The woman here gave me the worst customer service! Dirty look because she had to clear a table so I could eat in not take out, Asked for hot sauce she said I asked you at the beginning of your meal and you said no! Really!! the food was not bad but the woman here is so rude! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They were also arguing in the kitchen very loud I cannot enjoy my food[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will never eat here again this was the worst customer service ever!

Came back here after many years for some take out and I became an instant fan. During covid times "take out" is beyond necessary and to find a spot that continues to deliver amazing food at a responsible price is EVERYTHING. I only wish I had given them another try sooner. Great Chinese food in Camarillo with a large menu, friendly service, awesome lunch prices, and delicious food. Their lunch specials run around $12-15 a person and they are well worth it. Lunch specials come with your entree, rice, and soup. Aside from the tasty food and reasonable prices, they bang out the food quick here! Makes for a perfect quick lunch spot or when your in a rush with hungry family members at home, I know this spot can get the food prepared in no time. When I order in person or over the phone I swear the food is always ready in 10-15 minutes. So convenient! For lunch I've tried the Mongolian beef, shrimp with lobster sauce, and sweet & sour chicken. All of the food here is fresh & delicious, I'd highly recommend giving this spot a try. Service has always been friendly and my order is always packaged correctly and securely for your travel back home. Please support this local business.

It felt like going into someone's house. Very cozy place and food came out quickly. I usually rely on Yelp photos because I'm not very familiar with the dishes, so I like to see what I may order. Susan was so sweet and while we decided what to eat, she pulled my daughter aside and drew her picture. It was so quick and she's so talented. I appreciated the detail. Husband ordered combination chow fun, I ordered fried pork and then we got the steamed dumplings with pork. Everything was so delicious and fresh. Beware that portions are big. We had half leftovers to take home, even though we were starving when we got there. Service really top notch. Will be back again!

I use to love this restaurant because the of kind service and great quality food. The lady there was always accommodating and nice (pre pandemic). I was so excited to hear they reopened for dine in options in May 2021, so decided to go for a lunch special. I will not go back. The lady was rude and kept letting me know how much she does not like dine in and prefers takeout. Rather than just mention it once and let it go, she made sure I was aware of her stance my entire meal. It was uncomfortable and I noticed her doing this to the other 2 parties dining in. She kept taking her mask on and off and was complaining about everything. My food came out without 2 minutes of me ordering it and I am pretty positive it was microwaved leftovers. The food was piping hot (way hotter than something from a stove top) and seemed to be microwaved to the point that the chicken was rubbery and too hot to eat. It was not fresh. If you ask for anything (a drink, napkin, to go box), she will let you know that those items cost her money and if I did a to go order, they wouldn't cost her. She also let me know that she had to pay for a dishwasher so I could sit and eat in the restaurant. Being that the prices have gone up and you now have to pay for water (bottled only) and tea ($4 a pot), I am in a way paying for those "extra" services. I was really disappointed in her attitude and the food. I wanted to support her business (I pick one local restaurant a week to support) and felt like I was inconveniencing her by paying her to eat at her establishment. It's too bad because I use to love going here for her kindness and the food quality. There's too many other places I can support that will treat me with some common decency.

When I walked in, the woman in the front was actually calling me at that moment to let me know our order was ready. The third entree definitely wasn't necessary for just two people we now have leftovers for at least three days. The food was hot, ready when expected, packaged nicely, and delicious! We're so satisfied with this and will definitely be getting the meal for 2 again. I am seriously so surprised at how much they pack food into these containers! I politely asked if I could have rolls ,or salad instead. The staff member responded very rudely, saying, "The soup is complimentary. If you don't want the soup,it is your problem . We can't instead of soup give you rolls or salad." For me it sounds like "Take it or leave it." It wasn't about the soup--it was about the attitude and customer service. A little understanding and kindness would have gone a long way. Instead, I felt like my reasonable request was dismissed without any concern. I hope the management reads this review and realizes that the way customers are treated is just as important as the food.

The portions are generous, everything is super flavorful, and it really feels like an authentic Chinese restaurant experience. The ambience is great and you truly get a real taste of Asian cuisine. The restaurant itself is more high-end for Chinese and it's beautiful. It can be a bit pricey depending on what you order, but in my opinion it is completely worth it. Easily one of my favorite Chinese restaurants, if not the top one.

Sesame Inn was owned for a long time by Jennifer and Paul, but went through two changes of ownership once they retired. A new couple, Ling and Shao Yung, now own Sesame Inn, and have kept the original recipes. The restaurant is currently carry-out only. Ling handles the phone and Shao Yung runs the kitchen. They're delightful! We've ordered most things on the menu (including the "secret" menu), but keep gravitating towards our favorites. The shop has a few small tables situated, but found the floors dirty in multiple places and the overall smell was just not pleasant for such a small place. The table service was handled by an older woman, who may have been the manager. She was rude and curt towards us. When we were finished with our small bowl of the Asian style crunchy noodles and smaller bowl of duck sauce, we asked for more, and she informed us that we would have to buy a bag of noodles for $7 dollars. This is after we were seated and ordered our dinner. The orange chicken was over-fried and lacked taste, while my sweet and pungent shrimp was super soggy, almost relying on the sauce to act as the seasoning. Our pot stickers were ok .. but not great. They also had little to no flavour / seasoning .. and were dried out .. possibly over cooked, as well. I'm unsure if new management acquired this business, but it was not this way a few months ago. Seems like this place is beginning to penny pinch on the small things to save/make a few extra bucks. I so hope this place improves or turns around as I will check in now and again for good news! Thanks !

No biggie - patience is the calm acceptance that things can happen in a different order than the one you had in mind. I had to write a review because I knew one particular person was going to tarnish them because they didn't have that patience. As I suspected, he did. See the other review entry for today. It's definitely him. Let me share with you the chain of events I witnessed that allowed me to connect the dots so I can likely assume was him. With us other patrons waiting so patiently, because again, the manager was sharing with us how they were looking and was super apologetic. One can only tell you 10-15 mins but hey I knew I wasn't the only one there. Except for this guy who believed he was the only patron and should have been waited on hand and foot. He says 45 mins. I call BS. I was there. At the end of it all, he and his party walked out because 10-15 mins in a restaurant with patrons eating in and taking out was "too long." Thank goodness. Plus his attitude to some of the patrons was gross. The cherry on top was he was honking his horn to Mandarin Bistro for some reason as he was driving away. Um ok?
