DO NOT EAT HERE!!! Their food for dinner is still the lunch food that has been left out for hours! Listen to the other one stars there is nothing good about this place at all. We were so hungry when we came here that we ate the fried rice and orange chicken, we noticed it was old and cold and decided to give it a try anyways, immediately regret it. My husband and I are at home THROWING UP 30 minutes later now! You have a high chance of getting sick by eating here because there is nothing safe about leaving food out for that many hours, this place needs to get shut down asap!! Had dinner here last week and it really wasn't good. I was so disappointed. The fried foods were definitely left over from the lunch rush since they were cold and hard. Also, you could tell some of the fried foods had been refried because they were overcooked and dark brown. The wonton soup didn't have any wontons. Even if this place is on the opposite side of town from where I live, this is the buffet I'll want to come get my Chinese food cravings subdued. The dumplings were meaty, the grilled pork skewers were tender and seasoned very well, the sweet sticky pork ribs were on point, the crispy fried shrimp were perfectly fried, the egg rolls, noodles, pepper steak etc. EVERYTHING was so enjoyable. Not worth it! DEFINITELY not worth the priceI felt so bad at this place because everything I grabbed was just not good and I kept having to throw stuff out! We came around 4:15 pm today. We were greeted and seated right away. We ordered our drinks right away. But then it happened. We went to the buffet to eat and couldn't believe how old and dry the fried rice was. We ignored it and got noodles instead. Then we went down the buffet to see that all the food out appeared to be sitting out for a while. We tried it anyway and immediately regretted it. The food on our plate was not only old but was cold. My wife and I were very hungry so we put our plates to the side to be picked up and watched the buffet for food changes. Everything on the buffet line was from lunch and we stayed there almost 30 minutes to watch the only food that was changed out was Pizza and Soup. Everything was left over cold food from hours ago during lunch but now it's dinner and you want to charge me more for the exact same old food!!!!!!!!! Never again!!!!!! I actually think I am starting to get the squirts from that little bit of food I ate. They deserve to go out of business and ZERO stars. I've been meeting people here for years to eat lunch, but I will never be back. Could you make me think you care less about us, imagine what's happening in the back! By way of suggestion, wanted to try a new experience during my lunch break today. Unfortunately, this did not turn out to be a fairy tale ending... The overall appearance of this establishment carries a high rating, along with the friendly staff. The buffet offered a very clean appearance, with a clear view of fresh, warm edibles. Since I am a vegetarian/pescatarian, I opted for the Sweet & Sour Shrimp. The Shrimp was way too bready, leading me on a high speed chase for the actual shrimp hidden inside. the Fried batter was old and extremely oily to the touch. And lastly, the shrimp carried an overall 'fishy' taste. Because of the Kind Staff waiting to greet me at the front counter, and allowing me venture throughout the restaurant, I will give this establishment an overall 3-rating. read more

I'm only giving this place a one star because the food was acceptable, nothing special. Im really frustrated that they charge me for my baby's.. my daughter and son aren't even one year old and they only had a piece of cantaloupe and some noodles and i got charged for them as kids. I have never gone to a buffet that charges for baby's under the age of two... when i went to ask about being charged for my baby's the lady responded "well baby's eat too".. I responded they only had fruit and some noodles and she said it did not matter per policy we charged any age children. read more

I have driven by this place all the time and a little apprehensive because I do not like buffets . I use to go to a few other places but price went up and the amount of food decreasing I decided to try and realized I can order off the menu . We ordered General Joes chicken , pork fried rice and egg rolls .. they also gave us some steamed vegetables. The food was AMAZING, portions were great and price was right. It was very flavorful!! ... we will be back . Also while I was waiting for my food I looked at the buffet and it looked really really good .. So happy to find this place .. thank you !!!! read more

The price for lunch today was $9.95 plus tax (Weekday price). The food was what you'd expect at a budget Asian-style buffet. The only food I didn't really care for was the pork, as it had a sweet and somewhat off-putting taste (but the meat itself didn't taste bad). But, I'm sure other patrons liked it. Anyhow, there is a decent spread of food, but most of it tastes average. Which, for $9.95 per person, didn't come as a big surprise. What happens to this place? I used to love it and the one on 59. The fried shrimp was a tiny sliver of shrimp and tons of breading. Dumplings were dry. Mongolian pork was tough and inedible. Egg foo yung was tasteless. Cold boiled shrimp were old and the shell would not come off of it. Singapore noodles were OK. Sushi was ok. For a buffet, this place is pretty solid. It's obviously extremely popular, as there was a bit of a wait for a table at lunchtime. However, they took care of us and were thoughtful enough to put us in a quiet corner since we had a baby. The buffet offers a large amount of choices, which I had a little bit of almost everything. I enjoyed practically all of it! Service is excellent--now how can there be service at a buffet, you ask? Drinks are refilled consistently and plates are taken away the second you set it aside. The server asked us if he could get us anything, made good suggestions, wasn't in our way, and brought everything we asked for. The staff is really all very nice and accommodating. Loved the ice cream station, but their cream puffs are dry, dry, dry. But who really cares about dessert after stuffing their faces with unlimited quantities of hot, salty, fried food? Well, me! If only I could give 0 stars! What a rip-off! Went in with a larger party to celebrate a birthday. As we were walking to the table, I informed the lady (acting in the capacity of a hostess) that my child and I would be on our own ticket. She asked which child was mine (there was another child and my child- both are 9 btw) I distinguished which one was my child to be placed on my check. She said that my child would be charged an adult price due to her height. I didn't believe that I heard her right, so to clarify, I asked why she would be charged as an adult- the kids are the same age. She said child price is calculated by height- and she brings the whole party back to the front and shows two prices 5.95 and 3.95. The other child with us is only 3 inches shorter than my child and was given a 9.95 price (where does that come from? That wasn't listed on the "height chart" they have in the front. Lol really pissed me off so I left. I told the lady I was leaving and provided my reasons. I don't really like buffets anyways and I wasn't sure hungry lol so no loss to me. Just thought I would share my experience because I have never heard about height distinguishing a price for a buffet. read more

First time at Hunan Chef, it was extremely clean and the tables were distanced, I was briefed on all of the ways they were being considerate of their customers health. I went for the buffet, they created the plates for us themselves, the food was all delicious, I think my favorites were the string beans, the pepper steak, and the egg rolls, but again it was all delicious. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful, they made us feel special! Even the fortune in the fortune cookie made me happy. Apparently those reviewers are getting the left overs from prime time dining. The place is packed at lunch with good reason, so go early. Big variety of both protein and veggies. Four types of soup, chicken drop is my favorite. Large variety to chose from, including salad bar with boiled shrimp and cold spring rolls. The have a sushi bar with several offerings, I've only tried a few but no my favorite. Several chicken dishes are offered: Sesame, General Tao, Teriyaki, Hot Wings, Fired Wings, and more. Your best bet is an early lunch or dinner for the freshest and best options. read more

Horrible food, we found multiple long curly hairs in different dishes. When complaining the female manager was extremely unprofessional, rude, and never apologized. Just said people always say they found hair so they can get a free meal. Which told us that people OFTEN find hair there. No Stars isn't possible or I would've give exactly that! read more
