Found this hidden gem thanks to my new favorite app, Too Good To Go! I went in for my surprise bag and ended up walking out with not one, but TWO meals (because clearly, self-control left the chat). The food was so fresh and flavorful -- the kind that makes you do a little happy dance in your car before you even drive off. And that dragonfruit lemonade? Obsessed. Bright, tangy, and way too pretty not to post. The staff was super sweet, and everything felt made with love. I'm officially adding this spot to my "repeat offender" list. Hummus Way, you've got me hooked -- and yes, I'm already planning my next Too Good To Go

First time trying this place and it was a solid experience overall. There was only one person working and she looked pretty busy, so while my online order was ready on time, you may need to wait a bit if you're ordering at the counter. The store itself is pretty small with minimal customer service, but the food was fresh and good with nothing to complain about. Looking forward to trying some of the other dishes next time.

First time at this location. My coworkers and I have been to the one in Santa Ana. This is probably the last time we will dine here since it's not close to our office and we only had to come here to meet a friend. It felt pretty lifeless inside. When we arrived, there was one person eating there and only one person working, and there were six of us so it took a long time to put together our orders. There's a self order kiosk there as well. Maybe they should install a speaker and play some music. Unfortunately, I was not pleased with my chicken bowl. Everything tasted the same with the sauce slathered all over. I didn't enjoy the texture of the chicken and the rice was bland. Flavor was severely lacking. My friend got a piece of baklava for dessert and she was very disappointed. She said it tasted old and she threw it out. The young girl working was nice and she was trying hard, but it was difficult for her to do it all on her own.

Very attentive service and the food was very good. Create Your Own Bowl offered great choice of proteins, rice, greens, spreads, toppings and sauces. The Morrocan Hot Sauce has good flavor and kick. Don't forget to add zatar spices and fried chickpeas. Next time, I'll consider adding the falafel to my order.

Before I start, just wanted to say that the workers are helpful and the inside was clean! When you walk in, it's set up like a DIY station. First you choose rice or greens, protein, hummus, and toppings as you go down the line. I chose the turmeric and lemon chicken shawarma and added hummus and lemon + artichoke hummus with various toppings. Flavor wise.. some of the flavors fell flat especially with the dry shawarma and garlic sauce. Pita was nice and fluffy at least! This place is popular for a reason but it didn't hit the mark for me.

When we are in the mood for Mediterranean food, we usually order kebab combos from one of two places but we decided to DoorDash something different this time. After seeing some favorable mentions about Hummus Way in other reviews, we decided to give it a try. I wasn't sure what to order at first since there are no kebabs on the menu but instead you create your own bowl, wrap, loaded wedges, or open face pita. There are a ton of options and it was a little overwhelming since I didn't want a huge bowl with 20 things in it, but I didn't want a small bowl with only a few things in it either. I ended up ordering a bowl with white garlic sauce, traditional hummus, tzatziki, zesty feta, rice, tri tip beef shawarma , tabbouleh, and pickled cucumbers. My girlfriend ordered a wrap with traditional tahini, Zhoug falafels, traditional hummus, zesty feta, wheat, crumbled feta, beets, sumac onions, crispy garbanzo croutons, and kalamata olives. We also ordered a side of the crispy fried zucchini with garlic sauce. The restaurant is only about ten minutes away from home and our DoorDash order arrived nice and quick in under 30 minutes. The crispy fried zucchini were really good and the coating had really nice flavor. The pictures of this appetizer show zucchini spears but we were happy when zucchini slices arrived since spears can get very oily and the coating usually falls off easily. The garlic sauce also had a good flavor with little to no spiciness. Unfortunately, my bowl was somewhat disappointing. The pita bread and pickled cucumbers were good and I love basmati rice but this rice was just ok. The tri tip beef shawarma was dry. The traditional hummus was not creamy at all, and had a very firm texture like I've never had before but it tasted ok. I always look forward to trying the tabbouleh at a new place to see if it comes anywhere close to my gold standard tabbouleh at Zenas. This was the most dry tabbouleh I've ever had and it had very little flavor so I only had a few bites. My girlfriend said the wrap was ok but I didn't get any additional details. It is always nice to try new places. Not every place is going to be four or five stars.

