Came here to the Westfield Mall in downtown San Francisco to The Boss store to exchange or get store credit for a $70 T-shirt that was a Christmas gift with a gift receipt and all original tags in place because it was never used or worn. This very disrespectful customer service agent whom I wish I got his name was so rude and refused to exchange or give us a store credit because we have to get the brand new t-shirt dry cleaned before we return it. Why because when the shirt was in my trunk got a spot of dust as you see in the picture if you can even see it Really disappointed with such a customer service frim a favorite store. Service here is hit or miss and seems to depend on how busy the store is. First visit, store was empty, but I didn't have much time to look, but an associate was helpful in bringing me jackets to try on and helping size me. He offered his card and told me to text or call. Next visit, store was busy and no one would give me the time of day. Walked around for a long time and, after a token effort from someone to point me at a wall, eventually someone else came out from the back to help. This person had a lot of great styling ideas. Third time, store was busy and had to beg for help. Felt like it was too much trouble for the associate to help or make suggestions. I was told I could make an appointment on the website to see someone in store, but it turns out this option is only for people who are buying online. Why would I need an appointment with someone to make suggestions if I'm buying it online?? Overall pretty disappointing and frustrating shopping experience, especially when I'm there and ready to spend $$$! read more

So I'm usually more of the Club Monaco/Banana Republic type, which shouldn't come as a surprise considering I'm in my early 20s. But occasionally I'll venture into a store like Hugo Boss when I'm feeling a little fancier (i.e., payday). One Sunday morning I walked into the relatively empty store wearing just a t-shirt, jeans and sandals. Bad idea. I immediately felt uncomfortable when I noticed at least four pairs of eyes watching my every move. Not a single "hello," nor a nod of acknowledgement, simply the "you've obviously walked into the wrong store, so we're waiting for you to check the price tag of one of our items before we expect you to leave" sort of look. After about two minutes of complete silence, I found myself looking closely at a jacket that caught my eye. Before I knew it, a sales rep approached me from behind: "Sir, that jacket is $300" he muttered arrogantly before quickly turning away, failing to offer any assistance. EXCUSE ME?! I was pissed. I may not look like I fit the profile of a typical shopper at this store, but I sure as hell make more than your minimum wage plus not-so-spectacular commission ass. I couldn't believe how rude the guy was. The unmerited arrogance was unbelievable (I mean, dude, you're a freakin' sales rep!) I ended up doing a bit of damage to my credit card that morning, despite the horrible customer service. Part of the reason I ended up making the purchase was because I actually really like the clothing at Kenneth Cole. A while back I was in the City and ended up at the Westfield shopping center. I needed a dress shirt, while buying that shirt I saw suit that I needed to have, it was a three button blue suit that's not dark enough to be navy with powder blue pinstripes. That suit immediately made all the other suits I own look cheap by comparison. The line from Anchorman would be "Suits so fine it would make Sinatra look like a hobo." In a way it was true because the price plus alterations and tax would be over a grand. Fast forward to today. It's my mom's birthday, it's also my godmother's daughter's high school graduation. I told my mom I'd take the day off work to hang out with her and so we went out to the city for the graduation ceremony. Being that the school in question was the SF School of the Arts, the ceremony was also a recital and some of these kids have legit talent. After all of the graduation stuff I asked my mom what she wanted to do, she said she wanted to shop. We ended up at Westfield shopping center and after looking at stuff for her, we were at Hugo Boss. "So, Mom, this is the suit I like." "Let's buy it!" "Um, I had unexpected expenses that wiped out my savings last month and my George Bush check is going towards bills." "Don't worry about it, buy it, IT'S ON SALE!" "But I already budgeted out most of my paycheck which is coming in on the 15th." "So we'll charge my credit card and you can pay me back whenever!" I don't know what happened but since now my mother is an empty nester maybe she has much more of a disposable income because she isn't paying for my stuff? Anyways, I was a bit wary because "Let's charge my credit card,"got me into a lot of trouble in college. I found Nick, the salesman from last time, he remembered me and I got a changing room for a suit. When I stepped out, my mom picked out THREE OTHER SUITS for me to try on. They're all awesome but I just couldn't decide. And there's no way, even with my mother's generosity that I would buy more than one. So Nick gave me a swatch of fabric and gave me time to decide. So I'll be back on Sunday, with my mother, and we'll buy a suit that would probably end up costing a grand or so and we'll charge it to her credit card. Once charged, I'll pay her back whenever... without interest. I love you Mom and happy birthday. Best service in the mall! Samantha Estrella was the best sales person I ever had in that mall. She was very knowledgeable about hugo boss products and is aware of their competitors. She knew what hugo boss products bloomingdales and other competitors carry compared to the hugo boss boutique. She is aware of the deals and explains the advantages of purchasing hugo boss at the actual store instead of their competitors. I ended up buying a suit and she help tailored it to my frame. I have had some pretty amazing shopping experiences here! To address the other gentleman's review, who only gave one star - I know exactly who you are talking about and I haven't seen him there recently; so if you're willing to try you should venture back once more and see if the treatment you receive is better. I LOVE Hugo Boss, I unfortunately don't quite fit into their womens' clothes, but I do a lot of damages in the mens' section for the hubby. I love the suits they have in for Fall 2012 and can see 2-3 that I shall be purchasing, I shall have to spread it over a couple of pay checks. I'm a pretty loyal shopper, if a particular person has assisted me before, I make the effort to go back to that person - it goes both ways right? I give you repeat business, and you LOOK AFTER ME! Ro is hands down favorite sales person in SF! He is never pushy, he always recommends different shirt tie combos I should grab for the hubby, but if he sees me being hesitant, he takes a step back and never pushes it or he will mention to me that I probably shouldn't burn all my money in one go, and should come back when I've thought it over carefully. Service with a smile and the tall cold glass of beer was also a surprise. I don't shop much but when I do it is usually for things I actually need. Strumming around the mall I happened to stop by this store to see if I could find a wallet , maybe pants and maybe a fitted shirt. Sales reps here don't immediately attack you like some places, the venue is neat, clean, very open not overstocked. I was able to do a full round in the store before being asked if I needed help finding anything. I have been looking around for specific style of wallet, Kenneth Cole use to offer them season but it has been 4 years since it has been released. One of the sales reps (Ro) assisted me, asked if there was anything in paticular I was looking for, stated one piece wallet that does not fold, but can fit 5-6 cards and have a compartment for either a visible ID if not a sleeve that can hold the ID. Ro was able to show me what they had available, he offered to tall glass of beer while he searched "tall glass of beer" hell yeah, I might have to come back for more stuff. He was able to find one of the wallets that have everything I wanted except for the clear sleeve for a visible ID from the Boss Orange line, He was able to get me one that holds 4 cards in front, middle portion that holds money or checks and on the back little pocket that snaps on both ends. Although it is not quite what I wanted it was closest thing I seen to the one piece Kenneth Cole wallet I have been searching for, for 4 years haha. I picked up two that day since these type of wallets are hard to find =) Ro also stated they offer to do fittings for button up t-shirts and pants I was looking around, I'm pretty sure I will be back for some dress pants, few jackets and some shirts, overall experience with this place I would come back for the service, even if they don't have something exactly I am looking for the can offer items that come fairly close. I've been going here, pretty much since it opened. I was thrilled. It meant I didn't have to drive all the way to their store in Valley Fair in San Jose. Hugo Boss has quickly become my favorite store at SF Centre. I love the crisp, clean, modern style of the brand. Their prices are moderate, for the quality and the style, and for what you'd expect from a European brand. When I say "moderate," I mean, about 1/2 the cost of an Armani or a Zegna or a Burberry, but it is certainly pricier than off the rack at Macy's. It's the perfect store for reworking one's wardrobe, as I'm slowly doing. They've got something for every occasion. Best thing is the half-yearly private sales for preferred shoppers. It's a good way to shop for some great deals. But best of all, the level of service here is spectacular. I've been working with Nick there for 2+ years, and he's helped me out immensely, whether it's ties, sweaters, jeans, specially ordering a pair of pants from a different store because they didn't have my size, or ordering (or reordering) a suit or tux. He knows his stuff and has been extremely helpful every time I'm at the store. He's a pleasure to work with and always seems to go the extra mile. I wanted to love our Hugo Boss experience, and we almost did. Our first time in the store, Walter was amazing. He stayed a little late (sorry, Walter!) to help us out. When we came back about a month later to purchase the suit we had originally found, it was a subpar experience. The rest of the staff was not terribly helpful in Walter's absence. Once he came back and it was time to ring up the suit, we learned we'd have to pay a fee for rush alterations. Ok...our bad for waiting so long. However, when we came back a week later to pick up the suit, one arm was about an inch and a half longer than the other. The pants were also about an inch too long. It was very frustrating having paid for rush alterations and then to have to have them done again. My husband was leaving _for our wedding_ the next day and wouldn't be able to a) try the suit on again and b) take the suit with him. So I went back a few days later to pick up the suit. It was largely fine, but they still hadn't moved a button. We called it a wash and moved on. The suit was beautiful for our wedding, but getting the suit to its current state was a pain. Here's to hoping any subsequent interactions we have with Hugo Boss are better. read more

