It is a bit on the pricier side, especially considering it's not AYCE like most shabu spots. Their prices have gone up recently, and they also charge extra for different broth flavors. That being said, I think the meat quality is unbeatable, and their broth is one of the best I've had. Do I wish the servings came with more mushrooms and udon noodles? Absolutely! This location is in a really busy shopping center so don't be surprised if you're hunting for parking for a hot minute. Despite the parking situation this Mokkoji location is small but well spaced out, We were seated in the center most area and still had ample space and the environment was inviting and very clean! The service was polite and very quick. They were busy and that didn't not keep them from bringing out food out in a timely manner. The food was fresh and delicious I really enjoyed my torro and the miso base soup, I also like the variety of additional sauce they provide without having to ask for them. The meat is perfectly marinated, has good amount of meat to fat ratio. If you're coming with a partner or friend, the 32 pieces is plenty for two people. You will be full! The dipping sauces and sides are a great addition to eat with your meat as well as dip. The garlic and sesame sauces are addictive, I find myself dunking it in both sauces because it complements the beef and veggies so well. When it comes to finishes with noodles, I highly recommend getting the ramyeon. In my opinion, it's so much better than udon. My wife dragged me here and I wasn't sure what to expect. I have about five restaurants I like to frequent and anything else always feels like I'm in a third world. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Definitely take their recommendations, they know what's good. We went Friday night and our reservation was for 630. We walked right in and got a table. They have a long bar in the middle, with some tables that seat four on the left side. They have size portions that are S, M, and L, but there's also a "SH" which means sharing. When asking for the meat, they'll ask if you want marinated, which you should say "YES" because it's delicious. If you like spicy, they'll come around asking if you'd like some drops. I came here on a Sunday evening and it wasn't packed at all. Maybe 2 other tables besides up. I usually go to the Garden Grove location but this location was on the way. We got the dinner for 2 with the beef sampler. I got the spicy pork bone broth and my friend got the fire crab. Both broths were flavorful. The meat and veggies were nicely displayed and the servers came around often to check up on us. The restaurant was clean and I liked the chic decor. Towards the end of the night, however, the servers were nonexistent. When we asked for more broth, the server said they have already closed the kitchen without any notice. They gave us the check and we never heard from them again. We even had to go to the back kitchen to ask for take out containers for our leftovers. And they never gave us the dessert that is part of the dinner set. Since the service was so bad, we didn't even notice until we've left. We walked in and there was only one other table that had guests yet the front desk girl was too busy gossiping and chatting with the girl who was obviously her friend to even notice us. When it came time for our order she still had the stank azz attitude for no reason. Wife and I have been to the Irvine and Garden Grove locations and this was our second time at the Orange one. They ALL provide a consistent experience and of course exceptional food as well! I stopped in last night for dinner since it's been awhile. We ordered their usual toro fatty belly, which as a beef belly enjoyer, is by far THE BEST slice of meat they offer. However, my wife and I never noticed they offered a shareable portion which is ENORMOUS. Literally maybe half way through our meal it looked like we didn't even put a dent in it. I wasn't shy about digging in either! Service was excellent too! One of the girls said the most hot drops they've seen was 15, so naturally I asked for 16. But then at the end of our meal, it turns out someone else has done 20!!! I'll be back to do 21. And for those curious, 16 was tolerable, like the perfect amount of hurt.