I got an open faced pita with fresh, wholesome and delicious toppings. It was so good and filling! I love the sauces, different types of hummus, fresh veggies, and ways to customize the order. I got the chicken and my fiancé got the beef and both were tasty. Next time, we want to try the falafel and dolmades. Literally one of the best salads I have ever had! This is just a small little place in a strip mall, but they make you whatever you want! Sameer the owner is the sweetest guy too! I love this place so much!! The chicken is moist and well seasoned. Portion sizes are large so you get a lot for the price and everything is fresh. The employees are absolutely wonderful as well. This place is amazing! I was a little cautious because it just had opened up and it was in the middle of this pandemic but I was more than pleased with my food and the customer service. I had called to place an order for dinner and the phone lines were busy and I thought I would never hear back from them...but the lovely gentleman who works the front called me back and apologized and took my order swiftly and my food was ready in five minutes!!! The restaurant is very clean and organized, and was following all COVID protocols (gloves, mask, distancing etc). The food is so flavorful, fresh, delicious and such a great bang for your buck. My husband and I have been talking about trying Hummus way for a few weeks now. Last night we tried it for the first time and we're still talking about it this morning! IT WAS SO GOOD ! We both must of said 100 times last night how great our food was. My husband picked up the food and said the gentleman at the restaurant was incredibly kind and the place was really nice and clean! He couldn't get over the kind service and experience even before he tried the food. My husband got the open faced pita with chicken and I got the bowl. So many flavorful topping choices and the chicken was so tender , not dry whatsoever and everything tasted so fresh. They only thing I'm disappointed in was that we haven't tried this restaurant sooner. We will definitely be back. Glad we could also support a small business during this quarantine . read more

What can I say? This review is long overdue!! Sameer has a good thing going here. Fresh ingredients and plenty to choose from. My favorite is the garlic jalapeño wrap. I am sure everything else is good, but this is SOOO amazing, that I have yet to try anything else. The chicken is juicy and delicious, and of course, full of flavor! The wrap is always made fresh to order and usually too big to wrap, but super easy to eat every last bite. Despite it being a generous portion, you are not left feeling yucky after eating the whole thing!! Sameer is so personable and has THE best customer service and super helpful in making suggestions. We have been here 3-4 times already in 2 weeks and not stopping anytime soon! read more

So happy this place is walking distance to Riverbend. The owner is so courteous. The rice, meat and toppings are great. Love the tzatziki. When we orders vegan for a friend they pulled the falafel fresh from the kitchen. Just walk over instead of postmates or grub hub that take money from the business. read more

Sameer is the sweetest, kindest most hardworking gentleman i've had the pleasure of getting food from. the hummus was out of this world delicious and i got my falafel fix. It's people like him that make this country a beautiful tapestry of interconnected individuals sharing cultures and starting small business that create the different colors in the kaleidoscope of california. I'm writing this mere moments after taking the last bite of my bowl. Heaven is an understatement. As a vegetarian we're usually limited to falafel when it comes to a protein source in Mediterranean food. While I cannot wait to try their falafel next, let me tell you that the mushroom shawarma was out of this world delicious. My husband and I both had it over the potato wedges that were perfectly seasoned and paired beautifully with the chewy shiitake mushrooms. All of the toppings were phenomenal as well. The young gentleman was super friendly and helpful with any questions we had and explained the whole process as soon as we came in and was super patient and efficient. I don't really write yelp review but I feel hummus way deserves the extra love and am so happy they're so close to home! read more

I was really disappointed in this place. The photos make the food look really great and I was excited to give this place a try however it just missed the mark for me and my husband. We both ordered the chicken shawarma bowls and the chicken was inedible salty!!! The seasoning was not at all Mediterranean-like just salt salt salt and pepper. The texture of the chicken was really off as well. They should not call it shawarma because it is absolutely misleading. It was oddly textured chunks of chicken. Not at all what shawarma is! We have no desire to go back. read more

