It's very hard to find a traditional Chinese American restaurant, but we're glad we found this one.they have all your favorite dishes. Fresh ingredients with great taste and served hot. Terrible service. We went for dinner on a Friday night and there was only one other group (2 people) in the dining area. We had to get the attention of the cashier in order to get a seat and then we had to wait another ten minutes before a server came to our table. When the server did come, she seemed to not have a full knowledge of the menu and she seemed impatient. For a Chinese food restaurant, I am used to a table full of condiments such as chili sauce, soy sauce, and duck sauce. The only hot sauce that was available was pre-packaged plastic packs. I had to go to the cashier to get a refill of our beverages, our food was mild in flavor, at best, and again, the service was terrible. There were only two types of vegetables in each of our meals, carrots and broccoli - no onions or peppers. We ordered orange chicken, Hunan shrimp, and pork in garlic sauce. The Hunan shrimp and pork in garlic sauce tasted exactly the same and the orange chicken had more flour batter than chicken. I doubt very much if we will have dinner there again. read more

Prices on wedsite not the actual price. Up charges you at the door. In Chester there aren't many of any that delivers to harrowgate Rd and this one does. Good food. Warm when delivered. Size per option is well. The reason it's not 4 or even 3 stars is due to their shady actions. I ordered once on the phone and the price wasn't bad then I found going online t o be easier because I can see the price per item little did I know the prices on the website is wrong and they up charged me 10 dollars. When they got to the door and the driver called the shop the owner didn't say sorry or try and correct it he goes "we can just take the food back. Do you not want the food" like he didn't care that it was wrong. Due to me moving I won't call the better business buroe due to false advertising I'll just warn yall here. read more

Always dependable are their: Hot and Sour Soup, Egg Drop Soup, Chicken Wings (are perfection), Shrimp Toast (my guilty pleasure), Beef and Broccoli, General Tso's Shrimp, Egg Foo Young with Pork (my personal favorite), Beef with Garlic Sauce, Shrimp with Garlic Sauce, Chicken with Garlic Sauce, Beef Lo Mein, Chicken Lo Mein. Hunan Garden is a true gem of a family run Asian restaurant. Simple in appearance, wooden tables and chairs, white table cloth. Big table near the kitchen seems reserved for the younger members of the family quietly focused on their schoolwork, or perhaps a senior member reading their Asian newspaper. It all makes for a lovely setting. A full menu offers many beef, chicken and shrimp entrees. I like the combination meals offered. Chicken with garlic sauce is my favorite, coming with steamed rice, a spring roll, and to start things a delicious cup of hot & sour soup. Everything is tasty. I also recently tried their Crispy Shrimp and it was so good! They give you plenty so come hungry. This is a no frills restaurant run by good people offering fresh, tasty food. Fist time here: The pork fried rice was tasteless with long strips of under cooked pork. Chicken wings were also under seasoned. Spare ribs were fatty at the tips and also not much flavor. This was our first and last time ordering from here. Food was delivered very quickly..... But the taste was just not worth the price. We paid over $40 for our meal, including a $3 tip. Not the drivers fault the food was sub par. The egg rolls were bland.... My daughter, Who did not know I had ordered from a different place wanted to know what was wrong with the Egg Rolls. Not much flavor. She ate it.... But said.... Yuck! I had the cream cheese filled fried Won Tons.... Excellent! Best part of the meal. My husband had the Hunan Shrimp with Fried Rice..... Shrimp over cooked.... Like rubber. The rest was not so bad. I had the garlic scallops and Shrimp over fried rice....terrible. Scallops were suspiciously all the same size and shape.... Possibly frozen or even not even scallops at all. Shrimp..... Again.... Overcooked and like rubber.... My cat just batted it around without eating it.... Need I say more? Won Ton Soup..... Pretty good, but feeling sick to my stomach by the time I dumped them down the garbage disposal. We normally always use Lin's Garden. Great food... Much cheaper and super fast delivery. I love ordering form here even for dinner! You cannot eat an entire combo meal with its soup and egg roll sides. They are never any longer than 30 minutes or so on their delivery. One suggestion: the hot and sour soup is a little oily, but certainly on of the best I have had anyway. read more

Definitely an above average Chinese restaurant! I ordered the combination fried rice and added an egg role. The fried rice was delicious-not too greasy-with a good ratio of rice, veggies, and proteins. The egg role was a hearty size and served hot and fresh. Loved the sweet tea too. Best Chinese I've ever had. General Tso's chicken is crispy, fresh and the sauce is perfect. I've tried other things on the menu and they're all just as good. I've never eaten in, I've only gotten carry out but the inside of the restaurant is nice. White tablecloths and things. People who work there are super nice. Never going anywhere else for Chinese again. By far beats PF Changs and Peking any day. read more

My family and I are new to the area and have only ordered once but so far so good! The reviews in Google were pretty good so if all the Chinese delivery places in he area we decided Hunan Garden would be the first we'd try. Delivery was prompt and the driver was nice. The food quantity to price ratio was excellent as well. Id recommend going with onof their combinations. the egg roll is nicely sized with a good soup portion which includes the fried noodles at no extra cost. The fried rice and entree are great as well. The sweet and sour chicken comes on a bed of what seemed to be fresh veggies! While the beef with garlic sauce didn't skimpy on the serving of beef! I've known sonera oars to flood the plate with veggies leaving you with only a few pieces of beef. The crab Rangoon could be better but its still delicious! Even though this is the first Chinese delivery we've tried in this area, i think we'll be return customers. read more

I usually call in my orders and I typically order General Tso's chicken, extra spicy. Great flavor to this dish. I've also had their beef with peppers and onions which is another great tasting dish. They strive to meet your food needs with special request to add or change standard item in their dishes!!! Two nights ago I ordered takeout at 9 pm and was ready upon arriving.
