We were in the midst of moving our house and lost our car key in all of the mess. Because we were in a hurry to take the car to another destination, we requested a lock smith to come to our place and help us out. Sure enough, a locksmith by the name of Michael came to our house at a short notice and helped out. Although the procedure was fairly long and very expensive, Michael was very kind to keep us company by telling humorous stories and showing us how he designs the key. Even after he created the replicated key with no mistake, he gave us a free emergency key head to open the door in case we get locked out. He also stated that individuals get a discount for their next locksmith purchase, although it's unlikely that we'll be losing our key again. read more

Total scam artist! We locked our selves out of townhouse so we called and asked how much to get in via locksmith versus me drilling out the lock. I was told they couldn't quote it over the phone but for $29 they would send someone out to give me quote. It was late in the evening, getting cold and time for the kids to go to bed, so I was leaning toward using the locksmith for convenience. He arrived promptly and communicated his arrival well. But after a brief glance at the front lock he quoted nearly $300 to pick the lock. Excuses were provided of course but none were even remotely feasible. I politely told him I wasn't interested, I would simply drill it out and replace the lock myself. This is when he proceeded to explain the $75 cancellation fee plus the $29 fee for coming out meant that I owed him $104 plus t.t.l. regardless, so what if he cut me a break and did the work for $200, that way for only $96 more than I already owed I wouldn't have to drill it out and replace the lock. He did not accept my protest of the hidden $75 cancellation fee, but after some stern discussion I was able to haggle him down to $129. Haggling is not the way I like to do business but we had to get this scam to at least be in a reasonable range. 30 minutes later he has been unsuccessful "picking" the lock because the lock is a "smart" lock with special roller pins that apparently posses special anti-picking properties. Therefore he is going to be forced to drill it out anyway. But no worries, he wont charge me anymore to drill it out and he conveniently has new locks for sale in his van for $175 (for those following along at home that comes to $129 + $175 = $304.....the original quote). This is when I was forced to call him out and I promptly explained that the deadbolt in question was nothing more than mid-range hardware from Home Depot and there was nothing intelligent about it....I know because I purchased it. He promptly puts his headlamp back on to take a closer look and this time was able to spot a clue that apparently told him exactly how to open it...because within a few more seconds the lock was open and he was asking for a credit card and a pat on the back. I feel very sorry for anyone forced to do business with a company that lets their employees prey on people this way. read more

HULK to the rescue! Within minutes of calling, Michael was at my home, very professional in demeanor and immediately ascertained the issue with deadbolt on my door. Replacement parts were needed and he quickly made the trip to acquire necessary items to match h my rubbed bronze hardware. He was very thorough and also helpful in showing me an important safety feature of the lock with which I was unfamiliar. On a holiday weekend he was the super hero we needed to ensure our security. Entire job completed within an hour. We are very happy and grateful for his expertise. Will definitely hire again if the need should arise. Buyer beware!! Hulk Locksmith rates are outrageous. Two years ago we had 6 locks at one of our rental houses rekeyed at a cost of $146 by a locksmith who went out of business during the Covid pandemic. We needed to have the same locks rekeyed again when a tenant recently moved out so I called Fortress Lock who quoted a reasonable price of $187 over the phone. However, they were unable to schedule a visit at a convenient time so my wife called Hulk Locksmith who was available to schedule a visit at a convenient time. She neglected to ask for a price quote but arranged for them to do the job assuming that they would charge a reasonably competitive price. We were charged the unreasonable amount of $489. I called and spoke to Michael, the owner of Hulk, to complain about the price gouging. He was very defensive and offered no apologies or concessions. He had no sense for customer satisfaction. It was an unpleasant customer service experience. Two thumbs down! If a no stars rating was available, I would have given Hulk a no star rating. read more

