We were in Half Moon Bay and found came across their stand in the Farmers Market there and it wasn't until we were driving home that I found that they are in San Leandro, which is where our office is located. Absolutely love the Lemon Pita chips with the Spicy Harissa hummus or the Roasted Red Pepper. I ended up buying 4 for $15 and a bag of chips for $19. Bargain! I am now eating the hummus with persian cucumbers (only because the chips are all gone) but so great together. If you see them you need to buy a tub or 2! read more

Found Humus Heaven at tracy farmer market. Hands down the best humus i have ever had. My husband who does not like humus even liked their cilantro and jalapeno humus. So fresh and delisious. STAY AWAY!!!! Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I purchased Hummus from them many times before. They actually have pretty decent hummus. However when I made my last purchase I put it in the fridge for 2 days to save it for 4th of July. When I opened up the container it had mold all over it. I went back to get a refund and the worker said he would not refund my purchase and, "The customer is not always right at Hummus Heaven". Buyer beware, $6 dollars is a lot to spend for moldy hummus. A crack-house looking neighborhood joint that supplies the best hummus in the east bay? Slap my butt and call me uncle. Or whatever that means. But first, can we change the name to better describe their headquarters? How about... Blue Hummus (like after "Blue Magic" from American Gangster) or... Good Pita' (Like Good Fella') or... Get Hummus or Die Dipping...ok that was pretty bad. I'll stop. But on the real tip, this place makes one of the best hummuses? hummi? I have ever tasted. Before they had this operation house on the corner of William and Doolittle, they had a hummus cart that shows up every so often. I always wanted to try their products even back then, but you know me and apathy goes together like hot dog spaghetti and Jollibee. After finally getting to try some samples from the Jack London Square farmers market, I decided to stop by one random afternoon. It doesn't really operate like a regular shop as in...it's not really "open for business". There's someone always there and they have majority of their hummus ready to sell but don't expect the door to be opened and someone to greet you at the door. When i went, the owner was pulling out of the parking lot as I was pulling in. He then, waited for me to get out of my car and asked me if I wanted to some hummus. You can replace hummus with any kind of illegal substances and it would've made total sense. Hence, my stupid jokes in the beginning about hummus and "gangster" movies. I then simply yelled out "whatcha got?!". Probably not the best thing to say; but in that moment, i deemed it fitting. He then replied "whatever you need". Which is a huge overstatement right there. All he sells is hummus, pita bread/chips, and a few other Mediterranean products How can he have everything I need? What if I wanted some daffodils for my garden, if I had one. Or organic freshly baked turtle treats for my turtle, If i had one. Back to the story, he rang the door bell and yelled out some foreign name in which my memories at that point, can't recall. Some lady came out wearing middle eastern garments and welcomed me in. The place looks like if noone gave a f#@k how their kitchen appearance and all they cared about was the products that were coming out. I then tasted about 7 different hummus before deciding on the Artichoke and Black Bean Chipotle. Overall, Artichoke was the best hummus I had and the Black Bean Chipotle just wasn't spicy enough for me. Unfortunately they ran out of the Habanero when I was there. But they told me to just hit them up next time and they'll leave some on the side for me anytime of the day. Sounds good enough for me. Nothing like picking up some hummus on the side of a shady looking house at 4am in the morning. But then again, nothing sounds as charming either. read more

I am giving this guy 1 star for one big reason, customer service!!!! I actually like the hummus but you can find great hummus at many stores. Today I was at the Daly City farmer's market, I go there every Thursday and I was with my two young children and my friend who also has two young children. Our two smallest children were both crying and we were trying to calm them down but hey that is what little ones do sometimes. The guy selling the hummus (not sure if he is the owner or what) was so incredibly rude and disrespectful to all of us particularly our children. At first my friend and I both shrugged it off and then he continued with such comments as, "you are lucky you mother loves you". I was actually a little shocked at how someone who's job is customer services was treating his customers. I just left and as we were walking away he began talking about us to other costumers! Who does that??? I was letting it go but on my way out I thought it was necessary for me to tell him that he lost my business because of the way he treated me. Much to my surprise he laid into me again about crying children screaming in his customers' ears and that he didn't care about losing my business. For starters, I have been in customer service for many years and the main thing you learn is how to treat customers with respect even when we dislike the customer. The seller could have handle this situation in a much better way than to slam me, my friend, and children in front of other customers and then continue to do so once I wasn't even at his booth. It is a shame that he will lose so much business as I like to support local companies. I belong to a large mother's club and I will absolutely be sending out an email telling them my experience with this guy at Hummus Heaven. I think this is the first review I have written on Yelp that was negative. Still shocked at how someone in customer service treats customers!!! read more

