Been going there for years. Always bring out of town or new people there. Always great. Always. Until tonight. They imo had an amazing burger. Fresh brioche bun. Thick juicy burger cooked to order and perfect. Welll guess they changed suppliers cause this burger was thin. Overcooked. Had pre cooked grill marks on it. Bun was old and stale. Ordered medium rare but was very wel done. But you can't cook a Burger King extra thin patty med rare can you. No. All you can do is re heat it. So disappointed. My friend had chicken wrap. We both had water. Still walked out saying 75$ 75 $! I mean it was truly a Burger King patty on a stale bun and a chicken wrap that looked like it was from Ralph's. One of my favorite places to have breakfast in West Hollywood! Legendary for its healthy and delicious food...and great juices. It's so nice and cozy inside. They also have such a nice little terrace outside. If you love great pasta, and love eggs for breakfast, you have to try their 'pasta mama' or the 'pasta papa'. Classic breakfast dishes they have been serving for at least 35 years. Perfectly al dente spaghetti tossed with scrambled eggs, Parmesan cheese, and scallions. The pasta papa also has bacon and turkey sausage. It's so delicious for breakfast. The service here is always excellent. I ordered a fresh ginger lemonade and they even gave me an extra lemonade to go. Free parking in their lot just behind the restaurant. Total throwback and a place that just makes you happy. Went for a later supper and great to find easy parking in the back and though we made a reses there was plenty of seating available so no problem. Started off with the Hugo's fresh green tea served in a French Press and it was perfect for a cold December night and then had went for a taste of nostalgia with the turkey meatloaf dinner. Couple of thick cuts of meatloaf served with a side of mashed potatoes and steamed veggies and subtle mushroom gravy to make it a real party. Well seasoned and went down easy, but just enough to not want to have any dessert which I was hoping for but have to do it next time. Great service and very quick from seating to paying the bill. Hugo's in West Hollywood has been around for a very long time. And one thing is consistent with this restaurant; really good food with quality ingredients. I've not been here since before the pandemic, and Hugo's is still providing great meals to large crowds. I'm here this morning with nine other friends on a Saturday late morning. The place is busy, but they were able to accommodate us in under five minutes. Talk about great timing. We were promptly seated and offered menus and water. Myself, along with a friend, each ordered the Protein Scramble. See picture of menu for descriptions. The portions were large and arrived very hot. Perfect. We both enjoyed our breakfast. The breakfast potatoes were crispy and delicious. I had toast with my scramble and my friend paid $3 extra for a single Pumpkin Pancake. Another friend next to me had the Scrambled Egg Sandwich with fries. He said it was okay and didn't really elaborate why it was just "okay." It looked good, but missing some type of protein; perhaps bacon. Another friend had the Pasta Papa. A large portion of food and he said it tasted great and fresh. It was so much food that he took the remainder to go. Other meals at the table were a hamburger, two breakfast burritos, and a Create-Your-Own-Scramble. I heard no complaints from anyone regarding their meals. The service was very good considering we were a party of ten. Katia was very friendly, personable, and attentive. We were back in the area for our daughter's performance. We had an hour to kill so we stopped in to Hugo's. We arrived and my wife requested the patio. Patio is covered and is dog friendly. It's also the perfect spot for people watching. Water was poured and we looked over the menu. Mimosa for my wife and a French 75 for me. The mimosa is served with a split of Chandon and a tiny carafe of orange juice. It was enough for 2 drinks. The French 75 was good. We decided to just order a couple of appetizers. Asian spring rolls and chicken strips basket. The spring rolls were packed carrots lettuce cucumbers some noodles and mint. There was a peanut dipping sauce served with the dish. The roll was good but I found the peanut sauce to be too salty. The chicken strips were more like a katsu. It was a thin chicken breast, breaded and fried then cut into strips. The chicken sat on top of a bed of fries. The fries were good but both the chicken and fries were under seasoned. My main complaint was the lack of service. No small plates until we were almost done with the meal I finished my French 75 about halfway through the meal. I then proceeded to finish my water and still no server to be found. Lots of restaurants in the area so I will try other spots, next time we are in the area. read more

The food was delicious and the care they take to have a place for those with food allergies made it even better! I tried a little of everything because it's not often I make my way to West Hollywood. The fried pickles were so delicious that I still think about them. I also ordered their spring rolls which were phenomenal. For my main meal I ordered their burger and I was so excited to eat it that I forgot to take a picture but trust me it was so good! For dessert I had their chocolate cake and let me tell you I haven't had a gf/df chocolate cake that heavenly in years! It was wonderful! We really enjoyed ourselves here! Came around 12 pm on a Saturday and it was pretty full! We got the last table on the patio (which is dog friendly btw) and I think the inside had a bit of a wait. I always love stopping in at Hugo's! They have the absolute best happy hour -- drinks as low as $4 and cheap yet delicious eats, too! You can get a full meal and a cocktail or glass of wine for under $20. I especially like the gluten-free chicken tenders and the spring rolls from the happy hour menu, and their (non-alcoholic) strawberry lemonade is to die for. My first time at Hugo's in valley village The staff that we got was super attentive and helpful when it came to us asking for different things or helping us make some food choices. We had a group of 12 and was sat in the patio. Food Order: My horchata latte was so refreshing love it The chocolate chip pancakes were my favorite so fluffy and with just the right amount of sweetness! The chilaquiles were ok, for me not too much flavor I had to add a good amount of hot sauce to add a little taste. Bathrooms were pretty clean. After the month we have had, we are all experiencing some PTSD in Los Angeles. I love everything about it: location (on a busy corner in Hollywood), longevity (yeah, it's OG vintage 1980), the bright, cozy, warm, fresh interior, the incredible menu (especially for a vegetarian like me), and the quality and uniqueness of every dish. I think my photos will speak for themselves. The service was top notch and friendly, the music atmosphere was somehow upbeat and calming at the same time, everything was spotless and it was the kind of place where you can let yourself breathe and relax. The service was unacceptable from start to finish. We were seated in the back and waited an excessive amount of time just to receive silverware. When we finally brought it up, the waiter's response was, "Sorry, this isn't my section." That's not an acceptable excuse. If a staff member is unable or unwilling to assist guests outside of their assigned section, then the restaurant needs to address that issue internally rather than making it the customer's problem. We came in excited to try a new restaurant in the neighborhood, especially because of the gluten-free options, but the entire experience was a major disappointment. Poor service completely overshadowed the meal and left us feeling unwelcome and ignored. Unfortunately, this experience was enough to ensure we will not be returning. Even with the space being as bustling as the boulevard, our server was a sun kissed, young woman, with braids & big brown eyes. She was level headed, courteous, polite and professional. She kept her cool in the midday heat lunch rush and the food was just as phenomenal as the service. .