Please note, after several emails, Hulk refunded me enough money to get to the original estimated costs. I packed a suitcase and locked it. Almost immediately I realized I needed to move some of the things around and the lock would not open. I called Hulk Locksmith and Michael was here within an hour. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Michael came to my rescue a few weeks back when I accidentally locked my keys inside the car along with my infant (hello, sleep deprivation). My key fob on my push to start ignition wasn't detecting my key. Called on Thursday night after changing my battery in my key fob thinking it was the battery found it, it wasn't the battery. We spoke to Jay he told us at around 6:45 that he would be here in 20 mins. Time passed and we gave him a call again no answer, finally around 8:40pm he showed up. He tried multiple things as far as checking our battery and trying to reprogram his own key to our key(which didn't work it disabled our car). He reprogrammed our own key back to the car, not saying anything or telling us what it could be. Going to Monday my husband works at a dealership he took the car to get a oil change, after the oil change with the key that was reprogrammed it didn't turn the car. The car was disabled once again after jay had charged us 234 for reprogramming a key that didn't even work for our car. I called Saturday morning to talk to the lady at the office let her know what was going on she told me that she had to talk to Jay first to figure out what was going on since she wasn't there she said jay would give us a call back. Sunday passed and we still didn't hear anything back I called back on Monday afternoon only to find out that the lady at the office had marked our complaint as completed since Jay said he spoke to us, mind you at this time we still hadn't heard back from him. I told her that we still haven't heard back from him again she gave us the run around about the issue. Today Tuesday Jay finally called and spoke to my husband saying that he didn't say our key would continue working, and at this point stating that we had to get the car service. Mind you at this point it's almost been a week without our car. I called the main office and spoke to the lady spent about 20 minutes arguing with her. She still told me that I myself had to Talk to jay to tell him that it wasn't clear to us what needed to be done. As a customer calling to complain because our key doesn't work sounds like it should be dealt it with right away, as locksmith u call to ensure that your key will continue to work instead of it giving out the next day. The issue is that we paid a fee so that our key would work and we wouldn't be left without transportation. Not to have to pay another fee to have a new key made by someone else since we can't move it from the dealership Called and spoke to Jay today tried explaining to him the situation. He told me that I wasn't outside when he was with my husband trying to fix my car he bluntly called me a LIAR to my husband that i was wrong. He said he reprogrammed the key and stated that it turned on when he left. He told me that he didn't give us warranty on the key he reprogrammed but his office had told us that if we would have called them they would have came back out and fixed it for no fee. The works was done quickly basically the same day. But the charge after 3 hours of work was $970, with about $300 in parts, so $200 per hour. He waived the service charge. The work to brings up to rental code a 4 bedroom home, and new home build on 2017, to put 3 deadbolts, on exterior doors, at $120 per dead bolt plus dead bolt cost (making hole in door, etc) one peep whole, rekey 5 locks, one lock needed rebuilt because it was not smooth I expected about $650 or less, basically $120 an hour. Unless one request the same thing from another vendor, there is not way to know what is the typical charge. I still find the cost high. I will not be able to use it again, it took one month of net rent (rent minus costs) away (I own 8 homes in the area, that I rent). This type of get-to-code work is done only one time. In the past, it has costs me up to $550, but not more, for a home this size. I assume 3 starts is a fair rating for 'super quick' but 'expensive on a per hour basis'. read more

Michael called us Sunday at 11:24am and stated he would be at our place in 20mins. He arrived at 12:34pm without reason as to why he was late. We informed him on which door needed to be unlocked and he didn't give a price until after I asked him. The price given for something that he completed in less than 10mins was shocking. Especially, after the damage left on our door that wasn't covered by him. When I tried to reason with a price he then down graded other local lock smiths and stated he was a license expert, that's just the price to pay. When he realized I was writing a review, he then spoke about how his reviews are all good but tried talking me out of the writing a review. That progressed into an argument which I stated was unnecessary. Arguing with a customer is completely unacceptable. Overall, I would have really appreciated better punctuality, customer service, and possibly trying to reason with prices. read more
