I ordered the lunch special sweet and sour chicken with fried rice and eggroll. Mine came out great and ample. Albeit I've never seen fried rice without egg and veggies in it. Still not bad. My wife order teriyaki chicken with steamed rice and egg roll. Unfortunately, her chicken came out tough and not at all quality food. I got our servers attention and they offered my wife a choice of something different. So she asked for what I had. It came out quick and was the whole meal instead of just the meat. Under new management! It's recently reopen with brand new menu. Nice atmosphere and kids friendly. They have the most authentic Taiwanese beef noodle soup in the area. Tried their today's specials spicy won ton in hot oil and they are delicious! If you like spicy food, you need to try them all out! My kids love won ton soup as well. Went on a slow Tuesday with my partner as restaurant had just opened. Reasonably clean with authentic Asian restaurant vibe. Service staff was friendly. Ordered individual plates of Mongolian beef and House lo mein with variety of proteins. The Mongolian beef consisted of small sliced beef that was tender with a ton of sliced onion and bamboo shoots. It gave off an off putting vinegary aroma which was not expected and made the dish sour. In addition the dish had a heavy hoisin taste. Needless to say this was not our favorite dish. The "fried rice" was browned, but had no taste and definitely had the taste of day old rice. The Lo Mein was ok, but lacked any seasoning to indicate it was an Asian dish. Heard it was under new management/owners and friends said it was good. My son and I went for lunch on Saturday, just after noon. We were the only customers in the restaurant, but they had a lot of take out orders. We ordered the Poo-Poo platter (assorted appetizers) and we enjoyed everything but the chicken teriyaki on the stick. They didn't really have a flavor and were more like jerky. I was honestly a bit surprised when I pulled up to pick it up as the window was broken and there was cardboard over another window. I wasn't sure if I was in the right place. When I went in, I was surprised as it was very nice inside. There was a very nice older woman working behind the counter. The food was decent and we would probably get it again for lunch special. I had burned the dinner I was going to serve and was desperate for something that wasn't a drive thru. I grabbed my menu and called in. The girl who answered the phone was very sweet and took her time with me. The first question I had was how long would it take for my delivery to arrive that way I could let my starving family know how much time it would take. After she let me know it would take 30 minutes I proceeded to give my order, I knew exactly what I wanted but asked her one last question of what she liked. So she mentioned a few entrees and I chose some extras. Here is what I ordered for my family of 6. Orange chicken, General Taos chicken, garlic beef, combination lo mein, crab ragoons, cashew chicken, chicken fried rice and walnut shrimp. I also got a egg flower soup. All entrees came with steamed rice as well. Everything was delicious! Especially the crab ragoons! The soup was comforting and very warm considering it was delivered. If I could "complain" about anything it would be for more chicken and less celery in the cashew chicken and more pieces of meat in the garlic beef BUT I can't complain because the taste was fire! With all dishes. Everything was so fresh. My entire family loved this food. I don't understand all the negative rants about this restaurant. We all loved it and we are so picky especially with our Asian food. We will definitely start ordering from them more often. Also I would love to mention the delivery one more time as it arrived right when promised and the man who brought it was the sweetest! We have been loyal customers for more than a decade and today they lost our patronage due to substandard food and service. They regularly short us on one thing or another but Hunan Palace is one of the few places our kid likes. Today we ordered $65 worth of food and it was definitely not worth it. The picture attached shows the egg drop soup with a hair in it. We ordered vegetarian lo mein and rangoons and they gave us shrimp fried rice and shrimp rolls. I have a shellfish allergy. When I called them to let them know, the lady who took our order argued with me and then hung up on me. I was calling to let them know to check the other person's order because they won't be getting their shrimp. Too many bad orders from them. We decided to check out this place. I should have known something was off from the moment we stepped in. There was no one at the counter to greet us then when someone did come out she said to go ahead seat ourselves where ever we would like, and she would bring out menus. When she got to us, she had two different menus with roughly the same choices on both. I ordered a 16oz wonton soup, and the Mongolian Beef (my favorite dish), as well as an order of Crab Rangoon. My wife ordered Chicken with Snow Peas, and a single egg roll. Server then brought out our drinks of water and a soda. The crab rangoon and egg roll came out but the soup did not. I did not notice it immediately but after a couple minutes I noticed there were only 7 crab rangoon instead of the 8 on the menu. Another server came by and I asked about the soup as well as the 8th crab rangoon. She had no clue what to do but then asked me if I wanted the 8th one. I said yes. A few minutes later my wife's meal came out but still no crab rangoon and no soup. I asked yet again about the soup. I was told it was coming right out. A few minutes