For the last year I have stopped at the Foster City Farmers market every Saturday to get some hummus and chips. The staff was always helpful and very friendly....and I like their products. Today there was somebody new at the tent. The counter was a bit disorganized and there were boxes everywhere (not a usual thing). The samples were in the ice tray, but many were uncovered. When I placed my order and took out my money to pay, my $5 bill dropped and hit the corner of a 3/4 empty olive container. The guy was pretty rude and said "technically I can make you pay for that and take it home". I was shocked. I walked away instead of getting into an argument with the guy because I had a young child with me.... First - if you don't want things falling in to your samples at a busy Farmers Market....cover your samples. Second - I was obviously a repeat customer since I knew exactly what I was ordering. Got some baba ghanouj from them at the farmers market. The guy at the stand is really unfriendly, and due to that I wont be buying from them again. If it was still Ramadan, fine I could understand the grumpitude, but its Eid dude. CHEER UP. The dip itself is ok but $6 for a bag of pita chips?? At least smile when you're charging so much. Also, I'm not really sure they keep the samples separate from the for-sale containers. I think he sold me the same container that the sample came out from when I think back to it. Plus, when I got it home, the expiration date is tomorrow. I should have been watching more closely. Hope the owners start checking their yelp ratings and fix the issues people are commenting on. Yesterday (9/10, Wednesday) I took my three little ones to Upper Haight Farmers' Market (Stanyan St & Waller St., San Francisco, CA 94117) where Hummus Heaven had a stand there. There was a mean-looking woman in the stand. One of my kids tried one kind of hummus and picked one kind of breads (Whole wheat Pita Bread), the woman took $10 from me then gave us a hummus and a bag of bread, somehow she quickly took the bread back and pulled another bag from under something and handed to me. After we got home I found out that the whole bag of bread was moldy! VERY MOLDY! Almost every piece was moldy! Judging from what she did, she did that on purpose to give me an old bag! Imagine my kids eat that?! I am very angry. I am contacting the company right now and will follow up here later. read more

These guys are the reason I go to the 50 Fremont farmer's market every Monday. They have over 15 types of hummus, two kinds of pita chips, pita bread, olives, domas, and more. They are generous with their samples and encourage you to try as many of their flavors and products as you want. I feel comfortable asking questions about the flavors, and the woman is particularly helpful and knows their products through and through. I once wanted to try a flavor that they had run out of, and she gave me the designated sample tin (essentially brand new) for free! I regularly get a bag of the Lemon & Herbs pita chips (no salt!) and one or two hummus flavors. The chips are $3-$4, and the hummus are $4-$5. The black bean and harissa is a great spicy hummus. I also like the avocado and cilantro, which is super mild, or the jalapeño and cilantro, which has a bit more flavor. I've tried the sun-dried tomato and basil too, which was delicious. Overall, it's a great value for natural, local, delicious products. Definitely check it out. read more

Tried some hummus in Half Moon Bay at the farmers market- paid $15 for two hummus and one bag of pita chips, purchased the same day I returned to Sacramento from vacation, the samples were tasty so I bought & couldn't wait to snack when I got home. WRONG.... SO disappointed and kinda pissed to find out the pita chips were old rancid and stale, like it was an open bag for months, gross. To top it off one of the two hummus I bought was missing the protective seal, gross. What a waste of money. Shame on them read more

I don't know how anyone could have a bad experience with these guys. I look forward to seeing them at the Morgan Hill Farmer's Market every Saturday morning. They are super friendly, extremely generous and their products are delicious! On top of that they will give you any 3 items for 12$ which is pretty fair. Of course hummus might be a little cheaper at a grocery store but what you gain in price, you lose in flavor and variety. Its worth an extra buck. read more

I went last week and bought the avocado cilantro flavor. It is delicious! They had a huge variety of flavors that they were sampling with pita bread I think. The container is 8oz and cost $5. I came upon this outpost at the Richmond Farmers Market. Like previous commenters noted, the customer service is deplorable. The hummus is ok, but I really enjoy the overpriced 'spread' and the chips. I won't call myself a "foodie", but I have a habit of deconstructing food to one, see if I can make it myself and two, see if I'm being overcharged. With that said, I've been befuddled by the 'spread'. I couldn't understand how 'roasted garlic' could appear so creamy and leave an oily residue. I think it's cause it mixed with mayonnaise. I'm very disappointed by this discovery. I'm not on a diet but dileberate misinformation is more than a little wack. read more

Stumbled upon this stand at my local farmers market in day city. The lady that was working the stand was very friendly and offered samples of the different flavored of Hummus to try. I sampled 3 different flavors and they were all quite tasty (original, garlic and artichoke). I ended up purchasing 2 tubs (original and garlic) and a bag of garlic flavored pita chips. I truly look forward to Sundays because I get to go to the farmers market at Fort Mason and stock up on hummus and Greek labne (yogurt). Firstly, the samples are abundant. The guys let you try every single flavor. The flavors are really unmatched in my opinion - I typically get a tomato basil hummus + two others (this week was artichoke and spicy black bean). I've completely stopped buying store-bought hummus. Though they're probably known for their hummus, their yogurt is now the only type I eat - tons of different flavors (I usually get the mango (sweetest), apricot, and coconut). Then there's the homemade pita...I usually buy the half & half or the white flour pita. Never been a big fan of hummus, at least I never craved it. That all changed when I took a trip to The Fort Mason Farmers Market. The man helping us out let us try almost every flavor they had and I was blown away! The pita bread was so fresh not only did I pick up 4 containers of hummus/spread but I stocked up on some Pita Bread. Such a healthy and delicious snack.
