All is included in the price. Very flavorful and good portion size. Now oddly they had 6 different types of lemonade (fresh) but NO brewed ice tea. The new owners have taken Hummus Republic to an entirely new level. They improved the spice ratios to a level that is better than the food I've enjoyed in the Mediterranean and Middle East. They returned the Chicken Sharma to what it should be - thigh meat that explodes with moist flavor instead of using chicken breasts. I've been there two days in a row (it's that good). Ugh/ What a waste of $50 I'm very unhappy. Will never go back. I ordered a bowl and a wrap. The number one worst part was the lemon chicken. So disgusting, had that bird taste, like metallic meat taste, foul, worse than fowl. Horrible. I picked out most of the chicken but then got to the falafel which was awful. So crunchy inside, not uniform, not tasty, hard as a rock. I feel offended by this meal. And this is supposed to be the grand 're-opening' as if they corrected previous issues. A restaurant dedicated to hummus? Yep, that's it. Well, they do have other options, but hummus is the main star in its beautiful colors and variety. When you walk in, you will be peppered with questions: 'Have you been here before?'; 'Have you seen the menu?' 'Do you have any allergies?' All good questions, but it can be overwhelming. I think once they get some regulars, the challenge would be to know who the regulars are and not ask those questions, or visually look for clues from the guests to ask those questions. I had not been here before, but I did check out the menu online. I wanted a bowl with a base of spinach. There are other options, but like Popeye, I want my spinach. You can then pick and choose different types of hummus. I picked traditional and the Harissa hummus. The Harissa has some heat, but it was not spicy for me. I chose the mushroom shawarma. Then comes the toppings. Wow. There are a lot. Hummus Republic is a fast growing chain of casual "Chipotle Style" Mediterranean restaurants. They offer a lots of choices for vegetarians and vegans too. You order a wrap, a pita, or a bowl and then go "Chipotle Style) down the line picking what you want. They also offer many interesting sounding soft beverages. We both tried bowls. You start out by picking a base. I picked mixed greens and the person working there suggested adding some couscous and chickpeas. He said it would come out much better that way. For my protein I picked the lemon chicken. It was better than I expected it to be. It was moist and flavorful. They have 6 kinds of hummus and you can pick up to three so I picked regular hummus, eggplant hummus, and harissa hummus. After that you can add fried chickpeas or fried mixed bowl and after that are all the vegetable add ons and sauces. We also ordered the falafels. The falafels do have shattering crisp exteriors but are not fluffy and have moist interiors. You have to order tahini sauce if you want that for the falafels. The Moroccan steak had a good flavor but isn't as moist and tender as the lemon chicken. I'm not sure why but they charged my husband for double protein? They also charge you $3 if you grab the wrong cup for water so make sure you ask for the water cup and be sure to check your receipt. read more