later, out comes my meal but still no crab rangoon or soup. Second server then comes out with a single crab rangoon, still no soup. I reluctantly started eating my meal. It was NOT good. Horrible flavor and probably the worst Mongolian Beef I have ever had. After I got about halfway through my meal, here comes the soup. The first server brought it out and needed my help to set the bowl on the table. I started eating the soup which was okay. The broth was decent but there were 4 very small wontons in the soup. With as small as they were, they could have easily put 7 or 8 wontons in the soup. At no time did either server ever come out to see how we are doing, or if we needed anything, which we did: drinks. It finally took, after another ten minutes, for my wife going to the counter to inquire about drinks. They finally brought them out. The first server apologized for the delay making the excuse that she was working two tables. I did not finish my entree but finished most of the soup. Needless to say, we will not be coming back to this place. While the food overall was okay, the service was horrific. If you cannot handle more than one table at a time then you should not be a server. read more

This was my first time to this restaurant. The first thing I noticed was the "We love our soldiers" sign advertising $3.95 (and up) lunch specials. The lowest priced lunch special on the menu is $5.95. I asked the waitress and she said that there are two entrees that cost $3.95. The two $3.95 lunch specials are sweet and sour pork or chicken and cabbage w/ brown sauce, two scoops of steamed rice, and two egg rolls. Fried rice is available for a 50 cent upcharge. I chose sesame chicken with steamed rice for my entree. I added sweet tea and Hot & Sour soup. I was offered crispy noodles with my soup which I accepted. I found out when I got the bill that crispy noodles are a $1 up-charge. The sweet tea and soup were brought out very quickly. The soup was piping hot. My sesame chicken was bright out about three minutes later. The sauce was sweet. The chicken tasted good. There was just the right amount of breading. The portion size was what one would expect to receive with a lunch special. I enjoyed everything I ordered. The waitress offered me a sweet tea to go and there was no up-charge. I asked the waitress for the check which came to $12.65. After a $2.60 tip, the final total was $15.25 which is around what I usually pay at other Asian restaurants for a lunch special. The restaurant was very clean and attractively decorated. The food wasn't the best I've ever had, but definitely not the worst. The service was good. Although I wasn't disappointed, the next time I am in the area at lunch, I'll probably go to the Asian Buffet west of here on the south side of IH-14. read more

Ordered 2 of cashew chicken with reg rice. Picked up, brought home, no rice. Called and they agreed to bring us the rice-thank you. However, there was more green peppers and water chesnuts and sauce than anything else. I found 2.5 cashews, my husband found none. I found small, miniscule pieces of chicken, my husband tasted none. We had frequented the restaurant prior to the pandemic and ordered a couple of times in the past 6 months but-not worth it when you are not getting what you ordered. We called and expressed our unhappiness with the meal. They didn't offer to fix it... they said, "we will come back for the food and give you your money back." They could have cared less. We have given this place so many chances and they still can't get it right. They have messed up our order so many times I have lost count. Then when we call to let them know they tell us that we made the mistake when we ordered. So today when we tried it again not only did the get our order wrong again the food was terrible and the was a 7 inch long hair is our soup. We tried to call the store and when they didn't have any answers to what went wrong on the order the lady we where talking to just hung up on us. I have been a customer of this place for years and this is the worst it has ever been. We spend anywhere from 60 to 70 dollars every time we order but I'm telling you now this was the last time I ever eat here again. My husband and I always pass by and since he is so picky and hated any type of ethnic food, I thought I would order some delivery while he's gone. I ordered orange chicken, house fried rice, hot and sour soup, Mongolian beef no onions, and sweet rolls. Mongolian beef is good but kind of just looks like steak. My husband will love it lol. The woman who answered was very nice and sweet about accommodating my order. The rice is delicious. I think there is ham in it which is a little weird but overall it tastes really delicious. The shrimp tastes fresh which is nice for a change. Sweet rolls taste just like donuts and there are a ton in an order. I ordered for my husband but I snagged one after the picture. Now for the soup. I was so excited because hot and sour soup is one of my favorites but this was a disappointment. The broth is more like gravy and it's just not at all what I was hoping for. Won't be ordering that again. But everything else is amazing. Oh and the orange chicken isn't crispy kind of like how I usually get it but it's still really good!!!! Have you ever ordered egg drop soup from a Chinese restaurant that sells the crispy chips as a side order BUT fails to tell you that when you order??? If they gave you the option to pay the extra $1.00 that would be different. Not wait until you get home without them to say "you have to request them." Well, I don't eat your soup without it, so that's a waste of money and time!!! Now I'll never eat here again.
