I bought two Vince short-sleeve sweaters for over $300 each and followed the care instructions exactly, including hand washing cold. Both sweaters shrank after washing and never returned to their original fit or shape. For a brand positioned at this price level, that is unacceptable. If a garment cannot withstand the brand's own recommended care instructions, then either the quality is poor or the care guidance is misleading. I contacted customer service, sent photos, and provided proof of purchase. Their reply was quick, but they refused to offer any resolution because too much time had passed since the purchase. That told me everything I needed to know about how Vince stands behind its products. The cost of making this right for two shirts would have been small. Instead, they lost me as a lifetime customer. Amazing place. Magical. I was greeted by a regional or national director (don't remember because service was so good) Russell. He and Emm, the store manager helped me re-vamp my entire wardrobe, kept me up to date on both current sales/deals as to not make it too weird ! My experience at this store on 10/27/23 was so disagreeable that I am leaving a public review so others don't waste their time with this store. This review specifically concerns the store manager, Emily, and her assistant, who are two of the most unpleasant salespeople I have ever interacted with. I received a Vince item on 10/26 and visited the store the next day to return it due to sizing issues. The assistant and then Emily, proceeded to give me the runaround on how the dress was purchased on sale and thus, it was a final sale item and not returnable. Nowhere on the website or in my emails was there any note of the item being final sale and non-returnable. Emily interrupted me to emphasize that she's worked at Vince for 10 years and has never taken back a sale item. During the entire exchange, both Emily and her assistant were downright rude and aggressive. When Emily realized I wouldn't meekly concede and I would take it up with corporate, she later called me and said she spoke with her colleague Rebecca and was willing to take back the item for store credit only. I reached out to Vince corporate asking for clarification, and they then informed me that I was indeed able to return the item for a full refund. Everything that Emily told me in store was incorrect. At best, she is confused about Vince's policies (despite working there for 10 years), and at worst, she is actively misleading customers. My negative experience with this store does not seem to be an isolated one, based on similar previous complaints on here and Google. I will not be visiting Vince SF again. read more

I love Vince and have had great experiences shopping online and in the Palo Alto store, but this SF store just sucks. The store manager and assistant manager are so rude and awful. If you have an online return (hey, it happens, that's part of shopping online!), the attitude switches on and it makes me re-think shopping with Vince, period. The last time I visited this store, which was a year ago, the assistant store manager was a total b and accused me of wearing the item I wanted to return (after she confirmed the item was shipped from an outlet store, where items tend to get manhandled). Do better Vince, otherwise you lose customers who would prefer to not shop online so they can avoid the a-holes in the SF store. read more

We received such incredible service from the Vince store from the moment we walked in. The manager, Em, was beyond friendly and entertained our toddler with stickers while my husband and I shopped. She went out of her way to help us locate a jacket we wanted for my husband and made sure we got the best deal on it. Full disclosure this review is directed specifically at the store manager Pam and her protege Bianca, and is not at all a reflection of how I feel about Vince clothes or accessories (which are of course chic and fabulous!) I am sorry to say I had a VERY unpleasant experience at the Geary street location this afternoon when I attempted to exchange a pair of shoes. I bought these shoes for my sister at Christmas. Unfortunately I did not account for the fact that my sister is massively pregnant with swollen feet. ..Long story short I simply needed to exchange the exact same shoes for 1/2 size up. Easy, right? Wrong! I get it it's Covid right after the holiday and I completely understand if people are a bit on edge.... Pam however took the attitude to a whole new level. Rude doesn't even begin to describe Pam. Pam treated me like a disgusting sale shopping common criminal. She gave me SUCH a hard time to make the exchange and acted as if it were somehow my fault that the item was on sale. I ended up calling the other location that I purchased the shoes from and having them talk to Pam. 45 minutes later Pam took my exchange and charged my Amex 30 cents for the exchange which was HILARIOUS! Normally speaking I would be happy to spend 45 minutes in Vince and would browse and probably leave with full shopping bags. I did not do that today because Pam and her associate Bianca were so unpleasant. The worst! Never a "can I help you find anything?" Only a "do you have an appointment?!" and "why were these shoes on sale?!" Hello your store is empty with three people working there. I don't work for Vince- how would I know why these shoes are on sale at some Vince locations while Pam has them marked at full price. Please don't insinuate that I did something shady just because these shoes were on sale. All people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect; be it it the sales associate or the sale shopper. There's no questioning the refined but modern simplicity of the Vince look. It's immediately hot, slightly European with a nod to California casualness. For women, their leather jackets are deliciously fitting, where even their leggings are coveted items. Um, this is merely an observation. For men, I've been so far impressed with their jeans and sweaters, basics, admittedly, but done well. The only thing that needs con-vincing, so to speak, is the price tag, but with the seasons coming and going, keep an eye on sales and you should do alright. The layout of the store is spacious yet enticing, but there's just enough chill to make you feel like you're in SoHo (something that's sorely missing in Union Square, I must say). read more

