I've been here a number of times lately, and quality pretty much defines hit-or-miss. Drinks are consistently tasty, but the food and service are sometimes lacking. Last visit, for instance, I had a fantastic, flavorful steak, but an unfortunately watery and boring clam chowder. Appetizers were just as inconsistent and service was pitifully slow - though it isn't always! Bringing this place up to a consistent standard will do it so many favors as most of the pieces are in place for a great restaurant. First time here. The venue is very large. Inside and out. I had a sangria at the bar ( can't remember the name but it was at the bottom of the drink menu) - reasonably priced. Was here for brunch-- the menu wasn't impressive but I ordered the corn beef hash over rice w/ egg but 5-7 mins or so after ordering it, I was told they ran out. Bummer! Ended up getting the crab cake dish instead. It was ok. Not spectacular-- especially because i wanted the hash. The homefries were the best part. The plating of my food and my friends-- very nice! Nothing like great food in the heart of white plains! We came here for our team lunch and we (party of 12) were seated in their semi private area. The restaurant is very nice and has a Manhattan feel to it. They have a great selection of wines and top shelf liquor. The lunch menu had enough choices to meet everyone on the teams dietary restrictions. I personally had their onion soup and grill chicken salad and it was by far the best salad I have had. Very simple salad not over the top seasoning but just right. They chicken was cooked to perfection, slightly crunchy on one side and soft and tender throughout. We also had a last minute birthday celebration for three of our team members and they were so gracious enough to accommodate this request. After looking online at the places in the area we picked this place for our work meeting. The setting really couldn't have been better! It was a little loud, but so are most places like this From this point there were few positives from this dining experience. Positive thing one, they were quick to seat us on time at our reservation time. Our server was very friendly and gave us time to decide what we wanted. Now for the rest of the story..... Drinks, simple vodka and soda and a local draft beer took what seemed like a long time to get to us, especially factoring in how busy they were. Simple appetizer of salsa and guac took almost 30 minutes to get out to the table. Quality would be ranked between a 2 and 3. The chips were almost had a stale texture to them. Salsa looked good, but was really quite bland. Guac, I didn't try. My friend had the salmon and I had the duck breast. It took about 30 more minutes for these orders to come out, meanwhile drinks were not being checked on to see if we needed anything else. Now, when i say thirty minutes for entree's, I should clarify that was for my food (duck breast). The salmon was nowhere to be found and not only that our waiter went MIA as well. When he finally came to our table he asked us what happened with my friends order, as if we should know. He indicated he would go check. As my food continued to get cold, we waited and waited until we flagged him down again and he said he would go check on it. After a total of about 15 minutes they bring the order out, incorrect. About a minute later the right order showed up. I commented that was a really long wait and that my food had gotten cold, to which he said he'd get mine warmed and that he would be back in a minute. Before I could respond my food was swooped up and taken away. I appreciate the effort, but this took in excess of 5 minutes (7 - 8 total), meanwhile the other food was getting cold. Presentation of food (duck and salmon) were both quite nice, however the flavor of the duck was mediocre at best. The waiter realized they had messed up and covered one round of drinks ($20) and tried to get us dessert, but at this point we were just done and wanted to get out of there. Overall, very dissatisfied with the dining experience factoring in the atmosphere and price. I would have a hard time recommending this place to anyone, and would not be in a hurry t return. read more

Excellent outdoor patio seating during the pandemic, although a bit noisy for my taste. Solid food, too. We started with the soft pretzels and margherita flatbread. Both were fine, but nothing special. The watermelon and burrata salad was particularly large and tasty; the addition of raisins and almonds made it more special. We each had the pan seared branzino, which was cooked well and was tasty. The mashed potatoes were a nice side dish recommended by our server. We each had the warm chocolate cake accompanied by vanilla ice cream which provided a strong finish to our meal. Service was efficient. Would definitely return. read more

Clue to management on improving a bottom line... If a glass is empty in a bar / restaurant ... up-sell ... tell your servers to ask if a refill is needed .. that is your bottom line. Food was bad in 4 out of 4 cases although my advice in any case to my son was never order pizza in a pseudo steak place. But my daughter and I both order the steak sandwich. Steak place ... it seemed like it should be right up their alley. My daughter called it a salad sandwich before she even took a bite. There may have been 1 to 2 ounces of meat on each of our sandwiches. The appetizers were cheap and small but OK. There are ... I hope ... better choices in the area although in my infrequent times I eat in White Plains ... I always seem to strike out. Today was a perfect day to come here and take full advantage of the sun and the cool outside seating . They also have TVs so we were able to enjoy some of today's baseball game . Service was a little long but they gave us really great attention once we were helped . The food was so fresh and good . My experience with Hudson Grille generally stems from their nightlife offerings and St. Patrick's Day festival. However, I have began experiencing their dining options and have been pretty pleased. My last time with them was a summer sunday brunch. Though I was a bit discouraged that there was no bottomless drink option, I have to say that I was very satisfied. The outdoor decor was great. Attentive staff and flexible ordering options. I was allowed to heavily modify my spice latte coffee drink to my liking. The brunch dining selection was pretty standard, but each dish had a bit of a welcomed twist to them. Only reason I wont give a 5 star to Hudson is that my beef in the filet benedict was a little overdone and my girlfriend's fresh fruits were all but fresh. I also know what goes on here during after hours and no sort of cleaning can erase all of the obscenities from the night before! read more

