I ordered from here on Christmas Day for the first time! I called to confirm they were open after an order I placed at a different restaurant went through and when I arrived the doors were locked to start with, the employee who answered the phone was incredibly friendly. It was super easy to place my order online and pick up was a breeze. All the food was hot, flavorful, and packaged well. I will order from them again!

Egg roll was just mush inside, sent it back, Ordered the Curry chicken- very bland curry flavor and didn't like the way that carrots were little tiny squares, just a few sliced potatoes, not chunks, not good at all, sorry I didn't send it back too.

Came here while visiting Austin. There is free parking , no wait time and service was friendly and prompt. Wife enjoyed the hot and sour soup but the best was the chicken corn soup it was so delicious. We shared a fried egg roll same as others restaurants. Wife had the sesame chicken and got it spicy which is was. The chicken was tender and the fish was delicious. I tried the Mongolian beef, meat was very tender strips with onions and bell peppers which were fresh and crisp and not overly cooked. It was spicy as I kept drinking water lol but addictive. The fried rice was tender and helped with neutralize my palate from the hotness lol. Definitely recommend

We went on Christmas Day and they were completely slammed! Workers were almost running trying to get everyone's orders, drinks, seated etc. The food was slow to come out but we didn't mind because obviously this was a different situation due to it being a day when most places are closed. The Happy Family plate was really good and the fried rice was tender and flavored well. My husband ordered the Kung Pao chicken it has a lot of peanuts on it next time we will ask for no nuts. Rangoons are a little more on the sweeter side and the egg rolls were really good. I don't recommend the sweet tea it was just like sugar water there was hardly any actual tea in it. The employees were really friendly and definitely hard workers.

The beef pieces are super tender and the texture of the hand-pulled noodles gets me every time! We wanted to try a couple of new items so we ordered their version of the beef scallion pancake role and it was surprisingly refreshing with the generous amount of cucumber slices while still maintaining a crispy, airy crunch and just the right amount of savory hoisin flavor -- paired nicely with the noodles! The Pan Fried Pork & Shrimp Buns surprisingly contained a surplus of soup even though the bottoms were perfectly pan fried. Please watch out when you take the first bite because soup went bursting out the other end with one of the buns LOL. You don't need a side of sauce for the buns because the meat and soup are flavorful enough. Overall, I couldn't be more satisfied with the meal and already looking forward to the next visit! :)

The soup dumplings were insanely good along with the garlic bok choy. The table was pretty small and hard to fit all the food, but it definitely gave the vibe of being at an authentic restaurant. A limited menu so you kind of get pushed outside of your comfort zone, but happily and welcome to that. Will definitely be coming back!!

Having grown up in a household where dumpling making and preparation were treated as a meditation…read moreon perfection, I've been incredibly pleased to see Austin seriously upping its dumpling game. While I've yet to find a Korean joint with a proper Korean mandoo on offer, Chinese varieties are thriving with the likes of Julie's Noodles, Steamies, Lin's and, the subject of my review, Dumpling World. Definitely don't expect ambiance here. After suffering the Triangle's persistent lack of parking, you'll walk into this place and find a really spare, almost utilitarian set up that screams "we mean business." They definitely mean business. I've probably been here a good 5-6 times, and have tried almost everything on the menu. Soup dumplings shine -- my daughter refuses to eat them anywhere else -- and their recently introduced thumb buns, which I think are fried mini soup dumplings, just ooze flavor. More traditional half-moon dumplings, no matter your filling of choice, steamed or fried, never disappoint. Don't ignore the non-dumpling items too. I don't know what the seasoning is in their green beans, but it's ridiculously delicious. You'll never look at green beans or haricot vert the same way ever again. Good, but unremarkable, are the soups and stews. Better to get those at other Chinese eateries. I don't mean to dissuade anyone from those, but did you really come to a place called Dumpling World to eat anything but dumplings? It gets crowded here at times so I recommend trying on a weekday evening. Uniformly, whether it's packed or slow, service is quick and courteous. With dumplings this good, it's clear that humility is one of the key ingredients to their consistency and quality.

Way better than the soup dumplings (which are really good!). You can't go wrong with the curry chicken and potato pot stickers. Tan-Tan noodles were really good. The…read moreThai basil leaves were absolutely ginormous, and they gave us plenty of them alongside very fresh limes, which I appreciated. The bowl itself came loaded with meat--they definitely weren't skimping to save money here. The meat-to-noodle ratio felt great, and every bite actually had substance instead of leaving me fishing around for toppings. As for the broth, I landed somewhere in the middle. It wasn't quite as clear or light as I personally prefer, leaning toward a fattier, milkier undertone that almost reminded me of a Vietnamese pho take on tonkotsu. The flavor itself was undeniably very good, but the richness may have been a bit too much for me personally. One way I usually judge how much I love a pho broth is whether I want to sip the bowl down to the very end, and this one wasn't quite light enough for me to want to do that. I've had richer and deeper pho flavors elsewhere, but I still appreciated the flavor profile here and could absolutely see why this place is so popular. It feels hearty, comforting, and satisfying in a way that clearly resonates with many people. Despite how packed the restaurant was, the atmosphere ended up being surprisingly pleasant. Service moved very quickly, which honestly impressed me given how busy everything felt. Even with the crowd, I didn't dislike the spacing or setup at all--the restaurant still felt comfortable, and the sound of people enjoying their food all around added to the lively, welcoming energy rather than making it feel overwhelming. Overall, Pho Phong Lưu ended up being one of those places where I completely understood the hype, even if it didn't become my personal favorite pho spot. While the broth leaned richer than my preference, I still enjoyed the experience and definitely look forward to trying other dishes next time.

When you get there you're supposed to scan a QR code and give your phone number. Then, you're supposed to get a text when you sign in and a text when your table is ready. It didn't seem to work for my phone. (I get a lot of political texts and I've blocked A LOT of numbers. Is it possible that one I blocked ended up being used by assigned to this restaurant?) The ambiance feels authentic, though I'm not Asian by birth. We ordered two dishes, asking ahead of time which dishes had deep fried elements (we try to avoid deep fried food). The ones we ended up choosing, Chicken with Broccoli, and Lamb Cabbage Soup, had sugar in them (though nothing deep fried), yuck! Especially, the Chicken with Broccoli had a thick brown sauce that was very sweet. But, surprisingly, the Lamb Cabbage Soup also had sugar in the soup. My Asian-born ethnically-Chinese wife said "This is not Chinese food-especially the soup. At least that's not what I grew up with."