This Vince is absolutely one of my favorite places to shop at in San Francisco. The store isn't especially big but the layout is organized and very comfortable to the customer. The customer service here is fantastic. I was immediately attended to when I walked into the store and not only were they able to answer my questions, but also went above and beyond in recommending other pieces of clothing to me. They weren't selling me but helping me make the best fashion decisions possible. Not sure what the other reviews are referring to, but I have encountered Emily twice and Matt once and I have experienced the Vince standard that is expected. I was able to successfully return even the online store items at this particular store. To give more context, they have to mail the items back to corporate and that's just extra, unnecessary work for them. I was in San Francisco on August 5th visiting from Los Angeles and my friends told me about the Vince store in downtown. They know this is my brand and I have probably one of the massive men's collection from the brand. All the LA stores I went to knows me and they were all nice. However, true to the reviews here, the ladies were rude. They were both Filipinas. I know they were because I am Filipino myself. The one on the floor was semi-friendly. Vince, why have you stolen my heart with your beautiful leather jackets? I have always admired leather jackets but I have never really found one that fit me quite like the one I found at Vince the other day. I went to Vince with my fashionable friend and I randomly tried on a leather scuba jacket (I didn't make up this name) that was going for a whopping $995. It was quite gorgeous and fit me really well. The leather was really soft too. What was funny was that the sales associate was wearing the same one so obviously she thought it was beautiful too. I still think that for better prices you can go to a department store like Nordstrom or Bloomingdales and find Vince, etc. but there's still nothing like going to the actual store and just admiring their lovingly curated racks. read more

The most beautiful Vince store I have ever been to. I regularly go in and always ask for Emm. She is extremely helpful, personable and has a charismatic and contagious personality. She will go out of her way and to the end of the earth to get you what you need. I have gone in multiple times where she is assisting multiple clients and I have never once not been taken care of and felt like the only one in the store. I always have the most incredible experience and always leave with a smile and usually with a beautiful addition to my closet. The store is always so well kept organized and it was recently remodeled and looks stunning. I was very upset I had forgotten to return a Vince sweater I had ordered online within their 30 day limit. I called Vince customer service and they said they were unable to make an exception to their return policy. I had previously been to Vince on Geary St and had found Emm Kung to be very helpful when purchasing some clothes there so I decided to go in and see if she could help me. Emm was amazing! She not only allowed me to exchange the sweater but also gave me some additional Black Friday discounts I had missed when shopping on line! left with a new sweater and a coat! The store manager is the least pleasant person I have encountered in a long time. I'm not sure what drew her to retail, as she lacks personal skills and any sense of customer service. I went in yesterday afternoon to purchase a birthday present for a friend and asked if it was possible to put it in a gift box, as I was watching the her put together a nicely wrapped box for another customer. Her response was simply, "not for a sale item." To disregard and shame someone for purchasing sale items is appalling. The Vince store in San Franciso just opened up last week and it makes me oh-so happy! I'm a huge fan of Vince and it's really hard to find in boutiques. The store is stylish, modern, and sleek. It's also full of light and it is spacious. You can find a lot of leather jackets, tops, sweaters, and leggings. There's a lot of the basic and non basic styles too.
