to even try to go to the night club because they dont welcome our "kind" of money! Dissapointed and angry at the way we were treated that night! Hope you talk to the security infront because they were insensitive assholes! I give zero stars! read more

Yesterday for lunch was extremely uncharacteristic for this restaurant, however, when we walked out we all said, "that'll be the last time we go there again!". First of all, our waiter was so soft spoken and even when the place was barely full, we could barely hear him. No suggestions were given; we had to pry them out of him. We had ordered 4 salads with salmon and dressing on the side...simple. One was supposed to be with no avocado due to my father being allergic. The SALADS took 35 minutes to come out, and they ALL came with avocado. My father had to send it back and it took them an additional 35 MORE minutes to bring the food out and on top of that, they used the same piece of fish and just made the greens again. Since the salmon sat on top of the avocado for so long it got my father extremely sick! The manager came over and appologized for the first mistake and asked about the allergy. When he said they would make him a new one, that is what we expected. So the cold piece of fish that was now dry got him sick to the point where he was up all night. He was sick before leaving the restaurant and we told the manager and STILL they charged us for the meal that was wrong and got my father sick. I have been to this place 3 times in less than 2 months and it s really great. The food here is not typical bar food. It s actually well prepared and very good.