I recently bought a tux and a few other items with Omar's help at the SF store and I have been beyond impressed. Now I know where GQ models go to shop! I came here to get fitted for a suit for a wedding. The salesman who helped me (his name was Moussa) couldn't have been more helpful. It was clear that they were short-staffed that day, and yet he still bent over backwards to take care of me. I wound up spending an extra hour trying on jeans and sifting through their other hip attire. Hugo Boss is the kind of place where Ryan Gosling's character in "Crazy, Stupid Love" would've shopped. Make no mistake, this ain't Macy's or the Gap. After trying on a dozen different jeans, I finally selected two pairs that I liked. Total cost: $350. Ok, so I'll admit - this place isn't cheap. But then again, a good pair of jeans is an investment, and if you play your cards right, they're something you'll be wearing for years to come. At the end of the day, this is an upscale clothing retailer, and they give you first-class treatment. At one point, while I was trying on clothes in the dressing room, Moussa offered me a complimentary bottle of water. And at the end of my shopping experience, he waived the alteration fee for my pants (which saved me at least $30). I look forward to shopping here again in the future. read more

Staff is usually helpful at this Boss location. However, I tried to return a pair of jeans about a month and a half after I bought them and the cashier was very rigid about it. I was only able to get store credit, which is really annoying. Who wants to get stuck with store credit? What good can come out of that? I don't shop here but my boyfriend does, all the time. I mean, ALL the time! The sales guys know him by name and now me by face just by association. It always smells nice, everything is organized well, and everyone is also very friendly and helpful. They also have an on sight tailor which really helps when you need a suit or something altered.