Really awesome brunch. Came here after actually getting drinks here the night before (lol) and had the filet benedict and a coffee and it was awesome! A little pricey but its worth it. It was pretty empty for brunch on a Sunday so we got seated immediately and the service was decent. I really like the inside of Hudson Grille, there's a lot of wood and it seems kind of like a classy rustic vibe. For weekend drinks- super crowded, clubby vibe. To be honest I hadn't even gone in here until that night because I thought it was like all the other bars. Hudson is definitely a more clubby scene then any of the other bars on Mamaroneck. They also have the outdoor patio which they have a tent and heat in the winter which opens things up a bit. The drinks were decently priced and the music was great. Lots of dancing! Definitely recommend if you want more of a dancing club scene then the other bars you get a table at. read more

Great place, went with a party of 6, first time for all of us, they seated us at our reserved time, we started out at the bar, great service, nice drinks. Dinner was really nicely done. Apps we had were: Crab cakes Calamari Pretzels Sliders All were nicely prepared and wait staff was very nice. Because it was Saturday they were a little scarce at times, but we didn't care we had a lot of lost time to make up for. Dinners were Seafood Risotto. Done to perfection. Plank Salmon and the rest alludes me, Rice pudding Creme Brulee and Hot chocolate cake were also very awesome. Went here for a party and was really pretty happy overall. I was surprised to be out in a tent in the back but then I really had no idea what to expect when I pulled up. It was very warm and comfortable. When I told other people we were in a tent they were shocked because it's December and I said no no no it was really quite nice it was toasty and comfortable. It was a nice large space we had about 55 people it could've held another dozen or so comfortably. The food was good. It was a nice salad and there was vegetables potatoes chicken Florentine. That was very interesting and good it had artichoke hearts which was very different than I ever had before. There was also brace short ribs which were delicious. My complete with the food was that they didn't turn over the trays very quickly or put more and I guess they could've done it that way when it was getting low. So those of us with the end of the line got like nothing. And then we were forced to go back for seconds because there was nothing there the first time. But it was delicious so if you're looking for food they do a good spread. We had two bartenders were very nice. They took good care of us throughout the night. They never rushed us out or made us feel like we had to leave right then and there. But it was very funny when they were cleaning up and taking down the walls and tables and everything around us. I'm not from around here so chances are I'll never be back. But for those who are local I recommended. read more

Came here for lunch for the first time with my Grandma. She was late, and I was the first one there.......literally. First in the entire restaurant. Which I found odd considering they had already been open for an hour and a half. Made me nervous, but the food turned out pretty decent. I can't rave about my beet salad or salmon, but you certainly can't go wrong ordering them. The service was alright. They were very accommodating to my grandmother's allergies, and able to prepare the lobster roll sans lemon or dairy. But at the same time the server was missing for prolonged periods of time....in an empty restaurant. My grandma wanted olive oil for our less than entertaining bread basket, but it only came half-way through our entrees after asking four people. I wouldn't have minded, but the server didn't even address the fact that he forgot, or apologize. Not too bad, but nothing's really calling me back there anytime soon. read more

It's not so good that I'd ask my friends to come up from the city to try their food, but I'd definitely be down to come here for brunch at least once a month. I had the huevos rancheros and the chorizo was the best chorizo I've had since Los Comales in Durham, NC; I feel like I'm constantly searching for that elusive, perfect chorizo in the Northeast and I found it ... here. My boyfriend got the crab benedict; I usually am not a fan of crabcakes (even though I love crab) but these crabcakes were seriously delicious. I called ahead maybe about 10mins to ask them if they can have a table for 10 ready and they said yes, it was a Monday night at 830 when I called so it was empty. When I got there about 15 mins later it was set and ready. My whole party was not there but Michael insisted its not a problem and said we can have a seat. He also let us order before the rest of our party arrived, which was nice. It's a bit chilly in here so I recommend a light sweater if you get cold quickly. Me and my mother had the prix Fixe menu, the salad, surf and turf with vanilla and strawberry ice cream for dessert. The steak and lobster tail was a good size, I'm full for $29 I recommend this meal for this place. It was very satisfying and in happy I got it. I got medium my mom got well done she said she wished she did medium because it was too cooked so, be weary. The ice cream was very good btw. My sister had the lobster roll she liked it a lot. Enjoyed her whole meal. My cousin didn't like his but he's 16 so he said it wasn't bad but more of an acquired taste. Someone got a pizza she didn't really like it either but she's 17 said its more of an squired taste as well. She just said it was kind of weird didn't really taste like pizza. I've come here many times for lunch, dinner, and drinks. I always enjoyed myself. The staff is really fun. They joke around with you, but are always on their game. They tactfully pause a conversation with a regular to take care of another customer and then pick right back up in chatting without losing a beat. The food is great, too. Our reservation was for Saturday at 7:15 and out ground of 6 including two toddlers were seated right away, it was a nice day and outside area was open too but we sat inside, it's a big restaurant with a nice modern decor, I was surprised that the place wasn't packed at this time, they have a big menu of beer, wine and special cocktails, I went with a beer and my fiancé had a cocktail. For the table we ordered truffle fries, the menu has everything from salads, meats, pizza, sandwiches, etc. my fiancé had the caprese pasta and I had the burger with sweet potato fries, the burger had bacon, aioli and swiss cheese.