Just went here for the first time and it was phenomenal. Got a lemon and turmeric chicken bowl with a pineapple coconut lemonade. The guy working was super nice and let me sample a lemonade before I bought it because there are 4 flavors and I couldn't decide! What a nice surprise! Didn't expect such a a good meal. The chef has a fusion approach of hummus and different middle eastern/ Moroccan cuisine. Everything is fresh, no frozen food. Light. I will come more often to this area just to eat here. I highly recommend it. read more

It's good for the area. Rent must be high there though because it's not cheap. Could be the most expensive Med food in the area. A lot of restaurants have gone up noticeably so the Covid price increase is real. This is one. I'll go to the other local Med restaurants and get the same food for less though. read more

The five stars rating is well deserved. I am always very skeptical of places with five stars bu this place did not disappoint. Food and service was excellent! The business set up is simple and clean. However, it is perfect for either a casual dine in experience or a quick take out order. The food selection is awesome. My wife and I ordered two very meals but both were tasty and delicious! I love this place! The portion sizes for the price are insane and best of all the food tastes amazing. Sahreem sets the gold standard for outstanding customer service. We were in the area and yelped this location. Looked like a Mediterranean Chipotle and thought we would give it a try. Glad we did ! Super friendly staff who explained everything and recommended his personal faves. Food was super start and delish ! Nice size portions and the flavors of everything were truly great ! Cucumber Yoghurt Salad- Creamy and light with crunchy cucumber pieces. It has a lovely herby finish. Great experience overall!

Hummus Way Oh man, I was really blown away by where this place is located--kind of hidden in the suburbs, but a real gem. My partner and I found it refreshing that they were open on Sunday, according to the sign outside, and it was a new discovery for us. When we arrived, there was a couple in front of us. Based on their questions, they didn't seem like locals, which isn't a problem, but I did notice the server seemed to be taking extra time with them. At first, I was a little concerned but then thought, "Oh my God, maybe we'll get this level of attentiveness too!" This is a family-run place, so I was excited. However, when it was our turn, the experience felt rushed. We appreciate efficiency, but the food was absolutely amazing--out of this world. The options were unique and beautiful, and the server was kind, but there was a noticeable difference in how we were treated compared to the family in front of us. They seemed to be given special treatment, which raised concerns about whether our race or the way we looked was a factor in how we were treated. As consumers, we believe that everyone should receive equal treatment, and it made us uncomfortable to think that our appearance or background might have influenced the service. That said, this place is still a hidden gem, super clean, and committed to great ingredients. We still rate it 5 out of 5, but I hope they'll be mindful of the way all customers are treated. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted warmly by the owner, who was very welcoming and helpful. They even offered us some samples to try, which was a nice touch. We ordered two bowls and a lemonade, but unfortunately, the experience did not meet our expectations. The portion sizes were quite small, and there was very little chicken in the bowls. For the price we paid, we felt that the value was lacking, as there are other places that offer larger portions and better quality food at a similar price point. Additionally, the food appeared to be pre-cooked, and we weren't sure how long it had been sitting there, which raised concerns about freshness. The homlemonade, which seemed to consist mainly of coloring and sugar, was priced at $5.75 plus tax, which we also found to be overpriced. I cannot express how thankful I am for Hummus Way. I am allergic to wheat, dairy, and soy, so trying new restaurants is a really stressful experience for me. However, when I walked into Hummus Way and said my allergies, instead of the usual "what's soy" question, Sameer knew exactly what foods I could eat, and what was in everything. He was also very funny and nice; I was there with two others and he was making us all laugh. This was the first non stressful (and purely enjoyable) experience I've ever had at a new restaurant ever. I've been coming for a few years now, and I've celebrated two birthdays at Hummus Way! The service and food is always fantastic. I would give 10 stars if I could. read more

The food was incredible and will be in regular rotation for me and my girlfriend. The garlic sauce that comes with the zucchinis would be good on everything so get on that and get extra. The staff/owners were so kind, warm, and generous. Truly great experience all around. My gf and I both got the open face pita with falafel. Everything we added to the pita was amazing and the zesty feta was a big stand out. Highly recommend the Moroccan hot sauce on the side. We also shared an order of the fried zucchini's and those had us both making some strange noises of pleasure. Again, that garlic sauce could turn a turd into a 5 star dish. read more
